We've been to other First Watch locations, but this one seemed somehow better. Maybe it was the super enthusiastic server, or I was starving. Either way, this was a nice experience. I was happy to see they had a limited cocktail menu. Anything beyond a Bloody or a Mimosa is unnecessary at a bfast/lunch place, but word is they're getting a new full bar in an upcoming renovation. So if you like an Old Fashioned with your pancakes, you're in luck! We had a bunch of stuff, highlighters the million $ bacon. Lowlight was the biscuit bites. Nice flavor but super dry. The menu pic is better than the actual. Good place though. Overall the food, service and atmosphere will get me back there. read more

I'm not typically a fan of chain restaurants but a colleague wanted to meet for lunch at first watch and I agreed to try it. I hadn't had the best of experiences at other first watch locations but this one was surprisingly better. Our server took initiative to seat us himself and take our order quickly. I asked questions about the green juice and he brought me a sample to try it before committing to a whole glass. It was too sweet for me so he suggested adding beet juice on top of orange juice for a less sweet juice option. I really appreciated the creativity and the drink was really pretty! I tried the avocado toast and the bread was thick but not as crispy crust or hearty as I was hoping for. I am reviewing the North Valley Pkwy location. First Watch has been on a downhill slide for a while, and my breakfast here on Friday confirmed it. I was in Phoenix for a work trip and ordered breakfast and drinks for three people. The bill was around $100, which would be perfectly reasonable if the food and service matched the premium pricing. Unfortunately, they didn't. I ordered the Morning Meditation, advertised as a fresh juice made with orange, beet, lemon, ginger, turmeric, and agave. After a long wait, I received what appeared to be plain orange juice. When I asked for it to be corrected, the server brought me a small cup of beet juice and told me to mix it in myself. I then asked about the other advertised ingredients, including the ginger and turmeric. He mumbled something, and when I asked him to clarify, he said something along the lines of, "I can't go to the station; I don't have access to it." He then walked away, and that was the end of it. No attempt to correct the drink, replace it, or remove it from the bill. This wasn't my first visit. I've eaten at First Watch many times (various locations), and the food has consistently been bland and barely okay--perhaps a small step above IHOP--while the coffee tastes like basic hotel coffee. Service is hit or miss, but more often than not, it's a miss. I have no problem paying premium prices for premium food and service. But First Watch is charging premium prices without delivering either. At this point, continuing to return after so many disappointing experiences is probably my own fault. First watch on N Valley pkway. Ticket # 20125. Ordered traditional eggs and toast over easy. The toast came out 7min 32 seconds after they brought the eggs out. Eggs were cold. I set my phone timer because of issues with the last visit. They brought my wife's burger out late as well with my toast. The two other adults and Child were served perfect at the same time. Dear manager. Please tell the chef he/she must serve eggs with the toast at the same. The waitress was nice enough to comp the burger. I did leave a 20% tip. This was my second at this location. First visit had issue as well. I won't be back. I didn't want to complain about the toast as my wife did a tactful job about the burger. read more

First Watch doesn't really need another review. They are great. Period. Full stop. But, cudos where cudos are due. First Watch does everything right and does it with style. There is a unique twist to everything on the broad menu in this modern cafe. Every time I've been here service has been impeccable. I'm motivated to jot down this review because for all the 'fancy' menu offerings, First Watch has not forgotten us dinosaurs who are just looking for a pancake, eggs, and sausage. No frills, just the ubiquitous American cafe breakfast. You have to look a bit to find it on the menu, but it is there!!! Such a thing is getting really hard to find in the Anthem area. Two Brothers is about the only other offering. They are also great and very traditional. But, only First Watch manages to elevate cakes, eggs, and sausage to a gourmet level. The multi grain pancake is unbelievably crispy, but soft awesome goodness. You won't get me to try anything but the 'plain' cake. Why try to improve on perfection? And chocolate chips don't belong anywhere near a real pancake. Not to mention the other fancy cake options. (I jokes, because other more broadly minded folks will be treated to something uniquely awesome.) Their pork sausage is as good as it gets, and what's not to like about an over easy egg on top of it all. Just tried brunch from their seasonal menu. The double hash was super tasty and the carne asada tacos are flavourful. The last time we were here (about a month ago) we had a sticky table issue and we were sad to note that the same issue still persists. Our waitress says it's just the furnishing and they're replacing it, which is probably true however our table had some obvious dirty spots and we never received a cloth to wipe it down despite asking for one. read more

Our coffee served was warm at best. When mentioned, our server immediately brought us hot coffee. Our breakfast plates were mixed, as my plate was served with my husband's bacon and his plate was served with my sausage. My breakfast potatoes were overcooked to the point that half the potatoes were uneditable(see pictures). Potatoes were definitely reheated but the server assured us that they didn't do that there. I asked for eggs, over medium and received extra cooked eggs. One egg yolk was completely cooked through, the other slightly less cooked. The restaurant was clean and staffed appropriately. We had an awesome Sunday morning at First Watch! Definitely recommend joining the online waitlist--it saved us a ton of time, especially since it gets busy. While we waited, they offered complimentary coffee, which was surprisingly really good and a nice touch. I ordered the Million Dollar Bloody Mary, and it was bold, flavorful, and came with a delicious strip of bacon--no complaints there! The Morning Meditation juice might honestly be the best thing ever--super refreshing and the perfect balance of citrus and beet. For food, we tried the BEC Sandwich, Tri-Fecta, and SoCal Breakfast Hash. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and they have outdoor seating too, which is perfect when the weather is nice. Had the lemon ricotta pancakes. Have not had these since Covid! The recorta scoop was so delicious soft and creamy not tart just perfection. Lemon flavor was fresh and refreshing. This place was awesome! There was a 10 minute wait but it went fast... sat down and got coffee right away. I loved the decor and lighting and it was a nice open space. Our server, Caitlin, was as helpful as she could be. Unfortunately this First Watch had kitchen issues this morning. I ordered the Trifecta with pecans in the multigrain pancake. The server said that when she checked with "someone" (manager? Kitchen? Chef?), they told her they could put pecans on top. Every other First Watch throughout the country has no problem cooking the pecans in the pancake, especially since they serve a carrot cake and pecan pancake (which is essentially what I requested without the carrot cake). The eggs and bacon that came with the order were cold. After much discussion in the back, they decided to prepare the pancake as I ordered it originally with no charge for the extra pancake in view of the inconvenience, which I appreciated. My wife ordered the grits with a side of scrambled eggs. The grits came out first but the eggs didn't come out until 35 minutes later. 35 minutes. By then her grits were cold. Fortunately they decided to bring her fresh grits at no charge. This First Watch (Tramonto Marketplace) was very poor. They need to realize that casual dining does not mean disrespecting the customer's wishes or the customer's time. What if we have an appointment? We don't have time for them not to get orders right the first time. Apparently it was not just us. I overheard the man at the table next to us mentioning that they messed up his order as well. I walked into First Watch to grab a quick bite today, on July 31, around 12:30. I was greeted by the host, a white male with short cut hair, dark brown or black. He said I could sit wherever I wanted, and he would follow me to the table. I chose a two-top table. As I was about to grab a seat, the host told me, "Oh no, not this one." I stopped and gave him a look like -What's going on? The host then said he would" stop fucking with me." He then proceeded to sit me at my original choice. I sat down and said, "Sweet Jesus." The Black Canyon location is the worst. They don't have adequate parking as well as my order was supposed to be ready at 1015 and due to a mishap on my end I didn't arrive to pick it up till 1030 and its still not ready I was told yeah we are busy so just wait. I will say yes this is a very busy location but the service relaying the message of its not ready yet could've gone alot better if they were nicer. read more

Ordered a chickichanga on DoorDash and they gave it to me without any sauce. The sauce is one of the best parts and a main ingredient.. very disappointing and a waste of $17 in my opinion. Then on a separate meal I was given what looked like basted egg whites instead of the scrambled eggs I ordered. Multiple components like bacon and sourdough dough bread were missing from one of the meals. Just disappointing and way too overpriced if you're not going to receive what you ordered. Could be really good food but I wouldn't recommend ordering from them. Maybe their dine in service is better but I'm unsure and won't be in to check anytime soon. read more

We typically have a pretty good experience here and will do family brunches. However this last time we went (our waitress was Kira), was the worst experience we've had. Incredibly slow service, Kira had to keep coming back to confirm our orders, 1 meal came out 15 minutes AFTER everyone else's, and then at the end she picked up my sons plate but his butter knife covered in sour cream flew off with how she handled it - landing on his shoulder (covering him in sour cream) and falling to the ground. She doesn't say sorry or really even acknowledge it - my son picks up the butter knife for her, she grabs it and then she goes to the back and doesn't come back out... We paid and left but this waitress was the worst we've had here. read more

Love this place in KC, This location not so much. We stopped in on our way to Sedona. The server was nice but not a people person. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl and some donuts. The wife had the POWER BREAKFAST QUINOA BOWL, Both portions were small (flavor ok) and the donuts were cold (ice cold) The manager was nice and knowledgeable. We used gc from sams club as we frequent first watch, but the cashier was not used to taking them so a line formed and the manager had to come in and help. ( this was a teaching moment but the cashier had to help in other areas) I can not say that I would come back to this location. read more

We are usually happy with our meals at First Watch but this time was more than disappointing. My husband and I ordered two Cobb Salads to go and the amount we got was ridiculous. Our containers were half empty. No one like to pay money for something you could do better at your own house. I've ordered this salad many times before and have never had this issue. It was more like a side salad portion. I even share some of mine to make up for his, which was worse. Someone in the kitchen was negligent. read more
