First Watch is an American breakfast and brunch cafe where everything is made to order and freshness is never compromised. I found out about this restaurant on Yelp. Walking in to the place, I saw it was PACKED. I asked the host if I could be seated outside and she kindly obliged. I know, I'm crazy for wanting to sit outside in the Houston heat, but their outdoor seatings were luckily covered with patio umbrellas. I ordered the Morning Meditation juice and the Ancient Grains Protein Bowl. The Morning Meditation is made with orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar, and beet. It had pretty colorful layers of red and orange and it was tangy and sweet. The flavors of the ginger and beet were subtle. When the server brought out the Ancient Grains Protein Bowl, a group of girls were walking by and one of them said, "Dang! We should have ate here. That plate looks good!" I couldn't have agreed with her more and replied saying "Shantay you stay!" The Ancient Grains Protein Bowl consist of quinoa, farro and brown rice topped with two poached cage-free eggs, all-natural chicken breast, fresh avocado, lemon white balsamic vinaigrette and super seed crunch. It also came with kale, watermelon radish and a house-pickled onion salad. I was surprised they gave me an entire avocado sliced. I know how expensive avocados can be, so I was bit shook. I never knew something that looked so healthy could taste so good. Everything on my plate tasted lovely. My favorite part of the dish were the brown rice and the chicken breast with the eggs. The holy trinity! I am now obsessed with this place. I'd love to go back to try their best-selling Spring favorite, Millionaire's Bacon. First Watch is only open for breakfast and brunch. I wanted to love this place so badly. Our first visit was excellent, the avocado toast was out of this world. Although it was on the pricey side for breakfast, but the food was good. The 2nd (and last) visit wasn't so great. We asked for eggs cooked over medium and they brought out over cooked eggs. Asked for them to remake them, then they brought out over cooked eggs again, but this time in a pool of oil. At this point, the appetite was long gone. We asked for the check, and guess what? They charged for everything although they knew very well we were unhappy with the food. It doesn't matter how good a place is, if it's not consistent and if the service isn't great. If i could give zero stars, i would. Cmer service at this location is horrible. I approached the host stand to get a table and the hostess was chatting away with a guest just catching up. She didn't have the courtesy to tell us to wait for a table. She just looked at us and kept talking. I stood there for 10min without any acknowledgement until i finally asked if i could be seated. The hostess, with an attitude, said she was waiting for a table to be cleared - there was more than 5 tables cleared and ready for seating. Then proceded to say she is the manager and asked me if i wanted a booth. I said yes. She then sat us at a regular table. I tried to try this place, but was unsuccessful. My wife and I went to First Watch on a Wednesday just before lunch. The brusque hostess promptly seated us and gave us menus. The place was not busy at all; about 8 other tables were occupied. My wife and I perused the menu, decided what we wanted, and many minutes passed. Servers walked by our table repeatedly, and no one brought us water, greeted us, or took our order. We wondered aloud if we were invisible. After nearly 15 minutes of waiting, having been ignored the whole time, we left. Never again. UPDATE: After being contacted by the apologetic manager, we came back and our experience was much more positive. I was impressed with the freshness of the food. I prefer vegetable and fruit dishes, and First Watch offers an abundance of these. My companion said their meats are also tasty. The service was prompt and enthusiastic. read more

First time at First Watch with a friend who recommend this chain. Atmosphere was bright and roomy - went on a weekday before noon so it was busy but not packed. Parking can be hard sometimes since the parking lot of the shopping strip is small. We were seated immediately. Waiter was friendly - although they didn't explain why we had 2 waiters. We assumed one was training the other but a little explanation would be nice too. We ordered some coffee, shared a detox juice, and each ordered a plate. I ordered the Skillet hash - farmhouse and it was amazing. Food tasted so good and filled me up (and we were hungry!) Only reason why I took off a star because the bill was on the heavier side for me. We split it down the middle. With tip the bill came out closer to $20 but that's also because we ordered drinks too. The food here is pretty good. Lots of superfoods and healthy choices. Better selection than your typical breakfast place. The restaurant was clean and service was friendly. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the morning meditation, kale tonic, the Trifecta, and Everything Benedict. My husband preferred the taste of the kale tonic because he didn't care for the turmeric in the morning meditation juice. The restaurant was busy, but not packed at 9:30 am on a Saturday. After being here several times, I left yet again completely disappointed. Eggs Benedict, Florentine. Eggs completely over cooked. Should have known that when they give you a steak knife for eggs Benedict they'd something off. The spinach an after thought. 1/2 of then potatoes were cold and under cooked. Last time orders avocado toast. Can't screw that up right? Avocado tasted like lime and lime only. Who knew that they don't "toast" their toast. Don't waste a trip. read more

I have to say, I was pretty excited when I saw they were opening a First Wattch in my neighborhood. I had tried the restaurant while on vacation in Florida and was really impressed. Finally got the chance to try it today and was not disappointed. The place isn't that big, but has a decent size patio for the cooler days. After waiting just 5 minutes we were greeted by our waiter before even getting to the table. He was all over us in a good way. Making great suggestions on seasonal drinks and meals. So the first time I was here they were not busy at all matter fact they were quite dead I was the only one in here. Today Sunday they are very busy and about to go on a wait at 10 in the morning. Menu selection is still good not common items but the prices are a little high for these uncommon items. Service so far is about partook us a few minutes for our server to come visit but the coffee is good they do have flavored creamers which is a positive for a lot of people. Again the menu is not your common breakfast menus and prices are a little high we'll see how the food fares. Coffee pot is left at the table and there's plenty of coffee in it unlike some places where they leave the copy at the table but there's barely enough for a second cup. I like how the water is served, it is served in milk jugs old fashioned milk jugs left at the table and you can fill your water if you want or not. The food is very good and there are a few things that strike me as odd but pleasantly surprising. Omelets are served with a salad and believe it or not the salad is really good with breakfast. It's now 10:15 in the morning and it's full swing busy in here. Most items here seem to be geared towards a healthier lifestyle the bread is a thick multigrain bread very good and again the field green salad served with breakfast is a really nice touch. Overall I see no reason not to give it 4 stars I can't think of a reason why I don't give five star but I reserve five star for just outstanding everything so I'm just going to stick with this 4 for now read more

Stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday. Service was prompt and our waiter was very friendly. I had the lunch option with the soup of the day (Italian wedding soup) and the half sandwich (roast beef and havarti). Food came out quickly and sandwich was tasty and fresh. This location has fabulous staff! My server was Valentin and he was very pleasant to speak with and knowledgeable regarding the menu. I had the barbacoa tacos and they were so delicious! I had a hard time making up my mind. My mom got the corn hash and we sampled off each others plate. I would definitely recommend popping by for the corn hash as well! I love the healthy choice menu. The food was good, it could have come out a bit warmer. I got the Tri-athlete and the flavors was delicious. My daughter got the Tri-fecta with waffles and poached eggs. I tried her waffle and it was great but since everything was barely warm the butter never melted. Service was good and the ambience is uplifting. I used the restroom and my advice to restaurants that have no gender restrooms is please keep them clean. When a woman sits on a toilet it is horrible to notice a man missed the bowl especially when it's too late to do do anything about it. My first time going to this first watch. It was amazing. The banana granola multigrain pancake is to die for! Great atmosphere, it's really clean. Service is really impeccable! Our server was *KJ* , real cool and polite dude. Mimosas are delicious! Fresh squeezed juice. I'm currently in the process of a life style change and I love how many healthy and delicious options there are. Thank prices are reasonable. I'm not going to lie, breakfast turned into brunch today lol. We ordered the Tri athlete, the traditional, and the coffee is actually really good. In addition to the food being good.
