Summary of my review for those of you short on reading time: GO ANYWHERE ELSE! HORRIBLE! Visited Firestone on 4/2/19 for a 9:30AM appointment with my fiancé for his car's routine oil change. We walked across the street to Dick's Sporting Goods while we waited. At about 10AM, we got a call that the car needed three new tires, a coolant flush and new rear brakes. We agreed, wanting to take care of the car that we use for daily commuting and were told it would be about an hour's wait as the tires were arriving from another location. Fast forward to 2:30pm and $950+ dollars later: YES we waited until 2:30pm for this "tire delivery". Literally our ONE day off during the week and we were not kept up to date on this delivery, apologized to, or advised to get a ride home if we didn't want to spend our entire day waiting. Instead, the employee just continued to ensure us the tires would be there "very soon". It gets worse. Finally (at 2:30pm) we are finished and the car is returned to us. On our drive home, however, the car begins to rock back and forth (pretty aggressively) whenever my fiancé's foot touches the brakes and the check engine light comes on. Once we park at home (approximately 3pm), we call Firestone. The employee assured us that this is just a "coincidence" and to give it a few days prior to bringing the car back to be looked at. Two days pass and the light remains on and the car continues to rock back and forth when the brake is pressed. We again contact Firestone - only this time we are told "This has nothing to do with the work we did, and it will be $100 for us to take a look." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We are currently waiting for Firestone to make this right. We were having no issues with the car when we brought it to them for routine maintenance. The issue with the car emerged immediately after they returned the car to us after working on it. And now, after being contacted immediately and nearly a grand later - they want $100 to take a look? This is a joke and I hope that anyone who needs ANYTHING done to their car doesn't fall victim to a scam like this. Perhaps I should have read the reviews before trusting them with an oil change. Customer service and best business practices are the last thing on their minds and I will certainly make sure I let everyone I can know about this terrible experience. read more

I took my truck in for a an inspection. Teddy the manager called and said the truck needed front brakes to pass. I told him you just did them 4,000 miles ago and I have your receipt. Came in for an alignment and leave after paying the only 100 bucks for a car that still needs an alignment. See the enclosed paperwork they said there's nothing they could do which turns out that's not true they didn't offer me any options until after the service was paid for. They should've told me that my car needed a kit so it could be further adjusted but they didn't tell me anything they just took my money and then gave me a car back still out of alignment. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!! EVER!!!! I REPEAT....DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARE HERE!!! I had a 2017 model with less than 16,000 miles in for inspection and they told me they couldn't pass me without 2 new tires..TOTAL BS!!! Car has since passed elsewhere!!! I had to wait for them to finish the inspection that I already failed. While I waited I listened to them speak with each customer...every single customer, 7 individuals, were ALL recommended alignment. When I dropped it off I saw the same with another customer and heard the guy talking to 2 additional customers on the phone regarding inspection....both were recommended, you guessed it, alignment!!! Paid for failed inspection and told him to enjoy it because it was the last dollar they would ever get from me....he just laughed and told me to have a nice day.....total joke! read more

The Manager is a crook. Took my car there because the ABS dash light came on. Kevin called me and said he couldn't fix it and I should bring it to the dealer. Then he had the nerve to charge me $108 for a "diagnostic" service on the car!!! read more

This place is unreal. The guys at the desk were rude. When I first called they said they could fix the starter on my car with no problem that day. When I got the tow truck to take it over there they said they could not fix it that day. When I complained and reminded them that whoever I spoke to on the phone told me it could be done that day, they proceeded to check my car out. They charged me $30 for a "check" just to tell me that my starter was dead, which is something I already knew, and then they attempted to charge me close to $600 for the starter with labor. I walked out as soon as I understood that starters cost anywhere from $60-$150. Unbelievable. I will never go here again. read more

So ima give an honest rating for the sake of being fair and impartial. They did a good job on tires, mounting and balancing, if you're going here for that I guess it's fine. But now let's get into the other part, initially when I walked up to this place getting a tire replacement on all four. I asked if I can bring in my own parts for the TPMS sensors to be changed with my own parts in the car. The guy working the cash register said "yes we can do that. But there's no guarantee that it will work" so I agreed told him the parts are there, the next day however I get a contradictory statement from another person saying "oh it's against policy, we can't do that" and also got a call saying the "offset of my camber is very positive and the tires won't last a month" "we may need to replace your stocks and struts too" Which was a load of bs. So at this point I'm more so curious are you guys lying to make sales, or are your guys just not informed properly about company policy. I'm not gonna name drop but this location was probably the worst I've been to in all of the firestones I've ever gone to. Again good for if you want a simple tire change, rotation, balance. I had been a long time customer of Firestone and I regret it completely. I brought my one year old car in for an inspection and tire rotation. They told me my tires were "almost bald", measuring at 4 and 6, and that something must be really wrong with my alignment. That sounded fishy for a new car, so I refused the alignment and brought my car over to Sears for a free alignment check. Sears said my alignment was fine and told me my tires were all 10s with no wear. I was shocked and told them what Firestone had said. They were equally shocked and confirmed that Firestone was clearly trying to rip me off. I am appalled and will definitely be sharing this story on every review platform I can find. Shame on Firestone. Update: In case anyone thinks Firestone tried to correct or make up for this issue because of their response below, they didn't. I emailed and was told I'd be contacted by the store manager in a day or two. Not that I thought it would accomplish anything but it's been well over a week and I haven't heard from anyone. Upon arriving all of the handicap spots were taken by employees cars double parked. Waited on line listening to the manager try to tell people there cars wouldn't pass inspection unless they or new batteries /belts etc. all bullshit! Asked how long for an inspection after I told them my Vechile was a 2014 I was told they didn't have anymore inspection stickers. While walking out they guy behind me with an old car was told he could get an inspection. Guess they didn't want to waste there time with my new Vechile because they couldn't rip me off. My 21 year old son went there for an oil change. He waited for an hour before being told that he needed rear brakes and rear tires. Last year, he was told by them that he needed rear brakes also, which were replaced. The car had been brought in under his fathers name last time and not mine, so they had no idea they had already replaced the brakes recently. Obviously, they were trying to rip off a young guy who doesn't know about cars. He ended up waiting more than an hour before they completed the oil change. He was there for over 2 hours for an oil change. I will not be returning for any of my cars. read more

Last time I went for an oil change I had gotten my car serviced under warranty a few months before, but still Firestone said multiple things that I had just gotten done needed to be fixed. They are liars and thieves. Hard sell for unneeded work which still wouldnt have fixed the problem. I paid for work which was not done. My mechanic who got sick said no way they did what they claimed and I paid for, When I went back....they were so smooth it was obvious they knew what to say and had a million excuses ready. Got two tires mounted and they don't even clean the rims which prevents the seal from holding on the tires. Then the manager proceeds to tell me that they only clean them when the customer brings the car back with the issue. What??? How does that make sense..why wouldn't you do it right the first time.. They make you wait forever and then tell you to either wait or leave. I have been to this location twice, before going there I called to see if I could come in for an oil change they told me that they will take me right away but when I went there they told me it would be half n hour wait and later on they asked me to wait for another 45 minutes. I've been coming here for a while. They get the job done, yes, but overcharge. I have a direct comparison with the Selden Firestone. I accidentally called Selden recently and got a quote for a car checkup in preparation for a big road trip and was quoted $9.99. Fair enough. I call this Firestone afterwards and I'm quoted $19.99. I ask why. It's because "checking the brakes costs more". OK, I say to myself. I call back Selden. I ask if the $9.99 covers checking the brakes. I'm told, "Of course we'll check them for you, it's part of the package". So I know for a fact that this Firestone in Lake Grove overcharges. I don't want to give them business anymore if I don't trust them for being dishonest. I don't even care that they're right next to the mall (which does make for good passage of time). They can't take advantage of people who aren't totally car-minded! Also the front desk guys aren't very friendly. Go to the Selden Firestone... They'll treat you better there. As a daughter of a mechanic, I have heard horror stories about sleazeball mechanics and shops that try to pull a fast one on you. At Firestone Complete Auto Care - Lake Grove, I feel like I can trust them. The supervisor gave me car advice, without being pushy or making me feel compelled to do the repairs immediately.
