Visited First Watch with a friend and before we arrived, we did add ourselves to the waitlist. At the time, they weren't too busy, so the waitlist was unnecessary, but it did pick up after we came in so be sure to check on that if you're planning on going. I do have to say, the decoration of this place is a little funny. It has a nice vibe to it, but we couldn't help but giggle at the doors on the ceiling and the watering cans on the wall shelves. Our waiter was really friendly! I had the hot chocolate, which - you can't really go wrong with that. I then had the eggs benedict with a side of home fries. It was okay - nothing to really write home about but I wasn't mad at it either. I definitely think this place gets the job done, but if you are looking for a NICER brunch experience, I would recommend you look somewhere else.

I honestly did not even know this restaurant was at Maryland. My friend and I were looking for a place to have breakfast at and I love first watch. There was plenty of parking. We were seated faster than I expected. They offered us to sit at this like bar area when we were about to be seated, someone informed the waitress that that space was reserved for a large party that was coming in. The waitress was able to find another space for us to sit down. The restaurant was very busy. It was around 11 AM. As always, the food was delicious. Their coffee is so good. I had to stop myself at 2 cups. This is the first time I try their carrot pancake and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be ordering the same meal next time the restaurant was very clean and our food came out at a very timely manner. I would definitely recommend this place.

Nice place for breakfast or brunch in Meyerland. So many choices so easy to satisfy everyone in your party. Omelettes. Pancakes. Tres leches French toast. Salmon Benedict. Farm stand breakfast tacos. Power bowls. Get on the waitlist virtually to cut down your wait time. Nice to be able to walk in and get a booth to celebrate a special birthday with my friend, Tiffany. Her bacado looked delicious. Filled and topped with lots and lots of avocado. My salmon frittata with a side of potatoes was also very good. Sign up for their First Watch rewards program. Get a BOGO offer for your birthday celebration. A nice way to start another year.

Four years later and the taste, the service, price, and ambiance are still the same. I come several times a year and get the same thing. I don't need a fancy brunch spot, just give me First Watch!!!

Florentine Eggs Benedict with Morning Meditation Juice
Iris T.

Went out to brunch with a friend on a Friday at around 11 pm. This place is tucked in the center across HEB in Meyerland. There is parking around the building but can be filled fast. The place is decorated nicely and it was bustling with at least half the tables full at all times while we were there. We waited a bit before being seated and waited some more after being lead to our table. No offer to get high chairs for us - we have 2 kids aged 2 and 6 with us. We ended up getting them ourselves. The table itself was super tacky/sticky. There were two coffee cups on the table already and those needed extra strength to unstick them from the center of the table and set off to the side. So I chose this place because their website has ingredients and allergens listed out to the point that I was impressed. My friend is the only omnivore with no dietary restrictions. The rest of us are allium-free vegetarians and the youngest has a host of food allergies - wheat, eggs, avocado, peanuts, tree nuts, kiwi, and pineapple. I thoroughly studied the website so I had an idea of what to do and once I mentioned food allergies, our waitress double checked on them to make sure there would be no issues, so kudos to that. We ordered: FLORENTINE EGGS BENEDICT (no herb topping as that contains alliums): this was delicious. The eggs are on ciabatta which, though not traditional, worked. One egg was runny whereas the other was almost done, but I didn't mind too much. Also included avocado and sliced tomato. The hollandaise was perfect. I got the included salad and it was refreshing. The dish was a perfect portion and I really enjoyed it! You can request for seasoned potatoes instead of the salad, but those contain alliums. MORNING MEDITATION JUICE: this was beautiful! It comes out with a red top and orange bottom, made out of orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, agave, and beets. Despite all that, it really works and tastes quite good. Even my youngest enjoyed it! I had to request for a kids cup to pour some of my drink into it for him. CHEESY GRITS: this is a side item and I got it for my youngest with the food allergies. He ate it and enjoyed it. He didn't finish it but I didn't expect that. I'm just glad he had something he could eat. Basically, it's grits topped with broiled melted cheese. Chocolate Chip Pancake (kids menu): this is a single, HUGE pancake topped with butter and syrup on the side that also comes with a side of meat of your choice. We had that separate so my friend could have it. My kid liked it and ate a third of it, which is quite impressive for her. My friend got the BLT Eggs Benedict with a side of seasoned potatoes (she really liked hers but was sad none of her eggs were runny) and Purple Haze (a lavender lemonade that is really delicious and pretty, with the help of butterfly pea tea). Despite the slow service, which is somewhat understandable since she was busy, and sticky tables, the food did come out in a reasonable amount of time and we all thought everything was good. I am glad there's a place that is so transparent about their food and that we can have something substantial at. A win! I will definitely keep this on my radar next time we want breakfast/brunch nearby. They also have gluten free toast that you can sub in at no extra cost, which is a nice touch. That's their only GF bread though.

Million Dollar Potatoes

Had placed a pickup order and paid almost $6 for the million dollar potatoes and this is what was given to me... barely filled half way. so disappointed.

Trifecta breakfast

We got on the list and got a table easily for 7 on a Sunday morning. The menu had great choices. The food was tasty but the issue was with the kitchen and service. We had to ask for additional water glasses. We had one in our party order an iced coffee and was given a hot coffee. We ordered a side of potatoes and had to ask for them after food was delivered. The delivery was the real issue as it was 4-5 mins between when the first entree's were delivered and the last one. Nobody in our party felt comfortable eating until we all received our meal. Nobody came to apologize or even check on us. It was 2 trifecta that were late to the table; disappointing.

New York Pastarmi Breakfast Sandwich and Wedding Soup

First watch has been a go to for breakfast for my family. There has never been a more than 5 minute wait when my family and I went and it's a nice welcoming atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you are always promptly greeted with a smile. Upon sitting you are offered a morning "Cup of Joe" and given the menu. My mom and I went the other day I got the Pastrami New York Breakfast Sandwich and Wedding Soup which were sooo good I left not a crumb on the plate. My mom got the turkey gravy biscuit, breakfast potatoes and scrambled eggs. She loved her biscuits but some of the potatoes were a little harder and her eggs weren't as fluffy as she'd like (she's def a food critic). Overall we had a good breakfast date. We will def be back!

We visited this restaurant while in town over the Thanksgiving holiday. First Watch is a place that we support as everyone in the family can find something delicious to enjoy. We joined the waitlist online and we were seated immediately upon arriving. I ordered the Morning Market Veg and the service was really really fast. The food was as delicious as it is at the First Watch near my home. Great food and service!!

I have been to this location a few times for dine in and carry out. The service has always been great. On my most recent visit, Christmas Eve, I was impressed with the service since that is a busy time. The food here is always great, the ingredients are fresh and always hot. I ordered the parm hash this time around. My niece ordered the Chickichanga and couldn't stop raving about it. I will say, this is not one of the breakfast spots that you will leave with leftovers. The portions aren't small but they aren't heavy and plentiful. It's just enough. They also don't have different side options besides toast. Also, I used my bday bogo coupon on my latest December visit (my bday is in June). I love that unlike most restaurants, the birthday coupon expiration just kept adjusting if I didn't use it.

Great place for breakfast or brunch! They have a diverse menu with options for everyone. Love coming here when I need a quick meal. The service is super fast, especially when ordering online. They also have great exclusive menu items for every season! Right now they have the "Golden Cinnamon Roll". It is phenomenal! Strangely reminds me of king cake from New Orleans. Would rate First Watch five stars, however, on multiple occasions they have gotten my order wrong. They always fix it quickly though. Give it a try for yourself!

Door Dash order to hotel room. Food arrived still somewhat warm. Presentation was just good in containers but the breakfast was good. My husband got the work's omelette with side of fruit and bacon. He said it was alright plate came with toast. I had the advocate bacon omelette with a side of fruit and apple chicken patty. It was for good for the fact we needed breakfast but it may of taken away from the experience we would of had had we dined in.

Of course any brunch spot is going to be busy during Sunday Brunch hours, but the wait here for 2 people wasn't too bad. Took about 20 minutes for us to get a table. I've eaten at other first watches before and knew the food would be good. Our waitress Gina was excellent. She was super sweet, personable and super attentive. She came by the table often to see how we were doing. The tacos were a good size and you get to choose your accompanying side. The only thing that it was missing is a good red or green salsa. They only had Pico or hot sauce. The Banana Granola Crunch pancake was big, fluffy and delicious! I love that they use fresh sliced bananas. I enjoyed their chicken apple sausage. I also love that their orange juice is fresh squeezed. No yucky concentrated juice over here. Great brunch experience because of Gina. I will ask for her next time I come back.

Similarly to their more popular location in Memorial (#2), this outside of this Bellaire spot doesn't immediately tell the full story. The interior has an industrial vibe, with the high ceilings and overhead fixtures, but as converted into a solid dining space. The large tilted mirrors in the main area are reminiscent of the now defunct Helen's (#3) and makes for a fun (or perhaps distracting) visual. The spacious layout allows breathing room for all kinds of groups. Service has been good overall, and prompt throughout every visit. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Their salads are equally fabulous from their classic caesar to a hearty cobb salad. I wasn't as impressed with the crunchy Asian salad, but thought their faro salad was a thumbs up. Understandably, the priciest meals are some of their grilled and house specialty meals, such as a prime tenderloin filet ($42), Mediterranean roasted redfish ($36), twelve hour ribs ($29), and rosemary-lemon chicken ($29), all of which are solid. I feel the buttermilk chicken tender platter ($19) is really meant for children, but is great for any tender lover in the bunch. Their weekly "features" are a series of daily specials that range from prime rib nights on Wednesdays and ribeyes on Thursdays, and "kids eat free" specials + their happy hour give folks plenty of reason to check it out. ___________ ( #1) Especially during their seasonal deals which can sometimes include steep discounts. Only feedback about seating was outside parties would take chairs from other tables and leave them with no seating and not all tables we're shaded. The drinks being available at the bar when it is busy and then food being delivered to the table was a bit clunky. The food came out fresh and hot and for the price, we were surprised by the portion since its was the $10 HH burger and fries. The fountain drinks were interesring as well. DS does not have Coke or Pepsi products. They have similiar flavors you would find with those brands. I enjoyed the Mexican Coke. It seemed to not be as fizzy aa your own well know caffenated Compadres but still carried a great flavor. Let me not skip over the dessert! Bottom line is that Milton's should be your go to place for just good old Italian fare but in an upscale but not stuffy atmosphere. Mark Sayre - the restaurant groups beverage director hosted the charity dinner for my wife and I and 4 other guests. We were served 9 courses family style including a couple of cold plates, a couple of salads, a couple of pastas and a couple of entrees along with a dessert. Everything was fantastic and Mark did a great job of hosting and explaining the wine pairings. The best of the apps was the Sicilian Tar tar. Tuna, scallop and salmon perfectly marinated on crostinis. The Hearts of Palm Salad was excellent, and they are definitely sharable, probably made for 3 - 4 guests to share. Of the two pastas the Cresta De Gallo stood out the most, but the Bolognese was also virtually perfect. Of the two entrees we enjoyed the Chicken Piccata slightly more than the Hanger Steak. On our second visit, Ryan was our server. He had been our server at Underbelly, One Fifth and Georgia James in the past and remembered us immediately and was a wonderful host for the meal. This time the table enjoyed the Chargrilled Oysters and the Parsley Salad to start. We also sampled 4 pastas - The Cresta De Gallo again, the Chitarra with Scallops and Uni, the Lumache with Vodka Sauce and the Sourdough Tagliatelle. All were fantastic. My personal favorite was the Chitarra. In the end we finished off all 4 so no leftovers. We then shared the Chicken Piccata as our only entree. This dish is so good. Juicy Chicken, flavorful sauce, and the Sourdough Tagliatelle was the perfect accompaniment. We also enjoyed two desserts - The Budino (which is more like a chocolate tort than a pudding) and the Tiramisu. Both wonderful. If Milton's wasn't over an hour from our house, it would become a regular on the rotation. But it is definitely good enough to warrant many return visits.
