I always go here mainly because of the convenient location. If it weren't for that i'm not sure I would bring my car here so much. The price is fairly reasonable and they do a courtesy check on your vehicle. They also price match their tires. They also have coupons, so make sure you look for some before bringing your car in. I've always had great service except for one occasion. It was so bad that I never wanted to go back there again...but again it's convenient location made me go back. Just brought my van in for an oil change and the guys there called to tell me that my safety had expired! Thank goodness they were able to fit in (before closing) added services: changing my two front tires and front right light bulb. They had to call the Kailua store and have the tires transported, but they said it was no problem. When I had called in the appointment, the employee told me that I could get a $10 off coupon off of the website....that was great! Also, they waived the $33 Noise Check when they couldn't duplicate my noise issue. The service was fast & friendly. I did go in at about 2:00pm on a Monday, so maybe that was why there weren't too many people waiting. I'll definitely go there again ; ). read more

There were 2 open lifts and 4-5 people working when I got there so I didn't bother to ask how long it would take. I had to get new tires for my mothers car and the guys were nice enough to let me leave the car all day so they could fit it in to their busy schedule. I highly recommend making an appointment if you aren't as flexible, they can get slammed. Make sure to always check if there are any deals that can save you money and have all your information ready when making the appointment to guarantee the smoothest experience possible. "I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business" I had a really good laugh at this one after waiting for my car for 6 hours when I was told it would be done in 3-4. Good points: the staff up front were very friendly and apologetic. Especially the woman who had to inform me how much longer it would be for my car. She was very apologetic and was the only reason I didn't cry or lose my mind. The estimate was the same when I checked out and their were no "add ons" pushed on me. The bad: The people working in the back, not so much. Every time I peeked back there they seemed to be in no rush at all. I'm no mechanic and I appreciate their hard work (especially when I was told someone called out and they would be backed up all day) but put some lead on it people! I think the communication was off between the two parties. I've gone here 2-3 times now and I will never go back. Every time they quote you a time it is at least double. I wouldn't have sat around had I known. I'm glad they are so busy but time is precious and I would have really appreciated being given a realistic time table so that I wouldn't have wasted my day. read more

I go to Firestone all the time, but I sadly admit it is because I don't know where else to go. I just spend almost $600 on something I didn't even take it in for. They couldn't diagnose the original problem and with how much I spent I am still hear problems with my car. I sadly feel like $600 wasn't worth it, I felt like I spend that money on nothing. On 01/05/17 made an appointment for a safety check to be done next week. I then put on my vehicles new registration emblem. I inadvertently placed the registration on top of the spare tire cover of my RAV4 and it fell into the cover. I had to remove the cover in order to retrieve the registration paper. That being done, I couldn't replace the cover securely over the spare tire. I called Firestone and Delmar said to bring my RAV in and they would replace it for me. I live about a 1 1/2 miles from this location so I was there within 5 minutes. Delmar had one of the technicians replace it. This was in about 1 minute. The WORST place to get alignment or anything done is the Kaneohe branch ( the kalihi branch is great). I took my truck there after doing a front end change out after the 1st my truck was pulling to right. After the 2nd still was pulling to right and right side was making a knocking noise and they were giving me excuses about why they can't align my truck (BUNCH OF IDIOT BROKECHANICS). I checked their work and found my upper control arm totally loose so I had to torque down the arm again. I had to wait 2 weeks for a Saturday appt at the Kalihi branch because there was no way in hell I would take my truck back to the IDIOTS at KANEOHE branch. The kalihi branch did my truck in 2 hrs and with no excuses. They told me my truck was way out of alignment and showed me the chart and explained it to me. My truck is now driving awesome. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO KANEOHE BRANCH (BUNCH OF IDIOTS). 0 star for KANEOHE and 5 star for KALIHI. read more

Not to mention after the truck was done being serviced the guy rang up a customer right before us and took out the trash right after that making us wait while he took his sweet time to ring us up. WOW! Needed a license plate bulbs to pass safty inspection... They said they had the bulb in stock but could only get me the bulb if they charged me labor (close to $20 per bulb) for a bulb that takes less than 30 sec to change out!!!!!!!! . I feel as if the new safety check system in Hawaii has made it more difficult on mechanics to do safety inspections where they are always booked. I have been going to this Firestone store for over 25 years. Its a great place to buy tires from and although you can get less expensive tires from a big box wholesaler/retail store, if you live on the windward side, you get a competitive price with quick efficient service. However, I have not been so lucky with mechanical services that I need. If you take your vehicle in for one thing, you most likely will have 5-6 more problems that will have to be addressed after they touch your car. I understand that a car's mechanical 'systems' are interconnected/interrelated to make the vehicle run, but after a a tensioner belt repair and pulleys changed, I pick up the car and 20 minutes after driving off, the car has a loud screeching sound while going up the freeway, smoke billowing, and starts stalling with a strong smell of burnt rubber filling the car interior before it comes to a complete stall on the side of the road. After taking the car back the same day, I am told the next morning that the air condition compressor needs replacing now, more belts and pulleys, and an explanation that it was just a matter of 'what went first' as what was on the verge of breaking and now needing repair. Suffice to say, my recent visits for mechanical issues have been very disappointing. Continue to buy your tires from Firestone, but find a more reliable shop to work on your mechanical issues/concerns. read more

Had a flat tire last week and went to Firestone in Kaneohe to get a new one... Ended up getting two new tires because one was wore down due to bad ball joints and tie rods. They gave me an estimate for almost $1100 to fix the ball joints (which I didn't have) so I asked a friend if he knew a mechanic who could do the repairs. I went to the mechanic on Thursday. who did the work for $300 less and because I have lifetime alignment with Firestone, I went back there the next morning (Friday) to get the alignment done and was told I couldn't get in until next Tuesday (which is today 10/28/14). When I came in for my 7am appointment, I was told that 3 mechanics had called in sick and could I come in another time. I explained to the guy behind the counter that I had been waiting for 5 days and because the balls joints were changed, I needed to get the alignment done as soon as possible. I also had an appointment to get a safety inspection. The guy waiting on me was curt and bordering on rude because I had gotten the ball joints done elsewhere. He was grilling me where I got them done and asked the mechanics name, like it was some crime to go elsewhere. He then told me there were two bulbs out and asked in a snide voice - did I want to go somewhere else to have them replaced. I told him I didn't know about the bulbs and to go ahead and change them. He told me it would probably take longer than three hours and in a curt tone asked if there was anything else he could do. By this time I was feeling like a big imposition so I said "you could try being a little nicer" to which he started raising his voice. Then I said "I don't need to take shit because I did the ball joint someplace else" and he started yelling and throwing my keys and paperwork at me and telling me to take the car elsewhere. I told him I couldn't because it had already been 5 days and my tires were going to be ruined. If I had extra money, I would have left right away, but I was kind of stuck at that point. He stomped out to the garage and then came back and said they would stop work on everyone else's car and I would be out in a half hour because he wanted me out of there. All this was said with raised yelling voice. At one point I looked him in the eye and said "Please stop yelling at me" to which he replied in a yell "I am not yelling at you"... he was totally out of control and it was a little scary. After he went back to the garage, I looked up the corporate office number and called them to relay what had happened. The guy at corporate apologized and said he would find me another store to take it to after I explained what happened, but by this time the car was already in the bay. Well guess what, the tires are ruined anyway (or at least he told me they wouldn't pass safety inspection unless I bought 2 new tires for the front... Now I have to pay for new tires and have to deal with rude, yelling sales people. On the way into work after this horrible ordeal to which I was in tears the entire time I was in their store, I could feel vibrations in the steering wheel. I am pretty sure they didn't do a good job on the alignment and now I have the added expense of taking the car in to some one else to have it checked. Needless to say, I will never step foot in this establishment again. It is not my fault their staff called in sick, and it was probably because they dont want to work with this person - and no one should ever be treated like this in a place of business. read more

When we started going here we used to get good service. Recently, we have been treated badly and even get attitude from some of the counter staff. This weekend we were given the wrong information and by one team member and then treated poorly by another team member. All staff should be giving customers the same correct information in a respectful way. They don't seem to care that they have lost one customer in our family as they seem to feel they are the only game in town. I suggest to firestone they take a serious look at their staff and make some drastic changes. After this recent experience and reading so many bad reviews, we will be looking for alternatives even if we need to drive further. read more

Took my vehicle to the Kailua Firestone to replace a $13 stop lite switch I could not reach. It was a rush on a Saturday and they knew it but they didn't tell me before coming in that they were booked up for the day and would have to work it in, they promised it by the end of the day, which they did...but... They would not allow me to bring in the dealer's OEM replacement part. Charged me $75 to confirm what I told them was the problem, then $75 to replace the part, mounted next to the brake pedal. They also charged $25 for the switch, which costs $8.59 retail from AutoZone which supplied it to the Firestone shop for a lower wholesale price. The manager said I was misquoted originally for the diagnosis work, the service adviser had quoted $99, the manager said it should have been $75. Then service adviser, trying to explain why they had to charge to confirm the earlier diagnosis of a faulty stop lite switch said the electrical diagnosis charge should have been $150, supposedly the manager gave me a 50% discount. Clearly the adviser and manager don't compare notes. Plus the cover under the dash that shields the switch and other components wasn't put back properly, it is hanging loose on the floorboard side. They got a $194 charge out of this job and won't get another one as I feel they used their standard policies to protect themselves at my expense and over charged me for the parts and labor. The only good that came from it was the job was completed and my wife will have something to drive. This evening I looked up the estimated cost to replace the switch; " Your Mechanic" lists shop pricing from $91 to $164 with an average rate of $89. I still think I got hosed..charge should have been $8.50 for the part and $75 for labor, plus tax. read more

Be very suspicious of these guys. I went for a safety inspection and they wouldn't pass my vehicle because things were unsafe and they said would cost $400 to fix. Rather than having Firestone fix the unsafe conditions, I took my vehicle to another mechanic and was told nothing was wrong with my vehicle. I fixed whatever Firestone said was unsafe anyway so I could get my safety check. When I went back to Firestone for the follow-up safety check, they didn't even check the things they said was unsafe and just issued my safety inpsection sticker. They also broke a lug nut on another customer's vehicle when I was there and they tried to blame the "unusual" lug nut for the reason why it broke. They wouldn't replace the lug nut they broke and tried to get the customer to pay for a new one. Only after a heated argument did they agree to replace the lug nut. Funny how they had such an "unusual" lug nut in stock. read more

I have been in the customer service field for 4 decades and I find the service counter staff, fair, cordial, helpful, professional, on the ball, with no-nonsense dialogue; direct and honest. I came here to get all four tires replaced. When I got my car back, I noticed there was a huge and deep scratch on my passenger door. I went back in the office to see the worker that returned my keys to me. I told him what happened and he was He came with me outside and took pictures of the damages. He was very polite and helpful and explained that these type of things always happen and that they will be contacting me in the next week or so. After a week passed I got no call from Firestone. So I called back to see the status on my situation. I explained to the representative on the phone what happened. After a few minutes on hold he came back on the phone and told me, "The mechanic that worked on your car didn't scratch your car. How can I help you." This went back and forth, in the end the representative on the phone just said Firestone is not responsible for the damage on my car. Because I paid the transaction through Firestone's Credit Card, I ended up contacting their Credit Card Company telling them my situation on what happened at this Firestone Location in Kaneohe. I told them I will not be paying for this transaction until this issue would be resolved. The Credit Card Company ended up asking for a quote for the damage and ended up reimbursing me for the amount. After my tires were changed I noticed there was a clicking and rattling noise coming from underneath my car while driving at slow speeds, also when slowing down or coming to stops. I didn't acknowledge or realize it came from the tires. This went on for about a year so I ended up taking it to the car dealership. The car dealership ended up finding what the problem was. They asked me who changed my tires last. The car dealership explained that there's type of tool that is used to put the tire on the rim. The Tip of that tool ended up breaking off and was stuck in between the tire and rim. The sound of clicking and rattling noise what the broken tool bouncing off rim. The dealership said I should contact the Manager from Firestone so this issue could be resolved. Firestone ended up paying the dealership for the work that was done to fix their problem to my car. I have never been back and will never go back to the Firestone in Kaneohe. read more

I recently took my truck in just for an oil change and tire rotation. With their great service, they recommended an alignment due to uneven tire wear. I opted for the lifetime alignment service, a great option that other shops don't offer. I'm glad I got it done, because it really makes a difference while driving. I had an appt for safety check at 8. At 8:35, they call to tell me I need to replace a bulb for my license plate. Couple days ago my husband broght his truck there safety check and was told the same thing. Really? Is that light bulb thing for real or coincidence. Started to make me wonder. I never knew that would fail an inspection. So I wait for 20 min for them to change the bulb, car still not done. I end up going outside because I could no longer handle the smell from the rubber and what do I see? My car sitting there, no one working on it or anything. I wait another 5 min and decide to go back inside and ask if it was done cause it was just sitting there. Of course, the car was done. Who knows how long it's been sitting there. The guy that was taking care of the cars outside was eating. What you couldn't send the paper work inside so you can get your customers going before you started eating. To to top it off, they told me my tire treads were low and it would pass but I would have to change them soon and asked if I wanted to take care of that today. Of ciursr I said no. When I got home, looked at my tires and they arent even close to being low. Just trying to get me to spend money over there. Yea, im a female but im not stupid. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! I repeat, DO NOT COME HERE!! I'd give negative stars if I could. This is the absolute WORST facility I have ever been to in my life. I wouldn't even consider it a business, more like a joke. Scheduled an appointment for a break check, was told it would take about an hour and a half. When I got there I waited in line as they had a new employee in the front who was training and seemed to be her first day as she couldn't do anything without the assistance of two other employees. After I dropped my car off I got a call saying they wouldn't be able to get to it until next week!! Spoke to a couple of different people and they all were providing me with different information. They also gave me a quote that was incorrect. They literally have not a clue what they are doing and this "business" isn't a business at all. When I went to pick up my car, there weren't any cars being serviced and all the employees were laughing and eating ice cream. Need I remind you that it was about 1:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday and they were hours from closing. I mean I know Hawaiians have a bad rap for being lazy but COME ON. I then took my car to the Firestone in Kailua and man what a difference! The BEST customer service and they were able to get to my car and replace the breaks super fast! The quote they provided was way less than the original one from Kaneohe. I believe they were trying to intentionally rip me off. I don't think anyone at the Kaneohe location has an intellect above 2nd grade. It's really sad how dumb these people are. I was also told that a regional manager would be contacting me but of course that never happened. Kaneohe Firestone is the worst and I highly advise everyone considering going there to go to the one in Kailua instead, you won't be sorry! read more

Took my car in for an oil change, new tires, and an alignment. The manager got really short with me when he found out I was pricing around for tires. Very inappropriate! I was promised to get my car back in 6 hours. It actually took the entire day to finish. On top of that, the alignment was still off and my car pulled to the right even more than before. I made an appointment to recheck my alignment. Arrived on time but was told that I needed to wait one hour till they could even look at my car. It has been over 3 hours since I arrived and there hasn't even been a courtesy apology for the wait. I will never come back! read more

Not impressed. Went in with an appointment for a safety inspection. Took TWO hours. And I failed. One of the things was my windshield wiper squirters. They said if I went back in within 30 days of my first appointment, they would recheck my safety free. But of course, once I fixed everything, I can't get an appointment until after the 30 days is over. Went to RNS auto on Kalanianaole highway and they were doing safety inspections in under 10 minutes. Also, at Firestone they said it would be $125 to fix my windshield wiper squirters. Then when I called to make an appointment, they said it would be $125 just to LOOK at my car and tell me what's wrong. Ridiculous. At RNS they looked at my car for free and fixed the squirters for $70. Oh, on top of all that. They gave me completely false information. They told me one of the reasons I failed was because the car was not in my name. But that's completely wrong. You don't need it in your name to pass safety. Definitely not going back. Super overpriced and it seems like they just want to keep you coming back and keep you spending money. read more

Took truck in for safety inspection at Firestone, Kaneohe, Hi at 7am this morning. After 1 hour of waiting, was told safety check is complete but they can't finalize it bc the "machine" is down. What machine? Told me not their fault, it's the state. What the heck are they talking about? It is so easy to pass blame on some other office and I start to question whether it is true. Have a feeling the person on staff was late to work and no one else to authorize the inspection. That shop is notorious for finding fault in almost every customer and adds extra charges for menial stuff to make an extra buck! Continuing my story.. Was told they would call me when to return..waited half a day with no update. Had hope I would have ample time to go to work but their lack of customer service and consideration had me waiting for that call. Stopped back in to the shop and questioned status.."ready" and ...coincidentally as I'm talking to the mechanic my cellphone is ringing from their shop...probably saw me coming and realized "oops, forgot to call the customer". Went back to shop with truck, waiting in the seating area and called to pay the bill. Told the personnel I wasn't paying the bill bc of the customer inconvenience..he went off, became obnoxious and started yelling in front of other customers, threatening to call his manager. Manager (think it was Delmar) came and asked what was the problem, told him "you know what happened this morning and I'm not paying this bill", he said "ok, you don't have to pay for it", takes the bill and appears he threw it in the trash...without asking how to resolve or compromise on the situation. This indicates the manager lacks management skills in customer service and needs to do a better job at counseling his employees. I will not patronize Firestone again, taking my business elsewhere! read more

BEWARE! I took my car here today for a safety inspection and oil change. When I got home, I discovered that my brakes were making a loud squeaking sound and that my air conditioning was making a loud flapping sound. My brakes and AC were completely silent before I brought them in. So, this auto shop purposely damages your car, so that they can charge you to "fix" damages they create. read more

For some inexplicable reason I have gone to these guys for service several times and I always leave feeling like I just got screwed. Probably because there are not many alternatives in Kaneohe. Goodyear and Sears are even worse than Firestone. My latest experience will keep me away forever. Brought my car in for overheating and after paying an $88 diagnostic fee they told me I had blown heads and would just have to junk my car! Are you kidding me! Luckily I took it to Sven's Auto just a couple blocks away and found out that it was just a small issue that involved a radiator flush and a few minor hoses. $400 later my car that Firestone said to junk was running like a champ! Also DO NOT go here for state inspections. No matter how perfect your car they will ALWAYS find something wrong. They dinged me $200 to "clean" my "oxidized" headlamps and said I would fail inspection if I didn't pay for the service. Turns out they didn't even touch the head lamps. Still just as dirty as ever. Said it would cost $300 to replace each one. Did my homework and found out it only costs about $100 to REPLACE both covers. RIDICULOUS. Stay away from these guys! read more
