I visited the restaurant for Easter brunch. We enjoyed the British influenced decor. The food was good and the service was outstanding!

Spicy Rigatoni
Renee P.

Dropped in after work to get a bite to eat and our server was amazing. I've never been there before so she recommended some things and everything she recommended was delicious. We had the garlic toast with salmon dip. It was a nice mix of salty with a hint of sweet and garlic it didn't sound good, to me but I tired it and it was delicious. The salmon was good and the rigatoni was delicious. Just a hint of spice. Normally, I would pick the star of the dishes I had but they were all stars!! I will definitely be back.

What an absolute gem in Sandy Springs! After hearing rave reviews about the food, service, and atmosphere, I finally attended an event here--and it exceeded every expectation. The layout was incredibly organized and spacious; I loved how the food was beautifully presented both indoors and on the covered patio. The setup was perfect, featuring a casino area on one side, live music on the other, and a central bar that kept the energy flowing. The menu was exceptional. Highlights included the high-quality roasted salmon, the soft pretzels with provolone fondue, crispy Brussels sprouts, and the Asian crunch salad. And the fried chicken was Fabulous, a complete standout! Mississippi mud pie for dessert was to die for !!! Between the outstanding service and the vibrant ambiance, this is the perfect spot for a casual meal or a major milestone celebration. Highly recommended!!

Marinated Olives

My husband and I were staying overnight in the area and I decided on Culinary Dropout. We were greeted immediately after walking through the door and were seated. This restaurant is really nice and large and the ambiance on a Tuesday afternoon was great. We started with the marinated olives and they were good. My husband had Steak Frites and said everything was really good. I went with the waitress recommendation and got the Roasted Salmon. It was terrific!! I also ordered the Giddy Up Espresso Martini, which was a recommendation and it was good. We will definitely have to return whenever we're in the area again.

Famous fried chicken with coleslaw, mashed potato, and a biscuit

Hubby and I happened to be in the neighborhood and hungry today. Culinary Dropout popped up on Yelp, and the name definitely piqued our interest. We opted to sit on the patio to enjoy this beautiful cool day and were fortunate enough to have Amberlou assigned as our server. We started with the crusty bread & olive oil, which was AH-mazing! Hubby even commented on how it is better than most of the upscale Italian spots we've been to and I have to agree. We also got the pimento cheese, which was delicious but I did find it kind of odd that it wasn't paired with anything like crackers or bread, etc. (note to owners: please consider changing this). We had ordered the crusty bread, so we ate it with that but if we hadn't ordered the bread, I probably would have been disappointed to just have a small serving of the pimento cheese with nothing to put it on. Aside from that, however, everything was really top notch. I ordered the ham & egg grilled cheese, which came with the breakfast potatoes, but I also added a side of the house potato chips because I really wanted to try them and they did not disappoint. The sandwich was tasty and perfectly assembled. I normally don't like breakfast potatoes but these were good and crispy. I think the house potato chips with the fantastic onion dip that comes with it is probably my favorite thing on the menu, but I also loved the famous fried chicken that hubby ordered. My sandwich was solid too, but I think his chicken was better, so obviously I only finished half of my sandwich so that I could steal some of his chicken. LOL The portions of everything were very generous, so sharing was easy and we still had plenty left over to take home with us. Amberlou offered spectacular service! She had a great attitude, was highly attentive without being overbearing, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them (I LOVE when my drinks are refilled before I have to ask, which is an underrated server supowerpower imo). We will definitely be back and I will go out of my way to sit in Amberlou's section because she helped to elevate our already wonderful experience even further. The menu options are somewhat limited, but I think this may be why the food is so good. Some restaurants stretch themselves too thin and offer a wide variety of choices for food that is just mediocre. Culinary Dropout offers a small variety of choices for food that is cooked to perfection. It is a little on the pricey side, but the experience lived up to the price point, so at least it was well worth the splurge. The location is not exactly convenient for us, but this place is worth going out of the way to come back to, so we are looking forward to another visit sometime soon.

House salad + steak

Well, I wanted to love this place.. but the food fell short. Service with our large group was great. Drinks stayed full all night. However, food fell flat. Menu was literally a page plus 1/3 of another page. Booze was the other 2/3 of the page + an entire other page + a one page special drink menu. Apps were decent but my issue was with the entree - I ordered the house salad with steak. Steak was cooked how I wanted but the salad was gross. Didn't have half the things the menu said it would.. and was covered in a very bland dressing. All and all, I wouldn't recommend nor come back ‍

Old Fashioned

We enjoyed our dinner here tonight. It can be somewhat of a challenge to find parking but we found it., we made reservations. They have outdoor and indoor dining and we dined indoor. The outdoor dining was all reserved. Our server was Jonathan who was excellent. He is amazing at his job and deserves special mention and merit. We adored the soft pretzel dippers and provolone fondue. How could you go wrong with that combination? The Brussels were also a great and remarkably filling appetizer. I made the right choice with the Mongolian Beef Short Rib. Though it can come off as a little salty, the beef is so tender. They accommodated by request of frying my egg hard instead of a soft-boiled option. This dish was trike filling. They have a stellar version of the Old-Fashioned that accompanied my meal well. It was sweet, spicy, and so smooth. Great spot! It's a new fave. Bravo!

What a surprise! Lots of free parking and when you walk up to the entrance it's a beautiful sight of greenery and beautiful fairy lights. The server (I wish I had her name) was really sweet and attentive. The food came out fast and was delicious. No complaints at all. It was not busy when we went so we were able to sit and just chat without pressure to move quickly. The ambiance is dark and relaxing but also kinda sexy I'll definitely visit here again

The food was delicious and service was great. The atmosphere is good for families, friends or a date night. It in a great area where you can continue to hang out after your meal.

Smokehouse hash roasted bbq pork, crispy potato, charred onion, poblano pepper, sunny side up egg (changed to fried), flour tortilla
Robin G.

We were at the mall nearby and stopped in for lunch. We were seated right away and opted for the enclosed patio with lots of natural light. Later we discovered that dogs are allowed on the patio. We started with the pretzels and fondue but quickly regretted the choice. The server recommended the popcorn shrimp appetizer ($18) which turned out to be a great option. The shrimp and aioli were both seasoned well. We also started with a classic Caesar salad ($13) which was pretty standard and tasted fine. We decided to take our server's recommendation for our meals too and got the pub burger with fries ($20) and the smokehouse hash ($17) which was from the brunch menu. The potato hash came with bbq pork, onion, poblano pepper and an egg with a flour tortilla on the side. Both were delicious and very flavorful. Our server Shanelle was great and patiently accommodated several requests we made with a smile. Interestingly the waitstaff appeared to wear their own street clothes, no restaurant branded shirts, aprons or name tags. We ended up not getting dessert after 2 large and noisy dogs were seated at the table right next to us. Maybe next time

Expresso Giddy Up Espresso Martini
Katura B.

Visited Culinary Dropout with friends on a Sunday afternoon! The patio was the place to be, perfect weather & a very nice breeze! We were greeted by our server Roy who was very very pleasant! I ordered the Expresso Martini, and the Banana bread french toast. Since it came by itself, I added an egg & bacon. (Sidebar, $3 for one egg is pretty steep, but I guess lol). We also ordered the Crispy rice for the table. Everything was very good, I do wish the french toast slices were bigger, the cuts were so small, but savory & delicious! So more would've been outstanding and possibly the meal being included with sides would've be nice too. The crispy rice app & expresso martini were delicious as well! Overall, beautiful place, great food, good drinks, I'd definitely revisit to try other options!

I came here with a friend; we decided to try one of the new restaurants on our list. It was a nice day out and chilly inside and we ended up sitting on the patio. So I can't speak too much to the indoor ambience. But the food was great! I ordered the Cacio e Pepe with chicken and it was perfect! The chicken on top was tender juicy and thinly sliced and the sauce on the pasta was the right balance of creamy and light. I also had a cocktail, forgot the name of it but it was very balanced and tasted great. My friend and I shared an appetizer - the spicy shrimp crispy rice - and it was soo good, better than we expected. The presentation of that dish was cute too. I would definitely go again, and I plan to soon!

Prosciutto Deviled Eggs, Crusty Bread, Garlic Oil & Balsamic, Grilled Asparagus
Feng W.

Culinary Dropout was an amazing experience for my partner and I. We were greeted and seated promptly, our servers were superb and informative. They gave us starters and water as we ponder the menu. Eventually we decided on their seasonal Mongolian Ribs and Turkey Pastrami Sandwich and both were super delightful and flavorful. The yuzu rice paired with the rib was delicious mix of flavors, and the turkey pastrami sandwich was super thick alongside the pretzel bread. 10/10, will visit again!

My main dish consisted of Lamb shank with mushroom risotto - excellent! Not overcooked for once! I love this dish when it's done right but most of the time they kill it by hours and hours of overcooking. Yes, it's very tender once it gets to you but it tastes like nothing, just mush.. Portico managed to make it perfect. Overall: sleek decor, good service, patio, full bar, self parking. Worth a try if in the area or staying at the hotel.

At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!

No excuse for this type of service. Plus I'm shocked that management didn't accommodate a first timer to your establishment being it was the server's fault. Amazing how these kind of restaurants forget there are soooooo many great options in this city! No one is going to put up with this type of nonsense. Funny how they forget who's the paying customer, and get arrogant instead of being flexible within reason to a great customer experience.
