First Watch is typically a great selection for breakfast, however, my last few visits at various locations have been subpar and inconsistent. June is here so my bday rewards have come rolling in. I placed an online pick up order for this morning using my BOGO offer. (Note: The online ASAP pickup times aren't realistic. It estimated my order would be ready 5 minutes after placing.) My arrival time was 10 minutes after placing my order and I waited an additional 3-5 minutes which posed no issue at all. Items Ordered: Elote Breakfast Burrito - Presentation was pretty, but the potatoes were inedible due to them being extremely salty and there was barely any chorizo. I had to deconstruct my burrito just to find the chorizo because I thought they forgot to include it. Plenty of egg and potatoes though. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat this at all. Shrimp & Grits - I surprisingly enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Thank God since I wasn't able to eat or enjoy my other entree selection. Good flavor and plenty of protein present. I am a fairly picky eater but I got the elote breakfast burrito off the seasonal menu today and it was delicious! It was the perfect blend and proportion of ingredients where nothing was lacking or overpowering. My husband asked me to leave a little for him to try and by the time I got to the last bite I was so sad I had to share! I also got the seasonal honey caramel crunch iced coffee which was soooo good and looked so pretty. There was about a 15 minute wait when we got there but the service was great and everything came out perfectly. We were there for about an hour and a half with a fairly sizable party but never felt rushed or like we were waiting around to be helped. Sadly my experience today at First Watch Vestavia location was a weak 4 out of 10. I had the works omelet with potatoes and I was only able to eat a couple bites the food was bland and the omelet filling was not cook or seasoned well. It took awhile for my waitress to greet me but after that she was cool despite the not so great food and so so service I did leave her a 25 percent tip. read more

Our waiter was very sweet. He came to the table multiple times after we got our food to check and see if everything was okay and if we needed anything. He served us with kindness and enthusiasm. We order online here often and the food is always great but they are very understaffed. Most of the time the orders are over an hour past the estimated pickup times. The waits are usually over an hour for people coming in when half the tables are used. I know this is common these days but it has slowly become not worth it the past couple times we have ordered from them. If this was solely based on their food, I would give it a 4 or 5. When my food arrived, it was missing strawberries, had cups of liquid whipped cream, and the food was completely burnt. I tried to eat one bite of the potatoes and they were somehow raw despite being blackened to a crisp. I called the store and the manager was the person who quality checked this order before sending it with the delivery person. I would have been embarrassed to send this to a customer. When asked for a refund or a fresh order, he said he couldn't send another or give a refund, and that I had to call corporate. I am not sure what happened but the last three times we have gone we have been so disappointed we won't be going back. So I decided to bring my family to the new location, and it was extremely disappointing. The AM power bowl (chia seed pudding with coconut milk, homemade granola, homemade blackberry jam and fresh berries and bananas) YUMMM.
