First Place Coffee has been on my radar for a while now and so happy I got to stop by! This is a food truck coffee spot so do not expect a sit down option. The employees were all energetic and helpful! I went with an iced Neapolitan and it was so flavorful!! No bitterness not watered down, simply perfect. They have some bites to grab as well from the Dinersaur. I grabbed a churrover and a banana bread in the shape of a dinosaur. So cute! I'll definitely stop by again soon!!

My all time favorite coffee truck. They have such unique flavor combinations and tons of options. The honeycomb is a must. The pb flavor they had this past weekend was absolutely divine. I love their pastry and "scoop" treats as well. The earlier you come the better because there is less of a line but they are truly worth the wait if you do find yourself in a line. The workers are so welcoming and passionate about the business -it truly shows in what they do. The is a central Phoenix must try!!

I'm obsessed with this little coffee truck. My friend recommended awhile back and I finally got around to trying to 2 weeks ago. They're open 4 days per week, Friday-Monday for like 4 hours each day... and I've happen to squeeze it in 4 times. I love that the coffee is flavored without being overly sweet and just blends really well. They were great at giving recommendations and love all the locations are near my house :) the pumpkin butternut squash is delicious, as is the caramel latte, baklava... and just a plain latte. I love the bakery dinersaur as well. Also AMAZING desserts that have great flavor without being loaded with sugar, but the perfect amount for a dessert. I love this place so much, I could honestly come here everyday (if they were open) and not get tired of it.

One of my very favorite coffee spots in the valley! They are so unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Their drinks are delicious and so inventive. It's a small truck but they always provide seating and good vibes. Their seasonal ones are a must try, but their classics are phenomenal too. Our go-tos are often the Honeycomb or LEO. Their Spring special Orange Blossom is amazing. Their pastries are also to die for! Their scones are where it's at, and if you see them selling the Raspberry Fontina or Chili Cheddar, you must snag it while you can! Super dog friendly! I can't wait for them to open their brick and mortar location downtown!

I love the concept of a coffee truck. Who doesn't love coffee to go? I tried their drip. Fundamentally, I found the coffee fair. It didn't have a unique flavour or after taste rushing me back for my next sip. Glad I tried as it is loved by so many in phx.

So so good! I've been wanting to try their truck for ages, but I kept missing them since they're only in the uptown area on Saturdays and Sundays. They're in the Colony Uptown plaza parked right out front. Cute little trailer. I got the Honeycomb Latte that has local honey, vanilla bean, and cinnamon. Super tasty and not too sweet which is what I love. My mom got the Leo which comes with lavender, espresso, and oat milk and loved it as well. We both got the Chile Cheddar Scone and it was honestly to die for. So buttery and flaky. Super friendly staff. I'll be back!

Amazing coffee and amazing people. I visited First Place Coffee in front of The Churchill, where they usually are parked on Monday mornings (you can check their Instagram page for their weekly weekend schedule + locations). They have interesting specialty drinks that rotate seasonally and in general a well-rounded menu with a variety of options. They also feature pastries from theDinersaur. I got an iced neapolitan with oat milk, and it was super tasty! The oat milk was creamy, and I could taste the notes of strawberry + vanilla without them overpowering the coffee. The drink was just the right amount of sweetness, something that I really appreciate as it tends to be a pitfall for specialty drinks at other coffee shops. The baristas were all super friendly + helpful, and I appreciated that they knew the ingredients to the pastries as I have a nut allergy. I'm excited to try more of their drinks! Support your local coffee shops (especially womxn-owned)!!

I've been driving by and seeing it always busy so I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Delicious coffee and very friendly and helpful staff.

Love this little coffee shop on wheels. The drinks and pastries are all amazing and the staff are awesome with beautiful smiles. When I go there I feel like family and I love that I see the same customers no matter where they are parked!!!!!

Was SO excited to try this place today. I follow them on Instagram and everything they sell sounded amazing. I got there about 9:30 and the line was long but moved a little quicker than I thought. A ton of people brought their cute dogs! The people working in the truck were super nice and also efficient! I got the desert matcha which has chai in it and some other stuff, two of my fave things in one! I got it with oat milk. I ordered my husband a caramel latte with extra caramel and espresso and he enjoyed it! The truck is super cute. Would totally come here again!

Very cute lil coffee truck run by lovely females. I have stopped by a couple of times before work and they are very friendly and service is quick. I tried the sage salted caramel which is part of their winter menu and el Diablo which is a signature drink. Both were great. I rarely drink coffee myself but both drinks were delicious. El Diablo has Chocolate, Chile de Arbol, Vanilla Bean, & Cinnamon which makes you feel like you're getting dessert, yet it's not overly sweet. Their pastries look delicious but I haven't tried them yet. I highly recommend given them a try if you're in the Phoenix area. I will for sure keep coming back.

First place coffee hands down best coffee in PHX! The quality is always dialed and the rotating menu to follow the season is always on point. The truck always brings together great people. The dulces on the truck are always so good and them "cakes" too. Don't sleep on the hazelnut date drink for winter menu. Thanks first place D

On 11/4/20: Fun, super friendly and COVID-safe coffee truck! So glad a friend recommended them to me! Tried 3 of their lattes: Honeycomb (can actually taste the honey flavor!), Smashing Pumpkin (nice nod to eponymous 90's Alt Rock Rock band), and Wild Cardamom. Cardamom has been the latest trend I've noticed, in local coffee shops. The flavor stands up well to strong coffee and lends a nice warm spice note. They sell Le Dinersaur pastries, and this morning, we tried the banana chocolate chip dinosaur bread. Adorable in brachiosaurus and T-Rex shapes! Most importantly, DELICIOUS. First Place Coffee is observing COVID precautions: socially distanced line to order and wait, no-contact payment options (no cash, currently, but they take CC AND Venmo). Super pleasant and helpful staff! Currently, the truck is operating 3 days a week: Fridays at 22nd St/Indian School and Sat/Sun at Phoenix General/Framed Ewe at 7th St, north of Missouri. Go check them out!

This coffee jaunt is beautiful with an industrial open loft feel where the air ducts in the ceiling show. Roofing is so last year! It's also a furniture store and a private office space so 4-8 people are in the back working on laptops in a forest of houseplants. It took me 7-8 min to find the restroom, and figure out where that's at. Tiny tiny white door next to the sign door that says Employees Only ! Anyway the place is cute big and spacious. Everyone there had a laptop so I felt odd just relaxing. I'll bring my laptop and work on all my homework next time. It's quiet w a bit of easy listening music piping through. I chose a pour over coffee so it was $6 and not $4-450 like the menu coffee.

Was not greeted by any staff (although at least 4 walked past me without even a head nod), had no idea what the menu was or pricing. (The red one's are for food.) I randomly order something. (Espresso over ice with whole milk ~ received it with oat milk took a taste and yucked out of that. Directly into the dumpster at the back of the parking lot. ) I could have went back in there but for $6 it wasn't worth my time. If you are a regular, they seem to treat them very nice. Shall we? + The space is charming, pastries' display impressive, staff seem intent, good location and vibe. - The prices, lack of a menu on display, and details. See below. Latte large requested cup and saucer and almond croissant. Inquired about quiche but did not look attractive sitting alone in plastic in a cooler. Poor thing. The Latte Latte well made, four shots. Alright, then. Good cup and saucer. Amen. Then asked about stirrers. Told to use a plastic spoon. Please tell me if anyone in France would ever stir a real hot coffee in a proper cup and saucer with a plastic utensil. Anyone? Right. Please offer wooden stirrers to guests and bonus points for a real spoon for those of us who don't want a paper cup. It really makes a difference. It would be criminal to use plastic. The (Sort Of) Almond Croissant An almond croissant is the secret test. It's like tasting vanilla at an ice cream store. Forget the others. This is the litmus. But before we talk almond, I had to do a double take on the receipt that thankfully I emailed myself. Because is this in Soho? West Hollywood? The Bay? How did this turn out to be $14? Because the almond croissant is $7. Say again. Never mind the best croissant spot in the West Village is less than that, but I took a bite, and oh my. I almost got up and said something. But I really was not in the mood. I had other things to attend to. Where do I start. Well, there was barely an almond to speak of. Hint of almond. The paste was like a disappearing act. But that I can handle. It was the texture. It was hard. Tasted old. Bland. Forgotten. Like someone forgot about the almonds, forgot them in the car. It was July 4th, and they remembered. I've had better croissants at airports. Ok, in the EU but you get the point. Did I just choose the wrong pastry, or the wrong day? They all looked pretty. Everyone got the berry thing. The Table My table was wobbly. Not awful but enough to be annoying. Between that and my phantom $7 almond croissant. The one left behind before someone remembered the almonds. That one. Can anyone use one of its cousins to hold up this table and fix this wobble? Might have been a better idea than breakfast. The Restroom Ok, cute idea to have a kitchen utensil as the restroom key. Nifty thought. Here's another. Can the liquid dispenser for soap be repaired or replaced? That too is wobbly and broken. You see the theme here. And dry hands. The (Bare) Display Case I had read about sandwiches. I love me an egg salad. The display case was bare. Maybe M-F? Lots of (plastic) pellegrinos. No Perrier or other sparkling in a real glass bottle. And definitely no Orangina. The Plants The plastic plants on each table. For the outdoors, sure. For an indoor French cafe table with $7 croissants, not so much. The theme again. The Staff They seemed stressed. I don't know why. When I ordered I felt more tension and rushed then a my corner pizza shop in NY. I don't get it. They tried though. Like it feels serious. High stakes. No smiles. All three not one smile. An Encore? Maybe. Overall, maybe. I don't know if I chose the wrong pastry and the wrong day. Could it be that. The Bread The bread looked good. I will give it that. And more expensive than my local bakery in NY. My Orwashers loaf purchased weekly is $12. And the slice it. And bigger. And they smile. But maybe if the bread is good, I am happy. It's hard to find good bread in Phoenix let alone this area. The Menu Please have it displayed somewhere with prices. Think that's a professional courtesy. I went online to see the menu from my phone. Or even a code to link. But something. A strange visit. Quite different than expected. I had hoped. Now I don't know. If anyone of the items mentioned are addressed for the next visit, whether the wobbly table, wooden stirrer or real spoon, or restroom soap, or even better a smile, or an almond more, I'd be vastly delighted. I'd love for this to work. There is time.
