Watauga location is terrible. I have long been loyal to this location for many, many years. Over the last month we have taken two vehicles there. First car they replaced a stud without telling me. Second time this location has stripped a lug nut On my vehicle. Went to pick it up, told did not align. Asked why as have had no prior issues and they did not know. Also lost wheel lock key. After finally finding it I left. While driving noticed the steering wheel was crooked. Call manager said bring it back in. Second try not only fixed the steering wheel but the car magically aligned. About a week ago daughter took her car. Did service and had alignment. Shop stated car did not align. Took it over to alliance location and they had no problems aligning. Seems to me like a pattern so tires wear out faster and/or they can sell you on repairs that are not needed. They need to clean house and bring in honest people. Be aware if you use this location. read more

Worst customer service the manager Marquis Griffin is horrible no solution given refused to change the tires that had nails in them did not want to use road hazard which is the whole point of paying for that! I'm speechless by how amazing this service was for me! I was washing my tires and noticed that my passenger front tire was showing the steel belt. Seeing that this was probably a huge emergency (since I drive a lot of miles each day) I looked around for a place that was opened on Sunday. Luckily, Firestone was opened and saved me. I called and Marquis was so nice and helpful. He got me in right away, even though it was the middle of the afternoon and closing time soon. The pricing was perfect and he even checked my back leaking tire! Words can not express how thankful I am for how quickly and fast he/they got me in and out. I've been to this Firestone location for the past several years for tires, alignment, rotations, etc on multiple vehicles. While the encounters for these past visits have always been satisfactory, the customer service during this last visit was exceptionally great. I dropped off my vehicle to get my tires replaced with a new set. I also opted to have a complete check up done on my car, because I noticed a weird sound coming from the engine ever since getting an oil change elsewhere. Drop off was easy and they assured me that they would call me the next day to update me on the progress. I spoke to Barry at the service desk a couple of times throughout the next day while they worked on my car. Initially he said they didn't find anything wrong when they did the check up. I spoke to him in detail about the sound I was hearing and really felt like he listened to my concerns. He said he would look into it further. It was an off chance that I expected them to find the issue. My main reason for bringing in my car that day was to get my tires replaced. So I didn't expect much when I went to go pick up my car. To my pleasant surprise, Barry informed me what the issue was and confirmed for me that it was indeed related to my oil change. He asked Justin, a tech there, to show me what they found during their inspection. Justin was super nice and explained thoroughly to me what was done to my car. He was informative and patient with my questions. They put in a temporary fix for me which was greatly appreciated. Barry and Justin were awesome and I left here feeling like a valued customer. Great location! Just moved here from Tampa. Needed a new wheel, Kia quoted 1k for one. Crazy. I ordered it online, they installed. Kia also told us our windshield fluid tank pump was out and it was 350 to replace. Told this location and they cleared the pump out and it's working perfectly fine. read more

Was there on 5 separate occasions to get brakes inspected and replaced. They originally ordered the wrong parts. They replaced the front brakes and rotors eventually and admittedly missed the back brakes, rotors and calipers. There was never communication from the beginning until the end. Called the store on a few occasions and had to explain things to every person that answered. They would say they'd get back to me and would never follow up. Car is in worse shape then when I took it there. Front brakes are squeaking and now they won't even repair the warranteed brakes they put on. Store manager is a POS with attitude from the get go. Called corporate and waiting to hear back. Don't go here, they SUCK! read more

I went to Firestone to get my car aligned and bought ht lifetime alignment. After the Firestone auto center had finished my alignment my car was suddenly pulling heavily to the left when I applied the brakes. I noticed they even put this in the notes however, my car had not ever done this prior to letting Firestone do the alignment. After complaining about the issue and returning the vehicle to be fixed they called me and told me that they had missed a bushing on a control arm that had gone out in the initial inspection and that it was causing the issue. Which made no sense to me as the car did not have this issue before, so I said I just give me my car back for now. When I picked up my car I questioned them again on the issue as it did not make sense that this "bushing" was the cause, and they said they also had left a bolt loose and tightened but they were certain that this bushing was the cause of the issue. That was not true though because as soon as I got in my car and took off it no longer pulled to the left when braking, however, now the steering wheel had to be turned about 15 degrees to the right to drive straight. Furious that I had been lied to and received horrible service I called Firestone customer service and was promised to get calls back from the area, district, and regional managers within 48 hours each time I called and never did. Then I was supposed to get a call back from corporate and never did this has been going on over a month it is the worst customer service I have ever received in my life read more

I recently had to bring my company car here because they are a "preferred provider" for our maintenance program. After pre-scheduling a time to arrive my service took over three hours for an oil change and alignment service. During this time they had fewer than 4 total customers. There is no way I could possibly recommend this place. It would be better to go literally anywhere else and pay more. read more

In November, 2022, I called Firestone to ask if they worked on Lexus cars. They said "all the time!" So, I had my car towed to them to replace a starter. When I got the car back, the car made a new whining noise. I had it towed to Firestone again. They said it was a power steering pump and should be replaced, which we paid them to do it. Got the car back - and the whining got worse! They thought it might be the alternator. They replaced it. Whining continued to get worse. I took it back to them - they said they didn't know what was wrong - asked us to take it to the Lexus dealership and maybe they could figure it out. They said they would "make it right." 1) Lexus reported that they used an after market power steering pump and it was leaking fluid badly. The after market band clamp installed on the inlet hose, and factory clamp was still on the hose!! 2) The after-market power steering high pressure line was not installed correctly. It was routed and touching the upper intake support bracket. Additionally, it did not have ANY of the support mounts transferred from the O.E. hose to correctly support it. 3) The after-market alternator has bearing noise at start up....which will have to be replaced! Their answer: They offered to refund my money. I don't want my money back. I simply want them to fix their mistakes - get the car back to "drivable" condition when they took the car in. They obviously have incompetent mechanics working at this place of business. If you're considering having ANYTHING done on your car, here - RUN! BTW - I contacted Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. I was told that they don't respond to Better Business complaints....arrogant people! I called Consumer Affairs in Tennessee - their home State. Their answer: They'll refund my money but not fix their mistakes. So just know if you have your car repaired here, and they mess it up - you'll be on your own!! read more

Be very cautious when a recommendation to replace parts of your vehicle comes up in a conversation. Get a second opinion. You might be paying for something that was not replaced but Firestone tells you it was. I'm speaking from my own experience. Took my vehicle to a different shop due my suspicion. My suspicion was confirmed that the parts I paid for to be replaced was not replaced. The new mechanic would not touch my vehicle because Firestone might not give me a refund. He recommended me to take my vehicle back to Firestone and I did. I pointed out the issue to Firestone, they acknowledged it was not changed, Firestone gave me back my money. read more

Joe and his team found the tires I wanted and had me back on the road in no time! They even put my spare tire back in place and reset the tire sensors on all four. I went to their competitor first but they were three days out and about $300 more! My old tires where Firestones also. They lasted a lot longer than any other brand thus far. 62,000 miles!!! Waited for 1 hour for them to tell me there was nothing wrong with my tires and they just placed Air on two tires , even though I told them their was nails on both tires , few hours later as i was driving to work Yet again my tires were flat . Went back there in the morning and for them to tell me they patched it up because their was nails on the tires..... even though I said clearly at the first visit that there was.... that was the first experience with them And today few months later , I had the same thing happen again , got in my car after they finished patching my tire again , and the tire pressure indicator was still on and it's clearly noticeable that it still needs more work on it ( car leaning to the right very noticeable ) read more

They'll get your car taken care of sure. They even honored a coupon I had for a $20 ok change. Newer, I made an appointment for 2:00 so I could beat the crowds. When I dropped off the car they said it would take 45 minutes. After two hours they finally called to see if they could do extra work, which I turned down, a whole hour later, they finally called to say it was ready. So, even though I got a good deal, it took them 3 hours to get my oil changed even with an appointment. Not cool. I wasnt going to post my initial visit. I was angry but...I felt there was no need. Now, its a diffrent story. I originally brought my car in for an oil change. They told me to make an appointment for the following day so I did. 5:30. I arrived 10 minutes early and to my surprise was told it would take 45 minutes. I was on a time frame but I agreed. An hour and a half later I finally got my car back. I had no time to go anywhere but strait to my sons house to pick him up. Luckily I stopped to put gas and saw liquid dripping with spray all over the engine. I went back and had them check out the car. I was told it was a cracked radiator overflow container. Funny how the "cracked" container started leaking when they touched my car and stopped leaking when I brought it back. I fing know difference between the smell, look and texture of oil and radiator fluid. 3 hours later I have missed my time with my son and had to reschedule a trip i was taking in order to see him the following day. Took my 04 CTS in for a 4 wheel alignment..... I have the lifetime alignments the sell. I had a slow speed ( 5mph) run in with a curb on the drivers side front .... Due to ice. Car was brought into the shop and was only on the lift for 15-20 minutes before I was informed that a full alignment was not possible due to " Seized" suspension components. I was presented with a estimate for $720 to replace these parts. Now I'm a mechanic by trade and work on all of my own vehicles...... So I know that these "seized" parts are in fact not at all. I just don't have a alignment rack to do this myself and I saw no point in paying another shop to do what I've paid already Firestone to do. I took the vehicle to a COMPETITOR of Firestone for a free alignment check.... Just to verify the unsatisfactory results from Firestone. After talking to to the service manager at this COMPETITOR we walked out into the shop and took a look at things. Nothing was "Seized" as Firestone had indicated. Just to one up Firestone the shop not only did what Firestone said they couldn't..... THEY DID IT WITH THE PARTS Firestone SAID WERE "SEIZED". To top it all off...... They didn't charge me........ Just generally: I don't understand the negative reviews here and have a hard time believing them. I've been doing business at this location for over a decade, have had lots of work done on several vehicles, and not once have I had a bad experience. These guys are the best in every way. I didn't have the best experience with this store. My truck was in their shop for 5 days, when it was only supposed to take 1 day to fix, after ordering me the wrong shock. (It's only putting front shocks In and seeing if they were compatible). Every form of contact between the shop and I, was by myself calling them. I never once received a heads up on what was going on, and why it was taking so long, even after I was told multiple times that I would be hearing from them, they never called me back. As I was talking to one of the managers in the back, I overheard the worker say he lost the bolt that went onto my shock, not to worry I was told. It would be found and put in right away. When I called back the next day, this being Thursday, I was told that the bolt was damaged( way to own up to your mistakes) and that they needed to "order in" another one to replace it. ( first off that was a lie, and secondly, there weren't any spare bolts laying around?). To top it all off, when I went to collect my truck, I had spoken to somebody that had given me a heads up on a safety problem that I would encounter. After speaking to my firestone advisor, I had mentioned that Chevy was willing to do it, and I would take it to them. He then told me that he wants to take care of it, as it would cost me a lot less through firestone as they charge $120 an hour for labor, and they would price match the shocks. At this point, it's very obvious they were just trying to get my money. Whilst ringing me up, I had noticed they were charging me $150 for labor. I was told that prices change from store to store, which I understand, but please tell me how a store manager will sit there and tell me that they will be charging $30 less for labor, and then go and charge me more? Like I said, just trying to get my money. Needless to say, although I made plans to revisit this store to have the correct shocks put in, I will not be coming back. It really seems like they were trying to take me for a ride and just get my business. Also, they had charged me $80 for a pair of shocks I found myself for $30 everywhere else. When I mentioned that to my advisor, I was told that they were not able to put shocks I bring to them in, as they only put their products in. read more

HEED MY WARNING!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! PUT THE WRONG OIL IN MY CAR!?!?! When I went in I asked for a specific oil (as I have a foreign car that requires certain oil), when I left I found out that they put the wrong oil in my car. The original work order had the correct oil but my receipt and window tag said they put in the wrong oil. After calling the dealer, they told me to immediately have it fixed as the oil was dangerous for my car. When I called the managers became verbally aggressive with me, one of which offered to change what my receipt said "if that would make me feel better" but refused to fix the problem. Only after 45 minutes of being verbally berated by the managers (they kept trying to pass me off to the other) they reluctantly offered to rectify the problem. Once I was back to the shop neither manager would come out to meet with me. This is also bait-n-switch central. When I originally got to the shop I was told a service would cost a certain amount, and when another clerk rang me up the service had changed to 3Xs the original discussed price (a 300% price increase in 20 seconds?!?!). I will be taking my business elsewhere and I have warned my car club to steer clear. read more

I've never had better consistent service or quality from a mechanic in my life. I do everything I can do to support my local businesses and I tend to be loyal until service levels decline. I've been with this Firestone for four years now, getting all my tires, oil changes, wiper blades, tune up, alignment and more for two cars and a large truck. They'll sell you lifetime alignment for a little more than a standard alignment. With that you can pull in anytime and get an alignment and rotation. We do it for all of our cars. Every oil change we have them do alignment and rotation. That's awesome. No extra charge. When the oil change is like 20-30$ for our various vehicles, that's a big value. Everyone who works here is a long time industry veteran. The mechanics are extremely talented. The management supports creativity and the team is happy. I see they got some less than perfect reviews so I had to throw my .02. It's easy to be grumpy when you need a mechanic. It's like the dentist. When you go, you want it to be as simple and painless as possible. Keep up with your regular maintenance and like the dentist, you'll leave with all your teeth :) Handsome Sid Newby read more

Came in for inspection, oil change. They said it would take an hour. No problem I will wait here. After hour and a half I watched them finally pull into garage. I also watched as no one touched it for 30 more minutes. When I asked about my car he said it was finished and they just put it there until they had a chance to write a report. REALLY! Then waited. I had a nail in my tire this morning so drove over to Firestone to have it repaired. Joe was very nice and quickly did the service write up. He told me the repair would be free and they would get me in and out. While waiting for the repair I talked to Joe about their service operation (I work in the automotive business too). He was very personable and I could tell he cared about his job and fellow employees. I walked to the donut store and bought donuts for his staff, totally worth the free repair and friendly service. read more

They said they needed to change filters that I knew did not need changing, they took forever and then did not even know how to reset my car's maintenance light. While I was watching them fumble around with my car, I looked up the instructions, asked them to get out of my car, reset the system myself in under a minute. I went to Firestone with a metallic rattling noise that sounded like a strut mount to me .. They found my left front cv axle and boot needed to be replaced. So I told Firestone to go ahead and replace the cv axle and boot and asked if that was the cause of the noise and they said the strut on the front left was blown out and that was the cause of the noise. So I purchased struts and was going to replace them on Christmas Eve but it was too cold ,so on Christmas Day (which was warmer) I spent four hours replacing my front struts and when I completed the job and drove my car on a test drive the noise was still present. Firestones repairs and the repairs I completed that they recommended made no improvement to the noise . I don't understand how a modern mechanic shop can have so little troubleshoot ability . Then I took my car back to them again because I have lifetime alignment with them on my vehicle and asked them to align my vehicle and troubleshoot the noise again and they said everything was ok and they could reproduce the noise for purpose of troubleshooting. No Friends and Family discount and acted like he didn't need my business. Manager was on vacation, you would think that the teammates would exceed the managers expectation. Dropped truck off for free tire rotation and I also had a very slow leak in one tire. Received call 3 hours later and was told that I had a large piece of metal in the sidewall that could not be repaired. A new tire with road hazard was quoted at $295. I told them to proceed but that I wanted to see bad tire when I arrived. Bad tire had a small brad nail in it. Far cry from a large piece of metal and it could be plugged. I made them put the old tire back on. This place is a ripoff. This is only my second dealing with a service center in TX since arriving in June and both have been crooked. I hope that the third time is the charm. Regarding Firestone, this is my fifth service center to visit in 4 states and this is the only negative experience I have had. They need to read their founders slogan that is hanging in their lobby. read more
