Just finished my first visit with Jonathan, and WOW! I'm sold, and will be back regularly. I specifically did not want a relaxing massage - I NEED a sports massage THERAPIST, and that is what I got!! I've suffered from progressive back and neck pain due to herniated/degenerative discs and arthritis and have MPS (myofascial pain syndrome). I've managed my pain in recent years by exercise, strength training, stretching and foam rolling. While I'm physically stronger and do CrossFit and Spartan races the past 3 years, the stretching and foam rolling is simply not enough and I NEED myofascial massage therapy. Jonathan really got INTO my muscles like I've needed, and even though it's a painful process to get through, it's so necessary for me and my range of motion walking out of there was SO MUCH BETTER than it was walking in!! I know one visit is not a magic pill and that I need to do this regularly as part of my fitness program and physical well being, and I was really reminded of the importance of this therapy today. I had an amazing massage here done by Jon himself! He really targeted the areas where I had my muscle knots and pain, and also discovered new areas of concern I wasn't even aware of! Definitely worth it to get a targeted massage from a knowledgeable massage therapist who has worked with many athletes and can target the right areas with the right technique! Great spot for a sports massage. Jonathan is excellent with communication and making sure you're comfortable and feel respected. He checked in with me numerous times during my session. He also makes sure that what he's doing isn't painful. He can feel what's tight and knows how to work it out. The rooms are clean and quiet. Making an appointment was easy. He told me that he also has a female therapist available which is cool for those of us who may feel uncomfortable with male therapists (I prefer female therapists). This place is AMMAZZZINNNGG. I've been having severe neck pain from stress and it was effecting my workouts from the headaches I was getting. This place caught my attention because of the sport rehabilitation. I am a very active person.. I know my body had a lot of wear and tear from college cheerleading and day to day activities. He really paid attention to how my body was responding to the deep tissue massage and gave me very helpful tips on what types of stretches to do after my workouts. I had my first massage session with Jonathan last night (after reading Yelp reviews) and I was very pleased. I'm a bit of a massage snob so I get massages regularly. As a primary care provider, I view massage as a necessary part of overall health rather than a luxury. I just want my massages to be firm, therapeutic, to stretch out my muscles, remove knots, unlock trapped toxins, and relieve muscle tension related headache pain. I'm really glad I made to visit Jonathan, the owner of Firm Hands. A lot of massage therapists just go through the routine and that may be great for relaxation - but if you're a generally active person or an athlete, there isn't much benefit. However, this isn't the case with Jonathan. He is one of the most intuitive massage therapists that I've been to. He was instantly paying attention to how I was physically carrying myself when I walked through the door and shook his hand. His attention to detail and understanding of what may cause issues was also a great education of how I can do some corrective work on my own. I was really amazed at all the good reviews Jonathan was getting on yelp because that's very rare. I went in because I've been having chronic pain on my back and shoulders from working out, stress, and not getting professional massages regularly. He makes you fill out a questionnaire so he can get to know you and what your body needs. You won't get the same massage ever because it is personalized for what you need at that time. I needed a deep tissue massage and man it hurt so good! He was very professional, the place was clean, quiet, and relaxing. This is probably one of the best massages I've ever gotten. Where do I even begin? I just got home from Firm Hands and I cannot express enough how much better I am feeling. For the past couple of days my left leg has really been bothering me along with my upper back and shoulders. So I knew I needed to find a place that would be able to help me. My husband came here a few weeks ago so I decided to give a try and I'm so happy that I did. I message them around 4 PM today and Jonathan got back to me and was able to fit me in around 6 PM. I filled out some forms and then he took me to the back and introduced me to Anna who would be my masseuse. I thoroughly enjoyed Anna's work, she made sure to target all my problematic areas and also was careful with my varicose vein and since I have medical history of deep vein thrombosis She made sure I was OK through the entire process. The pressure was perfect and the stretching was amazing. I clearly do not stretch as I should however Anna made sure that the proper muscles that were sore and achy I need it weren't for properly stretched. I swear I thought I came out of the massage room drunk because I couldn't even spell my own email address. Thank you Anna for such a great job on my body and you have such a great personality and it shows that you really care for your customers. Jonathan is the best, hands down! I've been to him a few times for Swedish massages, but I recently went for a sports massage for intense pain I had been feeling for 3 weeks in my neck and upper back on the left side, which made it even hard for me to move at times. It's been 2 days since the massage and the pain is completely gone! It was my first sports massage and I had no idea what to expect but I'm so happy I got it. Jonathan is A-mazing! I love DEEP massages due to a lifelong strain of my head, neck, and shoulders. He also found some knots I didn't know existed. His massages are very different than most. Mine was done face up where he placed his arms under my back to use my own body weight to increase pressure. He also incorporates a lot of stretching and unique body movements. He uses nicely scented essential oils and the office is clean and relaxing. Special note for the ladies: since the massage is done face up, it might be helpful to wear a loose shirt with easy access to the back, so you're not completely exposed while he manipulates your back. read more

By far the best massage I have ever had. I get massages often going to the typical reflexology/spa/ Thai type massage places. However after going here you will realize the difference. Here Jonathan does focused massages and will really tailor your therapy based on assessment and client needs, something I've never experienced at other places. He is very personable and really makes you feel comfortable. The facility is clean and is very calming and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I will definitely be a returning customer. Firm Hands is a great local business. I have had three visits total, two of which were with Jonathan, and I'm hooked. I am not an athlete, so don't think you need to be to come here. I sit at a desk a lot for my job and carry tension in my neck and shoulders because of it. For that reason, I have found the 30-minute neck and shoulder massage so relaxing and helpful. Plus, Jonathan is friendly and an absolute pleasure to be around. He takes time to explain what kind of massage he's doing, why he's doing it, and how it will help with my neck and shoulder problems.
