My daughter and elderly mom visited for a breakfast date, and while the food was as great as always, they had an unfortunate service experience. Their server (she didn't give a receipt so I could note her name but she is Indian) seemed noticeably friendlier with other tables (white customers), which made them feel a bit dismissed. Service was poor enough that my mom chose not to leave a tip, and the server confronted her about it, which felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. My mom ended up leaving a $5 tip after being confronted. We've never had this issue at this location before, and they still enjoyed the food--hopefully this was just an isolated incident and management can address it. read more

My friend ate at this Waffle House on July 5 and became extremely sick afterward. They were later diagnosed with salmonella, and this was a very scary experience. While it's impossible for me to know exactly where it came from, the timing has made us very concerned about the food safety at this location. Friday the fam and I had a craving for the Waffle House and of course we went to our favorite one! I love this Waffle House for so many reasons...so let's get into it! First off once you walk in you always feel welcomed and it feels like family. For my mom and son it is because we use to live across the street and this was their spot when I was at work lol anyway back to business, the staff is always so bright and welcoming, almost everyone speaks as you walk in and I love that. This was my first visit to a Waffle House in over a year, and I had a great experience! There were only 5 customers at the most at any given time eating in the restaurant while I was here, so social distancing was easy to maintain. Others dropped in to pick up their called in orders, but they were waiting no more than 5 minutes. Parking was easy to find right in front of Waffle House. As I walked up to the restaurant, signs with bar codes were posted on the glass windows. If customers scanned the bar code, they could get the Waffle House menu on their phone eliminating the need to handle physical menus, so I scanned the code and started looking at the menu. I was immediately greeted with a "Welcome to Waffle House" as I walked in. I looked around and noticed all of the employees were wearing face masks, and all of the booths were separated by tall plexiglass attached to the backs of the bench seats. The counter and tall counters looked like it was up to individual customers to social distance from each other. The air conditioning temp was turned down low, but that was okay with me because I run hot and it also meant that the air was continuously circulating. A server quickly walked over to me as soon as I sat at a booth away from others. I had already decided what I wanted, so I ordered a hash brown bowl with hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese and some gravy on top (don't judge)! It took about 10 minutes for my early lunch to be served. The food was piping hot and oh so good. Even with the a/c turned down low, my food never got cold, maybe because I ate it quickly. I feel I got a generous helping of food. The hash browns were crispy on the edges and softer in the middle. The eggs were scrambled and well done but still fluffy. The gravy had a slightly salty and sausage-y flavor and a nice thick (but not too thick) consistency, and my server didn't scrimp on the amount of gravy she ladled onto the eggs and hash browns. I have been visiting this location for over 20 years. I am crying because I have to take my medicine that requires food. I ordered 3 eggs with cheese a side of bacon and 1 piece of Texas toast. Now you know eggs with cheese are supposed to be fluffy not runny. I cannot taste the cheese unless the cheese is the scorched part on the eggs. I guess the guy was new and he had no help this morning. But I am so disappointed. Sorry, but he needs more training as I would hate to see this location go down because of the cooking. The service was great as always, the little lady tried to calm my anxiety and it worked and I said oh no worries he's new. But even new people know how to make scrambled eggs with cheese. As far as Waffle Houses go, this one is just like what you expect from any other Waffle House. Same delicious menu, same staff shouting orders to the cook, same set up. But what makes this location special is the staff. Many of them have worked at this location for years and years. They remember you and they are so very sweet. They do everything they can to make sure you have an enjoyable WaHo experience, right from the moment they welcome you when walking in the door. This is even a location that does the special Valentine's Day service, which is so sweet. I also think the chef is amongst the best Waffle House chefs out there. Every time my order is perfection - crunchy hashbrowns, perfectly toasted Texas Toast, crisp delicious bacon, eggs actually cooked exactly how you order them. I am lucky enough to have access to several Waffle Houses near my house but time and time again, I choose this one because of the fabulous service and great food cooked to order. For COVID precautions, you can order in by phone and walk up to the door to collect your order. Fun fact: I've ordered several times and my order has always been 100% accurate and perfectly cooked. I personally go in and quickly pay, but I'm pretty sure you can arrange alternate payment if they aren't busy. There are partitions in the restaurant and the high top bar only seats 2 people now, with much of the bar being blocked off for the register. Always have had a pleasant experience here. Picking up a to-go order since the other nearby waffle houses could not take to go orders. So it's pretty reliable here. Although they told me 10-15 minutes, when I got there 15 minutes later, it seems like they just started making the food. I still had to wait 10-15 minutes. Also the restaurant wasn't completely full. I stopped by tonight and yes they were on a limited menu due to the snow but tonight the cook was awful. We were 1 of 3 tables and one Togo order and our food came in shifts (keep in mind limited menu so nothing complicated) most of the food was ice cold or barely cooked (runny scrambled eggs and half cooked bacon)... On 9/18/22 an employee of this restaurant just refused to serve us ... Would Not Take Our Orders until we threatened to call the corporate office. They continued to be so weird that we just left as it seemed the situation could turn harmful to us at any moment : They were not busy at all. There were more servers & cooks at this time of the day than clients as it was around 2:10 in the afternoon. We had been in the restaurant for a while. When we asked one of the employees as to who should take our order, he pointed to a person & then went to her & tapped her on her back to get her attention concerning us but she pretended that she did not see him, hear him or feel the tap. She was a young large white lady with a blue top that the workers said did not usually work there. The manager was a lady too & when we tried to talk to her, she got defensive & weird too. It was the strangest experience that I have ever had at a restaurant. I actually started to feel UNSAFE so we did not eat anything & just left! I guess I made if fancy shmancy (for WH) by adding blueberries, pecans, and chocolate chips. My friend also ordered a waffle as part of their meal. When the waffles came they were done on one side but not the other and they didn't taste done. So they were sent back. It went downhill from there.
