Just got my bike tuned up at First Mile. I couldn't believe how smooth it rode today! Great job First Mile! My bike rides like new again!!!

Sending it on one of the bikes they keep in tiptop shape for me!

There's a reason these guys get such great reviews because this is an awesome Bike shop! Everyone here is really nice and the mechanics are super knowledgeable and the turnaround on bike repairs is usually just one to two days which is awesome but I don't have to be sitting waiting on Repair! Super glad I found them and I am a very regular customer now.

This is the best LBS (local bike shop) anyone could ask for. Having them open here in Lafayette has been a godsend. They turn repairs quickly, sell an ideal range of bikes, and answer questions without attitude. Trust me, these guys COULD have an attitude; they have tons of experience and are all rad riders themselves. But they are friendly, from kids to adults, novices to pros, and so on. Do yourself a favor and stop by when you are in the area.

I absolutely love this local shop!!! Excellent selection of bikes and gear. Top rate service and Super personable staff. Carey, Josh, and Dave are very helpful, knowledgeable and just downright real dudes with no attitude. What more could you want from a bike shop? No higher than thou arrogance that you get at some places. I went in on a Saturday morning and had some work done on my bike and they were able to do it right away! Very rare these days!

Best place to do business with. We went to the store searching for a specific bike, and we walked out of the store with the bike that we were looking for. Thank you for such great customer service.

Sharp completed the repair and returned the scooter. Within a week, the brakes were failing again. The system clearly had not been bled properly the first time. We brought the scooter back expecting them to correct their own mistake. Instead, when we came to pick it up, they demanded another $150 to finish the repair they failed to do correctly the first time. No phone call. No estimate. No authorization. Just a bill presented at pickup for fixing their own workmanship. For context, I'm not someone who doesn't understand how bike service works. I ran a bike repair shop for 6 years, raced professionally, and bleeding brakes is basic service work. When a shop does a repair incorrectly and the brakes fail within days, a reputable shop fixes the problem. They don't try to charge the customer again. After talking with others in the industry, this experience unfortunately lines up with the shop's reputation. The owner has reportedly lost the ability to carry certain brands over the years because of issues like this. After dealing with them firsthand, that doesn't surprise me. If you want a shop that stands behind its work, communicates before charging you, and doesn't try to bill you for fixing their own mistakes, look somewhere else.

I'm not coming back again after the last talk I had with the staff…read more My Ebike started having loud braking problems while coming to a full stop. Since this bike shop happens to be close by, I walked it on down to have them inspect and or repair the brakes if necessary. After a few minutes discussing the brake problem, the lead technician informed me he will not be taking the bike in due to the Ebike potentially being falsely labeled UL certified. I did not have the keys at the time I walked in to remove the battery. He said too to come back another time when the battery wasn't inside. I've been to other bike shops for similar reasons and not once did they bring this issue up on any other occasion. After doing a brief deep dive into UL's website, I did find the electrical components (Bafang) to GoTrax's Ebike to be indeed accredited. Turning a customer away without attempting to verify the bike's safety isn't good customer service. I personally would never do that to a potential willing to pay customer. Buyer beware, don't come here.

Really love the store layout, not sterile, has personality to it, the variety of sports items, apparel, shoes, and was even pleasant enough with the air-conditioning and fans on. Can't give it 5 Stars, though. Would love to, but this place has more items missing price tags than Grocery Outlet! Mentioned it to a couple of the employees, one replied there are "some items" where that is true ( more than some ), and another assured me that the items I was referring to had price tags on them. Yeah, No! At least in the energy bars / nutrition / protein powders / hydration packs, etc. department. Yes, there are some stickers designating price / bar and price / box, which IS helpful, then...a row or two or three of suddenly no price tags. And look at it this way, if you're going to put in the effort to label containers with expiration dates like "5/27" ( which seems like the store did in the spirit of good customer service ), then you CAN actually make the effort to clarify to the customer what item is what price. ( Why does this seem like basic Common Sense here, and if managers are not on top of this problem, then that is on them. I spent too much time walking the aisles, trying to find pricing, asking for help to scan items, discovering more things without pricing. Fix that problem ASAP. Or install a scanner in parts of the store for customers to utilize on their own. ) Overall, check out the store. Here's another reason why: I observed (2) separate employees, one younger 20's male in the running shoe department, one latter 20's female in the ski boot department, personally attending to customers, giving their input on products, doing some old-school sales and persuasion. VERY GOOD to see that. Both had product knowledge, were hands-on, was refreshing to see. Thumbs up!

Shoutout to Eugene for convincing me to spend my $15k somewhere else. I recently had a bike destroyed in a bike-car accident, so I went to RA planning to buy a helmet and potentially a new bike. When Eugene asked what brought me in, I told him I needed a helmet and was looking at bikes since mine had been destroyed. He laughed and asked if I was planning to just walk around wearing a helmet. After I explained the accident, he apologized. I mentioned I liked the Dogma X and said my budget was around $12-13k (I was realistically open to $15k). His response was: "That's out of your price range. Let's look at something cheaper." When I repeated that I liked the bike, he ignored it and moved on. Then he asked my bike size. I had just been professionally fitted at Innersport and was recommended a 49 frame. When I told him that, he laughed and said, "I'm sorry, but you're not a 49." When I told him I had just been fitted, he responded, "I can't imagine anyone recommending you a 49. I'm not entertaining that you're a 49." I had to pull up my fitting measurements before he reluctantly admitted I could "pass as a 49." The whole interaction was belittling and embarrassing. I've heard people describe the shop as having a "bro" culture that can feel unwelcoming, and that's exactly how this experience felt. In the end, I left without buying anything and instead went to Capdata in Concord, where I ordered a Factor Ostro VAM with SRAM Red, a helmet, and other gear. RA carries beautiful bikes, but if you're looking for respectful service, my experience suggests you may want to shop elsewhere.
