I met up with a friend for golf in Salinas and her Mini Cooper's tire pressure was not the same in all tires. It was almost time for them to close and the guy at the desk say pull up to door #4 and Juan came out to help us. He inflated all of the tires and she was able to make it home. Thank you guys. read more

Thank you for the great customer service you all provided for my niece. We sent her to Firestone thinking she needed a front end alignment or have her tires balanced. The service technician looked at her car and showed her she needed new tires not an alignment. We had the tires for her car, so they only Charged her nothing for the recommendation. Thank you for your honesty and great customer service Firestone in Salinas. read more

I went to this place twice within two weeks for a wheel alignment. The first time was on Black Friday 2019, left the parking lot and steering wheel was turned left while driving straight which caused the stabilitrak malfunction light to come on. The vehicle was pulling to the right as well after they did the alignment. 1 week later they tried to correct the mistakes that the previous mechanic made. They got the stabilitrak light to turn because they straightened the steering wheel but the vehicle continued to pull to the right after they aligned it. The guy at the counter came up with some stupid excuse saying it was my brand new tires causing the vehicle to pull to the right. The cause was their incompetent mechanics. Finally got the vehicle aligned at another place and they clearly stated that the mechanics at Firestone have no idea what they're doing when it comes to alignments. read more

We found a screw in our tire in the LA area and it was repaired with a plug. It continued to leak and needed a patch to properly finish the repair. We called Firestone to see if they could fit us into their schedule and the man who answered the phone wasn't very pleasant and told us that a patch couldn't be done after a plug. They obviously didn't want to help or were hoping to sell us a new tire. We went to Les Schwab the next day and they took care of immediately and we're incredibly professional. read more

I downloaded Yelp just so I can leave a review for this company. Salinas manager Monica is a deceitful liar and does not own up to her wrong doings. I have been trying to get a technician job at this location on and off for over a year and she'd never call me back. I had moved on until I received a call from the recruiter, I figured I'd give it a chance so I scheduled an interview. When I came in for the interview Monica had no idea there was an interview scheduled or who I was at all, and she interviewed me standing at the front desk while customers waited behind me. She said I was on board and she would be taking the next steps to get me hired, we spoke about a start date, the uniform policy, the pay rate, the hours, when I'd be putting in my two weeks in at my current job, company paid schooling, etc. We were just waiting on the recruiter to send me the hiring paperwork, but it was taking a while. I called Monica a week after I hadn't received anything, she said she'd contact the recruiter again. She also informed me that she was hiring 2 additional people along with me and wasn't experiencing any problems with them so she wasn't sure what was taking so long with me. I contacted Monica in person and over the phone on over 10 more separate occasions over the course of these last 4 weeks. Each time she said she'd contact the recruiter again to send the paperwork to get me started. The last time I came in the store was last week and she said she would contact corporate since she still wasn't hearing anything from the recruiter. Monica said she didn't have a number for the recruiter and refused to give me their email, so I had to call around and get their number and email myself. When I called them they informed me that not only did Monica NOT contact them, they did not have any record of my application at all. I thought that makes no sense, how could the recruiter contact me if there's no application? So I attempted to apply to the most recent position available just to see. Of course the website would not allow me to do so because it said I cannot apply for the same position twice. So clearly my application was in the system at some point and Monica deleted it behind my back. I applied for the Watsonville location just to get my name back in the system and I was called by the recruiters the next day and told them what went on. They were on board with getting me started here at Salinas, they just had to transfer my application to this store. They called Monica to get the ball rolling but instead she graciously informed them that she was "no longer considering me for the position." She said that she went ahead with the 2 other people she was hiring over me. I told the recruiter that those 2 guys were being hired with me, not instead of me, but there was nothing they could do about her lying to me or deleting my application. I called Monica at the store immediately after and she denied everything, she said, "I never said you were hired, sorry you were misinformed." Does this sound like a person that would give you an honest quote or estimate on your vehicle? No. I would NEVER take any vehicle I intend to keep running to get work done at the Salinas Firestone based on how the manager treats potential employees. Imagine the lies she feeds to the customers. read more

Came in. For a front end alignment everyone was friendly and helpful. After driving my car for a couple days I am hearing grinding metal sounds when I turn to the left. Won't go back, hopefully find another place more knowledgeable. read more

Had a urgent tire situation on a weekend and the stuff especially Monika was amazing! She went out of her way and even checked the tire i was looking for at other shops for me! as they didnt have the exact tire i was looking for. I didn't see someone who cares about their job this much for a while! Then she found alternative tire in their store and saved my day! They stayed longer than their closing time just to get me going. Thank you so much for being very good at what you are doing. Ferrari 458 read more

My son was driving on Highway 1 near Big Sur when his tire pressure monitor light came on. His tire was cut on the sidewall by road debris. 4 tires were purchased from Wheel Works in Sunnyvale, CA about a year ago (owned by same company that owns Firestone Complete Auto Care) with a road hazard warranty. I called Firestone in Salinas, CA and told Monica that my son was driving from the Big Sur area on the doughnut spare. She looked up my phone number on file, found what was actually purchased about a year ago and that the tires were covered by the road hazard warranty, and that 12 such tires were in stock. Everything was waiting for my son when he arrived. The replacement process went very smoothly. read more

DO NOT TAKE your car(s) here for auto care. They work on your car for HOURS, mess it up, send you on your way. You will be SURE to have problems with your car and then when you return that is when they will get you. It is true that they leave your oil cap off. If you got your breaks done, beware bacause they did not bleed our breaks and we were driving down the street in a car that would not stop (yes we turned it right back around). Erika has a terrible attitude and isn't really concerned about customers. BEWARE. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR(S) HERE!! read more

In light of my recent series of nightmares involving Midas in North Salinas, I was a bit concerned when I didn't have a go-to car repair place. This especially became problematic yesterday when my car died at a traffic light, and today when it just wouldn't start altogether. I went into panic mode. Luckily, my husband remembered that there was a Firestone by the mall. He managed to get my car started, and made it there okay. The mechanics and service personnel were awesome. After a quick but thorough exam, it was determined that I was in need of a new battery. They also replaced my air filter (which was filthy due to the fact that after my last oil change Midas did not seat it in its housing correctly), and replaced my front brakes and rotors that Midas effed up as well. They do have the option of opening a credit card with them (which my husband did). It offers 10% off all work done that day and a 90-day no interest window. All in all, after the credit card discount and the $25 rebate we got on the brake pads, the total for a new battery, air filter, brake pads, rotors, and labor was less than $500. I have yet to find a place anywhere that can beat that. The best part is that the job was done CORRECTLY in just over two hours. How amazing is that? These guys earned my future business, and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I have been going to Firestone for years for tires. The warranty is longer than the life of any set of tires I've ever used. After the lube shop in Seaside closed where I normally get my oil changed, I started coming here so I can get my tires rotated at the same time. So far all the work has been performed well, except for my drum break replacement. There was too much play in the brake pedal, but I brought it back in and it is fixed. My biggest gripe is how long it takes them to finish the job. I don't look forward to sitting around here, but at least my car is cared for. read more

I went here for years; put up with poor service because of their convenient location, plus Midas on North Main has their own issues at times mostly caused by overworked help. However, in that time Firestone: 1) Stripped the oil plug in my car by cross-threading it. I found out the next time I changed the oil and saw the damage and leaking oil. 2) I dropped the car off and asked them to lube a new squeaky belt and they replaced the belt and charged me $75. Told me I could have the "old" belt back though! 3) They're big on "fill & flush" services for tranny & radiator. In the case of the tranny they don't remove the pan so the old filter full of dirty oil is left in the transmission. In the case of the radiator they flushed the radiator and a week later a mechanic friend found that the entire cooling system was severely clogged (because my son had put in the wrong coolant the year before). So the $95 I paid to flush the system was wasted. Firestone evidently saw the rusty water coming out and just buttoned up the car and said nothing. 4) Everything with these guys is "inspect", but they really don't inspect, they run your car through quickly and as in the case of #3 don't pay attention to important details. I actually pay attention to the work done, and when I find fluids low after they were supposedly "inspected" I know they just cranked it through. 5) I've seen them put the lug nuts back on with the air ratchet without torquing them. Last time it took a wrench with a cheater bar to break the nuts loose. They must have been on at 150 ft. lbs. 6) Final straw: I bought two new front tires, one of which had a radial pull. This happens, and isn't a huge deal. I took the car in and they told me that the car really wasn't pulling to the right, the real problem was that my steering wheel was "crooked". Because I kept trying to straighten it out the car was being "pulled" to the right! I swear. (Guess that's why I kept slamming the right side of the car into everything over and over right?! I mean, if the wheel is crooked then I'm just naturally going to crash the car trying to get the logo on the wheel straight!) They said they actually pulled the steering wheel and "re-oriented it". Unbelievable. I moved the front tire to the rear and the pull stopped. I'm still stuck with the tire though. If you need tires go to America's Tire. If you need car service I can't personally recommend Midas, but I won't go to these hacks. By the way, forget the paper they put on the floor, every time I got my car back it was covered with greasy handprints, and was left unlocked in their parking lot. read more

I've brought my car to Firestone for all services for as long as I've lived on the Monterey Peninsula, since around 2005. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. I trust them completely to keep my car in good running order, and that's what they've always done. The only reason I took away a star is because service does tend to take a long time. I obviously want them to take the time they need to to get it right, but even just an oil change can sometimes take a couple hours or longer. I generally have to dedicate an entire Saturday afternoon anytime I need to go in. read more

every expensive shop!!!! I called to get an quote for fixing my car. the manager told me to come in, so that he could take a look. so I went, and he told me it cost over $450, $122 for parts, and $257 for labor, and $100s for other stuff for fix a radiator. I did not want to, but since that's the closest shop i can find within my distance. I decided to let them fix it. Next day, they called me i need to replace the water pump too b/c it leaking like crazy, they also told me that the timing bells were contaminated, they recommending i should changed them too, b/c when changing pump they would need to left up the bell. But there's no labor for changing the timing bells, only charging for the pump. the Estimated cost for water pump and bell is over $870... thank you FireStone, they did not tell me that the water pump is leaking when i first went in. so they fixed radiator, then told me to replace the water pump!!! If i know i need to replace that many parts at first I would have go to other shop... replace radiator, water pump, would cost over $1k?? are you serious!!!!!! so I drive home with a fixed radiator car, and LEAKING water pump to my home... I have to find a cheaper shop to fix my water pump.... I would NOT recommend for this shop!!!!! basically, it's a rip off.... read more

So I had apprehension with Firestone from previous experience, in which I felt like they were trying to take advantage of my friend. This of course was a different location. This time around I needed new tires, and they offered inexpensive options that Costco does not. I normally get my tires done there while shopping. However it can be a LONG wait there as some locations do not take appointments, so you might be looking at a 6 hour window! Here at firestone I got a set of new tires, along with wiper blades. Normally I'd opt out if extras, but they had a $10 instant rebate on wipers, so the set cost me $11. Kevin was my advisor and he was great. Efficient, professional, and on point. He got me in and out in under the quotes time. Martin worked on my car and he was very nice to deal with. He also got my wipers on quickly. They have a waiting area, wifi, vending and clean restrooms. I'd be back for future service. read more

I needed a new battery for my truck and they installed it wrong. First they didn't install the battery tie down (they literally left it setting in the truck bed) and they sat the 45lb battery right on top of a wiring harness which later sparked and shorted part of the electrical system. Of course Monica the manager said just bring it in and they'd fix it for a fee to which I said no. I informed her that I didn't trust her shop and I would complain which I did. The Firestone Regional Manager totally ignored my complaint and did not even return my call......nice hook up chica. Myself and a neighbor fixed the electrical system and I notified the California BBB and my next stop will be the BAR and a civil attorney! The next time they turn off the lights and lock the front door on that business might be the last............ read more

Just want to commend the Firestone staff for demonstrating great professional customer service. I took my car earlier today and was greeted cordially by their head service consultant, Kevin. Although I did not schedule an appointment for an oil change, he assured me it would not be a problem. I usually hesitate when taking my car to mechanical shops since they tend to use their mechanical terminology, which can confuse and frustrate a customer. However, Kevin's customer service conveyed understanding and attention about my vehicle's needs. After Kevin had jotted down my car information, he introduced me to Albert, the gentleman that would be working on my car. Albert acknowledged me politely and explained the procedure they do for an oil change. This kind gesture indicated Albert's professional etiquette in the workplace. In addition to my experience, I noticed the team displayed remarkable customer service to other clients that arrived. This resonated with me because it showed they treated all customers with courtesy and respect. While Kevin was helping me out, Philipe, a Firestone team member, greeted me attentively by saying "good morning" and then helped another customer that was eagerly waiting. I praise Philipe's awareness of the customer because he treated that person with the same respect I received from Kevin. Therefore, I definitely recommend Firestone to other customers. I can truly say I am a completely satisfied customer. By the way, the complementary inspection was icing on the cake. Thanks guys! read more

THIS PLACE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST. DO NOT GO HERE. I made an appointment for 1 pm for an oil change. At 3 pm the FINALLY brought the car back. I went up to the desk at 4 and asked how much longer as oil change should not take over an hour. The guy told me they had just brought the car into the shop. Then tried to claim making an appointment is considered drop off. Never once had that been relayed information prior to the appointment. Worst service. Will never be back. This was the worst, laziest, cant do example of customer service ever. I called to ask if they had trailer tires. They did but when I limped my trailer there with a damaged tire, they bizarrely said they couldn't put it on the boat. Couldn't venture out into the parking lot. Only one mechanic working. 4 more standing around with nothing to do. Wow, definitely not like it used to be. read more

I have had nothing but problems with this location! Started with my husband failing to be told he needed new shocks and struts and needing to replace the tires after like 3k miles because they wore horribly wrong. Next, brought my suburban and 30 minutes after getting new tires and an alignment I hear a horrible squeaking in my driver rear tire they claim they had nothing to do with. Lastly, they called me to let me know my sister in laws car was done even though she told them that was not the right account and then proceeded to charge my account without me even being there! I will never EVER go back to this location. I'd rather drive farther for better service. read more

I went into this place about two years ago for a new air conditioner. I just wanted to say that the front staff are GREAT!! Very nice and attentive. But the manager was distant and rude. After getting my air conditioner replaced, I had to take it in twice to get the job done right. It blew cold for a day and then warm air twice...as if nothing were ever installed. Went to Firstone to fix a tire with a nail in it. They wanted $20 for it, which is a high price, but who else was open on Sunday afternoons? After waiting 45 minutes the said the could not fix the tire because the tred was below 32nd of an inch and was showing wire. This was simply not true. I stated this looked like a policy to sell more tires. The receptionist who insisted this was true, but she never looked at the tires herself, but was parroting the written report. She continued to try and upsale me with lifetime alignement, and fuel system cleaning, despite my obvious dissatisfaction with their decisions. The next day, a tire company across the street from Firestone fixed my tire for free, confirmed that there was much tread left on the tire and did not upsale me on any other products.
