I scheduled a move for Saturday morning and I scheduled it over a month in advance, I had multiple confirmation emails. They then called me 2 days before the move and told me that they couldn't perform the move on my date. They claim their truck is in the shop and that it was unavoidable which may be the case but not having a backup plan or contingency plan to meet your customer needs is absolutely avoidable, especially when you have 2 days to figure it out. They're also the only moving company that explicitly stated in their quotes that they won't disconnect and reconnect washers/dryers, what? Edit: The owner of the company has called me to apologize for miscommunications. Apparently they will disconnect and reconnect washers/dryers, it's just not warrantied - but that's not what the email stated. Owner said they would fix the wording of the policy in the email. At this point I had already booked with another moving company, but the owner did state that they could rent another truck and accommodate me, which is awesome, but I'm not sure why that wasn't conveyed in the initial contact. Initially it was 'Sunday' or 'I don't know.' Hopefully in the future the owner won't need to contact people personally in response to a review to provide an excellent customer experience that I'm pretty sure I would have received otherwise... I've added 2 stars because I understand miscommunications happen and the owner seems like a nice guy who will make things right if necessary and it's not my intention to tarnish their rating. read more

Moved twice with them - first time was great, move went smoothly & the movers were very professional. Second time wasn't as great. The movers were nice, but they definitely lacked the same professionalism that i experienced the first time. It felt as though they found some guys off the street to handle my belongings which made me uneasy. My unease was confirmed when I went to turn on my TV after the move to see that somebody placed the screen on something and damaged the pixels which completely ruins the TV. Several emails to their office about this issue before any reply and all I got from them was that they said they'd follow up with me... That was in January & it's now nearly April. Several follow-ups from me and i have finally accepted that I get to tack an additional $1k onto the cost of my move to pay for a new tv... First Step is great at getting your belongings from point A to point B... whether or not they arrive in the same condition is another question entirely. read more

First Step Moving is AWESOME! From start to finish, the team showed an incredible level of professionalism, courtesy, and care. They treated my belongings like they were their own and handled everything with respect and attention to detail. The William Crew was exceptional--friendly, efficient, and more than willing to move items from my second floor down to the garage without hesitation. They made what could have been a stressful day feel easy and smooth. What truly stood out was the ownership's personal involvement. The owners came out during the move to inspect the work and check in with me to make sure I was satisfied. That kind of hands-on care is rare and meant a lot. I've never had a moving company show this much care and commitment. First Step Moving went above and beyond my expectations, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, professional, and thoughtful moving team. read more

First off, if you're shopping around for movers look no further. First step moving was by far the best moving experience I've had. From the beginning Christine and Christy were very involved and helpful. They took the time to help understand our needs and setup a plan to make our move simple and easy! We had their team come and pack our kitchen, they were extremely careful and took care of our possessions. I can't express enough how awesome the move team was! Pedro and his team were efficient and mindful of our stuff. I've seen some reviews talking about the guys were careless and damaged items, well I can say we didn't have that experience and the guys were great! We had them move a house and a 10x25 storage unit in the same day! 2 trucks and 5 guys, and they got it done in about 9 hours, which in my book was great. If I have to move local again, without a doubt I will be using First step again. read more

This is the best moving company I've ever used hands-down! I found them using #dallasmovers on IG, and from the first interaction over the phone, the lady was so nice, helpful and organized. The rates are very fair, especially compared with the quality of work I was shown. No surprises and no overcharging with the rates as well! Sergio and Francisco were absolutely amazing! I rented a UBox and it was much smaller than I realized and I was panicking that my stuff wouldn't fit in it. I thought I would have to sacrifice so much but they somehow got almost everything in there, especially some items I truly wanted. I appreciate them so much for that. They were on time, so friendly, and packed/loaded it very quickly. I can't say enough good things, I will recommend to everybody and wish I'd found them sooner for my other moves! Thanks again for making a stressful process much less stressful! read more

I was impressed with the site visit First Step has in place to assess the cost and give a fair quote for the move which made me feel confident the moving crew would be good. Manny and his assistant (wish I could remember his name) did not disappoint. They arrived on time, wrapped furniture and secured all items in the truck to where they wouldn't budge. They were polite and professional, I was apprehensive about this 180-mile trip but Manny made it seem like a move across the street. When we reached the destination, they were careful to unwrap everything and place it exactly where I wanted it. I will definitely call First Step for my next move and will recommend this company and Manny (and assistant) to everyone in need of a moving company. The entire process was amazing - it was seamless! I appreciate folks who walk their talk!! Mary B. read more

I used First Step Moving for my move from The Colony to Dallas. The company was fantastic from the get-go. The sales manager was able to match a rate from another company and honor a Yelp Deal at the same time. Saved me so much money! All moves have a little hiccup, and this was no exception. But First Step was great the whole way. I originally booked a three man crew, but only two showed up. I was a little wary of how much longer this move might take with only two men, but they were lightning fast! These two guys hustled and were done loading in just over an hour. The unload only too an hour and a half and that included a long carry from the truck to our new place. All total the job took just over 2.75 hours. Fantastic! We will absolutely be using First Step again for our future moves! read more

First Step Moving: First of all, I can never say enough good things about them. 1. Everyone I spoke to was awesome to work with. From the first call, to setting the actual appointment and then the guys who showed up helped my family move. Everything was as great as I could have expected. 2. None of my stuff was damaged in the move. Even having to walk up the 12 stairs or extremely steep driveway. Everything made it into one piece. 3. I was given a quote for scope of work and these guys knocked it out of the park. We actually came in under the quoted price. 4. John and the 2 Brian's were amazing to work with. We joked, we moved a bunch of heavy stuff and we got the job done as fast as humanely possible. I would recommend these guys to anyone who asked if I knew any movers. read more

I've lived at over 50 different addresses in my time and The Williams Crew from First Step were the best and most professional movers I've seen in a very long time. They were careful at every step and listened to all instructions about fragile and breakable items. All of our fine furniture was wrapped with care and consideration to our worries. We can't thank them enough for the smoothest quickest move we've ever had. From two different locations to our new home and not one glitch. Our hats off to The Williams Crew for a job very well done. You could have charged twice the amount for such great service, very affordable, and came in under time as well. Thank you ever so much gentlemen. read more

I hired NSM for a small move, to move the last few pieces of furniture and boxes leftover from my big move (with Dallas Movers Pro 5stars!). Joseph with NSM was highly accommodating and rescheduled the move date (at my request) due to the rains. They (2 men) worked within the two hour window. Joseph is a man of integrity and I would definitely recommend NSM for this type of move. To help them with efficiencies I would suggest being accurate with your count of pieces (furniture, boxes and miscellaneous), something I learned from my recent two moves. This helps them determine the #of men and assign resources according. read more

We have been trying to move for the past two months. I found you online and Christy answered my call. My move seemed tough and we are not exactly in the metroplex, but she didn't see a problem. Our team arrived on time, and actually split into two teams as we had furniture in two locations. The move was fabulous - our movers were kind and courteous and did exactly what we thought they would do. The whole move took less than two hours - and they were great. We won't be needing movers again, but we would absolutely recommend you to everyone we meet who needs affordable, responsive movers. Thank you! read more

This is an amazing company with awesome staff. Jeff and Christy gave my house moving a free on-site estimation and very reasonable cost. The guy Anthony and Nelson were so nice, courtesy and did everything carefully and fast. Anthony had 20 years professional experiences. He contacted me in advance and we scheduled to meet punctually at the destination. He moved carefully everything by himself into my new address, very polite, quiet and low-key. The whole moving procedure gave my family the very happy and relaxed experience. I will choose them again in the future if any requirement arises. read more

Highly recommend this moving company! They were on time, professional, and careful with all of my personal items. They gave me a call ahead of time letting me know when they were going to arrive. The guys moved quickly but also were cautious when moving the big items. I just moved an hour away to a farm house and once the movers finished the job they enjoyed some the view of the place while we fed them pizza for a meal. Can't say enough good things about this company from the scheduling process to the last item moved! Definitely will use them in future and recommend to family and friends! read more

The First Step Moving company was recommended by our Realtor, Brent Wells, based upon his feedback from clients who have used them. We were moving all our possessions from another state and needed unloading help. The recommendation of our Realtor was spot on. When I left a message for Cristy Vincent, the owner, she responded quickly and correctly evaluated my needs. When unloading day arrived, Miguel and his crew, Carlos and Jr, were careful, efficient and knew what they were doing. They were like a well oiled machine. I highly recommend First Step Moving and Miguel's team. read more

This is a great company to do business with and are worth the expense. The guys who came to move my stuff were very professional, efficient and knew their business. I have another move coming up and plan to request the same team. All very first class Update: Move number 2 Chris and the guys were great. They were all very professional and took great care of our items. Chris was an excellent leader. He took charge and made sure everything went perfectly. This was the second time I've used First Step and would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality move. read more

Guys were right on time! They worked hard and were pleasant and polite. Thank you, thank you!!!! The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because I wish they had wrapped all of my furniture instead of only my sofa and because at this point I do not know if anything was damaged since I had them move me into a storage facility temporarily. However as I mentioned above I had a great experience. The guys were professional and worked hard! I would definitely recommend and will use again when I move my things out of storage. Thank you First Step Moving!!! read more

We heard about First Step Moving from others in our neighborhood who had a good experience with them. Chris, Doug and Keith were punctual, friendly, and made the most of their time moving the items in our home. They worked quickly and methodically throughout the house and had a strategy for packing the van. They were great communicating they were going to take a lunch break but that we wouldn't be charged. We felt like we truly got our monies worth with First Step Moving and would recommend them to anyone looking for honest, hard workers. read more

Nathan is one of a kind , awesome customer service skills , Nathan takes the extra steps to assure our family was well taken care of, in part he and his crew became a part of my family or should I say we became a part of the First Step moving family. my wife Mina and I are very fortunate to have chosen such a caring group. kudos to both teams that performed our moving as well, will request that they come back for the final step in our journey to our next home in July.. Thank you all again and see you soon. Jay and mina Ortiz. read more

I moved at the beginning of the week and I was coming off of vacation and had one day to get everything done. Although we had a minor glitch with the arrival time it was corrected quickly and professionally. Brian and Justin were very efficient and respectful of my time, my belongings, and my wallet. They worked fast but did not miss a beat when it came to ensuring that my things were taken care of. I would recommend Next Step Moving to anyone looking to move and I will definitely use them again in the future. read more
