This place is really good for breakfast/brunch. Frittatas, Eggs Benedicts and Tomato Basil is my favorite.

There's a big part of me that wants to give 1 star bc I am so disappointed. I however am going to try to base my review as if I've never eaten at a First Watch before. I am from Chattanooga Tn and First Watch is in our top 5 places to eat. It is phenomenal...in Chattanooga! We were traveling home from Florida and stayed in Montgomery to cut our trip shorter and when I got up this morning, searched on yelp for close by places for breakfast and was ecstatic there was a First Watch. Without hesitation heard that way. Here's my experience: Upon entering the building, there's no host, only a hosts stand.. we don't care about that until we continued to wait for 5-7 minutes before a server came to seat us. She wasn't rude, but wasn't friendly either. Just blah.. "Two??..." grabs menus, walks us to a table and says she will be with us in a minute. She didn't offer coffee or any beverages. There's 3 occupied tables in the building, it's 9:45 am yet the team doesn't seem set up. We wait quite a while and she comes back and ask if we want coffee, we say yes and she starts to walk away and I say, "we'd like to go ahead and order please." She seemed annoyed, but turned back to us and said in a drawn out "oooohkay.." I ordered the avocado toast with a slice of gruyere cheese, side of bacon. Her entire demeanor while taking our order was a demeanor of annoyance, like we were bothering her. She treated me like my order was complicated. Have you not ever heard of upsale??? The higher your ticket price is (especially when a dang piece of cheese is 1.49, and bacon is 4.00+!!!!) the higher your tip is! But I guess when you're obviously annoyed serving your guest the ticket and tip amount just isn't a concern, right?? Anyways, she seemed annoyed with the ordering of cheese, asking me where I wanted the cheese and wanted to "explain to me how it comes.." I replied, I know how it comes, I eat it nearly once a week.. I told her I wanted the cheese melted on the eggs, "well how do you want your eggs?? Basted?" I replied, over medium please. I don't eat the bread, I just eat the avocado, eggs, cheese and bacon. When my meal came the cheese was melted on the bread, topped with the avocado. I'm very easy so I didn't say anything and peeled the cold (bc when you add cold avocado to hot cheese it doesn't make it melted cheese anymore‍) cheese off of the bread and placed the slices on my hot eggs hoping it would remelt it some. It didn't. The meal was delicious, even with the not melted cheese... same yummy coffee.. oh let's get to that part... when we sat down and she brought our coffee, there was no other creamer available but hazelnut, and there was no silverware rolled so we didn't have a spoon. We didn't see our server anywhere so I got up and robbed other tables of their creamers and tried to find a spoon, to no avail. I finally saw another server bring out a handful of rolled silverware and placed at the host stand, I got up and went and got silverware. Our server only returned once to ask if we wanted coffee to go (thank you, that was appreciated!) she then returned with to go cups and our check. The food was spot on and delicious. Our service experience was beyond lacking. I feel at 9:45 on a Monday morning with very few quest, it shouldn't be hard to hit customer service! I personally couldn't care less if my food was awful and they completely screwed everything up if my server was nice... finding staff that offers that should be key! read more

Thank you First Watch for bringing a great breakfast/brunch option to cities that don't have many options like Montgomery. I've also been to the one in Pensacola,FL where there are plenty of options but still has a strong menu to compete with. I really like the Floridian French Toast and the eggs and bacon are expertly cooked. The Benedict's are pretty good too. read more

They know our children on a first name basis! Great food and great customer service! When my husband and I wake up and we're out of EGGS!! The first thing on our mind is First watch! We used to go to the same location when it was "The Egg and I" the service is better... the facility is more updated and has a rustic county feel.... I have never had a bad meal there and it's reasonably priced. Not cheap, but not expensive!! BTW there is guaranteed to be a line if you go on a weekend after 9-10 am, but they use the ap "no wait" which is super convenient. EAT HERE! This was a stop on our way to visit family in Houston, Tx and I have to say it exceeded expectations in every category. The presentation of the food is fantastic, plating breakfast food in an attractive way is not a simple task but they succeed mightily. The service is fantastic they are very friendly and accommodating as well as knowledgeable about all of their food. The quality of the food is second to none, when a restaurant states farm fresh you can usually assume maybe 30-45% of it is actually farm fresh but I believe that they are solidly in the 65-85% range. Everything we had to eat was delicious and so dang fresh it might as well have been clucking and mooing and oinking. Also their fresh squeezed juice is fantastic. I had the Morning Meditation. Food was fine, but I had the worst service of my life. Our table was not greeted for at least 5 minutes. After that the only time we saw our server was to drop off drinks/take our order and to drop of the check. Nobody at our table got a drink refilled despite most of us needing one when the meal came. What an adorable find! The interior was clean, well decorated, and quite full of people. When you sit down you're offered coffee, then given a whole pot(!) and a big container of water- I love that touch. The menu has everything from healthy options like oatmeal to indulgent items like lemon ricotta pancakes. The menu is fantastic, tells you the calories of every single thing! The service was prompt, efficient, and fast. I was really impressed especially since the whole restaurant was full. The food amounts are generous, I had to get a to-go box because I couldn't finish mine. At the end of the meal you're given your ticket and you pay on your way out. I can see where management thought this would save time, but the line to pay was quite long and also had people who were picking up to-go orders, which slowed our exit considerably. Man oh man....When that voice is in your ear telling you to remember...MOST places that closes early have the best service and food, you have to agree. My daughter had just finished Alabama States band camp and we needed to get food. She wanted Zaxbys but i told her we were gonna go outside the box today. Glad my Yelp came in handy this go round for me again. Found this spot which is basically in a small plaza if you dont pay attention you could pass it. They are great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with great prices. My daughter had the BLT and a banana walnut pancake, the pancake was awesome after i had gotten a small piece of hers. Her BLT looked so good but i cpuldnt taste it die to the fact I dont do pork but bacon, lettuce, tomatoe, and a cheese omelet on wheat grain bread. Myself i did the biscuits w/turkey gravy, seasoned potatoes, and scambled eggs lets just say i desire more. After paying my bill it was brought to my attention they have TWO locations here in Birmingham i wasnt aware of, so please be prepared for me to visit some time. read more

We had a late breakfast here in June 2017 while on a weekend visit to Montgomery from Indiana. We have First Watch restaurants in Indiana but I have not visited any of them yet. Even so, we were so glad we stopped at FW in Montgomery. The avocado toast was a nice treat. The menu is eclectic and not your typical southern breakfast fare (though much of that was available). Great service, cool modern digs and excellent food. We'll stop here again when back in Montgomery. read more

This morning my biscuits and gravy had terrible freezer burn, my daughter ordered sausage and got bacon, and she couldn't drink her lemonade, had a funny aftertaste. I recommended our server take the biscuits and gravy into the kitchen and sample for themselves. He came back with a funny look on his face telling me yeah somethings definitely freezer burnt, they threw out their biscuits for the morning I guess? That's what I was told... Regardless I didn't eat my breakfast my daughter ate her chocolate chip pancake with no water or lemonade. Our server took one of the meals off which I was OK with I wasn't trying to get something for nothing. Then the woman running the cash register put both of them back on and charged me for the full meal when I have to somewhere else to get a meal now? It was at that point I became displeased and rocked by the experience.. My daughter said "well after years that's not our spot anymore.." She's 8.. I've never had a problem here, food normally delicious, but First Watch Montgomery has gone all the way down hill.. read more

Very generous servings of avocado on their avocado toast, they don't skimp. Farmhouse hash is divine and nobody else serves anything as savory as their millionaire bacon. Love u guys pls don't ever go out of business. read more

I said to the lady that answered, good morning I have a question about reservations if you have a moment. She replied I don't and hung up the phone. She recommended the smoked brisket hash & I've never had brisket for breakfast. I was skeptical, but I trusted my waitress and she didn't fail us. It was extremely delicioso and I'll give it a try again. I truly recommend the new and changed Egg and I. Wow!!!!!! Best breakfast I have ever had and the is tasty. Heck the artisan whole grain toast even shocked us at how flavorful and large it was compared to the usual cheap white bread toast most restaurants give and it came with a very tasty strawberry jam. Soooo good I ordered it twice!!! The brisket hash had this sweet maple barbecue flavor! Wow. I loved the farm theme throughout the restaurant! First breakfast that kept me full past 1300. I ended up skipping lunch and it wasn't a gross full, more like a healthy hearty meal full! . I eat a lot, so that speaks well of there food quality!!!! Absolutely a must!!! Myself and a group of seven others went to this restaurant for Sunday brunch. We waited about a half hour because which was completely worth it! The decor is adorable and well thought out. Service was absolutely wonderful (Michelle was our waitress). She was considerate and attentive for such a large party. Lastly the food was impeccable.
