I don't even know what to say really. This location shouldn't be associated with the name. They are slow as ever on cooking food AND the servers are lacking as well. It was so terrible they comped the entire table. Although that was appreciated, it just doesn't chance the experience. There was no hostess to be found on arrival so me and a few other parties waited a solid five minutes for someone to greet us. I don't understand what the hype is about these restaurants! I've been to 3 different locations in 2 different states and have never enjoyed the experience. I thought maybe I had tried one that was sub-par or happened to go on a bad day. But I won't try another one again. They all seem to be very popular because they are always very busy, and there is always a wait time. Each time I I went, the food arrived barely warm. The 1st time I went, I ordered just a muffin and coffee. The muffin was. actually cold, as if it was stored in the refrigerator! I asked for it to be heated, so they cut in half and grilled it. I asked for butter, and it was too hard to spread. Other times, I've ordered a full breakfast and once for a sandwich, Luke warm and unremarkable. The exact location is in the new Whole Foods shopping plaza that also houses other places such as Taqueria Del Sol and Zoe's Kitchen. That being said, heed the warnings about two things...parking and wait times! Parking can be tough bc this shopping center is busy at most times, so be prepared to walk across the parking lot in order to get in. And then there is the wait times - if you do not take advantage of the NoWait app or the Yelp's waitlist feature, be prepared to wait a minimum of 45 minutes on a weekend day to get sat. After the wait, you get to enjoy the fresh, hot, decently priced and tasty food/drinks! I have been to First Watch on multiple occasions and I can say that I have never been upset with the food after leaving. This time around I ended up with the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy sided with cheese scrambled eggs. My partner had the classic breakfast with pancakes, meat, eggs and toast. We both left fat and happy for sure! This was just our first visit to this location, and due to its exact location, service level, pricing and food quality - we will definitely return in the future! The first brunch spot where I am comfortable to step out of the breakfast zone. I tried this restaurant before for a Yelp CYE event and was excited to have another chance to visit. I was so excited to have the Kale tonic and that says a lot for me. This time around I used the NoWait app to get me on the waitlist because it was a busy Sunday morning. The food is fine, not great, the dining room is really nice, but the service is always a little off. This is my second time going to First Watch with several months in between and I believe the food keeps getting better. I am a fan of hot meals in a bowl with sunny side (or poached) eggs on the top. Yaaass! I ordered their Skillet Hash - Parma which is: Two cage-free eggs any style atop fresh, seasoned potatoes, Italian sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with melted Parmesan, Mozzarella and fresh herbs. Served with whole grain artisan toast. See photo for reference. The bowl ($10.99) with (literally) fresh OJ ($3.69) came to $15.85 with tax which is not bad. I do have one tiny complaint and\ take note because this might help you. I arrived around 9:10 am but wait time was 25-35 minutes. I was seeing people walking in after me and getting a table before me. I got annoyed (don't judge me, I was hungry) so I asked the hostess (in a friendly manner) and she explained that there's an App that allows you to "GET IN LINE" without having to be present. It would've been good to know that in advance, maybe the hostess should explain it to people when they walk in. They also have a community table which is first come first serve, I ended up doing that and "canceling" my reservation. Nevertheless, it seems like their waiting times are accurate. And for the conclusion: food is delicious, portions are just how I like it and well balanced, service is friendly and fast, and you won't have issues with parking. This place seems very clean. I'm here at 8:30am. I was seated right away and my food didn't take long to come. I ordered a shrimp and grits. I feel the grits were pretty bland and watery tasting. After a short period, we were seated in their heated & covered patio which was less noisy than the inside seating and had a nice breeze to it. Our service was mediocre since our server took quite some time to greet us, bring our drinks and check up on us during our meal. It also took ~40 mins for our food to come out so take that as you will. I didn't mind too much since my friends & I were all catching up. Food was mediocre as well. Don't get me wrong, everything looked great & tasted delicious; There's just nothing that separates it from any other brunch restaurant. This is a chain brunch place which surprisingly serves better food than one would expect. This is one of their new locations in a newly built strip mall. Food was fine, I cannot say it is the best since there are very good alternatives out there, even for chains. Milliondollar bacon is a sure place to start. It consists of four slices of well cooked bacon with copious amounts of pepper and maple syrup drizzled on it. I would definitely get it again though I have to say the pepper wasn't evenly spread out so some bites were packed with a punch. Avocado toast was a bit disappointing, given the "toast" wasn't actually toast. A lot of avocado though! It was served with two eggs sunny side up on the side, which were fine. Quinoa bowls were good, with a good amount of chicken and this amazing sauce on top. I'd say this is one of my favorite dishes here given how simple and light it was. It was tasty and not bland like some quinoa dishes. Kale tonic, yes kale I usually hate it, but this time it was quite amazing, mostly cause I couldn't taste the kale (thanks to the fiji apple juice). It was an extremely refreshing drink, though a little excessive on the ice cubes. Pimento cheese sandwich with ham and tomato was excellent. The buttered toast was well done, looking at you avocado toast. Honestly, not too much more I can talk about this is, it was a pretty straight forward sandwich, which would be well complemented with some homemade tomato soup. Ricotta pancakes with lemon curd, was amazing. I'm not the biggest fan of pancakes but the lemon curd sealed the deal. It is served with warm syrup on the side which was great and topped with a few fresh fruits. It was very fluffy and definitely didn't seem that heavy compared to others. I used to go to First Watch a lot while living in Florida. So nice to have this chain in ATL. Most "chain" breakfast/brunch spots are mostly heavy items and not any lighter/healthier options with probably some sketchy ingredients. Then comes First Watch- they use local ingredients when they can. FRESH baked goods, no pre-made batters, and healthier options. Plus, anything is fairly customizable. I opted for the trip-fecta (my old favorite) and instead of a waffle I got a carrot cake pancake. Talk about FRESH! Loved how the carrots in the pancake still had a slice bite/crunch making such a great textured pancake. Such friendly staff and efficient operating of this location. The biggest issue is that if you go here for breakfast it may be lunch by the time you get your food Management desperately needs to bring in a consultant to look at their processes and organizational structure. Right now they aren't seating all their tables due to "staff shortages" but as someone who has worked in the restaurant business, there are plenty of workers to handle the full restaurant. In addition, their handling of takeout orders is atrocious. Today my order wasn't ready until 25 min after the "expected" ready time I was quoted and there were 5 other people who I saw get their takeout food in front of me with the same type issue. About halfway thru my meal Alisha checked in on me. I wondered how quickly I might get an order of bacon..."Million dollar bacon or our regular fabulous bacon?" she asked. Sensing that I'd never heard of MDB, her eyes lit up as she quietly advised ..."you want the million dollar bacon".... Million dollar bacon it is! It came out in just a few minutes...WOW! . Perfectly cooked, a little crispy...a little chewy. Still maintaining great bacon flavor, they've cooked it in a maple syrup/brown sugar glaze (Im just guessing) and dusted it with black pepper and a hint of finely chopped green onions. Way worth trying! I was thinking Id save a strip for my friend back at the office...lol nope, that didn't happen. They've checked in on me several times and genuinely interested, not just asking, so thats nice. Amazing healthy food! It's very hard to find a restaurant with "healthy" options. Many restaurants advertise being healthy but when it comes down to it they aren't. First Watch has so many healthy options from the amazing Kale Tonic to the delightful Healthy Turkey egg white omelet.
