Side of okra $7
Greg K.

Tried this Marlow's in Brookhaven for lunch today. It had been a few years since I visited a Marlow's and never this location. Very light lunch crowd. Service was quick and efficient. Nice relaxed quiet atmosphere. The menu seems limited. Not anywhere near the choices they had when I visited a Marlow's in the past. I elected to go with an app and a side instead of a burger or sandwich. Shrimp and crab nachos for $12.70 is a fairly small appetizer. It is 8 chips. But each is really loaded with a cheesy seafood dip. It is good but more of a dip than shrimp or crab. Most places would put the dip in a bowl and double the chips. But it works this way. My side of okra at $7 was nice. Generous portion of whole fried okra. Cooked lightly so they were still crisp. No frozen here these tasted fresh. The only thing I would add to the okra is a dipping sauce. Some thousand island/ranch or "special sauce" would have paired nicely with the okra. Add a soft drink for $3.25 and tip and lunch comes in at almost $30, which is what you pay for a nice quiet break for an hour. But I can't afford that every day. It was good. Nothing exceptional but nice. I wouldn't mind coming back.

Dirty cherry soda

We just had our first visit to Marlow's and were so impressed! From the moment we walked in, we were treated with such kindness and great service. As first-time guests, they surprised us with a complimentary potato chip appetizer--super tasty and such a nice touch! I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My husband had the brisket grilled cheese, which he loved, especially with the seasoned fries (which were seriously addicting). Our daughter had the chicken panini and gave it two thumbs up! I also had a dirty cherry cola and it was so refreshing--sweet, fizzy, and the perfect pairing with the meal. Service was impeccable--our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. You can tell this place really cares about their guests. We're already looking forward to coming back. Great food, great service, and a great overall experience. Highly recommend giving Marlow's a try if you haven't yet!

Shrimp and oily cold grits

Visiting Atlanta for business I was so excited to see shrimp and grits (Northern girl who used to work in ATL) that I immediately placed a delivery order! I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, Parm Crab Dip, Tavern Wings and 2 San pellegrino waters. First I noticed no waters in my delivery. I called the driver who said sorry but that was it. Ok, nothing to drink with dinner. At least delivery was fast! Then I noticed none of the containers felt hot or even warm. The crab dip was a congealed solid mass. It came with plenty of saltines but little dip and it looked like something that had been sitting around. Pass. The wings looked sad, small, cold and dry. I ate one and tossed the rest. They had no seasoning, and simply tasted oily. Finally opened my beloved shrimp and grits. The delivery container had 2 sides - one side with 2 sad little grit patties and the other a pile of shrimp in what looked like an oily butter sauce. Having traveled all day and simply being starving at this point with no other options I mixed these 2 cold sides together and ate what I could. I never knew food could make you sad, but I am simply sad.

Chicken Cesar salad

Cames to Marlow's to try out their new happy hour menu and was very pleased with the whole experience. They have some nice, festive drinks to choose from and we had the sliders and brussel sprouts to share as apps. We really liked both of them, and would definitely recommend them! I had the French dip for my entree while my boyfriend had a Cesar salad and they were both great as well. The French dip was super juicy and the salads were delicious, the only critique was that there wasn't enough chicken on the Cesar salad to make a full meal. Funny enough, I tried marlow's once 10-15 years ago and hated it, but I'm so glad I gave it another try as an adult because this time was amazing!

Up until I went to this restaurant for a work dinner, I never paid much attention to it because I didn't think they had any vegan options for me but I came to see they had a few, and they were mostly delicious! I only got a picture of the hummus, with harissa veggies and some raw cucumbers/carrots. I also tried their Tortilla Salad and their Buddha Bowl. The hummus was definitely my favorite, with the salad being a close second. That dressing was soooo good, I asked for one to take home so I could use it on one of my own salads! The Buddha bowl I didn't like at all, it was way too vinegary for me and there wasn't much flavor. The other thing is that I wish they had more vegan options, especially entree ones because there weren't many options for me to choose from. They have indoor, and outdoor seating under a tent with some heaters, but you probably won't need the heaters this time of year! They have a fully-functioning bar, where I got to have a Tommy's Favorite White Sangria which was very good and sweet. There is parking right in front of the building which made it easy to get to. Customer service was amazing! We had a large group with one host and they were patient with everyone, taking their time to listen to all the needs and wants. Orders were all correct, they did a phenomenal job. The food came out in a timely manner and tasted fresh! Check them out!

We came here for dinner yesterday. In my opinion, this place has so much more potential, but, for me, it was just OK. The parking situation is great! It looks like parking is readily available in the large and free parking lot. We walked into Marlow's, and waited a couple of minutes for someone to seat us. Most of the indoor dining and bar areas were empty, and I believe there were some customers dining in the outdoor covered patio area to the side of the restaurant. The thing that was pretty obvious to me was that that it was dark inside the restaurant, too dark for my liking. Most of the indoor seating are in comfortable booths, but they don't offer that much room for customers with bigger bellies. A few minutes after we were seated by the host in one of the booths and given menus, our server took our drink orders. About 5 minutes later, she brought our drinks and took our food orders. I ordered the Tavern Burger (Our Classic, Simple and Seasoned Perfectly, Romaine, Red Onion, Roma Tomato, Tomato Bacon Jam, Sesame Brioche Roll), and R ordered the Banh Mi Wrap (Glazed Chicken, Napa Cabbage, Cucumber, Cilantro, Vietnamese Sweet & Spicy Firecracker Sauce, Grilled Tortilla). 25 minutes later, our food was served by a food runner. I'm not sure why the food took so long, especially since I didn't see very much food coming out of the kitchen (I was able to see the activity of food leaving the kitchen). The burger looked great! The thick beef patty was cooked as I requested (medium well), but had a "dry" texture and was almost flavorless. The bun had a nice flavor and was perfect. Halfway through eating my burger, I noticed that tomato hadn't been put in my burger, but I didn't mention this to our server. The side Caesar salad that I had ordered as part of the burger meal was very light on the dressing. I was going to ask the server for more dressing for me to put on the salad myself, and some mayo to help add some needed moisture, but she didn't come back around, and I just kept slowly eating my meal until it was gone. The last thing I tried was the small slice of pickle, which I spit out because it tasted like it was going bad. When the server finally came back to our table to check on us, I told her about the pickle tasting awful, and she told me that it was a sour pickle. I'm glad they put it on the side and hadn't sliced it up and put it on the burger. R liked his banh mi wrap, but didn't like that the service started out great then went downhill quickly. By the end of our meal, we were left waiting for a while, and only got our check after waving over the host and another server.

Wonderful Manhattan tonight. Exquisite drink menu with very nice wine selection, crafted drinks, and craft beers. Wonderful moderately priced menu with great selection. Warm, inviting environment.

I am beyond satisfied with my visit to Marlow's. From the food to the service to the music and vibes, I enjoyed every minute there. Jordan was my bartender and she was absolutely amazing and helped me decide on what to order to eat and drink. I ended up getting the chicken panini and asparagus fries. SO GOOD. I will definitely be back.

I ordered a pickup/to-go order, and in that order I asked for an adult serving of the plain chicken tenders. When I got there I read the check, and it said I had been charged for hot-wings. I asked the employee about it and he said it was just the charge, and when I confirmed it was the plain chicken tenders, he agreed. When I got home, I found it was not the plain chicken tenders, but instead Hot Wings, but instead of wings, it was tenders. Not only did they get my order wrong, but they lied when I confirmed my order, and charged me incorrectly.

With a limited menu, how can they run out of French dip sandwich at 6 pm? Go back to the original bread and have the food on the menu.

Great seafood and service!…read more Let's get into it! Location and Parking Located in Chamblee, there is plenty of free parking available as it is in a shopping center. I saw previous reviews mentioning that parking was a challenge, however I visited on a weekday so I didn't have that issue. Venue and Atmosphere The interior is sleek yet casual, with plenty of sunlight from floor to ceiling windows. Feel free to browse the selection of fresh seafood as you enter. Food and drinks I visited with friends and we shared several appetizers: oxtail gumbo, salmon bites, grilled oysters. They were all delicious and flavorful. Service Service was friendly, prompt, and efficient Verdict I'll be back!

Wow--let's talk about this dining experience…read more The oxtail gumbo? My first time trying it, and definitely not my last. Every bite was rich, comforting, and fully satisfying. Then came the salmon bites on wonton--crispy, flavorful, and such a perfect balance of texture. For the entrée, the pasta with salmon was not only delicious but a generous portion that didn't miss. And for something sweet... the bread pudding? So moist, topped with ice cream and Oreos--it was giving indulgence in the best way. But what really sealed the night for me was the coffee pairing. It took the show and brought everything together beautifully. I also loved the range of the menu--there's something for every craving. The service was excellent, and the food presentation matched the quality. Honestly had me thinking, what took me so long to dine here? Especially since I'm in this area often. Bonus: patio seating for outdoor season, plus easy access with self-parking, valet, or a parking deck.

He even assisted us in buying a piece on display from a local artist. As yes, they have local art up on display - a great idea for a restaurant! Note for parking: use the valet. At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!

I found…read morethem on Yelp a week or so before and ended up making a reservation on their website the next day. I'm so glad we listened to the other reviews and gave them a visit because our entire table of four had a lovely time. We started with drinks and I settled on a glass of wine. They had the exact type of sauvignon blanc that I wanted, which was an immediate win. As a group we settled on the whipped goat cheese and brussel sprouts for appetizers. The brussel sprouts came with bacon so I steered clear, but the others raved about them. The whipped goat cheese dip was also a nice choice with the garden veggies. Super creamy and refreshing. As for my entree I went with risotto of the week with salmon. It was absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. We had a birthday in the group so we of course had to get desserts. We shared the creme brulee and this super decadent chocolate cake. Both with fresh berries, love! The creme brulee was definitely my favorite of the two, but you can't go wrong. As for the space itself, it's beautiful. It gave off a sort of a modern farmhouse vibe with the wood and brick. With the twinkle lights and earthy touches bringing it all together. Our service was also on point. Jackson was awesome (as you can see in the other reviews) and kept the good vibes flowing all night. I would definitely come here again.

The Ashford is a pretty nice place to grab either brunch, lunch, or dinner! We came around 7, so we had dinner. You can sit outside or inside, the weather was really nice, but we just wanted to sit inside in the AC. I got a glass of the bieler rose, which was recommended by our server. My wife got the lavender daydreams cocktail, which was really good! We all shared the chicken spring rolls and the burrata bruschetta. Both were really good! The chicken spring rolls were in a rice paper, and not the usual wonton paper. I don't usually like the rice paper spring rolls, but these ones weren't too bad. For our main, me and my wife got the chicken schnitzel. They even split it on two different plates for us too, which was nice of them to do. It was SO GOOD. Pretty sure I inhaled mine! We also shared the mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese was soooooo good. It was a pimento mac and cheese, and had herbed breadcrumbs. Chef's kiss! The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars, is because our food took FOREVER to come out. There were some larger parties, so I do get it, but this was like 30-45 minutes forever. Also, I can't remember which dish, but one of the dishes me and my wife got was cold, so we asked to send it back to get a warmer version, which they did. They comped this off the bill, which was nice. That didn't bother me as much as the food coming out so late. Had that not been the case, I would've given this review 5 stars! The food was really really good. We would definitely still come back in the future!

It's on toward the end of the shopping strip so it's not hard to find. You'll look at the building and there are some indoor and outdoor seats for you, and it's very neat and clean. Coming inside it's a lot bigger than what you would expect. They have a wall of wine, as they should, they have a back room where they do tastings, and not like four tables that are set up. They have like tastings and cooking lessons as well so there's tables and stoves and all sorts of things. They have a full kitchen with a kitchen menu that I hear. The fool was pretty good. They have a very limited selection of liquor but there is liquor there. They have a cocktail menu, again. It's kind of limited, but they can pretty much make whatever you need. But the show the spotlight is going to be on the wine selections. Wish they had plenty of them. I was picking out a wine to try and she definitely helped and gave good advice and led me in a good direction. She was awesome. Now they have a wine club. This wine club is pretty good, so I may consider trying it. I'm already part of wine club elsewhere, but this one might be a little bit different. For the wine club you pay a price and you get about four bottles of wine, but you also get to do all of the tastings as well. You get the good a membership discount if you bring people in to dine-in as well. There's a lot that goes into it. There should be a picture of it in my review so check that out. Oddly enough, they also have trips that they go on for people who want to visit different wine venues. It's really surprising because that isn't a small thing to take group trips to some random part to sample wine. But if you're a wine drinker, and you have the the money to spend, this would be cool to be around like-minded people. They really have a lot to offer! I thought it was a really good random walk-in for me, I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was good, the selections were really good, the customer service was really good, it was great on all parts.
