I normally don't have many issues leaving Firestone. recently I've received the run around on having my trunk lock fixed. I was told the dealership part was needed and they would contact the dealership (roughly over 60 days ago), I asked if I buy the part myself can they just install. I was told yes. when scheduling the appointment after the part was purchased I was told they don't use parts not from the dealership but they will make an exception. I make it to my appointment today and now I get told they will NOT do the work because they lack the tools...they could have minimum asked me if I wanted a shot of the liquor they had before wasting my time and money with the run around. to make it worse the manager put in the computer system I needed my struts repaired which was NOT what I told him at all. read more

I had to have a wheel bearing fixed somewhere else because the first repair I had done here failed. I also did not receive a complete diagnosis of the issues with my car when I took it in for a checkup, and had to go to a dealership to find out the real issues. read more

Had A crack in my coolant hose to which they completely broke it upon inspection and left it not drivable and me stranded. I had to walk 5 miles home and to work the next day until they got the part and fixed it, to which they then broke another part and I had to pay another $200. They then wanted $200 just to add coolant and I said I would just add it myself to save money. But instead they used the coolant I had stored in the back of my car and then spilled it all over, didnt tell me and left the mess. I will never go to this Firestone location again. The one by Crossroads Mall is much better and more professional. read more

They stole my oakleys out of my truck. Called manager to report and never heard a word back. This was about 2 months ago, but im still mad. Glasses cost me 160. Would not recommend. They also put a clutch fan in my truck and now it sounds like an airplane. I called to see if its fixable and they told me i would have to rebuy another fan, around 600. Took it to the dealer and they informed me its from using cheap parts.I hate my truck now, cant drive with the windows down because of the sound, Will never use firestone again. read more

Don't go here. I am convinced they have been negligent and that they tried to rip me off by flat out lying. My wife went in with a Ford Edge we bought a week before that was having issues braking. They told her the car had a broken axle and it would cost over $700. I called so I could get a sense of what the issues were, and the price came down to $600 and told them we had just bought the car. We wanted a second opinion. I picked up the car and the guy told me some of the other issues can wait but the axle must be fixed and it could fully brake while I am driving. The price came down to around $500. I took the car to a private shop on the north side (see my other car repair reviews for a good recommendation). I told them nothing about what Firestone told me. They never mentioned a broken axle. When I asked about the axle, they said it was fine. The problem was a sensor that tracks the movement of the wheel was cracked, and so, it would give false readings to the breaking system. The price to fix this was $200. A while ago I brought my wife's Mazda in. I don't remember why I brought it in. Just to tune it up and change a belt. They said there was one other issue. It wasn't too expensive, and we went ahead and did the work. The guy we worked with was great and said the car was in good shape and would last a long time. A few days later I was at a stop sign when the car shock and there were a bunch of popping sounds. I turn off the car. I look underneath and the car was losing all its fluids. The lines just came apart. I had it towed back to this Fire Stone and they fixed it for free. But after that I had to jump the car every time I started it. I took it in, and they changed the battery. They then notice a few other issues besides the battery that need to be fixed. This was a while ago so I don't remember the details, but I do remember that one my first trip they said my car was in great shape and a few weeks later there are issues again. The new battery worked for a week or so then the issue started again. Then after dealing with this for a month the engine of the car dropped out of its casing while I was driving down Oakland. Firestone never mentioned anything as extreme as the potential for my engine to fall out. It was cheaper to buy a used car then to fix this. read more

They do quick work, but very overpriced, both parts and labor. My recommendation: ask for an itemized quote before agreeing to their price. I was quoted for "replacing the strut mounts" and an alignment on my vehicle. I was charged $612 for a quoted 2.8hrs (1.4hrs per side), which matched the ALLDATA time I looked up when I got home. That's $218/hr labor (pre-tax). This price was just for that particular job (strut mount replacement), the alignment was separately charged as a single line item (which was also high in my opinion at $210 for the lifetime alignment, I think the non-lifetime was $170). Turns out they didn't just replace the strut mounts, but actually installed two quick strut assemblies. They charged $360 for each Monroe quick strut assembly (I haven't heard good things about Monroe quick struts) . Later found I could've gotten them delivered to my house, same day for $120 each. I get that auto shops usually charge ~x2 the price of parts, but x3 is excessive. My guess is that replacing strut mounts usually involves disassembly/reassembly of the strut assembly which would leave most of the OEM parts (e.g. compress the spring, unbolt the mount, etc.). Here they figured they can make more money by slapping in a whole new strut assembly while charging the same amount in labor as would take for the dis/reassembly and also make more money on parts because the strut mount would be cheaper than the quick strut. All-in-all they completed the work quickly and weren't too busy, but very overpriced. $1600 total for replacing two strut assemblies and alignment. read more

Worst company don't go there. Made appt for oil change at Westnedge store, get there 10 minutes early. Told agent my name and told her I had 10am oil change. She told me they didn't have my reservation so I tell her I have confirmation number right here on my phone, then all of a sudden she finds my reservation but tells me that overbooked for the 10am spot and couldn't get me in. She also said she called and left a message. I didn't receive a call or message or I wouldn't have driven all the way there for nothing. First she said I didn't have appt then they overbooked appt then her story changed to she called me and left message. Not sure how in business if this is how you treat customers. Avoid the stress and don't go the firestone Westnedge in Kalamazoo !!! read more

NO STARS IS WHAT WE CHOOSE. HOT HEAD STORE MANAGER! We had our car worked on at the Kalamazoo location. Got it home the breaks stayed on all the time which drained our battery, the cruise control did not work after they worked on it. We called to take it back and the store is closed. We call the Portage location explained what happened and they had us bring it to them. My husband had a verbal exchange with the store manager about the poor service at the other location. He blew up and threw the part he had in his hand at my husband saying "No one talks bad about our employees. Get the fu$k out of my store." This guy is a problem in a manager position. I called on 11/12 to arrange oil change, tire rotation/balancing/alignment, and an O2 sensor replacement. I was asked to leave my car all Saturday 11/13 to get the work done and I agreed. I gave up $300 of Ubering only to show up at closing and be told NOTHING was done because they were waiting for the O2 sensor to show up. No one called and I bet they will never adequately or appropriately make up for this nonsense. They wanted me to leave the car until Monday. Fuck that. read more

I had to get a tire fixed a half hour before they closed. I show up and nothing but smiling faces ready to help. They saved me big time from having to wait, as the lug nuts were rounded by the last tire service (discount tire). Great service and very polite respectful people always trying to help and get you the best deal. Highly recommend them. read more

My daughter took her vehicle here to have the inner and outer tie rod ends replaced. After coming home, I looked at her invoice and was astounded at how much they charged her for the parts. I had no concerns with what they charged for labor, however the charges for the parts were incomprehensible. The outer tie rod end retails at a parts store for $35, they charged her $91. The inner sells for $13, they charged her $71! I'm all for businesses making a profit, but over 300% is a bit rediculous!!! I called and talked with the store mgr. She explained it away by stating they warranty their parts. Then tried to tell me they have to pay the mechanic. Isn't that what the "labor" charge is for?? Are you kidding??? You charge a young unsuspecting girl greater than 5 times your cost to provide a "warranty"??? The manager had no concern with what they charged and basically blew me off. I've purchased tires from Firestone and have had work done here before. Sadly, I'll never do business with this place again. read more

Worst experience. Called for a qoute and appointment for 4 new tires, recived a call that they misplaced a tire but had another type that was the same price . Arrived 20mins early. I was then Told the price which was over 40$ more because Eric P. Did not do his job researching my vehicle and the tire pressure monitoring system, so with a bad attitude Eric tells me he will not honour the qoute he gave me. And that is just tire. Cant imagine the price jump for auto repairs because Eric doesnt properly research your vehicle. Never again going to firestone complete auto repair. read more

As a loyal customer of fire stone, I was very surprised with the service I was given yesterday when getting breaks changed. As I was shocked at the estimate that they gave me, I brought in a reference who knows more about cars to help me ask questions. I was then extremely disrespected and harassed by ALL employees that were working, including the manager. I asked them to put my car back together because I didn't not like the way I was treated and would have liked to take it somewhere else. They then told me that they couldn't put it back together, although they are a car place and were going to have to put it back together, with or without new breaks. I will never go back to fire stone based on this experience nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. read more

Made an appointment to have my accord looked at at 2pm and went about my day running errands as they said it would be done by 5. Go back in at 5 to pick up my vehicle only to have them tell me they haven't even looked at it yet. Obviously upset with this they immediately went out and got into the car and brought it into the garage as they apparently had time just weren't doing it or had forgotten about it. Left and ran more errands and they call me no more than 45 min later only to tell me they couldn't replace a heater control valve. Looked up this repair on the Internet and it's a $25 part and an easy fix from what I can tell. I get the feeling that they were just trying to get my car out of there before they closed at 6. Not happy at all with this service. Also still don't have heat in the dead of winter. Will not be going back and would not recommend. Lazy lazy lazy. read more

I bought a new battery from Firestone on Westnedge on a Tuesday. Next day i went back to buy a set of tires. They said they didn't have what i wanted but could get them the next day from a different firestone location in town. I declined and just went down the road to that location for the tires. When getting the free courtesy check of my car while putting my tires on, they told me my battery read low. Told them i just got it from the other firestone on Westnedge and they said i should ho back and have them test it again just to be sure. The store on Westnedge would NOT check the battery they sold me when i went back. They just said the store on West Main was wrong without even looking at it. So which store do i believe? The store i bought it from and would not check it, or the store that said it was bad but would not take care of it for me? Since i bought the $160 battery from Firestone, one if them should. Doesn't say a lot for Firestone in general. I Wont go back to either one.. Unless its to exchange my new junk battery after it leaves me stranded somewhere..SMH read more
