My car's catalytic converter got stolen this past Friday (I have a Toyota Prius) and because I had a shield on it (well, the back half) the thieves managed to take off the front half of my converter. I was in distraught because this is the second time. My boyfriend and I were about to take my car to another shop in Whittier a little further down Whittier blvd but came across this place first. I figure why not, let's ask them if they have a part available. By the grace of god, they had one converter in stock. Sherif let us know whether we wanted to pay up front and deal with the insurance later or go through the insurance first and risk the possibility of the converter no longer being available. We decided to pay up front and get it fixed right away. It's LA, we need a car to get around. Service was great. Sherif kind of reminds me of Larry David which I'm a fan of haha. He was very up front about prices and how long it would take, etc. which we appreciated. We probably dropped my car off around 9am and picked it up around 8pm. Dealt with my insurance during the time being. This shop is incredibly busy and I can see why! They even put on the front half of converter protector shield and I didn't care what the price was. I just don't want thieves trying to steal my stuff again. He provided us all the paperwork at the end to give to my insurance. I get the feel that this is a locals spot. Every customer was so nice in there. 10/10 recommend if you need any car assistance. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this shop. I came in for what should have been a simple flat tire repair, but the repair took much longer than expected. A younger technician who appeared to be in training was working on my tire, and both the owner and another technician had to step in to help complete the job. After the repair, I later discovered damage near the tire bead in the area where the tire had been removed and reinstalled. Since the damage wasn't something I had noticed before the repair, I returned to the shop to raise my concerns. During my first visit back, the owner told me he would look into it and get back to me. He never did. We tried calling multiple times but couldn't reach anyone, so we had to make a second trip to the shop. At that point, the owner told us there was nothing he could do and said he couldn't tell whether the damage happened at his shop or afterward. What frustrated me most wasn't just the damage itself, but how the situation was handled. I expected better communication and some effort to resolve a legitimate customer concern. Instead, I had to return twice, received no follow up, and ultimately left feeling dismissed. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. read more

Today's April 5 on March 31 I bought parts from this shop the order of the parts through Toyota I found out the parts were only $400 with taxes. The owner here charged me $200 over the price of the parts and then still wanted me to pay $75 for it checking my vehicle when he didn't even drive my car he only moved my car back-and-forth maybe two minutes charging a total of 675 for everything knowing that the parts were only $400 I didn't even do service at a slot. I'm not happy with this person that overcharged me by 275. He could've just been honest and told me about the price. I know everyone's hurting for money but for this reason, I don't recommend the shop I would if he would've spoke to me with honesty about how much everything would it cost today is April 5, 2026 12:58 PM. I normally go to small Mom and pop shops to fix my vehicles, but the shop left me speechless. If you asked me do I recommend the shop to do your car parts no buy your parts personally yourself. Update : I finally spoke with the owner in person after trying to reach them by telephone for almost 2 days. I was very cordial with him & explained what I had noticed. I told him that I know my car wasn't like that when I brought it in & asked if there was anyway he can help me out. He tried to make it seem like I did it myself. I tried to bring it in the night after I picked it up but the owner was MIA that day from what the employees told me, twice. I've been driving this car for about 5 years now & I scrape here & there, sure, but this is ridiculous. He said that he couldn't do anything about it, & that the most he can do for me is "check the cameras". I hope other people see this & don't fall into the trap. Talk to him for 5 minutes & really think to yourself if you trust your hard earned money & your vehicle there. read more

8/19/2025 STAY AWAY..... I brought my work truck in because I had a misfire, my engine light was on and I needed to pass a smog check. I take care of my truck and it runs great with the occasional minor issue so I was shocked when he called to tell me I needed a new engine and he wanted to replace it with a used engine for $4500.00. He spent a 1/2 hour on the phone selling me on all the reasons why I needed a new engine. I was on my way with a check for $2400.00t as a deposit on the job. Thank god something kept telling me something wasn't right. Instead I paid him $150.00 for the fake diagnostics and brought my truck home. The next day I had it repaired for $450.00. We (My wife and I) were about 2 miles away from Sherif's Autocare at about 6:45 at night, when we noticed, our motorhome was pulling to one side. We pulled over and found one front wheel was very hot. We were told about Sherif's by a stranger, and we decided to try and make our way there. We called ahead and were told he closes at 8:00 PM, but he would wait for us. We got there at about 7:45, but the wheel was to hot to work on. Sherif knew we were headed out for a vacation and wanted to get us back on the road. I overheard a call he made to his wife, and it didn't sound like she was too happy, but he decided to stay and help us anyway. He managed to get the wheel off after letting it cool a bit and found we had a stuck caliper. He started making calls and arranging to get parts. He ended up staying there till about 11:00 that night but said he could get us out of there by 1:00 the next day. I didn't really believe it, but I didn't have much choice. We actually got out of there by about noon the next day. I can't say enough good about this man. I highly recommend Sherif Autocare. read more

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS ACTIONS! I brought my car in for a check engine light. Sherif said my engine had a problem and they would have to disassemble half of my engine to fix it and the cost would be estimated at $ 1,200 dollars or more. I told him that was way too much so I got a second opinion and it was just a bad battery which was $140 dollars to replace!! SCAMMER! This guy has a bad attitude, even to the paying customers...not to mention to his own mechanics. Do yourself a favor and keep away from this place. I don't really understand the poor reviews on Sherif's place. I have gone here several times over the last year and have had wonderful service and honest prices. Never had my car damaged or ended up worse off than others are suggesting. I have tried other places and have paid a lot more and have had reoccurring issues with them. I went to the dealer when my Ac went out on the hottest day of the summer. After having my vehicle the entire day, the dealer said I would have to pay just under $1200 to have my Ac compressor replaced. On top of that they charged me for the diagnosis... I was referred to sherifs by the dealers fleet manager of the dealership I originally went to. I showed up to sherif's shop he was nice and courteous. He checked out the car without a diagnosis fee and gave me an extremely reasonable price without making me feel like I had to get it done right then.
