Our party of six was seated promptly. The menu offered plenty of choices, so it took us a while to decide. We ordered a full rack of ribs, Florida Cobb salad, bone-in pork chop, grilled fish special, and other entrées. Each meal came with sides such as smashed sweet potatoes, crock pot beans, and steamed broccoli. The portions were generous, and everything was flavorful. The only disappointment was with my bone-in pork chop. Somehow, my order never made it to the kitchen. Once the mistake was discovered, the kitchen prepared it quickly, and it arrived exactly five minutes later. Unfortunately, it was raw in the center. I was told that the pork chop is normally served slightly pink, but this was clearly undercooked. I wish I had taken a photo. The kitchen promptly took it back and returned it properly cooked. Despite this mishap, the staff handled the situation professionally, and the overall service was good. The food was delicious, the portions were excellent, and I would consider returning, hoping this was just an isolated kitchen error.

I was going to order the calamari and 6 oysters. Putting north of $30 for supper. One of the people in the party ordered a smash burger, and I thought, what the heck, I'll order that. Pretty good burger. For those who like to drink under a thatched roof outside, there is a tikki hut. The establishment's motif is all over the map. But let's just stay with the island theme in Naples, FL. Would I go back again? I don't know, I have had this book marked, and I have eaten at another of their establishments, Sonny's. They do not have the same menu. I like that.

I parked near their walkway sign and once I ventured through, it's such a lovely walk up to the restaurant with a bridge over water with fountains and tons of blooms everywhere. Once inside, I was met with a bright, crisp dining room that was clean and comfortable. We started with cocktails and I got their version of a Manhattan, the hog-hattan. It's made with Whistlepig 6 year and came out on the rocks. Manhattans not served up are kinda a pet peeve of mine--but this one? Truly and honestly one of the best Manhattans of my life. The server did not steer me wrong. It was exquisite. For my dinner, my dining companion and I opted for a deal they had that allowed you a starter and main for a reasonable price. I got the kale salad for my starter which was bursting with flavor--chopped kale, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, chevre, and a bright citrus-y vinaigrette--what's not to love? For my main, I got their Mahi Mahi which was also perfectly executed. It was served over a bed of rice and asparagus with chopped mango and a sauce (not sure what kind but balanced the dish perfectly) on top. I would have a hard time not ordering this dish again. It was craveable. Our server was lovely and provided wonderful recommendations for both myself and my dining companion. No notes! Get to it!

I read it was a little tricky to find, because it sits in the middle of a little resort. It's a great walk over a little bridge that crosses over a pond. It resembles a seaside restaurant with lots of seating inside and outside. I sat at the bar and was enthusiastically greeted by the bartender. I asked for her recommendations and I went with the hogfish sandwich. Luckily, she told me I could get it grilled and blackened instead of fried. I could tell they knew how to cook fish because it came out perfectly. Most would probably think it was undercooked, but that's how fish should be cooked. I appreciated this attention to detail and thought it was delicious.

POV: You're finishing your coffee at your favorite breakfast spot and a stranger steals your coffee…read more Okay so. We have been going to The Rooster in Naples for YEARS. Years. Long before it was on food network. The food? Immaculate. Never once had an issue. Today? Today changed everything. Our waitress was an angel, no notes, we love her. We're sitting there, happy, sipping our coffee, not even an hour into the meal, barely finished eating, when suddenly a completely different server materializes out of nowhere and just... puts her hands. On the WHOLE top, every inch of the top half of our coffee cups. Mid sip energy. And starts trying to take it. This was our FIRST ever interaction with this woman. First words exchanged. We say, simply: "we are just going to finish our coffees." She hears us. Denies it. And grabs the cups anyway. I look up like excuse me?? And she looks at me, dead in the eye, and goes: "Well aren't you done?" MA'AM. NO. We were NOT done. We hadn't even finished writing the tip on the receipt which, by the way, she then just SNATCHES off the table. Gone. Like a magic trick nobody asked for, and I certainly didn't order. I say, still not finished. And this is where it gets unhinged, because she goes: "well there's a wait." A wait?? For WHAT. There were FOUR tables open inside. EIGHT tables open outside. Not a single soul waiting for a seat. She said it like she was reading off a script from a restaurant that was actually busy, which plot twist it was not. Then, and I need you to picture this, she starts REACHING ACROSS ME. Full arm extension. Into my personal space. Grabbing plates. Grabbing cutlery. I am frozen. I do not know this woman. She does not know me. And yet here we are, inches apart, over a fork. Questioning if I should ask for her last health test results because we are sharing breaths like a horror movie. My companion, sensing the unhingedness of the woman gets up to go find our ACTUAL waitress, the good one, because at this point all we want in this world is to finish our coffee, leave our 30% tip (we were being SO generous, we do not play like that), and say thank you like normal diners. But does the story end there? IT DOES NOT. Because as my companion is trying to talk to our sweet waitress, coffee cup snatcher strikes again and BUTTS IN. Not once. Multiple times. Interrupting my companion mid-sentence, over and over, like she just could not let the woman finish a single thought. Louder. Meaner. Full attitude, unprompted, uninvited, unwell, unhinged. Our actual waitress, bless her, is apologizing over and over, offers us brand new coffees, offers to reseat us like nothing happened. And she was so genuinely kind about it that we almost said yes. Almost. But we were both so shaken by that point that we just... left. And the WILDEST part? This woman was TRAINING someone. Actively. In real time. Passing the torch. Teaching the next generation how to traumatize brunch customers over a coffee cup. We love The Rooster. But that experience? Left a mark. I'll send you my therapy bill Roosters.

Our waitress, Jamie, was absolutely outstanding! She was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you have the opportunity to sit at Jamie's table, I highly recommend it! I ordered the salmon, which was delicious. My husband had the yellowtail snapper, and he said it was the best fish meal he has had in Naples--and that says a lot because we have been dining at restaurants throughout Naples for many years! Our mothers had the crab cakes, and one of them actually ate the entire dinner--which is SO unusual! She clearly loved them. The other enjoyed the stuffed shrimp and had nothing but good things to say. It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday: great food, wonderful company, and excellent service. Thank you, Mr. Big Fish, for helping make my birthday special--and Jamie, you were a star!

No one greeted me, took my order, or even acknowledged that I was sitting there waiting. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that other gentlemen noticed I was being ignored as well. After waiting and receiving absolutely no acknowledgment, I finally got up and left. I wasn't expecting special treatment--just the basic courtesy and service any customer should receive. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and extremely disappointing. No customer should be made to feel invisible in a restaurant. This has NEVER happened to me in my life!!

I had the French dip sandwich and the meat was amazing. Tender, flavorful, piled high on a crusty roll with au jus for dipping and a side of fries. This is how a French dip should be done. Paired it with a cold Stella Artois and it was a perfect lunch. My wife had the tuna bowl, which was beautiful. Fresh ahi tuna with avocado, edamame, mango, radish, carrots, cilantro, crispy onions, and fresno peppers. Colorful, fresh, and packed with flavor. She loved it. The service was excellent. Attentive without being overbearing, kept everything moving smoothly. White tablecloth vibes with a comfortable atmosphere. The Verdict: Bricktop's delivered a five star experience. You are automatically greeted by their warmth and the inviting restaurant with a vibrant mural on the wall and large chalkboard showcasing their specials. Their coffees are so standout because they get fresh whole beans, rather than just getting sent the ground coffee which is easier, but less fresh. ~Triple chocolate muffin ~Bowl of homemade chili, This chili was so thick and hearty, full of meat, beans, and flavor and topped with tons of shredded cheddar! ~Reuben sandwich, Georgi told us they were known for their famous Reuben so we had to give it a try! We are so happy we did! It comes on thick Rye bread, and is grilled with sliced corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing. It is served with delicious French fries and is a must-order! ~Georgi said his favorite was the Chicken Berry Salad. It has grilled chicken, spinach, lettuce mix, with grapes, strawberries, blueberries, candied pecans and craisins served with Balsamic vinaigrette dressing. This salad was the definition of freshness and all of the ingredients worked perfectly together. The candied pecans were divine and the produce was premium quality. This is another must-order! ~Now, it came time for Veronika's recommendation and creation: the Avocado Toast. It's on thick multigrain toast with fresh avocado, lemon, tomato, onion, feta, and 2 poached eggs finished with black sesame and olive oil. served with fresh fruit. All of the ingredients worked so perfectly together, and again, you could taste the quality. I like how they use fresh avocado slices rather than artificial spread. The yolks were nice and runny. ~Steak and eggs with over medium eggs, hashbrowns, and sourdough toast Goldie's Restaurant is my top brunch recommendation in Naples, FL. You can see as I have that this place has great reviews and rightly so. This place was packed. The dining room was clean and cozy. There was only one table available inside when we arrived. There were several available tables outside open as well. But since we like air conditioning we opted for the inside experience. Our waitress was Viri. She was knowledgeable, attentive and personable. We wanted for nothing. All of the wait staff seemed very nice. But Viri joked with my wife and I and it added quite nicely to our overall experience. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich with Fries and a cup of their made from scratch New England Clam Chowder. The Clam Chowder was creamy with ample potatoes and a hint of bacon. It is very well made and something I could easily see myself ordering again. The Reuben Sandwich came out hot and crispy with the right amounts of corned beef and sauerkraut. There was a perfect amount of Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. It was everything I hoped it would be. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. The Hollandaise sauce was well crafted and creamy. The eggs were cooked to perfection. She had hash browns with her meal that were also cooked well. Even though we drove from Fort Myers to we can easily see ourselves making the trip again just to eat here. From the clean dining room to the expert wait staff and the quality of the food (Shout out to the faceless cooks in the kitchen). My wife and I will be returning at a future date. I would recommend this establishment to any hungry travelers and locals alike.
