When I brought it back to Firestone, they attempted to quote me an additional $900 for a new power steering pump, which I suspected was inaccurate. I brought my vehicle and the Firestone invoice to TENN'S on Keolu Drive for a second opinion. They correctly diagnosed the issue as two leaking power steering hoses, which they promptly replaced. My steering is now perfectly normal with no leaks. Furthermore, TENN'S inspected my coolant system and realized Firestone had failed to refill the antifreeze after flushing it. TENN'S pressure-tested the system and correctly topped off all fluids. I am sharing my experience in this post to prevent others from being misled into paying for poor or unnecessary services.

They're usually pretty accommodating, but when I drove in for my a few weeks ago for my online appt, they told me that it would take about 3 hours before they could get to it. Since I couldn't wait that long, I scheduled another appt, for today (20 days later), at 2pm, and they said they could get to it right away and be done in an hour. The actual service here is okay (not great), but they're fairly proficient in expediting the service, once they get to it. One thing that shocked me, was how much the showroom degraded. It used to be a rather clean and convenient place to relax in the past (for a tire service shop). I can't believe they let the floors get this bad. They were covered with dirty scuff marks, and they removed the little coffee table, and the TV wasn't working. Just from a business standpoint, as a customer, when I see how dirty the sales showroom is, it makes me wonder how much care they put into their actual repair service. I'm glad I'm just here for a safety check.

When I got home, I noticed power steering fluid leaking onto my carport and saw the fluid level was at the absolute minimum. I went back to Firestone, and they told me they hadn't actually changed the fluid, but rather replaced a leaky hose. They then claimed the low fluid was due to a bad power steering pump and quoted me an additional $900 to replace it. It just didn't sound right, and I felt they were being dishonest. I took my car to Tenn's for a second opinion and showed them the Firestone invoice. Tenn's quickly found the real issue: two entirely different power steering hoses were leaking. They replaced them, and now my steering is perfect with zero leaks. On top of that, Tenn's inspected my coolant system and found both the radiator and reservoir levels were dangerously low because Firestone failed to properly refill the antifreeze after their flush. Tenn's pressure-tested the system and topped off the fluids for me. Mahalo to Tenn's--they are honest mechanics you can actually trust!

I went in for a safety inspection, but I was told they couldn't complete it because one of my tires was bald. They also recommended an oil change because my oil light was on, but I declined the service. Unfortunately, after they stopped working on my vehicle, they forgot to put the oil cap back on before returning my car. I had no idea anything was wrong until oil began spraying everywhere--covering my engine, the underside of my hood, the exterior of my car, and even my driveway. The damage required a full engine cleaning, replacement of the hood insulator, exterior cleaning, and hours of cleaning oil from my driveway. My car is my livelihood, so being without it also cost me income. When I called to report what had happened, the manager asked, "What do you want me to do about it?" and told me to come back the next day. When I returned, I was treated very rudely. The interaction made me feel so uncomfortable that I asked my husband if I should call the police because I felt intimidated. I had no choice but to stay because they needed to clean the oil off my engine. To make matters worse, getting reimbursed for the damage was an exhausting process. It took nearly two months to get my money back. I had to make countless phone calls, send multiple emails, provide photos and videos, and repeatedly follow up just to get a response. It even took them two weeks to reply to my very first email. Instead of taking responsibility and resolving the issue promptly, they made me fight every step of the way. Everyone makes mistakes, but what really disappointed me was how this situation was handled. A simple oversight turned into a costly and stressful ordeal, and instead of receiving empathy, accountability, or prompt service, I felt dismissed and disrespected. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location.

Six weeks later, the car wouldn't start. AAA towed the car up to Tony's. Tony was there to assure me he would diagnose and fix the problem. Sure enough, a wire had somehow come loose and Tony had the car ready in a few hours. The real test of a business is how it stands behind its work when something goes wrong. Tony didn't hesitate to repair the problem and I am back on the road. There was no hesitation in correcting the problem.
