I was gifted a lymphatic facial for my birthday this year and came to The Lymphatic Studio for my first experience. I've lived in Long Beach a long time and I have thought this building was abandoned so entering and finding my way with the lights off I was sure I was in the wrong place! Lol, but I wasn't. Once I made it to the 6th floor, Monica was waiting for me in her beautifully serene studio. Her presence was calling, the studio is beautiful, and the entire experience was incredibly relaxing. She gave me a few tips for ongoing maintenance, and sent me home with some detox tea. While the facial treatment was more untraditional in the sense of products, cleansing, etc (the focus was lymphatic drainage), it was very pleasant and you can absolutely fall asleep. I do wish there was an option to add more traditional esthetician treatment with the massage add on, but I really enjoyed it. read more

She sent detailed instructions on where to park, including a picture of the lot which instantly removed the usual pre-appointment stress. How many times have we shown up for a massage already tense from hunting for parking? Not here! I loved that the intake questionnaire was completed ahead of time. Monica already knew my concerns before I walked in, which made the treatment feel personalized from the start. The spa itself is beautifully decorated, calm, clean, and instantly relaxing. Throughout my massage, Monica checked in on my comfort level and made sure the pressure and techniques were exactly what I needed. I ended my session with an infrared sauna, and the option to watch a movie inside made the time fly by (and distracted me from the heat in the best way!). When I finished, she provided cool rags, towels, and a warm cup of tea, which felt like the perfect finishing touch. Before I left, Monica explained what to do and what to avoid so I could get the maximum benefit from the treatment. And the next day, she even checked in to see how I was feeling, such a thoughtful gesture and truly above and beyond. I noticed my face and neck had been storing excess water lately. I'm pretty health conscious and do infrared saunas quite often, but I made an appointment here when I knew my body wasn't releasing toxins the way it should. Went based off the reviews and the fact that it was well-designed and not "sterile" or cheap-looking like many other massage places. Monica was super knowledgeable about the body (the lymphatic system in particular) and talked in depth answering all my questions. She even showed me a couple facial massages I could do at home if I ever felt it retain excess water. Honestly, the next day, I noticed big change in my face! My husband noticed it too. My cheeks and jawline were more defined and my sinus and undereye areas were significantly depuffed. I've been continuing to do the gentle massages at home as needed, but will definitely be back to book another appointment with Monica :) I got the face + body lymphatic drainage massage + castor oil and magnesium wrap in the sauna.
