Unfortunately this location will no longer have my business. Have been coming here for years with great service, but that is no longer the case. Long waits, zero communication. Alex clearly showed his customers time is not important to him. After waiting 4 hours (when he said it would take 2) I came in to pick up my car. Only to find they hadn't even started. He told me the tires he sold me weren't in stock due to false inventory. I get that, but it should've merited a phone call instead of wasting half my day. Now today I tried calling two separate times to get an update on tires they said should be in 3 days ago and both times no one answered the phone. This is very convenient as it is not hard to find one that is available asap when we need a quick repair. They keep all the records for the work on our vehicles so that's great for tracking over the years. The cost is competitive and the work is dependable. We always do the warranty. The reason I've rated this location so low is that although they did a good job for me six years ago, when I tried recently to talk to them about new tires for my car, I got shut down hard by whoever answered the phone. He told me that the price online was the final price. He also said that I couldn't buy tires online and have them sent to the shop for installation. Then he said that no one in the shop was going to tell me anything different. It was clear that he had better things to do than to sell four $200 tires to a repeat customer who brings in multiple cars. So I called the Discount Tire on Mission Gorge, where the manager, Mike, took all of five minutes to close my sale. He said I could have my own tires installed there, but then asked what I wanted to buy. He found my tires in Discount Tire's inventory at a decent mark-down from the online price, and had them in the shop the next day for installation. I made an appointment, and was driving home twenty minutes earlier than expected. Mike did all of this without being a dick about it, which shouldn't be a selling point, but as time goes on, I'm more often than not surprised at being treated like my business is worth having. I have been coming to this location for decades! I love discount tire. I love how my purchase is on my account no matter what location I go to and I love that I never feel pressured when I'm in the store. I feel like all of the associates working are very knowledgeable and have a vested interest in Customer Service. Another thing I think is really fantastic is that you get service all year round to check the air pressure on your tires and have them rotated and balanced. If you have a nail in your tire that can be filled, they will do that for free. If you need windshield wipers, they'll placed them at a super reasonable price. I highly recommend making an appointment, it really will shave down how long you have to wait. Aside from the tires, I get all my car services done at my dealership. The dealer is always trying to convince me to purchase tires from them. They can match the price, but they do not come close to matching the service. read more

Had a slow leak in my tire due to a nail lodged in it. Reg the service tech was great and they repaired the tire. After leaving the store, I got on the freeway and noticed when I got to 60mph, the front end started to shake. Since the store was closed, I returned the next day and Reg got me in and out during a very busy time. Highly recommend this place if you have any tire issues or need new ones. I had my car towed to this Discount Tire for what should have been a simple repair, removing a nail from my tire. Instead, they quoted me an outrageous $1,700 for a basic job. When I tried to call and clarify, I was left on hold for 15+ minutes at a time, repeatedly ignored. After deciding I would have the car towed elsewhere, I informed them of my decision. Suddenly, they offered to "go lower" than the other shop's price, which only confirmed how dishonest their original quote was. Yet again, I was left waiting another 20 minutes on hold with no answer. When the tow truck arrived, the employees outright refused to assist in loading my $130,000 Porsche onto the flatbed. One employee was overheard telling others "don't help him." This level of unprofessionalism is appalling. Even worse, this wasn't my first bad experience here. On a prior visit, also for a nail in the same tire (which makes me wonder whether it was even the same issue or something more suspicious), I received THREE separate phone calls from one of their employees claiming he had "dropped his phone" inside my car. He even claimed to have "pinged it" at my downtown office. No phone was ever found. To me, it felt like an attempt to track my ca, and it was beyond disturbing. For the record, I took my car to a different shop immediately afterward and got two tires replaced for only $1,200. Not only was the service professional and efficient, but the price difference proves this Discount Tire location was trying to rip me off. This business is shady, untrustworthy, and clearly has fraudulent practices. Between outrageous markups, refusal to help, and extremely questionable behavior by employees, I would strongly warn anyone: do not take your vehicle here. read more

Jeremy is the assistant manager at this location and was so helpful!! I was hesitant to purchase all four tires seeing that Black Friday was around the corner and they offer sales. But he was able to guarantee that if the tires go on sale to come back and he'd give me the difference. Like whatttt!!!!! So grateful for his help! Because saving a couple bucks now a days matters. All employees seemed to be very helpful and able to answer all of the questions. It was busy as soon as they opened so that tells you a lot. It was about a 1.5-2 hour wait without an appt which is understandable. They do offer AAA discount and military I think it was 5%. They have a financing options as well. Bought 4 continental tires for about 900 bucks out the door. Going to keep an eye out for Black Friday sales and return. We have had bad luck with tires (nails, namely) the last year and a half, ranging from reparable things (nail in the middle of the tire) to non-reparable things (nail in the side wall), but Discount Tire has always come through. I appreciate the Discount Tire team's efficiency, friendliness, and professionalism every time I've had to come in. Appointments are obviously preferable, because appointments are prioritized. Depending your schedule, you can drop off the car or wait for it to get done. Discount Tire also has a neat tracking system where they text you and you can check online to see what stage your tire repair is, and an estimate of when the work will be done. We will definitely continue to patronize Discount Tire, particularly this store. But... hopefully not any time soon, no offense ;) read more

Booked an appointment to get my tires rotated here this past weekend (don't book appointments, they don't prioritize appointments over walk ins so why bother being tied to a specific time), which turned out to be a massive mistake. As I dropped my truck off I mentioned to the representative that my truck needs tires inflated to 55 psi in the front, and 45 psi in the rear. And to please not mess it up - like the other discount tire location did last time. Got a text 1.5 hrs later that my truck was ready for pickup, so I headed back with my 5 months old baby to get it. As I start my truck up I see the dash lighting up with "air suspension temporarily disabled". My immediate thought was that they probably disable it while they have the truck up on the jack so I headed back into the store and asked if they could remove the temporary disabling. They looked at me like I spoke a different language, and acted like they'd never heard of such a thing. At this point it was pouring down rain. The representative came out to the truck with me and my baby to try and figure it out, he pressed some buttons and now some more lights were flashing. He went back into the store to get someone else. At this point my driver side seat is drenched from the rain and my baby is getting anxious. Two other guys come out with no idea what to do. I'm pissed. I get my phone out and start googling only to find out the simple solution, and unlocked my air suspension myself. With my now screaming baby in the backseat I left in a hurry. Fast forward two days and I notice my tire air pressure is off... Guess what- they never adjusted the air pressure like I asked them to do. I head over before work to get the air pressure adjusted quickly (would hate to drive on the freeway with the wrong air pressure in the rain with a truck that already doesn't have great grip in rain). Back at discount tire there are three dudes inside the store hanging out, and one guy outside helping another unhappy customer with their tire pressure. I wait for 15 minutes in my truck in the "air check" spot - no one helps. I get out to see if I can use the air pressure machine myself - get told I can't. At this point I leave. And I'm never coming back. And I'm never buying anything from them ever again. Exceptionally poor service and intense incompetence. read more

Last night my wife told me here tire lost all it's air right as she pulled into the driveway. Today is her birthday so not great timing. I ran her tire over to Discount Tire right as they opened after jacking up the car. I was a walk-in but the wait was short. They were friendly and attentive and told me they would text me once it was ready. Anthony and Nick (or was it Rick?) were friendly and helpful. They ended up plugging the tire for free and the wife could get to her afternoon appointment with no issue. I'll be bringing it back soon to rotate the tires and possibly to swap out her way too old donut or replace it with a full size tire. Called first thing in the morning since I had a flat and I got all my tires here. They said they'll fix it and I asked if I needed an appointment which he responded, "no just walk in." I've now been here 1.5 hrs and they haven't even took it to the fixing bay. Employee said it would take one hr. Time of completion says 15min ago. Employee thought my car was already finished and now says there's still cars in front of mine when I've seen multiple cars come after me and get treated. Horrible communication. I made an appointment for Sat 3/1 to get new tires for my E150 van. When I arrived at the appointment time I was told that they only had three of the tires that I needed. I was told that the other tire would be shipped from another store and be there that same day. I decided to reschedule a new appointment for Monday morning. I received numerous texts reminding me of my appointment. When I went in 1st thing Monday morning I was again told they only had three of the tires. The forth tire never arrived. They texted me reminders of my appointment but not that the tire was not in. Two trips, several wasted hours and the time and energy spent go there and back and nothing... What BS! I've taken every single one of my cars here and it is well worth every penny, and frankly, the prices are great to start with. Always friendly and helpful staff. They don't pressure you to get anything you don't need, and make great product recommendations based on your needs. I highly recommend buying the extra warranty per tire--it's come in handy multiple times when I've gotten a flat and saved me hundred of dollars. Also, they rotate your tires for free! Wait times are pretty standard, but I recommend making an appointment for convenience. The waiting room is pretty bare bones and there's no coffee shops or restaurants terribly close, so depending on what you're getting done, maybe make plans for a ride. I will say that they typically get my car out faster than they quote. TLDR; They give you every opportunity to help you protect yourself and your vehicle--take them up on it. read more

I've come here before and received 10/10 service. The staff has always been really great to work with and I've never had a problem. This last time left me feeling a little miffed... I just got a new car and came for new tires. I did not realize I had wheel locks and unfortunately was not able to find the key due to the car being used and assuming previous owner kept it. They told me they had to break the wheel locks which was fine - I just assumed they would replace with a simple lug nut instead. I got home and realized I'm missing a lug nut on all 4 tires. I understand they did not have the car specific brand lug nut to match my wheels but they did not communicate at all that I'd be missing one/would not be replacing/did not have a lug nut and that I need to get new ones ASAP. I was leaving for a weekend trip which required a lot of driving and did not feel comfortable with the missing lug nuts so I had to run around and figure it out myself. I just feel like there was a very big lapse in a safety concern and communication was not there at all. read more

HARD WORKERS - Otherwise, the employees seem to work very hard and have good team rapport, and I am glad to see these making the best of a physically demanding job. They seem to do very good work. QUESTIONABLE MANAGEMENT - But management should take a closer look at accepting appointments they cannot honor... quite disrespectful to customers. Niceness goes a long way! Made an appointment for 2 Yokohama tires on Ford Explorer. Waited just a few mins after arrival and check in before my car was taken for service. They immediately called me and informed me due to a mix up they only had 1 tire and I would need to come back for second tire or just return for both and the rotation. Opted to have 1 replaced that wore uneven due to an alignment issue. They quickly made the swap and I was on my way. Get a call about an hour later stating they got the second tire and I was welcome to come right back instead of waiting for the next day appointment. I rushed back and was out within a few minutes. I'm not deducting any stars for the mix up as mistakes happen, and everyone I interacted with was so kind and professional. Special shout out to Willie who checked me in, Angel who changed my tires, and Quin who double checked my air pressure and made sure my car was safe. I called in and made an appointment for an alignment with a very nice + helpful guy on the phone. Went in, Checked in with the very nice, who I assume is the manager. ??? He said it would be about an hour + a half......... A long time, but, I was in no rush, + ok with it. It was a Very Hot day + they were Extremely busy, so, I took/take that into account. No big deal. They had me in + out in less than an hour. From the phone call, to check in, to questions to the technician, + to check out/payment, they were, ALL, Very nice, Very Professional, + Very Helpful. I have mixed feelings about this location. I should mention that the Yelp listing is currently incorrect and this is located in La Mesa. Anyway, I got out of work one Friday and had a flat tire. So I drove to Discount Tire on my little spare. It was my first time at this particular Discount Tire. First, I will say that the guys working there are very kind. They are polite and welcoming. While I waited, one even brought me a free chocolate bar. Also, I forgot my work bag there, and they kept is safely for me overnight. Anyway, they let me know that my flat was actually caused by the wheel this time, as the corrosion was causing my flat tire. Anyway, they gave me the name of a place to fix my wheel and sent me on my way. I asked why they didn't fix the tire so I didn't have to come back, but they told me they would fix it after the wheel was fixed. I had to wait until the wheel shop was open the following Monday. That morning, once my wheel was fixed, I dropped my car off for the tire to be fixed. I took a ride share to work and back to be sure that it was fixed by the evening. When my car was ready, I learned that they didn't have to do anything to the tire. I was a bit upset as I didn't need to take all the time and pay for the ride shares to and from work. I could have simply had the wheel store put my tire and wheel back on. All in all, it is a nice group of people there, but I do feel that my time was wasted and I'm not sure why they couldn't have been more clear on Friday that I did not need their services any longer. read more
