Had an appointment at 11 but when I got there they said it was going to Take a couple hours for an oil change because they were busy... what's the point of the appointment. That was 1. Second, they called me to say I needed a battery because my battery tested bad. I didn't get it. I went to get a second opinion because I wasn't even having problems with the battery or starting my car & it tested good. I don't normally go to this location but it was more convenient at the time. Im super disappointed with this shop. I came in for a simple oil change and had to go back 3 times because my oil was leaking. They put on a new filter and it continued to leak. I had to take it to another shop to see if they could resolve the issue. Turns out, it's was a bad filter again. I called and spoke to the manager, Chris and he was very rude and unprofessional about the issue. It was not my fault or the other shop's fault. I have seen Chris interact with customers and he is not very nice. Maybe he needs a vacation? I will never return to this business and I regret taking a line of credit out with them. read more

I got a flat tire last Friday afternoon around 3 o'clock. I had stopped at Jiffy Lube to check my tire pressure indicator light and found there was a nail and a cut in my tire. They recommended I go across the street to fire stone. I explained I needed a tire pretty quickly and they went out of their way to accommodate me on a Friday afternoon. I usually like coming to Firestone Complete Auto Care because they're mostly honest about the work they do and what needs to be done. However, that wasn't the case this time. I felt as though the associate who assisted me was up selling me on anything and everything. I called 30 minutes prior to showing up and the gentleman told me that their wait time wasn't too long for an oil change. But here I am, two hours later, granted-- I asked for a full inspection. But even that shouldn't take more than an hour if there was only one car ahead of me and a full staff of five people. they didn't start the oil change until I denied any other labor being done to my car. I came here because they treated customers like human beings. But I'm turned off by the service I was given today. I'll stick to my own mechanic from now on. Horrible experience here I went in for a tire and decided I would do the oil change since it was convenient instead I have been back twice now for a faulty oil filter and have had to pay out of pocket more money since my car broke down due to this and now I'm out of town told the workers I had to have my new car ready and now I have to go take my car in the middle of my family Disney vacation that I can't reschedule and have already paid for so I'm out the money for the day at Disney since I have to take my car back AGAIN for the same thing oh and did I mention the fact they lost my rim cover on one of my tires told me they ordered a new one a week later and now they say oh just go buy it and we will reimburse you are you serious why would t you just tell me that from the beginning this has been the worst experience ever I will never go back I tried to give them a third chance and my whole vacation ruined is what I got for it read more

I had a good experience at this Firestone. I went in to get new tires because mine were at the end of their life and I needed an alignment on my BMW Z4 because I could feel my car pulling to the left, especially on the freeway. It was the most annoying thing! Someone told me that I should only take my car to the BMW dealership for an alignment, so I doubted that Firestone would do a good job. Plus, their $100 lifetime alignment sounded too good to be true and I was convinced that it meant compromised quality. But the Firestone employee assured me that their laser guided alignment is just as good as the dealer's. Since the dealer (more like the stealer) wanted around $250 for just one alignment, I figured it could't hurt to see how good of a job Firestone could do first. When I got my car back, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the issue with my car pulling to the left was completely fixed. It has been a couple of months now and my car still drives perfectly straight. $100 for lifetime alignment and they do a solid job. You can't beat that! read more

Problems from rude service, to long wait times (even though I had an appointment) they took walk-ins before the appointment. Walked out to leave for work one morning to a flat tire. Luckily, I had AAA, and they were there with a tow truck within 15 minutes. Firestone was opening at 7 AM, and we headed there first. They said no problem to take a look at it. In less than an hour, they said it was fixed, and I was on my way for $20. I was extremely pleased with the service provided. read more

I'm going to start off by saying I have a really big grudge against Firestone the company for many reasons. I've been to many of their locations over the years in the past and have got nothing but bad terrible results. I personally do not visit Firestone for my own vehicle but I am forced to get my company vehicle serviced by national maintenance companies for fleet service. This Firestone exceeded my expectations for them as they actually got done with my vehicle SOONER than they anticipated. This is a FIRST for any Firestone that I've ever been to. I was amazed when I dropped my vehicle off in the morning that is was ready to go in the morning time (AM) and not towards the end of the day. Every Firestone I've been to sits on the car ALL DAY and claims fleet authorization non sense, meanwhile I'm out of transportation all day. Another thing to note was the friendly service I received from the guy working there, usually they treat fleet vehicles like crap because they can't up sale anything to me personally and have to get everything authorized through someone else. I am really impressed by this location's display of speed, service and they fixed an issue for me that Jiffy Lube caused during my last oil change. Since this place is in my general area, I'll definitely be returning to get my truck serviced in the future. Also another good part about this place is it is open 7 days a week, so Sundays is an option here. read more

So I made an appointment for this place last weekend just to get my oil changed because my roommate got his oil changed her as well and he said it took over an hour. Then the next morning when I went down there, they said I didnt have an appointment (and keeping in mind I was one of only two cars there) and I ended up waiting over 2.5hrs to get an oil change. They did accept a pretty good coupon but it still wasn't worth the wait. I can't comment on their other automotive services because I only went in there for an oil change so I'll leave that aspect up to someone else who has been here before. read more

I began taking my 2006 Rav4 here when I moved into my apartment about a year ago, because it is right across the street and I can walk home while getting repairs. The first thing I noticed was it was expensive. Most consumer car repair shops are, so I was willing to pay, if nothing more than for the convenience of having a place to take my car that was within walking distance. The real issue I had was a few weeks ago I took my car in to get the alternator replaced. I left it on a Friday night, and didn't get it till late Saturday evening. The complete repair included the alternator, two tires and an alignment. I got a glimpse of the front counter guy's computer screen which had like three prices on it. One was a "suggested price" which was over $1,500. Luckily I had a discount through my auto club and it brought the price down to a little over $1,000. Whatever, I paid. They mentioned that there were some more recommended repairs, but I didn't have the money to do it then. The next day when my wife picked me up from work, I noticed that there was a scraping noise coming from the car. Once we started driving, pedestrians started waving us down and said that the "undercarriage" was dragging on the road. We pulled over and I noticed that the oil pan splash shield was in fact dragging on the ground. We took it back to Firestone and one of the mechanics came out and "replaced" the little plastic clips that had somehow not been installed. Good on them. Then next morning we noticed that the heater was taking forever to get warm, like ten minutes. It's December. It's effing cold. I know that when the heater isn't blowing warm air, that means a coolant problem, and if it's a leaky radiator, or coolant pump, it might be expensive. I told her to watch the temp meter after she dropped me off, and sure enough, soon after it started to rise and overheat. She had to stop and let it cool like ten times on the way home. I have noticed that after taking my vehicle to Firestone, lately, my car has been having more issues then when I took it to begin with. I don't want to think they intentionally break sh*t so you will come back, because that is straight ILLEGAL. But I suspect that they might have inexperienced mechanics working there that inadvertently mess up which will bring you back anyway, to pay more that you otherwise shouldn't have to. So I took my car somewhere ELSE by recommendation from a family member for the wheel bearing Firestone recommended, and was going to charge me over $500 for, and to find the coolant leak problem. Sure enough, this other place found that I had a radiator hose that had been disconnected and not reattached. AND they only charged me $350 for the wheel bearing replacement. Long story short, don't take your car here, no matter how close you live. You will overpay regardless, and most likely, you will get your car back in worse shape than you left it. read more

I've been shopping around for new tires for my truck, checking tire reviews on-line and prices around local tire shops and found the best deal here at Firestone (Destination A/T's are super highly rated on tirerack!). The lady on the phone was friendly and knew what she was talking about - made me an appointment for the next day. I show up the next day, all my info is on the computer - 4 new tires and an oil change in less than 2 hours....I'm stoked. I have been taking my car here for a couple of years and have never had an issue. I always drop my car off, so wait times has never been an issue. I have experienced some issues with having parts getting delayed and making me leave my car their longer than expected, but I do not rely on my car as much as most people do. I have mostly dealt with Vincent and he has always been top notch. This location is not as good as the one by my parent's house, but it is far from bad and I will continue to bring my car here. read more

They "checked" the brake lights and fluid and determined "it must be something electrical" for why the light came on. Most other reviewers are dead on. If you come here for anything small or large, be prepared to wait. Even with my appointment I am still here after an hour and a half and my car hasn't even made it inside yet. Came in for a flat repair, because I vaguely remember when I bought my tires at a different firestone shop that they said that I could bring them in for a free flat repair. Perhaps the other shop have me poor information because they gave me an estimate of $41. And quoted me a wait time of 1.5 hours. Once I explained I had an appointment the manager told me if be the next one in and it would be 30-45 mins. Still see my car sitting outside. For small stuff definitely go elsewhere. Discount tire will do flat repairs for you for free if I'm not mistaken, and they usually had me out in 30mins without an appointment. Only redeeming quality was that they knocked $20 off, but not as a service gesture, instead they just offered to not replace a part in the tpms system they usually do. read more

Needed an oil change and brake inspection. In fairness, I purchased 4 tires from them recently too. Got my vehicle in right away.. 10ish on a Tuesday as a walk-in. Janae gave me excellent customer service, and threw in some extra we appreciate your loyalty discounts too that I didn't ask for. Didn't like the amount of upsell pressure I was getting from the service tech.. Wanted me to get a belt replaced and yada yada that I asked him if I need it right now, "we'll no, not yet" ... Then I will wait till I need it thank you very much. I suggest offering free wifi for your customers so they can get work done while they're held captive waiting for their cars to be done. After standing on one leg, and leaning against the window trying not to breathe, I found an open wifi to connect to, then was dropped because it was a weak signal. Jimeny cricket! If I could give this a BIG FAT ZERO REVIEW I WOULD!!!So I had a nail in my tire and had a slow leak, I came to this location and to my dismay the guy said the tire is unrepairable due to the location of the nail and I would need a whole new tire, total cost $400.. WHAT?!. Now I do have low profile sporty tires that are rather pricey and although I don't need the exact same tire I love this brand and Little bit of OCD I want matching tires hehe,but either way he was pushing for a new tire! SMH! I also saw where the nail was and knew this was a play to con me into a new tire (I am a female so don't know if this has anything to do with it)so I told him to put it back on and quickly left! Next day I went to discount tire in La Mesa they said the tire was repairable had my tire quickly fixed in less than 30minutes FOR FREE!!! And I was on my merry way! This place is crap. I took my car in to get my headlight replaced, brakes done, and an oil change. When I picked it up and took it home, I noticed my headlight was dangling. I waited till the morning to call and noticed it had rained over night and water was inside. When I called I was advised to bring it in days later, since they were busy. I brought it in and the whole day is sat out there, not being worked on. It sat there over night until I got a call the next morning that it was ready. Walked over and it still wasn't fixed. Found out no one even touched my car. Complained to the manager who asked me to bring it in 3 days later and he will fix it. He didn't. He claims they didn't even work on that light. BS. It took me raising my voice and getting all loud for him to fix it. It took 5 visits to fix a simple headlight. I also noticed that my breaks still squeal. I will never NEVER go back here. Everyone is liars and dishonest. These people need to be retrained because their bringing their company name down. These mechanics need to treat everyone with respect and don't think you can fool a woman! Just because I don't work on cars doesn't mean I don't know right from wrong. read more

I bring my vehicles here occasionally for lifetime alignments and sometimes an oil change. Staff is friendly and they do call right when my vehicle is done unlike the Fashion Valley location which is kind if annoying to call and check on your vehicle late in the day to be told it's already done. Be careful about upsells... they tried to sell me ball joints but could not give me measurements which are required by California State and BAR. I have to assume this is part of trying to make money off my vehicle with free alignments. read more

Not only do they come up with a long list of things wrong with my car that I NEED TO FIX RIGHT NOW, they also can't do their work properly. Due to their incompetence, one of my brake drums broke while my boyfriend and I were driving up to San Francisco as we were crossing the Grapevine. While the repairs were cheap (as far as car repairs go), it shouldn't have been needed. The auto mechanic who helped us out said it cracked because the caliper hadn't been fastened properly. I am never taking my car here for any work ever again and I suggest you do the same. read more

I took my vehicle to get serviced here back in October before going on a road trip. while on my road trip I noticed my car start smoking and turns out the technician at Firestone did not close the oil cap properly leading oil to spew all over my engine. Luckily, nothing was damaged and I was able to continue my road trip. Chris (the manager) was professional and accommodating and offered a free oil change for their mistake. So, I come back and get my car serviced here again and once again, they did ANOTHER poor job, oil all around the filter and the cap not fully sealed again, which could have potentially lead to the same issue as before. Other than the professionalism of The manager, their quality of service and attention to detail is poor. I will not be coming back here again, I do not recommend this place, unless you are looking for sloppy care. read more

I brought in my 2006 Subaru Outback for a check engine light(CEL), but experienced no performance issues with my vehicle. The CEL had been off and on intermittently for about 3 weeks. The Subaru dealership wanted $2,500 for a complete replacement of an engine part. Don't get me started, but I was extremely skeptical. Matthew Lowe at Firestone ran the diagnostics and informed me that he did not believe that I needed such an overhaul, but he could not tell me the exact problem with the CEL. He had some ideas, but could not pinpoint it without more diagnostics that his shop did not have. I did some research on the issue and he took the time to explain his reasoning without condescending to a non-mechanic. He referred me to an engine shop that could tackle the issue. Ultimately, he could not tell me what was wrong(but offered suggestions), and therefore could not fix the problem. In the end, he took care of the diagnostic fee. Most importantly, he was honest and took the time to speak with me...a rare trait in the automotive profession. I believe in not only exposing scam artist businesses on Yelp, but also acknowledging exceptional service. Because of this, I'll be back and I'll also let others know of my experience. I've been a customer for over a year. I come here for oil change and routine car maintenance. Great customer service and flexibility. Last week, Craig checked me in for an oil change using Synthetic oil, he is always courteous, very helpful and friendly. Less than an hour later, I was called by Luigi that my car was being worked on and that they'd checked couple things as well and noticed that I needed a new air filter and wiper blades. I told him to go ahead..Half hour later my car was finished! Luigi has always been very professional, honest and trustworthy. Their prices are very reasonable and I totally trust them with my car. MECHANICS YOU CAN TRUST! Went to Discount and Evans and was advised all 4 Michelins needed to be replaced. WHAAAT? Came to my local Firestone and watched nervously as they measured the inner and outer tread of each tire. The manager laughed as he told me only one was questionable. I asked him if they could order a matching tire as they primarily offer Bridgestone. He assured me they could (and politely showed me a comparable Bridgestone with zero pressure to switch brands). I challenged him by dialing up Costco for a better price. He promptly matched it...while still smiling. Rolled in to begin tire replacement and alignment (so much more convenient to get it all taken care of in one stop). Let the mechanic know I was pressed for time and needed to pick a friend up from the airport. He assured me I'd be left with time to grab breakfast and offered me some fresh coffee while I waited. Through the lobby window I can see all my fluids being measured and topped off. Extra nice as we're prepping for a road trip! I was very satisfied with this Firestone's customer service and the quality of the work they performed (Thank you Chris and Dave!). In the past, they replaced an alternator and brakes with equally superb service and skill. To the nasty fellow who has never actually serviced his vehicle at Firestone, but takes the time to leave a one star review every year, please find a new hobby. I tried to get my brakes checked out at this place. I dropped my truck off at around 11am. An hour before close, they called me saying they couldn't start my truck, so they couldn't get it into the shop to look at it. When I dropped it off, you promised to have it done the same day, but didn't mention to me it would take 6 hours for you to begin? So I went there to show them that it starts just fine (if you know how to start a diesel, which apparently they do not), but waited over an hour for the front desk guy to pay attention to me. He spent AN ENITRE HOUR trying to sell every last rebate to some poor guy. Great for them they talked this sucker into hundreds of dollars of stuff he didn't need - not great for the line of 5 people who came in after me. The whole time we're just looking at each other wondering if he's ever going to stop and let the poor guy go. By the time I could get in a word edgewise, I just demanded my keys back and left. They repaired my tire but the experience could have been a lot better. AAA referred me to Firestone when I needed a tire repair on a Sunday, when all of the local shops I know of, plus Big O and Discount Tire, were closed. I called in and was told that I didn't need an appointment and they would work me in, but when I got there, the man checking people in said that without an appointment, I would be there until closing, about 4 hours later. Happily I was able to get the manager?'s attention and he said they could get it done in an hour or an hour-and-a-half, which was reasonable as busy as they were, and they did. The same intake person then asked another employee to check me in, a young man who was already doing two different things and was on lunch break, and that employee was very competent and courteous. As the only customer waiting in the office for most of that time, I asked the first intake person if I could turn off the (loud) TV but was told "We always leave that on," and there was no seating outside, so it was not a comfortable wait. I heard the same intake person calling people to tell them that their cars were ready, and he did a whole lot of upselling of recommended services (replacing a "three-year" battery bought in 2018, etc.), which made me glad that all I was in for was a tire repair. read more

Absolutely useless reservation system. I submitted a request for an appointment for the 1500 time slot. I received an email saying my appointment was confirmed and I should be good to go in! Sounds awesome, right? Nope. I came in about 15 minutes early and they said they couldn't accommodate the services I needed due to time constraints. You would have figured they would call me instead of me wasting my time driving out here. They said my phone number was entered incorrectly but the thing is that I use the app for the ease of use of making appointments and my phone number is correct! I've brought my other vehicle here several times. I'll probably come back here only because I have a lifetime alignment package with them on both of my vehicles but I won't be giving them anymore money for any other services moving forward. read more
