First Class Tree Service did a great job today grinding a sizeable California pepper tree stump. They were efficient and thorough in going deep into the rocky soil to grind as much of the root system as possible. This was my first time using First Class and I will be sure to get an estimate from them next time we need our pepper and eucalyptus trees trimmed. read more

I was non-renewed by my insurer because of two trees overhanging my roof. I got about 5 bids for tree removal from various companies and First Class was very reasonable priced. What convinced me to hire them, though, was the attention to detail of Jose, the son, who gave me the estimate. He noted the location of the gas line without me having to point it out. He promptly responded to all my questions. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. On the day of the removal, the crew showed up on time, even a bit early. The crew of about 5 men worked like a well-oiled machine. Each did their part. They cleaned up all of the debris. A sprinkler head was shorn off on the process of grinding a stump, but I guess that is to be expected with this kind of work. I will recommend them to any of my neighbors or friends who need similar work done. All in all, a great experience. read more

I was referred to First Class Tree Service by a neighbor who uses them. I needed to have a palm tree removed, my jacaranda trimmed, and my camelia bush (really a tree now) given some shape. I'm entirely happy with the service I got from Jose, Eduardo, their father, and their crew. I have used tree and lawn service people in the past who don't want to quote a price before the job is done, or who play the "what do you think the job is worth? " game. I got a quote from Jose after we discussed the work that was fair. No haggling or guessing. The First Class crew did their work quickly (even in the rain) and to my specifications. I am very happy with the results and will use them again. read more

Wow, because of a homeowners insurance matter I needed to have a tree stump taken care of in our backyard sooner than later. To make things worse I had to go out of town on short notice. Well that wasn't a problem for First Class Tree Service. They responded to my inquiry quickly, they came right out and gave me a quote, and in short time the stump was not only gone, but it looked like it was never there. No wonder they get 5 stars. I'd give them 10 if I could. Thanks for helping me out guys, you made a very stressful situation not stressful at all! read more

He was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain things to me on the day of the job I met another few family members everyone was so kind, knowledgeable and efficient. The job was done by noon, excellent cleanup and again very knowledgeable about the future maintenance required. I have two of the most annoying trees known to man on my property, that continually dump leaves and other tree detritus all over my yard, the sidewalk, and any cars foolish enough to park under them. I had enough! I called First Class to come to the rescue. Jose was able to come out, talk me through an estimate, and within days, these annoying trees got a much-needed haircut at a fair price. I can feel the stress of having to leaf-blow every other day lifted off my shoulders. Thanks, First Class!! read more

Everything went as you hope it will when you finally tackle a project. Quick, professional response and work done on time and as expected. Called for tree trimming, received a quick response from Jose. He came out, was friendly and professional. Sent an estimate the same day. Price was a bit higher than the others I received. He was able to negotiate and scheduled the job. I just wanted to update my review from a few years ago. I stand by 5 stars! Once again, Jose was quick to respond to my request for trimming my trees in our North Park canyon home. He provided a fair quote, and made room for us in his schedule the following week. The workers arrived early, worked hard, and cleaned up after themselves. We are very happy with the results. First Class Tree Service will continue to be my go-to company for any of our future tree trimming needs. I highly recommend them! read more

I'll definitely call Jose again. read more

Rated a 5-star for this comWe were very impressed by the the First Class Tree Service. Requested a quote on Yelp to remove/stump grind a tall palm tree about 60' high and 2 smaller Queen palms. They came to give me a quote within a couple of days but quoted slightly higher than another company so they price matched. They put me on the schedule within the week and about 10 guys showed up on the day of and within about 1.5 hours, the trees were gone. They were fully equipped with trucks, stump grinders and workers. We are very happy with their services and will be contacting them again if we need to remove more trees or trim the palm trees. They are prompt, fast and the price is very reasonable. If you need your trees removed, contact these guys. They are family owned business and you will not be disappointed with their services. read more

We had an absolute great experience with the First Class Tree Service Team. We had a large pine tree (100 years old) that had to be cut down because out piping issues. They were quick to respond and set up time to come out, had a very reasonable price, and were knowledgeable. They came out and cut down our tree, took a little over one day and did all the clean up work. They even went into our neighbors yard and removed the fallen debris there as well. I would highly recommend this company! One suggestion as we had someone come out right after to install a fence, they suggested that there should be some type of chemical placed on top of the stump to make it die even faster (although pine trees don't grow back). Not sure if that's something the company would look to offer in the future. read more

I do not have favorable comments this time for First Class Tree Services' lack of service and communication. I scheduled an appointment with Jose and an hour or so after they missed our/their appointment, I contacted Jose. He commented they were running late from the appointment before ours and wasn't sure when they would be here. I asked why he did not try and contact us to let us know there was going to be a delay. He apologized and then "fired themselves" from the job. I had also recommended First Class Tree Service to a neighbor who was considering using their services. Once Jose found their job was separate from ours, and I did not know if they were going to use their services, is when it seems the lack of communication started (and ended). They never showed. I had to give one star so I could post this review. Very disappointed. read more

We worked with First Class Tree Service for our community palm trimmings and couldn't be happier that we did. They are the whole package: great service, attention to detail, very communicative, and very helpful with suggestions of what you need. They are an honest group. They worked hard to find a time to schedule our trimmings and worked with us to find a price we could afford. I received multiple quotes, and they were the best price option. I will definitely work with them again. Thank you First Class!! read more

We are incredibly happy with the service provided by Jose and his team at First Class Tree Service. Sadly our very large 90 year old queen date palm tree was attacked by the weevil beetle and died. They responded immediately to my inquiry and provided the most competitive proposal. They were able to remove the tree within the week that we called. They worked very hard all day to remove the tree. They worked safely and diligently all day. They removed the whole tree and cleaned up everything perfectly. We were very satisfied with the price and the work they completed. We highly recommend!! read more

OUTSTANDING! I serve on a condo HOA board and the Yelp reviews were top-notch, so we went with First Class Tree Service. They had the most affordable quote, and as other posts mentioned, Jose called me back within 10 minutes of requesting a quote. They came, conquered our palm trees and jacarandas in a busy urban area, with a bus stop to deal with, too. They completed the job in about 5 hours with four workers and a wood chipper machine. They wore masks and helmets, and were thorough professionals. They cleaned up the area wonderfully before departing. Can't promote them enough, and now we have an affordable, professional tree trimming service we will use in the future. I wrote the above review 11 months ago, and was so pleased with their professionalism and prompt service, we hired them yet again today. Jose Jr. and Jose Sr. are communicative with setting up a day/time, as well as answering any questions you may have. Their price is very reasonable. They will be our tree trimming service annually, and highly recommend them to property management companies as a vendor. read more
