First Watch is exactly what you want out of a breakfast place. It's located near the Circle Center in Downtown Indianapolis. My friend and I parked in a parking garage a few blocks away and enjoyed a short walk over to the restaurant. It was Sunday afternoon, so there was a bit of a wait, but the beauty of this downtown location is that you can explore the surrounding shops, and the monument, while you wait for a table. I ordered the iced coffee and breakfast hash. The food was delicious, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The waiter was very friendly and stopped by several times to check in on us. The coffee was a little too sweet for my taste, so I wouldn't order it again, but the breakfast hash was fantastic! This location is also nearby a few hotels, so it's a great spot to grab breakfast while you're visiting before you explore the city. I would definitely recommend you check it out. read more

First Watch is usually one of my favorite breakfast spots and I was stoked when my brother told me there was one in downtown Indy. I got my usual of avocado toast with no lemon and two eggs over easy served with a cup of hot green. The tea was really grainy and I don't know if the aftertaste was just because the cup had been washed poorly or if the water was not boiled long enough as it wasn't that hot. The avocado toast was smashed high with green goodness and I was excited to take a bite, until I came back with a mouthful of olive oil. Someone did not understand the definition of light drizzle and my avocado toasts were unedible because of it. The eggs over easy were cooked to perfection, just added salt and pepper at the table and luckily I still had something for breakfast. I'm sure it was just an off day because First Watch is usually so on point, but I was not a fan. I'll probably just stick to my local store in JAX from now on instead of eating at any First Watch out of town. read more

Came here on a Friday afternoon for brunch and the resturant was almost full. There were so many things on the menu that looked good but my family and I ordered the sunrise bowl, a Parma skillet hash, French toast, the works onlettw and the million dollar bacon. I ordered an ice coffee but it was too sweet, easily fixed by adding some fresh hot coffee that was free and left at the table. The Parma skillet hash was super good. The potatoes were really well seasoned and had great crunch. The French toast had a nice strawberry jam to go with it. The bacon to me wasn't that great, but the rest of my party enjoyed it. The food was delicious, the service was horrible. I understand that the industry as a whole is short staffed but there was zero excuse for the lack of attention and service that we received on our visit two weeks ago. There was a table of 6 which we were able to snag a round table in the back of the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were all ready to order within minutes - drinks and food. The waitress took the order and failed to bring enough coffee mugs for all that wanted coffee. She volunteers that she would be bringing mugs back. After seeing her enter and exit the kitchen several times, we never received coffee mugs. The waitress never even came within an earshot of the table to ask her. Ultimately, I ended getting up and going to the kitchen where I asked a male server to grab mugs. He was super helpful and provided me with what we were lacking. When it came time for our checks, the waitress was nowhere to be found and we had to request them from the male server again. I get it that places are short staffed but I also feel that many servers are lacking the motivation to put in the work to earn their money! All that aside, the food was good and fresh. This is a great breakfast spot and my go to when I'm in downtown Indy. Today I gave the carnitas burrito a try and it was amazing. Filled with flavorful meat, eggs, avocado, potatoes, etc and then wrapped up. The burrito is covered with tomatillo salsa and crema, and the flavors were perfect together. Solid place to go for breakfast. We went this morning (Saturday) and had very little wait, surprisingly. The host staff/cashiers were very friendly. I got the A.M Superfood Bowl that came with a side of multigrain toast with almond butter with sea salt on top (I know, the salt sounds odd but it was so good!). First time for me at this place. We had the blueberry pancakes and Belgian waffle. Their waffle is big but not ridiculous, crispy on the outside. Exactly how I like my waffles. Service was solid. My wife ordered the pesto chicken quinoa bowl and also loved the taste. We loved that it was busy but didn't have a long wait on a Saturday morning. The coffee was average and not worth the $3 in our opinion. Starbucks is right next door and probably would be a better option if you wanted coffee! We popped into First Watch on a Saturday morning to grab breakfast before running errands. Surprisingly, we did not have to wait for a table and were seated immediately. I'm always a fan when a server quickly comes to the table to greet and automatically brings an urn of fresh coffee. The menu has many options and several healthy options as well. This was a small starter plate, that came out within five minutes of us ordering....& it definitely tasted like a million bucks! I would recommend ordering if you are a bacon lover, like me. As for my entree, I got the Morning Market Veg Omelet. It was different than any omelette I have tried at brunch places; I loved it. All the veggies that were chosen gave it a very earthy tone which paired very well with the goat cheese. As my side, I got the seasonal potatoes as a sub and it was a great decision. This place is one of my top choices for brunch downtown. The food is excellent and my top two go to dishes are the biscuits and gravy or the power wrap. I love that they have both sweet and savory options along with a healthy section too. The biscuits and gravy are some of the best and come with potatoes and eggs. The potato's are cooked with seasoning and onions and are delicious!! The power wrap comes with Turkey, egg whites, mushrooms and their house pico which adds a nice fresh element. The dish also comes with a side of fruit. For a healthy dish, it's very hearty and definitely fills me up every time I order it. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Each time I've been, it's been a little on the slow side, however this may be due to staffing shortages. One additional observation while I've dined in, is the presence of carry out orders.
