Road trip to Raleigh in the middle of the week, early in the morning. Before heading to the hotel, I wanted to find a local breakfast place. First Watch seems to be that franchise in Raleigh. Was fairly busy for being midweek. Plenty of seating. Farmhouse modern decor feeling. Staff were polite and welcoming. Seated immediately. Carafe of coffee soon followed. That right there warmed my heart. Menu items all sound delicious. Farm to table concept. Obviously the menu was written for those who eat with their eyes first. My husband was first to notice no steak on menu. He wanted to leave but we ended up staying. We ordered basic breakfast items- eggs, potato hash, bacon, french toast and pancakes. It did not take long for orders to arrive. Looked good. Large portions. Tasted great. No food leftover. Around $55 for four people...the side items will add up. I hear a First Watch is coming to Matthews soon. After dining here, I can not wait until it opens. read more

The good... 1) We were able to get a table for a large party at the last minute. 2) Power wrap was delicious. 3) Food came out quickly. 4) Turkey club sandwich was good 5) Barbacoa Benedict was great. The bad... 1) Had to get our own utensils. 2) Sever was not attentive. She didn't check on us very often. Had to ask another server for condiments and salad dressing. 3) Didn't take everyone's order. Had to walk and get her to come back to the table to finish the order. 4) Broccoli cheddar soup was mostly cheese and very little broccoli. 5) Didn't refill water periodically. Had to ask for refills. Overall, this experience was not the best but I've been several times before with great food, service, and experience. So I take this as a one off. I will return. read more

It's certainly better than waffle house. I want to love this place and have it be my default brunch place but the food is just not good. The eggs were overcooked and dry and salty which is not how I like my eggs. The salads are sad and don't taste particularly good. Why should i come here if I can also make bad food at home for a fraction of the price? read more

Added to my list of favorites! A must try hidden gem that I have driven past too many times ( never again!) From the moment you walk in and you feel comfortable and relaxed. Wood and metal seats with wood tables. My favorite saying is prominently on the wall too! Free WiFi, a very diverse crowd young and old from all walks of life. To much to say with little time. This place is always packed and you would assume the food was fantastic but that was not my experience. I ordered breakfast for myself and husband and spent $60 for a to go order. The food was cold and nasty. Yes nasty! I called to speak to management but was told that he was assisting customers and that i could leave a message. smdh okay well that's what i did and he never contacted me. Not to mention I waited 45 min for a to go order. I waited because I didn't want to cook and my husband was strapped for time being he's a truck driver. Very disappointed and won't be going back. I'll preface this 2 start review by saying I've been visiting here for years and I have always loved my experiences. The food is good and staff is pleasant. I visited there this Sunday for a solo breakfast. As the waiter was bring me my water refill jug, it slipped out of her hand and dropped and broke on my table. Glass fell on me but I didn't get cut, but I did however get wet. They moved me to another table. I ordered something that cost maybe $12 and when I was done they brought me a bill. Now I know accidents happen, but I thought it was really tacky of them not to take care of my bill after having to eat breakfast with wet pants. Customer service or how to make accidents right should be #1 when accidents happen and I was frustrated they did not take care of a $12 bill. The cashier gave me a 10% discount but that was not enough for having to eat breakfast in wet clothes. read more

Certainly nothing about First Watch merits more than two stars. First Watch sets the mood with a great ambiance with their rustic look and the wholesome feeling of fresh food. However, everything else falls short of a good morning experience. This was the second visit and unlike the first this visit reflected the worst quality of service of the two. We were sat in comfy corner area facing the windows overlooking the surrounding businesses. Our server Vicky greeted us by obtaining our beverage orders to which refills were not an option, or if they were we never received one. Next we placed our order for an omelette dinner and the eggs Benedict Florentine meal. As for the omelette it was your average breakfast omelette nothing too special but decent. The plate was paired with a side of their delicious potatoes and toast. The eggs Benedict however, fell short of happiness. They came overly cooked slopped over spinach atop of a cold ciabatta bun married to a hollandaise sauce and paired with potatoes. read more

Fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh kale salad with chicken, broccoli cream soup- my lunch was great! Nice, simple ingredients prepared well. They have a nice breakfast menu as well as lunch. I was in town for business and my customer suggested this place for a quick lunch. The restaurant was clean and server was friendly and attentive. Went here for the first time and it was phenomenal! The food is so good. I had the salmon frittata and it was cooked perfectly. Their potatoes are really seasoned well but so so simple. But the highlight of the meal was the bacon! TRY THE BACON. Best I ever had. Our server was also great, his name was Michael! This is a nice place for brunch! I enjoy the Turkey sausage gravy and biscuit. My boyfriend loves the million dollar bacon and pancakes.

First Watch has become one of my favorite breakfast/brunch/lunch spots. Friends turned me on to a few years ago. I love the location because it's literally around the corner from the house. I knew going in that I wanted pancakes. I ordered the trifecta. It cones with 2 eggs cooked your way with a choice of French toast or your choice of pancake and your choice of meat. I went with the blueberry pancake. I've been slowly making my way through the various pancake options. There was a cinnamon pancake that was a seasonal option. It was DELICIOUS . Pancake was scrumptious. The bacon could have been cooked a little longer. The eggs were hot and fluffy. The pancake syrup was nice and warm. My plate looked like it had been hit by a tornado afterwards which indicates I truly enjoyed my meal. I highly recommend First Watch. I would suggest signing up for their email club because they occasionally send out coupons which is what prompted my visit. read more

Very happy with service and food. This was our first time here and it was busy but not busting out at the seems. I had an omelette that was incredible with yummy kale tonic juice. Unfortunately I must have eaten all the bacon before I was able to take a photo of my Million Dollar Bacon. It's definitely worth a try. I must say it's the best tasting bacon I've ever had... Perfect just paired with two slices of sourdough toast and butter and a cup of coffee. The Asian Pork Bahn Mi bowl was also very delicious as well as the Morning Madness and Kale Tonic juices. The pancakes were humongous... order the kids size if you're not a heavy eater. I loved the farmhouse decor of the place, our sever Israel was very friendly and accommodating with our allergy needs, service was overall good and we were seated as soon as we arrived even if the place looked busy on a Saturday morning. Normally the food is delicious, but their to go option is hit or Miss. My frittata was good, but the "seasoned" potatoes were disappointing.

This was my first time at this place and man was it good. I love the atmosphere and how refreshing it is. The staff was so friendly and i really felt welcomed into the place. There was a wait (i went on a Saturday morning) but well worth it and once we got seated our food came out in no time. Our waitress was nice and very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make a great breakfast decision. The only cons to this place is the seating, if you're at a table you're like RIGHT next to the next guest and the fact fat they didn't have alcohol (who can have brunch without mimosas????). The French toast was to die for and i loved that their speciality beverages where green juices with turmeric, ginger, spinach etc. Ill def be back ! read more

First time to First Watch. Very cute decor. I noticed it didn't smell like food when I came in. Our sever explained they do not have friers, microwaves, everything is made fresh. Maybe that's why? In any case, one put off was not one but two glasses (water and coffee) had lipstick on them; and not from simply not clearing the table - they appeared "clean" otherwise. Not a total germaphobe I simply pointed it out and asked for new cups. On to the food; fresh as promised! If you want salty (or are used to it due to other places) you will need to add it. They lean towards healthier options which is nice, just keep that in mind when considering what you're craving. Our server was extremely pleasant and took care of us. The potatoes could have been browned more (they were pretty white and almost undercooked), and seasoned better for more flavor. That said, I still ate most everything on my plate! And the buttered English muffin and fruit tin were nice free sides. The fresh juices were pretty good. I sampled the orange carrot ginger juice (slightly sweet, well-rounded carrot flavor) and the kale tonic. The kale tonic was light and refreshing, with a strong lemon overtone. So convenient, great quality and great savings has me here often and when guests come to town. Visited here for the first time with my mom. We heard great things about the food and also the fresh made juices. Walked into a nice open atmosphere and the place was PACKED. It was on a Saturday around 1pm. Our waitress name was Sara...Sara started out friendly and like she would be a great server for our table. The food was delicious, I forgot the name of my plate but it came with 2 eggs, bacon, English muffin and home fries. Was soooooo good !!! However, once we placed our orders that was it for Sara. She rarely came by to check on us. Once we received our food she never came by to ask how it was and if we could get anything. We had to stop her and ask for items we were missing and to- go boxes...almost like we were bothering her. This really made the experience not so enjoyable as we saw other servers tending to their tables promptly and friendly. Customer service is MAJOR , especially when you have paying patrons. After reading people on a community page RAVE about this place, I was very excited to try it. Our waitress (don't know her name) was VERY nice. Considering it's 90 degrees outside, it felt great inside. Our orders were Eggs Benedict, sans tomato; for myself the Swissroom Omelet. Both came with a side of "seasoned" potatoes. I put that in quotes because 1. they basically had zero seasoning AND 2. were not cooked to a delicious crispiness. The eggs for my friend were cooked HARD, he requested new ones. The new ones came but without hollandaise. The waitress did bring more, but something else we had to request. Only THEN was I asked about my food. The waitress did offer to replace it, but I had already chewed through half. So to recap: eggs rubbery, potatoes not cooked crisp enough and not enough seasoning, and my English muffin wasn't even toasted. Basically tasted like it had barely been heated. I'm pretty sure this is a one time visit for us. On top of that, when we checked out, the girl taking our money did NOT speak, just took the money.
