I had a plumbing backup, and unfortunately this was the company my home warranty was contracted with. In addition to showing very little regard for being respectful in my home, the techs were unprofessional and unknowledgable, misidentifying my problem and of course, the solution. Due to the age of my house, they needed to snake my drains by getting on the roof, for which I paid $400 only to have the plumbing issue return less than 36 hours after their visit. When I explained my dilemma to the main office & supervisor, they did not take it as an opportunity to make things right; all I was told is "well, it sounds like you need to have a camera run down your pipes and we don't offer than service." I then asked for a refund, and was only credited $100 back of the $400 I spent. So, I'm out $300, I still have backed up pipes, and now I get to pay another vendor to do it right. Save yourself the stress, keep shopping UPDATE: after posting this review, I was messages by the owner, Carl, directly to offer a full refund for the service. Having spent my whole career in the service industry, Carl earned a lot of points for that move. I understand not every business owner has oversight on all the day-to-day activities & employee accountabilities, but Making It Right in the end is always the best outcome. Good job Carl, nicely done read more

My 20 yr old water heater started leaking. I called my home warranty company and they hooked me up with First Class Water Heaters. Although they couldn't come out to look at my heater for a few days, they were quick to respond and very helpful. Damon came out on a Thursday. Checked out the water heater, explained what the problem was and that we needed a new one. The office followed up with me and went over the quote and explained what was and wasn't covered by the home warranty. I had the unit replaced on Saturday and we've been having hot water since. Damon was great! He came on time, was extremely knowledgeable and got things done quickly. read more

I've had different plumbers assigned by my home warranty to do a variety of repairs over the past 10+ years, including replacing the previous water heater. We needed a new hot water heater again, and Jayme at First Class Water Heater was assigned and did a terrific and speedy job. He brought everything up to code, and re-did the pipes around the hot water heater much better than the previous plumbers who recently did some other work. Jayme is hands-down my favorite plumber out of all the various plumbers we've used over the years. I'm definitely going to request First Class for any future needs. read more

Terrible service and the most unprofessional technicians. Had them come out multiple times and issue Is still not fixed. The techs try to tell you that you need something related to your maintenance and attempt to charge crazy out of pocket costs for it. I'll never use this company again. read more

I will NOT recommend First Class Water Heaters to anyone. The employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. I hired them through my home warranty fedility and had the worst experience. The quality of their work is worthless. Although, the owner really did his best to resolve the issue and I appreciate his willingness to call me back voluntarily, but the technician and other employees were extremely unprofessional. I rather pay an additional $75 deductible to my home warranty and hire a different company. Please save your money and time and stay away from this business. read more

Amazing customer service. Jayme Perez showed up before his schedule time to accommodate us. Positive energy, spirit of excellence, and a great attitude of making sure the customers happy. Before you commit to any other water heater installation company, it would be wise for you to consider first class water heaters. Best price, and best customer service. I was totally happy with the service received from this company. From the initial call to schedule an appt, to the availability, to the completion of the water heater replacement. The installer, Charles who was assigned to do the installation at my property, was great! He was courteous, informative, very patient with all my questions. He took the time to explain processes to give me comfort in what was being done. The installation was done in a timely and efficient manner. I would definitely recommend their company to family and friends! read more

Damian and Charles did a great job replacing my water heater. They were dispatched to my property via American Home Shield because the first technician from Budget Rooter gave an inaccurate diagnosis and report. The guys were very professional and came to my house and got done within the the time frame they provided me. At this point my water heater is working great but my centralized heating isn't because I have a hydronic air system so it gets the hot air from the water heater. I get air bur it's cold. The issue started happening as soon as my old water heater started leaking so it was a domino effect. Damian came back the next day after I requested a recall dispatch. Damian inspected the connections and all that and since my water heater is working he informed AHS to transfer the job to an HVAC company who will look into the issue further. Thanks guys! read more

They were amazing! Super reliable, efficient, punctual (even arriving early on installation day) and friendly!

Our kitchen sink backed up late last night. We have a homeowner's insurance policy for situations like this. Filing a claim late on Friday night, First Class Water Heaters was the plumber they assigned to us. I called the office when they first opened at 9:00am today (Saturday) and they said they had a technician scheduled for my area and confirmed that we were on their route, sometime between 11am-2pm. I was thrilled when Francisco arrived at 10:50am. The block took some work with the snake to clear, but he was persistent and successful. He even cleaned up the mess created by the plumbing snake (outside the house) with our hose and broom. I give Francisco 5 stars. Beyond being successful and timely, he was professional, efficient, good humored, and friendly. I would call First Class Water Heaters again in a heartbeat for future plumbing problems. Well done. read more

Very honorable company and workers. They came in a fixed my water heater in 30 minutes. If you are looking for plumbers you can trust pick this company. The Repair: My water heater had a faulty valve. They replaced the valve, showed me the old one and why it was broken. They also issue paper reports, which I find very helpful when dealing with home insurance companies. Thank You First Class Water Heaters, you are living up to your name. read more

After having to plunge our master bathroom toilet almost daily for a year, something worse happened: the bathtub emptied onto the floor through the bottom of the toilet, flooding the bathroom with more than just tub water. Jose and Francisco were sent out by First Class Water heaters within an hour of our call. They snaked it and had it fixed in less than an hour. However, two days later, it clogged again. This time, they used cameras to detect the bigger problem- blocked sewer line that had been installed incorrectly when the bathroom was built, and further clogged by roots. They proposed a new fix which required much more cost and labor. It took a few tries to actually get it fixed, but all the while Carl- one of the owners - and Jose were reasonable, working with us and our agreed upon price to fix it the right way so that it would not collapse again. Doing it right was harder- it required digging under the house, but they did it, and did it in good time, without keeping us waiting. I respect that, and they will get our plumbing business in the future. Thanks Jose, Francisco and Carl! We appreciate your great service and work ethic. read more

First Class Water Heaters was recommended to me by another plumber who didn't have the Hydrojetter we required - Gerson came to our home, ran the hydrojetter, and dirt was drawn into our tub, which was a worrisome sign. We hired him to diagnose and fix the issue. He determined that our tub was not connected to the main sewer line (!) and fixed the problem in a day. The company had originally quoted us a much higher price as they thought the fix was more extensive. After the work was completed, I contacted the company and asked for a reduction in the already agreed upon rate. They were extremely reasonable, agreed to a lower rate, and refunded my credit card for the overage the same day. 5 stars for Gerson, the amazing plumber, and Andrea and David, who were reasonable and accommodating with the price reduction. read more

My water heater went out. I called several companies and was quoted extremely high. I found First Class Water Heaters on Angie's List. I called and spoke to David Ballard; he was very professional and said he could do it today, gave me a phenomenal price for removing, installing, strapping, putting floor pan and testing water heater. I highly recommend David & his team. They're efficient, on time and his price was lower than anyone else I contacted. Stay away from Roto Rooter; they quoted me twice as much as First Class Water eaters. At the end of the day; I had new water heater, I saved money and was extremely pleased with their work. David quoted me 35% less than Roto Rooter...for exactly the same work. Trust me when I tell you to use this company out of Martinez, Ca. If anything ever happens to my property rest assure I'm calling Mr Ballard! read more

Our hot water heater started leaking last Sunday and thankfully my husband discovered it before our garage got flooded. He turned it off and said well I think it's time for a new one. I did the claim online and got the call from the technician Monday morning that he'd be out Thursday to check it. Cold showers for a few days no biggie. Carlos arrives Thursday morning and immediately said it's time for a new one. I went back and forth on the phone with my warranty company and they said it needed supervisor approval and may not get replaced until Monday because they were going to order the new heater! I was livid!!!!! Carlos called them and explained to them that he had a replacement with him and could replace it for us now. The hold up on approval was over $50!!!! He reduced the price by $50 to get the approval so he could replace it for us that day. His dedication and determination to make sure we got our hot water heater that day was above and beyond our expectations. He understood how frustrating it was and he absolutely made our day. He also really hit it off with my husband as they're both veterans. This company is a veteran friendly company and by far provided the best customer service we've received in a long time. Carlos definitely saved the day and I highly recommend him and his company. read more

Carlos came out to our home to replace our water heater today and he did a phenomenal job. He went above and beyond for us to get it installed. He was nice enough to even add a split to our gas line so our drier can be gas hook up. Not only that, but since he was in the area he completed the job a day earlier! I would definitely call and request Carlos in the 209 area. read more

Updated review: Thankyou Carl for your response, I noticed that you respond to all reviews, good or bad. It has made me feel differently about your company. I think if your office staff can be more efficient to answer calls and return calls you will have 4 and 5 stars all the time, because from the reviews your techs are really great. I'm working on my end with American Home Warranty, seems they need some changes also. Thankyou for responding to all reviews, do not see that often enough with businesses. I would like to give a negative start if yelp allows me to do. They have scheduled 3-hour appointment window and nobody showed up. I took off and stayed at home for them to fix my water heater issue. I tried to call them to know the status and the lady who took the phone told me that their technician tried to call me but I didn't pick the phone. That was not true and I asked what time and what number and she was not sure about time and number. I asked her, can I talk to your manager or business owner and she said they all in the meeting and I asked her can I get their email id and she refused to give me. If you are looking for a reliable technician never ever go to them. UPDATE: Within 2 hours of my yelp review. Business owner Carol called me and apologized and he said he was not aware of this situation. He promised me that he is going to educate his team on how to treat customers. read more

Dave Ballard is an outstanding individual who takes pride in his business and customer service. This is a late post, but we have to share our great experience. It all started with our tankless water heater going out two days before New Year's Day. We contacted them off hours and received an immediate response. He came out on Saturday, diagnosed our issues and because we were going out of town that weekend he made arrangements to return when we got back. As promised, Dave and Victor came back and resolved the electrical and connectivity issues between our two tankless water heaters. I would highly recommend and will be using them for any future plumbing and/or sewer issues we may encounter (hopefully we won't need to...). read more

Carlos takes customer service to another level and I will always call and request him. I requested a quote and received a call within minutes. He called when he was on his way, arrived on time and after learning I had been without hot water for 3 days he offered to come back on his day off to fix it. The previous owners of my house had done some Mickey Mouse plumbing and he cleaned up their work which could have caused serious water damage if he hadn't caught it. Jayme came out to my house for a diagnostic on my tankless water heater this past week. Since it's during COVID he was wearing a mask, which I appreciated. I told him the issue on the hot water running out during our showers. After testing it and no issues or an error message. Jayme said it could be the shower value if it happens again. He recommended that we do a flush since it should be done annually and we haven't had once in 2 years. Jayme noted that we should do a full service on our tankless every 3-5 years, which includes a flush. Price wise $150 for the flush and $350 for the full service, which is basically cleaning the entire unit and inspect it. I asked if it would be possible to do a full service now. At first he said that he couldn't due to his schedule, but he was able to squeeze the service in. He worked on our tankless for about an hour or so, and showed me the blue liquid in a gallon container that should be clear. Payment was easy with a credit card. Jayme was friendly and informative. I appreciate his honesty on the condition of my tankless- he noted to me that as long as we maintain it, our tankless water heater should last for years!! Will definitely call again for a flush and full service. Hopefully we'll get Jayme again :) read more

Very professional - our plumber Eli Santos had a mask on the whole time, was happy to answer all of our new-homeowner questions, and went to the store to get repair parts first thing in the morning so our water heater was fixed a week earlier than expected. As someone working from home, I especially appreciated how non-disruptive the process was. The customer service agents on the phone were also very efficient and friendly, and Eli was sent the day after we called. read more
