Wow. I am really shocked over our experience today. How hard is it to get scrambled eggs and toast right? The waitress and manager both seemed more irritated than concerned about my food, (and overall satisfaction). The way I see it is that $13 eggs, toast and potatoes done to order should be an easy ask. Do they not have a whisk? Does the toaster not work? I left feeling like I was asking for something outrageous. There was absolutely no discernible concern or apologies from anyone; just smug indifference, which is a far cry from the male manager who usually walks around randomly asking guests if they're happy. I guess that's what we get for coming on a holiday weekend. We're really hoping for the usual (superior) experiences next time. read more

Founded 1983 in California and relocated to Sarasota just three years later, First Watch creates seasonal menus with health-conscious options which my partner and I came today for breakfast located by Melbourne Square. It's recommended to be placed on the wait list online to avoid long wait which we happily did and got a table within minutes upon arrival. That's an indicator of its popularity, and one bite of the food quickly explains why. We usually come here for breakfast but they also have a nice lunch options. Our server was Brittany. We ordered BISCUITS & TURKEY SAUSAGE GRAVY WITH EGGS containing one large house-baked buttermilk biscuit split in two with homestyle turkey sausage gravy, two cage-free eggs any style and a side of fresh, seasoned potatoes, and THE TRADITIONAL - Two cage-free scrambled eggs, bacon served with our whole grain artisan toast, all-natural house preserves and fresh, seasoned potatoes and shared a side of buttered grits. The quality of the food and good service as well as the reasonable prices make this establishment our go to place. Never been disappointed as our food is always delicious and fresh. This particular location just took over an older restaurant and refurbished the inside to its signature concept of a more open dining area, a bar for seating, and a kitchen that is observable from almost any seat in the place. It is located on the north side of 192 just to the south of the Melbourne Mall. It is in a stand-alone building with a good amount of parking. You are greeted by a hostess and seated in a first-come-first-seated order. The seating is a mixture of tables and booths. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The menu has a good assortment and plenty of choices. I ordered the breakfast special for about $13 which consists of eggs, toast, jam, potatoes, and bacon. It came out quickly and was very good. First off the seating process is screwed and preferential. Was told 15 minute wait for party of 4, which turned into 45 minutes with no explanation. Had to chase down the manager to inform about the misleading wait time, no empathy shown at all. Now to the food, my childs food came which should have been waffles and bacon. Somehow was served on a plate that had a big green spot that I assumed to be left over avocado. Now anyone with eyes and a brain could tell the plate was dirty, but nope served anyway to a child. Clearly this is a leadership issue. The male manager here is shockingly rude. You can hear him talk about his customers negatively. It's clear he absolutely hates his job. The host even apologized to me for over hearing him talking about our party. I said to the host, that he can just say his grievances to my face but of course the manager cowered away. I would like to say this was my first encounter with him, however, it's been multiple times. It's honestly unfortunate that this is the face representing this company, and his distaste for it clearly impacts his staff. Despite the negative reviews on this location, we had a wonderful experience. Our food was delicious and the service was delightful. Our waitress was very attentive and checked in several times. Every time I glanced around the restaurant, I saw the staff busy cleaning or helping other customers. I left a very unflattering review about 4 months ago. The customer service manager was very quick to respond and I was contacted by the store manager shortly after. They offered an apology and a gift card for another trip. My husband and I tried the location in Melbourne and, while the service was slightly better, the food did disappoint me. My husband's breakfast of pancakes was great, but my "poached" eggs were barely cooked. I could have sent them back, but I was so put off by them that I didn't want eggs anymore. My turkey sausage was fine but the fried potatoes were burnt. We are going to give them one more chance and try lunch. Let's see if lunch fares any better than breakfast. read more

I told myself I will skip a review on this newly opened restaurant in W Melbourne but.... It's our first time to dine in FW since we're newbies from WA state. Interior is open concept, with not a whole lot of privacy and found it very noisy. No waiting, got seated right away. Partner got eggs Benedict & one of the eggs is very runny & the other very well done. My pork sausage was way overcook & tough. Sad for a 3rd day of opening. Cook need to revamp! This franchise needs to work on their queuing and seating process. I checked in online using the app, checked in when I got to the desk, got a text saying we were next to be seated, yet another group was seated before us as soon as they walked in to check in. I think this is clearly due to a lack of communication between the staff who are doing check ins (there were two individuals that were working up front). When I went up to inquire on the status of our queue, I was given attitude and told I was being waited on to come up to the front. Was confused because a group was seated before us and just walked in. Otherwise the food and service during the meal are good, they just need to iron out this process (why have an online check in at all if they can't go by the proper order of the line?) read more

Amazing food and even better service! I was visiting my family for Memorial day weekend and on their recommendation we stopped in for brunch. Our server Amy was so sweet and her recommendations were spot on. The manager Kyle stopped by and made sure everything was going good. I am a frequent diner at First watch and I must say that I am very disappointed with my experience at this location. We had a party of 7 and we were sat in the back outside where it took 20 mins for our waitress to show up to our table. The waitress brought out 1 pitcher of water for the 7 of us and I had to repeatedly ask for more water from several different people, and still they did not bring water. It wasn't until one of my party took the pitcher up to get a refill that we finally received water. One of my party members has a medical condition in which he needs to have a drink with each swallow of food. The kitchen missed another member of our tables meal completely and then when his meal was brought out it wasn't what he ordered. Overall the service was lacking and after the waitress noticed that we were feeling a tad irritated she said she had compensated the one member of the table that didn't receive his meal, only to see that he was still charged for his meal. I don't usually like to complain and I usually dislike when people make a big deal about minor things, and in no way shape or form am I looking for a discount or anything free... I just think that the pitchers of water are very small especially to share amongst a party of 7. I hope that my review will be a teachable moment for future larger parties in that maybe 2-3 pitchers of water are brought out for tables larger than 4. read more

I love the delicious options and have ate here 3 times in the past two weeks. Such fresh choices, great cold brew and the juices are delicious as well. The decor is homey and beautifully done. I only gave it four stars because they just cant get an egg fried correctly. I ordered an over med egg and it comes out with runny white egg every time. This last time I ordered scrambled to be safe and it was good but my guest ordered over medium and again, one uncooked white (very runny on one) and their other egg was cooked correct. I had the half sandwich with soup and my friend had 1/2 sandwich with salad and both were awesome . Monterey club with chicken avocado chop and a vegetable soup. The price was excellent.. the portions were filling...excellent combination for those counting calories and also wanting a GREAT MEAL! The service and management were terrific. Everyone was nice. I see this spot every day, decided to have lunch last week, sat at the bar, server was friendly, but slow and inefficient, waited almost 35 minutes for a soup and sandwich combination, soup was cold, like cold out of a can cold, server was no where to be found. Discovering at the end of my breakfast that the price of a pot of coffee was $8, 3.95 for each person, and that there is no price on the menu, was extremely disappointing. Because we had been "offering" the coffee at the table and at the end it was $8 for 2 cups of coffee (and they do it to each client). You don't even realize how much you will be paying!!! So it's hard for me to do a complete review because we went on Mother's Day and they were PACKED. So I'm trying to not base everything on that because the walk up wait time was over an hour. We did get "in line" in the app before we got there. Said 45 min wait. We got there approx 25 min later and checked in and then waited another 45+ min to get in. But once again, they were so busy. We sat outside and it was lovely! (Minus the guy who backed his car in and left his car on and fumigated the outdoor patrons. Yes, I did approach him and he quickly fixed the problem.) Waitress was prompt and had great suggestions. But it all kind of went down hill from there. We asked for water for the table (I need water to eat my meal) and it didn't come until well over halfway after the food came out. So for me, I had to wait to really eat my meal until the water came out. But the food was good. Other reviews stated how their eggs were over cooked, and that was definitely the case for mine. I ordered over easy and they came out medium. But not a deal breaker. Our waitress came by right after we got our food. I asked for another Bloody Mary (soooo good!) and water (second request). Still no water or second drink... she comes back with the check, comments on how the drink isn't out yet. I said, if it's not made, just take it off and PLEASE BRING WATER! She comes back to tell me that they're just waiting on ice to make my drink (not take it off) and still no water. Finally water came and then my drink, that I didn't want.. but hey, it's booze. Can't say no to vodka. The table that sat down beside us around this time ended up having to have plastic to-go utensils due to lack of clean cutlery. This could have easily been remedied by busing tables in a timely fashion. Bus boy was sooo slow (I watched) and didn't seem to care. But for all I know, dishwasher was backed up due to volume of customers. Went to pay and the tip screen started at 20%. I just have an issue with that because, well, stop assuming your waitstaff deserves 20%. She definitely did not. Just another one of those things that rubs me wrong. Would I go back? Sure. Once again, we went on such a busy day. Will I go back any time soon? Probably not. Which, I think is sad. We're semi new to the area and really looking for that perfect weekend brunch spot.
