Visiting from Colorado and looking for a healthy option for breakfast. Yelp pointed me to First Watch and we weren't disappointed. Wait on Saturday morning was about 30min - they really try and get things moving quickly by taking your order ahead of time. Coffee and Tea available for free was nice while we waited. Menu selection is excellent and everything tasted great! Server wasn't very friendly and kind of made us feel like an inconvenience to be there, but other than that I'd highly recommend. read more

We have yet to come here when it wasn't packed. We thought we'd have a quick breakfast on our anniversary before Jeremy went to work. It's a Monday and it was 10am. They still had a wait, several large groups, and getting our food was so slow. At least the food is good but they never seem prepared to be so busy. We both, and they forgot it was the day after graduation. So if you want some good pancakes made fresh with no microwaves in the kitchen but don't mind waiting then First Watch is for you. read more

We have family in Lawrence and whenever we come visit we have breakfast here. MY favorite is 1 blueberry pancake (they r huge) and a side of patty sausage. Always excellent and fast courteous service. On weekends get there b 4 9AM. read more

Disappointed. I have been here several times, and the staff are always nice, and the food is good; but if I ask for no bread, they always forget, and today we went there, and the waitress came to the table, took my boyfriend's drink order, then left before I could even open my mouth to request a drink too, and when she finally came back, she took my drink order and brought it in a plastic cup; no straw, no lid, totally weird. I watched to see if other people were getting plastic cups, like the kitchen was short on glassware, but it seemed that I was the only one this happened to. Totally bizaare, not to mention the fact that she ignored me the first time. I and everyone I have gone there with have always been polite, quiet, respectful, and leave good tips. I have no idea why she thought it appropriate to behave this way, but it made me feel very unwelcome, and I don't think I will be going here anymore. It seems like a small thing, but it did not feel like a mistake, and it is not the first time an error has been made (always by the same person). Great place but the last couple times we went, my water glass smelled like bleach. First time I asked for a new glass. I think he rinsed it out and brought it back because it still tasted like bleach. Second time it happened, I didn't even bother to ask. I just drank from my wife's glass. Food is always amazing though. Service is great, but there is always a long wait on Saturday and Sunday morning, so book a table on Yelp early. read more

First Watch is the closest brunch/breakfast place to me, so I end up there more often than other places. The staff are always friendly and polite, but the food is very plain in appearance and taste. The atmosphere is very cheap and plain as well. Their menu is very large for breakfast, and even though the food is plain, it's never bad. read more

We stopped here for a quick bite before starting the day and it was a really solid choice. I had the Power Wrap with egg whites and was impressed by the nice mixture of buttery, nutty cremini mushrooms, swiss cheese, tomatoes and herbs. All the ingredients were extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. My fiance had the Caps etc (which is basically a big bowl of cremini mushrooms with melted cheese) and it was delicious. Being vegetarians it's often difficult to find breakfast places with diverse and tasty options but First Watch has us covered. They have a well balanced menu with plenty of meat and non-meat dishes at affordable prices. Our waiter was polite and welcoming, frequently refilling our water and coffee without being asked to. First Watch is a great casual, quick breakfast spot and we will certainly be back. read more

It's always good food & I expected to have to wait, but didn't - thanks to KU game! We don't usually have to wait to be seated because we don't go at busy times. We like the menu and the food is great. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It is a pleasant and satisfying dining experience. I love the huge Pancakes love the new menu. The new Manager does a wonderful job on greeting at the door, my server ADAM was just as friendly as it can be. Give the whole team a thankyou. I come here every Sunday and some time during the week as well and always my experience is been Highly Satisfied. The New Ipad is been very helpful I think...... the best two or three restaurants in Lawrence for many years. read more

Food was good - as someone who thinks that the word organic has lost all of it's true meaning through the food industry... I scoffed at the menu when I saw most everything was organic and "natural". Meh. Either way I really enjoyed my typical breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. The coffee had the strangest and most bitter taste though.. not a fan of the coffee. I'll definitely go back to this place and try out some other things though - Specifically the Floridian! read more

Loved First Watch. Not the greatest location for a visitor, although it IS near some of the chain hotels which makes it convenient, just not charming (in a strip mall). However, the service, menu, food and coffee all make up for it. I thought they had some great options on the menu. I ended up with the market hash and was so glad to be able to get some yummy veggies and goat cheese in my breakfast. It was hard to choose since there were also some terrific sounding crepes on the menu. read more

I'm a nice person, or I'd have probably only given one star. Sunday morning brunch is busy. I get it. But...while we were standing in line, someone spilled coffee on me, no apology. We were seated at a table, around which the floor was littered with napkins and crayons, by the bathrooms, from which a strong urine odor was emitting. The water for drinking tasted like Clorox. The salad I had was full of rotting and wilted greens. Not a great experience. read more

Ok, so this was my first time at First Watch. My boyfriend took me and was raving the whole way there about how good the food was--but he was wrong. It was some of THE BEST food I've ever had--sans exaggeration. Not only the food (I ordered the Pesto Quinoa bowl because I have an egg sensitivity) but our service from the "Good Morning" from the manager who sat us to our amazing server, Katie. Both of us said we can't remember a time we've had better service--and I was a server for 4 years. And she was better than I've seen. Anywho-- I am totally in love with this place because there literally was nothing that could have been improved upon regarding our experience. Food was delicious, hot, super fast and Katie was just exquisite. and the atmosphere is clean and lovely. PLEASE GO!! read more

Really good breakfast place! Never have had lunch here, but looking at the menu it seems to be just as good. Many options, including healthy options! Good service for being packed on a Sunday morning(there is a wait time, but it's worth it) The waffles and pancakes that I had were a big size and really good, many favors to choose. I've been a big fan of first watch since I moved to Lawrence. They offer a really nice breakfast / lunch menu that I've never been disappointed with. I've visited this location around 10 times an have found them consistently delivering good food and service. The omelets are substantial in size and flavor. The eggs benny is also a great choice for biscuit and gravy lovers. They rotate a seasonal menu that often has some really great selections. The pumpkin pancakes were one of my favorite I have had. This is a great place to bring friends or family for a nice sit down breakfast / brunch. read more

I have only been to First Watch one time, but it was definitely my last. I ordered the classic steak and eggs and I ended up with food poisoning. Thank you First Watch for the miserable 12 hours I've had to go through. I will never eat at this place again, HIGHLY disappointed. read more

Waited to be greeted by our server for nearly 10 minutes. She finally took our drink and food order, but then never brought our drinks. It would have been somewhat understandable if they had been busy, but I could see our server dancing on the expo line instead of tending to her customers. We walked out without receiving our drink or food. I doubt she even noticed. She appeared to be under the influence of something. With so many great breakfast options in Lawrence it is doubtful we will ever be back. read more
