Unfortunately this location has a new line cook who is terrible. Eggs Benedict came out undercooked so much that the whites and yolks ran into a disgusting puddle. Came here for brunch with a few of my girl friends for us to celebrate my friend's pending nuptials. The service was garbage . Our server was so uninterested in being attentive. I think she stopped by the table twice only after being summoned. I will give her props for getting my order right (which is rare) for me. It was my first time visiting First Watch and I was impressed. The restaurant has cute decor, kinda country chic. It only took a minute to get seated due to the restaurant not being as crowded at 8am on a Saturday morning. I ordered the Chickichanga - something out of the ordinary for me, and i'm glad that I did. The wrap was flavorful, although I could've went without the cream sauce on top. Takes forever to be seated unless you check in on the app in advance. It takes another wait for a waitress to take your orders and for your food to be ready. Not an ideal place to go if you have other plans after. Corned beef hash was a messy mix of cubed potatoes and sliced sweet potatoes with what looked liked 2 ounces of homemade corn beef. This was my first time being in this chain, I was happy with the experience. My breakfast was good as was the service.

Had breakfast at First Watch this morning. I had the "Works" omelette with potatoes. My fiancé had Market Skillet Hash for her entree. The omelette was smaller than usual and had hardly any cheese. 65% of the meal consisted mostly of potatoes which were undercooked. They were almost raw. The potatoes in the Market Skillet Hash were almost raw as well. I told my server the potatoes were undercooked. He offered to bring a different serving and they were also undercooked. He said this was all they had. He said they would give us credit for the uncooked potatoes. We have supported First Watch over the years and I was seriously disappointed with my visit today. In closing I left hungry and disappointed. I do not feel they did enough to earn future business. read more

Loved loved loved this super convenient brunch spot with a nice menu and great service. Everything was fresh and looked amazing as it rushed out the door. I came in at lunch time and it was busy but the service was fast and the food was delicious. I got the ham and cheese sandwich and it was huge and amazingly scrumptious. The veggie soup was hearty yet light and overall the service was outstanding. The best part is I was staying at the hotel right behind and you could walk here! Where is Willie? Long time Egg and I patron. While I miss some of their food, the scrambles especially, and the atmosphere, the new renovation is well done and what we got was good. The staff seems well trained and helpful. I'd be fine except they seem to have fired Willie. He was the smile that made the experience feel welcoming. I understand that he was not offered the job here which makes no sense because he was an incredible team member for years. Others were allowed to stay on if they chose to. But he didn't get that chance.He was kind, hard working, and committed. Was he let go to fit a new image for Cary clientele? This seems like white washing for no reason. Disclaimer: I went to this First Watch at 1pm on a Tuesday, a very slow time for this popular brunch spot. I'm sure the situation is a little different on weekend mornings I'm super excited that there's now a First Watch that less than 20 minutes from my house! The renovation they've done (from before when it used to be The Egg & I) is fantastic! The interior is very open and farmhouse chic. When I went there were just a couple dozen people inside, so the staff was super attentive and the service was quick. I only get one of two things at First Watch: The Elevated Egg Sandwich or Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon. Both things are so so delicious that I just can't bring myself to order anything else, but everyone I've gone with has always loved their food. The unsweet tea was also really good - there is stevia at the table and the waitress asked if I'd like a refill to go!! This was the perfect place for me to leave the kids with the nanny and enjoy a leisurely and low key brunch while catching up on some reading. Stroller Status: There is tons of space in this layout to maneuver and park your stroller. Again, I went in a slow time, so not sure about how easy it would be to take a stroller there on a busy weekend. read more

Food is amazing but DON'T TRY TO CHECK IN ONLINE. It doesn't work. Checked in online for Mother's Day - told 1-2 hour wait (which seemed reasonable). Waited about an hour at home and headed to First Watch. Went to the counter to check-in and was told that the online check-in wasn't working. I sent a message to contact email online and put in a complaint. The response I received is below. If your online check-in isn't functional, and you are aware, then take down that option - if the only problem is on major holidays, then disable it on those days. Don't let customers with elderly parents assume they are checking in - just to arrive and be told otherwise. This is the response that I received: Unfortunately we experience multiple issues with the First Watch, due to the extremely high volume of usage and other opportunities.  This has all been shared with the IT department to hopefully prevent this from happening again on Major Holidays. Our First Watch app is designed much like this, once you get in line on the app, it would be comparable to if you had arrived in person and joined the waiting list. When you arrive and check in, it then places you where you would have been if you would arrived in person. It is designed to reduce the actual time spent waiting at the restaurant. The only good thing about my experience was the staff. Everybody was so sweet when I was there, but it also seemed like everybody was stretched incredibly thin. The servers were also hosting and doing togo, and I had to ask 3 different people to grab my togo food before I actually got it because they were stopped by their tables. In addition, the salad was incredibly small. It barely covered the bottom of the togo container. There was no toast with our order, the sunny side up eggs were broken and thrown around in a container with the potatoes. The French toast was dry and didn't come with any sauce or syrup or anything. But overall, good environment, not a long wait to get food (other than the hour wait for a table).
