Avoid this place for mechanical repairs, here is what happened. I went to this place on 1-16-16 with an appointment at 11;00am. The reason of my visit was due to a road noise in the car, since the beginning I was thinking the problem was one of the tires so i decided to take it for a "professional" opinion which did not happen here. To start with even with the appointment i had to wait 2 hours for the car to be check and they told me I needed an alignment which would cost $84.99. I was OK like OK lets do it. After the alignment was completed I took it for a test drive and the road noise still there. I even told one of the employees that the problem maybe the tire and they said NO is not the tire. Another employee approached to me without even testing the car whatsoever and he said it needs a repair worth $997.98 (come on this car has only 34.000 miles still under manufacture warranty and they are recommending this repair to eliminate the road noise. (according to them the car had defected Bearing & Seals Front-left) (work order 154208) So I said no I don't think that's the issue with the vehicle. So i decided to pay only for the alignment which was already done and it was good for nothing. Same day 1 hour later I took my car to another local shop call "petes tires" and I was told that the problem was the tire and nothing else was bad or defected. So I paid for a new tire and guess what problem SOLVED no more noise. Sales teammate, Monica Becerra ROCKS!!! My son had a blow out on the freeway with no spare. I picked him up, took him in to Firestone in Whittier to purchase and mount new tire on his wheel. Needless to say, they were busy at that time, with other customers who were there before us but Monica went above and beyond Customer Service to help us given our situation. Highway patrol informed my son that he must remove vehicle off the freeway and so he did and parked in a residential neighborhood. The only available spot was near a fire hydrant. We took our chances and the left his truck parked on three wheels while we drove to Firestone for purchase of a new tire and to have them mount it on the wheel. We explained our situation to Monica and she did not hesitate to help us in our time of need. Thanks to Monica, we got the tire on, made it home safely and more importantly my son had a Dr. appt he could not miss and he made it on time to that as well. Can't say more but Monica and Anthony stepped up after a super super long day noticed my rear tire low stopped to FS on the way home and asked them to fill up the tire with air where I saw a nail I asked it they can fix it I knew it was closing and they had cars in the bay but Anthony knocked it out quick and Monica took care of it on her end we need more service like that from companies not turn people away for easy knock out jobs. read more

So I have been coming to the Firestone here and there for certain things that I trust them to be able to do correctly and as a paying customer because their prices are not reasonable to be quite honest, well I went in so they can check my one and only tire that I purchased from them on emergency and I also went in to get a quote for my tuneup I have been with them before with my previous car that I had and now I have a brand new car that I was wanting them to start servicing permanently also to see if they can check my tire because the tire pressure goes down almost every single month and because it's new and only had it for about two months they should go and head and check if there's something stuck in it when a man at the counter not sure if he's Filipino but he said it's going to basically take almost 2 hours to go ahead and visually inspect that one tire I told him well I can do the same thing as well this is the third time but I put air into the tire and the previous guy that visually inspected said there was nothing in there and the tire pressure went down again then I said for being a continuing customer including with my old car we should have some kind a priority service and I'm not saying that all move everybody to the side for me, but all he had to say was say sure let's see if my technician has some time to go ahead and inspect the one and only tire because I was not planning to do the tuneup tonight of course not I was planning to do that Monday but because that one tire couldn't get checked out meaning raise my car and see if there's a nail in it because I can visually inspect it myself he couldn't even do that so I won't be coming back to this location or any other Firestone location just because every time I try to make an appointment with them they always seem to have an issue with making appointments for just being able to accommodate The client read more

The only redeeming quality are the reasonable prices (if you double-check your quote, that is). I came in on time for my 10:00 a.m. appointment, but apparently that doesn't mean much, as it is now after 11 a.m. and my car hasn't even been pulled into the garage yet - is still sitting in the parking lot. If that wasn't enough, when I first came to the front desk, I told employee Alfie Balfour (several times) that I had a 10 a.m. appt., and that I received an online quote. Despite this, he punched keys on the computer and tells me that that the tires will cost $66+ each. Huh? My quote was 33.99 per tire. When I told him this (and reminded him that I have a quote I.D. number), he then did more punching and said the new price was $125.95 total installation, with tires at 33.99 (which is what I was quoted). Very unscrupulous to not tell me upfront that he was quoting me for premium tires, without bothering to explain that there were also other tires options. Never mind that he tried to sell me three tires, even though I made it clear I only wanted two (all four tires were identically worn and the only reason I was getting two, was because one of my tires blew). Then, after straightening this out, I sign the printout, and notice that it stated that I didn't have an appointment in it - even though I mentioned that more than once. He then changed it. So....as I finish writing this, it is now almost 11:30, and my car has still not even been moved from its parking space. Why I bothered to make an appointment - my guess is as good as yours. This Firestone is the worst, I had a three O'clock appointment for a front end alignment, I had purchased a lifetime alignment a few years ago and this is the first time I have gone back for a warranty alignment. I arrived at 2:30 it took them two and a half hours to install one tire and then when I started asking what is taking so long they came out with I needed inner tie rods and inner and outer bearings,they never even put my car in the air they used a floor jack to install the tire. they gave me an estimate of 653.40. while I was there I seen then put two cars in front of mine. They were paying for there alignment, I wonder why they were put in front of me? I used to be an assistant manager at this location I know when I'm being lied too. I went home and called three auto parts store and got price's on the parts they said I needed the parts varied in price from 90.00 dollars to 110.00 dollars for all the parts, so that means they were charging me 540.00 labor for maybe two and a half hours labor. this place is a rip off, I wonder how many times they rip people off who don't know anything about automotive repair. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE LIARS. They can stick that lifetime alignment. I called the mechanic who rebuilt my motor and transmission they said they would charge me 325.00 parts and labor. I was in automotive for eighteen years prior to changing my profession we never treated people like this. After reading the other reviews it's apparent that firestone corporate management doesn't care about their customers enough to satisfy them, how much do you think that free oil change would cost you? Yelp says they're open until 7pm. I came in at 6:15pm with a flat tire and got turned away. Tech says they've closed at 6 for a long time now. They "Updated" the hours on the front door by covering the 7 with a hand written piece of scrap paper to say 6pm. Even turned the lights off on us while we sat in the parking lot with a flat. If you're changing your hours that's fine but if you're going to promote your business on Yelp you should update that info as well. Lame! read more

Twice I have had the experience of them trying to convince me to buy a new tire instead of repairing as asked. Then they also say that you need not just that tire but all four! I recommend Salinas Tires on Whittier Blvd (2 locations but Angel at #11500 is honest and helpful and will give a better deal). He fixed tire for cheap and on the spot. read more

I went in yesterday to get a tire Rotation and alignment since I bought my trires there and bought the alignment pkg. The gentlemen said they were extremely busy and for me to make an appt. for tomorrow which I did. So here I leave work early today for my 330 appt. same thing a Lil busy but will have your car ready by 6. Luckily for me I live down the street so I walked over there at 630 since I didn't get a call thinking maybe an oversight. I get there my cars parked so I figured my car was ready. Not. So he starts telling me this and that I walk away from him I was so upset. I told him to cancel the oil change. He says it will take 1/2 hour to do rotation and alignment well it didn't it took an hour. Then I go get my paperwork and he says they will bring your car out in a minute. Since Joel (the only reason I gave this place a shot) left the place has gone down the drain The service manger that is usually there is a fast talking con woman. She either has no idea what she is doing, or the techs are telling one thing and doing another. She said they did a full inspection on my vehicle and they only found a few issues enough max out my Firestone card again. They had my car all day missed and 2 major oil leaks and mechanical issue with my steering. I ve given several chances to work and win my trust as a reputable shop but this place has to be one of the top ten worst Firestone's in California. I just purchased 4 new tires from this location and the service was amazing!!!! Alvaro was very helpful. he informed us over the phone that they only had two of the specific tire i wanted in stock but they could get the other two the next day. i took my truck in to put the two on and when i came back in an hr they had gone to get the other two tires from another location so i wouldn't have to come back the next day. they weren't pushy about getting other services done, they just informed me of the prices in case i wanted to come back. i LOVED the service i received because they went out of their way so i wouldn't have to. Bring my company truck here for regular maintenance under the fleet service plan. Dropped it off at 1230pm Friday for an oil change flat repair and brake inspection. It's Sunday 2pm I'm now standing in the store and they haven't done a damn thing to my truck, saying they could not get approval. Well if you don't try calling the fleet till 430pm on a Saturday how do you expect to get it???? Seriously my truck sat for 2 days and they did nothing. Alfie the sales man just stuttered and tried to ignore that they did nothing to my truck. I will be filling a complaint with the fleet service about this place. I've asked for the district managers number and he just keeps giving me excuses. This is just ridiculous. I grew up in the tire/auto industry, most of my family either ran or owned various stores over the years. I know what can and can't be done and time frames allotted for things. Very unprofessional ! I took my work truck in on 4/30/16 Sat. @ 8:30 am. for an oil change. After giving the service attendant my info, I asked how long would it be because there was not that many vehicles there and I was going to wait. A person behind the counter said 2.5 hrs. I think she was the manager but did not have any form of clothing indicating she was an employee(unprofessional). So I said," So around 11-11:30 it will be done", they said yes and they will give me a call. I'm at home and 11:00 goes by, 11:30 goes by, 12:00 and 1:00 go by. I call them and asked what's happening with my truck, the service attendant said they are pulling the truck on to the lift know. I said I'll be down in 90 minutes to pick it up. I get there at 2:30 pm. and my truck is still parked where I left it at 8:30 in the morning ! I walk to the counter and asked the attendant if my truck was done. He said, " Not yet ". I said to him, " So you lied to me when I called 90 minutes ago and you said they were putting it on the lift ", he said nothing. I told him to give me my keys and I left. I should have seen the signs of bad service and unprofessionalism when the person whom I think was the manager went out to the service bay area and yelled at the service techs to get to work because they were just standing around. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, NEVER come here to get your car fixed!!! I never write reviews on anything but this is one exception. I came to get my battery replaced today. They said it would take about 30 to 45 minuets(I also had an appointment) So I dropped off my car. Waited for them to call me an hour and a half go by and no call. So I call them and ask about my car and they say "yes the mechanic is just finishing up it will be 5-10 min. So I go pick up my car, they bill me, hand me the keys and that was it. Never said anything. So I'm like ok everything is fine. I get home pop my hood and see the new battery. I look and see that only one bracket is tied and the other bracket is gone. So I take a closer look and see that the other metal bracket is actually sitting underneath the battery. So the battery is not level and it's also not secure. So at this point I'm already pissed. You can't put a battery in place without seeing that metal bracket, which blows my mind on how they can just leave it like that. I call up and they ask if I can bring it back, which I really have no choice but to take it back in, to fix their mistake. The guy I talked to ( Heasus) didn't even apologize to me about the situation. I go in talk to him and he said it was rusted and that they are gonna order a new tie down. No explanation on why the bracket is underneath the battery. Now I have to sit here while I wait for them to order a new bracket because they never told me anything was wrong with it. But don't mind me it's not like I have a life or anything to do all day. Total hours spent waiting for a simple battery change a total of 3-1/2 + hours. I took my car in for a diagnostic and they called me the same day saying they could fix my car up and have it for me that same day. At first I was hesitant because I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. I was wrong, they understood my situation and fixed my car up for such a great price. I was in aww by their service. I picked my car up and its working so much better than before. These guys are amazing! I don't understand why there are so many awful reviews. My experience was great and I am definitely coming back for any future repairs or anything for my car. I went into this location last week. The store opens at 7 am and it was 6:45 am and the customer service rep name Jackie went far and beyond to help me with a flat tire. She open the store door while she saw me looking at the house and asked how may she be able too assist me and I told her it's okay you open at 7 am I'll wait, she said it was cold outside and how I can wait inside, next thing you know we are having a conversation and she offered me coffee made me feel comfortable and we end up back at my car and she had them fix my flat tire before store hours. I have never ever expected anyone too do this, especially before opening hours, who does this?
