I love me some first watch!!! This location was good. I like that they have. Lot of space and that it wasn't too long of a wait. The hostess was nice and the waiter was a lot nicer. The only issue is that they have the SMALLEST TABLES!!! And for someone who wants to try new things, order a water, coffee, and juice, you can't. They are really biting the bullet and negating people who want to spend a lot here when they put them at the extra small 2person tables. Sadly I don't get to try anything new because of that. So I just got my usual, which was the trifecta and my friend got the lemon pancakes.
Visited First Watch with a friend and before we arrived, we did add ourselves to the waitlist. At the time, they weren't too busy, so the waitlist was unnecessary, but it did pick up after we came in so be sure to check on that if you're planning on going. I do have to say, the decoration of this place is a little funny. It has a nice vibe to it, but we couldn't help but giggle at the doors on the ceiling and the watering cans on the wall shelves. Our waiter was really friendly! I had the hot chocolate, which - you can't really go wrong with that. I then had the eggs benedict with a side of home fries. It was okay - nothing to really write home about but I wasn't mad at it either. I definitely think this place gets the job done, but if you are looking for a NICER brunch experience, I would recommend you look somewhere else.
I honestly did not even know this restaurant was at Maryland. My friend and I were looking for a place to have breakfast at and I love first watch. There was plenty of parking. We were seated faster than I expected. They offered us to sit at this like bar area when we were about to be seated, someone informed the waitress that that space was reserved for a large party that was coming in. The waitress was able to find another space for us to sit down. The restaurant was very busy. It was around 11 AM. As always, the food was delicious. Their coffee is so good. I had to stop myself at 2 cups. This is the first time I try their carrot pancake and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be ordering the same meal next time the restaurant was very clean and our food came out at a very timely manner. I would definitely recommend this place.
I eat breakfast here once a week for the last year or so and the food and service have always been great. Today my friend and I walked in at 7:00am and could hardly hold a conversation as the music was so loud. No requested that it be turned down and my sever told me they had complaints but were not allowed to adjust the volume per the REGIONAL MANAGER. There are 4 people here in the restaurant and someone not here is controlling the volume of the music. We don't need music blasting at 7:00am. Maybe this is the appropriate volume at lunch with a full seating. I won't be back. Get your policy reasonable. Ciao!
Nice place for breakfast or brunch in Meyerland. So many choices so easy to satisfy everyone in your party. Omelettes. Pancakes. Tres leches French toast. Salmon Benedict. Farm stand breakfast tacos. Power bowls. Get on the waitlist virtually to cut down your wait time. Nice to be able to walk in and get a booth to celebrate a special birthday with my friend, Tiffany. Her bacado looked delicious. Filled and topped with lots and lots of avocado. My salmon frittata with a side of potatoes was also very good. Sign up for their First Watch rewards program. Get a BOGO offer for your birthday celebration. A nice way to start another year.
Went out to brunch with a friend on a Friday at around 11 pm. This place is tucked in the center across HEB in Meyerland. There is parking around the building but can be filled fast. The place is decorated nicely and it was bustling with at least half the tables full at all times while we were there. We waited a bit before being seated and waited some more after being lead to our table. No offer to get high chairs for us - we have 2 kids aged 2 and 6 with us. We ended up getting them ourselves. The table itself was super tacky/sticky. There were two coffee cups on the table already and those needed extra strength to unstick them from the center of the table and set off to the side. So I chose this place because their website has ingredients and allergens listed out to the point that I was impressed. My friend is the only omnivore with no dietary restrictions. The rest of us are allium-free vegetarians and the youngest has a host of food allergies - wheat, eggs, avocado, peanuts, tree nuts, kiwi, and pineapple. I thoroughly studied the website so I had an idea of what to do and once I mentioned food allergies, our waitress double checked on them to make sure there would be no issues, so kudos to that. We ordered: FLORENTINE EGGS BENEDICT (no herb topping as that contains alliums): this was delicious. The eggs are on ciabatta which, though not traditional, worked. One egg was runny whereas the other was almost done, but I didn't mind too much. Also included avocado and sliced tomato. The hollandaise was perfect. I got the included salad and it was refreshing. The dish was a perfect portion and I really enjoyed it! You can request for seasoned potatoes instead of the salad, but those contain alliums. MORNING MEDITATION JUICE: this was beautiful! It comes out with a red top and orange bottom, made out of orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, agave, and beets. Despite all that, it really works and tastes quite good. Even my youngest enjoyed it! I had to request for a kids cup to pour some of my drink into it for him. CHEESY GRITS: this is a side item and I got it for my youngest with the food allergies. He ate it and enjoyed it. He didn't finish it but I didn't expect that. I'm just glad he had something he could eat. Basically, it's grits topped with broiled melted cheese. Chocolate Chip Pancake (kids menu): this is a single, HUGE pancake topped with butter and syrup on the side that also comes with a side of meat of your choice. We had that separate so my friend could have it. My kid liked it and ate a third of it, which is quite impressive for her. My friend got the BLT Eggs Benedict with a side of seasoned potatoes (she really liked hers but was sad none of her eggs were runny) and Purple Haze (a lavender lemonade that is really delicious and pretty, with the help of butterfly pea tea). Despite the slow service, which is somewhat understandable since she was busy, and sticky tables, the food did come out in a reasonable amount of time and we all thought everything was good. I am glad there's a place that is so transparent about their food and that we can have something substantial at. A win! I will definitely keep this on my radar next time we want breakfast/brunch nearby. They also have gluten free toast that you can sub in at no extra cost, which is a nice touch. That's their only GF bread though.
Four years later and the taste, the service, price, and ambiance are still the same. I come several times a year and get the same thing. I don't need a fancy brunch spot, just give me First Watch!!!
We got on the list and got a table easily for 7 on a Sunday morning. The menu had great choices. The food was tasty but the issue was with the kitchen and service. We had to ask for additional water glasses. We had one in our party order an iced coffee and was given a hot coffee. We ordered a side of potatoes and had to ask for them after food was delivered. The delivery was the real issue as it was 4-5 mins between when the first entree's were delivered and the last one. Nobody in our party felt comfortable eating until we all received our meal. Nobody came to apologize or even check on us. It was 2 trifecta that were late to the table; disappointing.
First watch has been a go to for breakfast for my family. There has never been a more than 5 minute wait when my family and I went and it's a nice welcoming atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you are always promptly greeted with a smile. Upon sitting you are offered a morning "Cup of Joe" and given the menu. My mom and I went the other day I got the Pastrami New York Breakfast Sandwich and Wedding Soup which were sooo good I left not a crumb on the plate. My mom got the turkey gravy biscuit, breakfast potatoes and scrambled eggs. She loved her biscuits but some of the potatoes were a little harder and her eggs weren't as fluffy as she'd like (she's def a food critic). Overall we had a good breakfast date. We will def be back!
We visited this restaurant while in town over the Thanksgiving holiday. First Watch is a place that we support as everyone in the family can find something delicious to enjoy. We joined the waitlist online and we were seated immediately upon arriving. I ordered the Morning Market Veg and the service was really really fast. The food was as delicious as it is at the First Watch near my home. Great food and service!!
I have been to this location a few times for dine in and carry out. The service has always been great. On my most recent visit, Christmas Eve, I was impressed with the service since that is a busy time. The food here is always great, the ingredients are fresh and always hot. I ordered the parm hash this time around. My niece ordered the Chickichanga and couldn't stop raving about it. I will say, this is not one of the breakfast spots that you will leave with leftovers. The portions aren't small but they aren't heavy and plentiful. It's just enough. They also don't have different side options besides toast. Also, I used my bday bogo coupon on my latest December visit (my bday is in June). I love that unlike most restaurants, the birthday coupon expiration just kept adjusting if I didn't use it.
Great place for breakfast or brunch! They have a diverse menu with options for everyone. Love coming here when I need a quick meal. The service is super fast, especially when ordering online. They also have great exclusive menu items for every season! Right now they have the "Golden Cinnamon Roll". It is phenomenal! Strangely reminds me of king cake from New Orleans. Would rate First Watch five stars, however, on multiple occasions they have gotten my order wrong. They always fix it quickly though. Give it a try for yourself!

*note below negative review was for the upper Kirby location. Didn't realize this was a chain. Nonetheless the poor experience of this chain still applies. Online order for pickup. Relative to estimated pick up time it was over 40min late. Despite restaurant being at ~75% capacity. Multiple online orderers waiting so this wasn't unique to my order. Also my order was for one person meal (not some massive order) Need to revamp your order management system, or just completely remove your estimated pick up time. Have not yet tried food, looks decent, priced well for the location. Decor was good. But most of this food is cookable at home, didn't anticipate wasting my entire morning. After getting home realized they forgot 20% of the order. read more

My favorite place for breakfast. I'm mad at myself for having been living nearby for 2 years and I've only recently tried this place. The food is amazing! I love how they feature new items frequently, especially the juices. Morning Motivation is the absolute best. I can always get a table as soon as I walk in and the service is always consistently friendly and attentive. Corduroy always makes your day start off right. read more

Came in after running an errand to have breakfast. Was seated immediately after arriving. My waitress was friendly and attentive. The food never disappoints at First watch. The atmosphere is pretty quiet with your usual ambient noise adding to the atmosphere. If you do breakfast get the kale tonic. So refreshing! read more

This is for sure one of my new favorite brunch spots! For starters, the menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable (considering brunch is more on the expensive side these days). I appreciate that most meals come with turkey as the main meat or options of turkey or chicken sausage patties. I also appreciate how egg whites are served with a lot of the menu options. Service was great and food came out promptly. We got the Tri-Athlete and the Traditional Breakfast with egg whites and chicken sausage patties. There could've been a bit more seasoning on the food, but it still tasted really good! The portions are also very generous. I was very pleased with our visit, and we will definitely be back! read more

Holly breakfast, brunch, and lunch! I loved this place so much I went 2 days in a row! The decor and customer service is so inviting. This place has the ihop vibe when it comes to fresh pot coffee although the first time I went it felt a bit burnt. I love the old school glass milk jug of water they give you for the table. I always order the avocado toast with the two eggs and I add a side order of bacon and make it a sandwich. If I can recommend anything is ask for the avocado on the side. You may think there is no such thing as to much avocado but trust me it's A LOT. My mom is more open minded and ordered different things each time we went and she loved both plates! I highly recommend for a delicious breakfast. read more
In short: consistently disappointing I thought the re-model from Egg and I was great. I love the aesethic and the wooden door chandeliers on the ceiling. It feels open and spacious with an abundance of natural light, but the food has not impressed me at all. The first time we came, I was excited about and ordered the chickichanga. This thing doesn't hold a candle to the much bigger and much more flavorful Tinga Wrap from Union Kitchen on Bellaire. There were an abundance of ingredients, but they didn't come together at all and there was barely any chicken or chorizo. For $11, it'd be nice to get enough protein to get full. My wife really likes their french toast (and I will admit it is quite good) so we gave them another try. This time I went with the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy. First of all, on the menu it says biscuits... plural, but what you actually get is one biscuit cut in half. The gravy was cold and there was barely any turkey sausage in the gravy. (Also, who does Turkey sausage in Texas?) Maybe I'm spoiled because I grew up in the country in East Texas where biscuits and sausage and gravy are a staple, but cold gravy is about like cold eggs, inedible. I rarely, if ever, leave food on my plate, but this was so bad. I just wanted to walk across the street and get a box of Chicken Minis from Chick Fil-A. The service was friendly enough, but they need to improve their coffee policy. My wife ordered a cup of coffee. (I'd already had two cups at home so I opted for water.) But, when you order coffee, they bring you the whole pot. Well, they're not going to give that to someone else after-the-fact so I just figured they charged by the pot and poured myself a cup as well. When we got the bill, I guess the waitress saw me pour a cup (of coffee that was going to be poured out) and charged me $2.85 (or whatever it costs) as well... They don't put the price on the menu - perhaps precisely so they pull this little bait and switch tactic? Not very transparent. I'd probably pick up French Toast to-go for my wife, but I'm probably done with First Watch. read more

I've seen this brand opening up in different parts of the surrounding Houston area. I had not tried one until today. I came in with little expectation and thinking it's a wannabe healthy breakfast spot. It turns out that it isn't. Of course, you have to take the portion factor into account to reduce the total calorie intake, but they have a variety of food options for the entire family. Food: I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (~800 calories) for 2 stacks, splitting the order w/ my hangry daughter makes it less calories. Yass! The pancakes were very fluffy and delicious that I didn't feel the need to add syrup or agave on it, plus a little dab of lemon curd gave it a little sweetness. My family members were happy with their meals as well. Service: We were greeted and seated right away. The place was full but not packed. We arrived at 1:50PM and left at 2:30PM. There was no delay in food and wait staff was friendly and prompted with refills and answering questions. Location: It's definitely a better option for the area. Glad they replaced the Egg and I - I wasn't a fan. read more

The old Egg and I location. Same ownership, but with a new look and menu. Food overall was tasty but somewhat lacking in seasoning. During the weekend this location has long lines. A good hint is to download the first watch app and get in line prior to arriving. read more

First Watch has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast restaurants. Dining here is always a pleasant experience, never rushed. They have seasonal menus as addition to their regular items so you'll almost always have something different to try. The employees have always been nice and up to date with the seasonal menus. Their handcrafted beverages are nutrient packed and delicious. Always a good option besides their equally good caffeine selections. read more

I love this place. I was asking my friends for suggestions on good places to eat and one of my friends recommended me to come here so I came and I loved it. This is my new favorite place even though it's a bit far for me but it's worth it. I stay in the east side of Houston but I come here because the food is so delish. read more

Good brunch spot in a central location. Feels like it's more of a middle-aged mom spot than a trendy millennial place, though, which might explain why it's the third or fourth restaurant in this location since I moved to Houston. Tacos were so good (but inevitably so drippy), and my friend's eggs benedict was a comforting classic, but and the non-alcoholic drinks menu is small. Weirdly dissonant decor choices, but plenty of light! read more

Seating time was quick. Waiter was extremely nice and patient! No rush at all, very kind. I ordered the A.M Superfoods Bowl & orange juice. Delicious, perfect portion, simple yet great flavors combined. I also tried the drink "Watermelon wake-up" made with lime, mint, watermelon and pineapple. Not to sweet, not to tart, not to strong and minty. Just right! read more
