This place is amazing! I was sent a link to Dr. Wada's website by a fellow Trekkie and I KNEW I had to trek over to this place for my next eye exam (especially since I was overdue). It was even more amazing than I was expecting! You can really tell that a lot of care and love went into setting everything up--and Dr. Wada pointed out a few pieces that are genuine set pieces from Star Trek Voyager! Perhaps even more impressive was how kind and pleasant Dr. Wada was during my visit, seeming more than happy to talk Star Trek with me and even offered to take some photos of me around the office. I can't say I was ever sincerely EXCITED for a doctor's appointment before, but this was the first. I can't recommend Wada Optometry enough, and after jumping around from LensCrafters and Costco Optometry, I think I have finally found forever optometrist.

Dr. Wada and his staff are very kind. I had no idea it was Star trek themed when I booked. I never seen the show but wow the clinic was cool. I felt like I was in a museum. The office offers a variety of optional scans and not at a high cost. It was nice to see detailed photos of my eye health. The glasses frames are modern and the receptionist was very great with helping me understand my insurance to make the best decision for my budget.

Screw in the back that holds the lens in the frame protrudes the entire screw head causing the glasses to snag on things.

This is a decent optometrist, but the lab where they have the glasses assembled is terrible! I just picked up my newest pair of glasses, dedicated sunglasses, and half of the screws are mismatched and protrude beyond the screw hole or don't fit at all! I was forced to get dedicated sunglasses because my primary glasses, which are supposed to transition to dark lenses, don't get very dark. I am very disappointed with the quality of the work performed and with the poor results after taking my primary glasses back to have the transitional lenses redone.

Nice office and okay customer service, but poor quality workmanship. Received two pairs of glasses for $355. First pair was okay, but lens for second pair (reading only) the lens doesn't fit the frame I requested them for and there are chips and scratches where they tried to make them fit. Was contacted after my initial review, was instructed that this issue would be corrected. Dropped off my glasses to be repaired, when they were picked up the lens part still did not fit flush in the frames. If you can't get a professional result, be honest with the customer and stop wasting their time and money.

She asked me if the following week would work and I agreed, assuming everything was set. She did not ask for more information from my end. When I arrived after a 45-min drive to my appointment, the front desk girl asked for my insurance information. I found this odd, as I assumed it would have been handled ahead of time like at other optometry offices. After checking her system, she told me that she couldn't get the authorization because a previous eye exam place was "holding" it. She told me to call 1-800 VSP number to have it "released", but the hotline & the previous eye place was already CLOSED. She said I wouldn't be able to get any eye exam today via insurance. I told the girl, "I wish I was notified earlier". She asked if we can reschedule and I told her that I'm no longer available other days. The next morning , I called the other optometry place & VSP hotline and they confirmed I have an open authorization. NOTHING WAS ON HOLD. This was a huge waste of time!!! I had no idea eye exams could evolve this much - apparently dilation is no longer mandatory for viewing your optical nerves, and I couldn't be more thrilled about that!!! On my last visit, they introduced a new machine specifically for dry eyes (which, as someone who stares at screens all day, feels life-changing). It's clear they really invest in the latest technology to make the experience better for us patients. Dr. Courtney Bovy is absolutely incredible. She actually listens and gives thoughtful, practical advice for the issues I bring up. You never feel rushed or brushed off, which is rare and so appreciated! Also, shoutout to their deals! Somehow there's always a great promotion going on. I was even able to get Meta glasses through my insurance, which was such a cool bonus! I've moved a couple times over the past few years, but no matter how far I end up, I will gladly make the drive back here. That alone says everything. Thanks again to the whole team! You've officially made eye appointments something I actually look forward to! :-)

Dr. M. Bovy and Dr. C. Bovy both very easy to talk with, they do not rush you, they take time to listen to your concerns, answer all questions and explain what is going on. They were both also very helpful and fun in help with decision making on the glasses. Thank you, Spectacle Optometry for a great appointment! So happy to have found you.

So, she made me an appointment for a little way out almost a month out, but they were busy and I was ok with it. I came in for my appointment and checked in, filled out some paperwork since I was a new patient and I hadn't had a vision checkup in quite a while (17+ years, my vision hadn't changed). The prescription I had gotten 30 years prior still work because I never really used my glasses, only to drive at night with. The office is super clean and stocked with a lot of frames with a range of price points from basic (what is covered by your insurance) and the extra price add-on is listed on the frames (which you are responsible for). So, it was easy peasy to know what was going on and not be in the dark about the pricing on the frames. They also had a good selection of cheaper frames that were listed at an additional $60 all the way to $310, but honestly, I only looked at the frames that I liked. Time for my appointment, the optician (with the purple streaks in her hair, sorry I didn't get her name or any of the other optician's names, but they are all very nice and super helpful) prepped me for my pretest and explained what to do as she went along with all the testing. She was super nice and made me feel comfortable as she administered each test. I pretty much told her I can tell her what the letters are but when she got to the smaller ones, they were blurry (but I still knew what they were and we laughed!!) She made me feel at ease for my eye exam that was coming up with the Dr. Dr. Vargas walked in, and he was polite and personable. He administered my eye exams, and I (again) said I will tell him what the letters are, but I let him know when it's blurry, but I was able to tell him what the letter were, and we both laughed. The eye exam wasn't rushed and he was thorough. He explained everything to me and my left eye the prescription hadn't changed at all, but my right eye had "dry spots" so that means new glasses. I was in the building a week later and just checked to see if my glasses were ready, and they were. Happy camper that can see....lol

Ambiance/Environment: This office is located on the 2nd floor. Once you walk in, you'll find the elevators on the right side. Take the elevators up to the 2nd floor. The office will be the first one you see when you exit the elevators on the right. If you get lost, there's signage everywhere. Service: Booking an appointment is easy via the website they texted me. I had to choose two appointment times that fit my schedule. It's somewhat difficult finding a time because majority of the slots that are open are during my work hours. I also received a call confirming an appointment time I chose. They send constant reminders about my appointment time and date. The receptionists don't really acknowledge you when you walk in until you say something to them. Make sure to sign the sheet once you arrive then sit and wait to be called. Dr. Vargas is the main doctor I prefer. An optometric assistant will first exam your eyes before the doctor visits you. I didn't catch her name, but she gave me a lot of useful tips regarding eye lenses and contacts. Dr. Vargas was very informative and patient. He answered every question I had. Although I might not remember the proper terms, I understood the importance of taking care of my eyes. My eyes definitely got more blind by .5 and more dry compared to last year. I had to get new prescription and eye drops. Dr. Vargas also gave me coupons for Refresh eye drops. They offer all types of brands for the frames. I chose Ray-ban frames which cost more expensive, but I wanted to go with something new. It takes about 2 weeks for the new glasses to arrive. I got chose high index and anti-reflective lenses.
