Joe was extremely helpful. I had a pedal and cleat problem. He took plenty of time and tried several solutions.

I had no compunction dropping the cost of a medium priced car repair on a verve step through! Alex hooked me up with great accessory recommendations that just make my new ride even more comfortable. (Helmet w light/go pro attachments, lights, bike lock, phone holder) read more

Trek Bicycle Berkeley - Bikes Near Me - Berkeley, California

I was next door at Outdoor Supply Hardware and saw this place. Being an owner of 2 Treks, a 520 road bike and an older street bike I decided to take a look. Well they no longer have any bikes I was familiar with anymore. I guess trending towards the masses. Electric bikes, commuter bikes, gravel etc. I think Trek still makes a hard core road bike I just didn't see one on the floor. Lets face it with a longer wheel base they aren't the best for around town. I thought there would be more accessories not that I was looking for anything in particular but just seemed a little anemic in that catagory. They did have a full blown shoe and pedal area though. Full on repair assembly area looked ready for anything. I talked to a sales dude and he was very knowledgable and a tech guy who totally knew his stuff. So, half way impressed when peeps in a position to know their shit actually do more than me. If I were in the market for another bike or get an older one whipped into shape I would definitely give these folks a hard look. read more

I just bought a new bicycle at Trek in Berkeley. The staff were incredibly friendly and top notch! Fantastic customer service! I worked with Joe, the manager, who on all matters was exceptional! He's a bicycle guru! What I appreciated most was his kindness, patience, skill and speed as a mechanic and helping me to assess what bicycle was best for me. He did multiple adjustments of the seat and handlebars and allowed me to ride different bicycles until I found the right fit. He also helped me find and assemble lights for my front, rear and helmet and installed a great lock for the bike. I love my new bike and I'm very grateful for the experience I had with Joe and the rest of the staff at Trek. I highly recommend Trek bicycle in Berkeley! read more

Great bike shop in berkeley! They sell new and used bikes. I went here for a service - came in to tune up my bike. After they looked at it, they said my bike didn't need it and i appreciated their honesty! read more

When this shop first opened they had a totally different crew and I had so so experiences with them. But now they have a really outstanding crew both sales and service. Tim in service is one of the best mechanics I've ever dealt with and he helped me with a really challenging warranty issue with Trek. He also always offers low cost solutions to sometimes tricky problems. I take all my bikes here and they do a terrific job. read more

Trek Bicycle Berkeley is the worst bike store I ever been to, period. Warranty for THREE GODDAMN MONTH with me waiting with nothing??? Screw you, I will NEVER EVER spend any more cent in this store. read more

Fantastic dealer. If you're buying a Trek, buy it here, you will not regret it. The staff here really take the time to listen to what you want and ensure that you get the proper bike for your needs. Zero pressure to buy anything, they will set the bike up any way you want for your test ride and really go out of their way to make sure it's perfect before you take it for a spin. It's a full concierge service short of a full personal fitting. I liken the experience to a high end car dealer where they give you a very personal experience. The prices are the same as anywhere else, and they have some great deals on year end closeouts. The buying experience here is second to none, you will not regret it. read more

This shop has both great technical service AND customer service. Additionally, this is the first bike shop where I *wasn't* made fun of for not knowing specific bike part vocabulary; in fact, they even took the time and patience to educate me. I'm now a loyal customer, thanks Trek Berkeley Downtown! read more

Great customer service! Excellent repair personnel. Great components selection l. Will definitely return.

I really appreciate the great customer service from this shop. They were very honest and direct with me when I stopped by with my bike. I was out of there in less than 15 minutes and took it for a ride right away! Definitely will be coming back here to have it serviced. read more

I had an esoteric problem with a sound on my Trek and Matthew M spend a few hours debugging the issue weeding one factor after the other. Boy, he was so patient, intuitive, and methodical. Two other good Bike shops took a swipe at the noise and gave up after a few attempts. I have rarely met someone so dedicated and detail-oriented with bicycles. Surely, there are other Matthews out there but they are not easy to find. I am sure Matthew will go a long way in bicycles. Thanks again to the entire Berkeley Trek team. They are just awesome !! read more

I first only went into this store because I happened to be nearby. But I was pleasantly surprised, and I keep going back because I have consistently received excellent, above-and-beyond customer service here. And I haven't even purchased a bike or had major service done, just little things like buying tires and parts, or having minor service work done when I don't have a particular tool, etc. Really good. read more

Hummmmm. What can I say. I had a lot of questions concerning speed and cadence sensors and computers as I'm looking to train indoors if I can't get out using a ride app. Hauk I'm guessing the spelling, was very like super knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Now with more information I've got more questions I basically have to answer myself as to what to buy. Thank you Trek on Shattuck. Jackpickle read more

In Covid times finding a bike rack is like finding gold. This store happily sold me a floor model of a rack and gave me a discount since it didn't come with a box or instructions. I initially called and Ella was so kind - she went above and beyond and offered me the floor model. I had been looking for a rack for weeks online and in stores in the East Bay. When I arrived at the store, Scout greeted me and the staff was knowledgeable, down to earth, and friendly. After I purchased I installed the rack on my car in my parking spot. I had an issue figuring it out and Scout came out to check on me! Unbelievable! She helped me figure it out. I told her that there was a missing bolt and she sent Robert, her manager, out to my car. Sorted. I couldn't be happier with their their team and their attention to customer service. Please support businesses like this that give a damn about people. I'll go out of my way to buy our next bikes from this store. Thank you Trek. read more

Robert and team are responsive and will go above and beyond. I recently purchased a Domane and on day one had lost my front axel. Robert was able to get me the part replaced (complimentary) quickly so then I can go on my first ride. Highly, highly recommend! (: read more

They're all very helpful, but you know you're getting scammed a bit. I came in wanting just a bike, but they added in little items like a water bottle and charged $7 extra for it. I got amazing service when I visited here recently. I had no clue which brand or model of road bike I wanted to buy and my conversations with the guy I spoke to here convinced me to get a Trek bike. He also had me sit on a couple bikes and helped me determine the right size for me. Other bike shops in the area only spent a couple minutes talking to me about what bike would be right for me, but the guy at Trek spoke with me for at least 20 minutes. They ended up not having the size and model I wanted, so I bought my bike elsewhere, but my visit here helped me figure out which bike was right for me. read more

Was a great experience! The Berkeley Trek store was superb. Extremely clean, detailed, and functional. I was in the market for a new Enduro race bike and had my heart was set on a 2021 Trek Slash 9.8 XT build in size ML. I had been searching for weeks with no luck. The Berkeley Trek store was the only place in a 1000 mile radius that had one in stock. I called the store 4/14/2021 to make sure they had the bike and to see if they could ship it down to San Diego. Unfortunately they were unable to do so but said they would pull the bike off of the showroom and put it in the back of the store and hold it for me until Sunday, 4/18/2021. Neil and Lilly is who I spoke with, and they were great to work with. Neil sent me some pictures of the bike before I made the drive up. I drove up to the store Saturday, 4/17/2021 (6.5 hr drive one way) to purchase the bike. Upon arriving at the Trek store, I took the bike around the block for a quick test ride and was instantly sold. Lilly is who helped get me dialed in and checked out. Easiest and most stress free "big purchase" I have ever made. 11/10 on the whole experience. Thank you guys for making such bad ass bikes and having great employees who take pride in their work and are very knowledgeable and helpful. You've got a customer for life! PS. this is my first Trek, and will NOT be my last. read more

These guys are seriously legit. By far the best customer service I've had in a while and just a super-nice bunch of people to interact with. Shout out to Scot and the team for being really helpful, easy going and turning out both my bikes (fully assembled) in less than 24 hours. Other places quoted more than double the price and a minimum of 10 days to do the job. Thanks everyone. read more

I had an issue on my mountain bike which a couple of friends thought it was the derailleur. I gave them a call to see if I can swing by on my lunch break since I only work a couple blocks away. The guy one the phone says the assessment is free and they will go from there. I took the bike in and they were able to resolve the issue within minutes of first touching the bike. I initially thought they were going to turn me away since I have a low end Walmart bike. Don't let it stop you from visiting these guys. I will definitely come back to them in the future if I need anything else. read more

With the COVID-19 pandemic, it's hard to get into many of the bike shops. Trek in Berkeley has been great. I called to make an appointment, and the guy on the phone was super nice and helpful. Then when I got to the store the following weekend, I was surprised at how even nicer the salesperson was who took care of me. Robert was super knowledgable, helpful, and patient, even when I had questions about my bike, which I bought from a different store. He didn't do the hard sell and made me feel completely comfortable, even though I'm a novice rider and could've been easily snowed by a less reputable seller. I highly recommend Trek and Robert. They seem to be true bike lovers and helpful to bike riders of all levels. read more

I must say these people are professionals. I came there to specifically purchase a kit stand for my bike. The guy with the long beard to the extra time to find out if it's compatible for my Trek Marlin 7. Unfortunately it wasn't but for him to take the time means a lot to me as a customer. Their business is not in it to make money but to ensure their customer gets the right product they need. Now that's HONEST. I'll routinely be going there on Sunday after church just to check things out. As for the store they have a wide variety of bicycle selections, accessories and clothings. This is the best Trek Store within the Bay Area from what I've seen. To the two staff members that were working there today, thank you. To their Boss, give those two a Medal. For real they're professionals and great representative for Trek and your store. Thank you. read more

I've taken my bike for service here for years. They do great work and keep my Trek bikes running like brand new.

The most helpful and honest associates. I could not speak enough praises of them. David the repair man was so helpful in explaining to me what bicycle suited my needs. He even helped me pick out one that didn't break the bank. If your thinking of buying a bike, come in and talk to them, they are very nice and will help you figure out which bike is best for you. read more

It is such a pleasure to come into this store and get repairs done on the bike. I say this as someone who generally does not associate getting a bike fixed with "great experience"--maybe others share this dissociation. I've had three fantastic experiences in the back of Trek where they do repairs. The first was when a very thorough mechanic named Tyler dissected the front and rear hubs of my Mavic wheels and put in new ceramic bearings. He did just as much as he needed to do and no more in order to keep the price down for me. I returned a second time two weeks later to investigate why the rear hub still seemed sluggish. A talented mechanic named Hawk spent at least an hour and a half doing a thorough assessment of the simpler possible causes for sluggishness: grimy drive train, overly tensed skewer, rogue chain link, and rear derailleur issues. In the process, she painstakingly cleaned and relubed my bike chain, pulley wheels, cogs, and front rings. For not a single part of this did she charge me, since she said it was continuing the first job Tyler had done before. In the end, the bike ran much more smoothly. Hawk also did a stellar job of putting in a new spacer in my headset so that it wouldn't rattle anymore and securing it with lock tight. A third time I came back for a major gear adjustment and, as usual, there was zero wait time and a fast turnover of the bike, as well as a very fair price for the job. I love the way Trek not only guarantees that repairs will be done within 24 hours, but they let you watch the repairs take place. They have no ego, are super friendly, and are very generous with sharing information so that you could do the job yourself next time. This is my new go-to place in the area for all things bike. read more
