First off, I do agree that his staff is friendly, so no problems there. The problem I came in for is a complicated one so I won't go into detail about it. Although nothing was found during the eye exam, Dr. Wada still recommended some glasses and, as his receptionist reiterated, "You have the insurance, you might as well use it." So my insurance was milked to the max and I got a pair of glasses that were of absolutely no use to me whatsoever. I contacted the VSP and asked about possibly exchanging the glasses for some I could use. They told me I would have to make another appointment with Dr. Wada to which I reluctantly complied. The day prior to my appointment I was contacted by the VSP and told that everything was good to go. As I got off the phone I noticed I had an unhappy sounding message from Dr. Wada. I returned his call and was chewed out with an angry, "What is your problem?!" After listening to Dr. Wada rant, I had to hang up on him and contact the VSP to ask what exactly they had said to have made him so angry. They put me on hold while they spoke with him only to get back to me and tell me there was nothing they could do. I'm sure Dr. Wada gave them a similar scolding. Please keep in mind that once they have your money, neither the doctor or the insurance company are going to stand up for you. Let this be a lesson to choose your doctor wisely to avoid getting into a mess like this. read more

Been coming here for couple of years now, and haven't been happier. Staff is always friendly along with Dr. Wada. It's more as of a visit to an old friend because he is always so welcoming. His interior is amazing!!! Everything is Star Trek! It's not your ordinary Optometrist office and I love it! They also text you the day before to remind you of your appointment which I don't get with any of my other appointments. Dr. Wada and Staff are "no ka oi!" If you're in need for excellent eyecare you must check out Dr. Garry Wada's practice in Anaheim. My family had their eye exams done in Garry's office today and had a great experience. My husband and daughter walked out with their new prescription glasses the SAME day! To top it off, his office is modeled after the STARSHIP ENTERPRISE... Called this morning to schedule an appointment and I didn't expect to get in right away which was really awesome. I was greeted by Ann , I believe that is her name , she was very kind and went over my benefits . There was some confusion on both our ends regarding my ins but we cleared it up. She was super patient because I know I had a bunch of questions . Shortly after I finished my paper work she roomed me and I met Dr.kathleen dang. She was also super nice and had great advice about contacts. She answered all my questions and overall I had an awesome experience. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Wada. It's simply an extremely thorough eye exam by an extremely competent and personable doctor who apparently knows all the high-tech things to do to check on the health of your eyes and give you glasses that allow you to SEE extremely well. [I have found out that this is not always a given. About four years ago, I went all the way to Ocean Park and Lincoln in Santa Monica for my glasses and the glasses gave me headaches; same result for a pair I got on the LA's Westside.] Here, you will not be disappointed. I got two pairs, because I have a tendency to lose mine. One pair had slightly "off-looking" little screws, which the very courteous staff graciously fixed in about an hour. And he has an amazing selection of glasses, even these techy industrial-safety types. read more

Insurance covers my exam, but unfortunately, not glasses BUT I got one of the pairs on special for $39.95- lenses & frames included!!! The office is super cool, all in a star trek theme. Crappiest appointment I ever made! My workplace changed providers for eyecare and I had to change my optometrist. I called and left a message with Wada to make an appointment but never received a call back. I tried their on-line scheduling appointment but I still did not receive any response. I called another time and was finally able to make an appointment for Friday at 9 AM. I got there at 8:54 AM and the door was locked. Since I was a little early, I figured I just needed to wait a little until it was time for my appointment. I waited outside their office until 9:20 AM and was regularly checking the door to see if they were finally open. I walked off at 9:20 AM. While I was walking away, I gave them the courtesy of calling their main line and told them that I was cancelling the appointment since their office was closed. I also told them that the situation was crazy. read more

Dr. Wada is one thorough optometrist! He diagnosed my gpc that my previous optometrist waived off as "allergies" and gave me some medication to treat it. He also explained anything I was concerned about in detail. Just ask him questions if you want to know whats going on. I had to go back because I didnt know he gave me the same prescription as before which I didn't want. Could have prevented that if I asked the first time what my prescription was. Staff is friendly (esp the two ladies with glasses) & wait time on Saturdays ranged anywhere from 15 min to an hourish from my experience. Try to get there with ample time just in case! read more

I ordered my prescription glasses from here because I liked the various styles offered. I ordered them and was told it would be 7-12 day wait. I received them after 9 days. I only wore them for 2 days when I noticed the frames weren't adjusted to my face. They kept falling while I was doing everyday activities. It was an overlook on my part as well as Dr. Wada's assistant to make sure they fit as soon as I received them. I returned to get them fitted for my face, it was fine and I left. It wasn't until 2 hours later that same day I realized the coating on my lenses got damaged by the adjustments made. I didn't catch it before I left due to my eyes still adjusting to my new prescription. That was missed by Dr. Wada's assistant to make sure my glasses weren't damaged before returning them to me. I had to return back to let them know the coating on my glasses were damaged after they adjusted them. I was given an estimated week time period that I would receive them back. It has been 10 days now so I contacted them today to ask when they will be coming in. I was now told it would take another week. This entire visit here has been nothing but poor communication and trips back to fix mistakes. I've tried to be patient up until now. I'm in need of my new prescription glasses. I like the decor but it doesn't make up for the poor service I have received here. read more
