We got a nail in our tire on our way home from Kalamazoo MI to Iowa and showed up at 8:30 am Monday to get it repaired. We were immediately met with friendly, helpful and fast service. The whole process took less than 45 minutes and when we went to pay, we were told this service is complimentary. We didn't get the names of the "above and beyond" employees but they were working on June 26th 2023. Highly recommend! Especially the Westnedge Ave in Portage MI location. read more

Came in to get a couple new tires. The guy was great at getting me a decent deal so I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg. He told me it would take a couple hours. I said ok. Well, over 3 hrs later and still here waiting and NOT happy about that. Went up to the desk to let them know and pulled up when it said I should be out. He said he will go see about that. Im hangry, bored, tired, and sick of sitting here waiting on my car!!!! read more

Discount tire is a money grabbing bad company to do business with. I spent 2 hours waiting for them to rotate my tires. Finally got the car in the bay and then told me they could not rotate my tires. They told me about the tread on the front tires was lower than the back by one number. The Front was a 5 and the back was a 6? Whatever that means. Of course they started to tell me I need new tires. Well BS went to Belle tire NO PROBLEMS. IN and out in 58 minutes. This is not the first time this has happened to me. Vote with your wallet and stop using Discount Tire until they go back the way they used to do business. If I could give them zero stars I would. My fellow American's if is time to stand up to companies like this. Stop using them. read more

We called and they stated that they could get us in right away. We showed up and waited about an hour for balancing and rotating the tires but then they refused to do it and claimed we just needed all four tires replaced. We went to a nearby belle tire where we were told that what they said was false, and that the tread was not ripping off the tires. Very bad experience do not recommend! read more

PSA- this store does not communicate with their on line 3rd party service per their manager who advised us of that today. So if you place your order and book your appointment online-good luck. We were charged double what we agreed to online. I recommend going down the road a bit to Midas who have amazing customer service and they do both tires and alignment!! Don't go to this Westnedge Discount Tire!! read more

After a flat on the way into work I was able to get the tire off and get it here. They had the tire I needed in stock and were able to take it from me for service pretty quick. The lady at the desk was having issues with the new computer system at first but had no real impact on my experience. My only complaint was the app said my tire was ready 20-30 minutes before I was told it was good to go in a relatively empty building. read more

(edit) discount posted a link to contact them about the the review I left. With no way to access link. It's dead. I can't even create an account on discounts web site. I can't access my account either. Good job discount tire. ‍ Made an appointment for 9:15. But showed up at 8am. Was told it would be 45 minutes. So at 9:15 I asked. What was taking so long. I've been sitting there since 8am. He said they basically pushed me back to 9:15. I got a text saying the car would be ready at 9:15. It was 10 am by the time I actually got to leave This is the 3rd.time they blatantly lied to me about how long it takes. Don't trust the time estimates. I just don't understand why he told me 45 minutes at 8am, then you push me back to my original 9:15 appointment I made shortly before walking in at 8 am. I only chose that time because that was the only time you had available. Yet I'm told at 8 am, 45 minutes. read more

Broke off all of the caps on my lug nuts and refused to repair or replace them when I bought new tires. Technician complained about being over worked and had no time to do anything. That is not the customers problem. read more

In the past we have always good service at this location.. today was not a good experience. My 19 year old daughter went in for a tire pressure sensor being out. She specifically asked for just the one to be replaced, but was told by Evan that not just one would go out, they couldn't replace just one because it would "kill the others". and they only sold them "in packs of 4". She told him that just one was replaced this summer (at this location) After looking at her car he came back and changed his tune as only one was out. And confirmed that one was new. I understand that it would be best practice to replace all 4 at once but trying to upsell a customer that you think doesn't know the difference is awful customer service. read more

Had an appointment at11:45 am ,at 12:30 Still haven't brought my truck in garage to have a simple nail hole fixed Not sure why they even have appointments if they can't get your vehicle into garage in a timely manner Not happy with service read more

I was told a tire rotation would be free. When I arrived, I was told there is a $40 charge. Liars... Then they send a link so they can follow up. The link does not work. What terrible customer service read more

My mom's car needed 4 new tires at some point in the near future, so she wanted to wait. But while visiting her and using the car, we picked up a nail and it landed in an unfortunate spot too close to the edge where a patch couldn't fix it. We thought this was the perfect opportunity to get her to replace all four tires. Honestly, dealing with everyone here was just an amazing experience. People were so nice and they got the work done so quickly. If she had gone to her dealership, it would have been pricier. Sam's Club had an insane wait to even get in. Discount Tire ordered the exact same tires she had and it arrived less than a day later. We dropped it off and it was all done within hours. I wish we had honest businesses like this where we live. I highly recommend paying the extra fee to get the warranty. In the grand scheme of things, it's not too much more and they rotate your tires for free after X number of miles. Sorry, can't remember the exact number. read more

Had a tier damaged but a nail not more than a few months after getting new tires here. They fit me in and replaced the tire per my road hazard protection with not a complaint. Since then I have been back for tire air checks and rotation now they are handling the Covid restriction very well and I did not even have to get out of my car. They were properly masked. read more

Going through the construction zone, we had to go on the shoulder because of a trucker crowding us and popped a tire. I knew it was getting close to needing new tires so got a deal on four tires for $660.61-didn't like all those 6's in the price, but we were able to go across the street and eat while they changed out all 4 tires. Took them less than an hour. Kept us up to date on progress through text messages. In fact car was done before we finished eating! read more

I am a tire geek and I have become a loyal customer. After shopping tires for years, I always ended up at Discount Tire due to the value. They can obtain any tire and they respect specialized wheels. Best of all, they will rotate and balance wheels anytime for free. read more

A little hard to get through to make appointment since o was on hold for an hour. After I made my appointment and showed up. They check you in from your vehicle as you arrive. You wait in your vehicle till they are ready. Then you can stay in it when they do the tires or go into the waiting room. It went quickly getting new tires on. Of course you get the warranty that they will fix the punctures or flat tires at no cost. Glad to have new ones ready for winter. read more

What's the point of making an appointment? I came in with a nail in my tire with an appointment at 3:45. There were people who walked in before me with no appointment and checked in and got their car checked out prior to mine. What should have been a 15 min appointment turned into an hour of me sitting their watching people with no appointments get serviced first. My wife had the same exact issue today which is what prompted this review. Their is signage all over the store encouraging people to make appointments? I don't understand the benefit. At least when you walk in with no appointment I am prepared to wait an extended time. If you want people to make appointments, then start prioritizing them! read more

Drew was great along with the service of getting my tire patched. Quick and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Didn't try to over charge me on anything or sell me more of anything, he was very clear with communication. I'm definitely going back next time I need their services read more

I called Discount Tire after a bad experience at Metro Toyota to get my tire pressure sensors checked after 4pm on Friday. I was prepared to make an appointment, but Mike said bring er in now. I was impressed. They found out within 30 seconds that it was two sensors; I paid and was told 45-60 minutes. I went to Lee's chicken and had a great four wings combo meal. I walked back and my car was already done. They got me in AND out FAST on a FRIDAY! I told them I'd Yelp em good, bc they deserved this recognition. read more

We thought we were getting a great deal on tires...because of the free air check and free replacement. However, they do everything they can to discourage you from getting either. Wait times for air check is at least 30 minutes, even if you are the only car in line. Where are the people to help you? Don't offer a service if you are unable to fulfill it. We've been waiting for at least 45 minutes today, which prompted this review. The thing that dropped this review to one star, however, is the fact that when we got the tires, they broke the tire sensors, which tell you when the air pressure is low. To replace those here is $80 apiece. Avoid these scammers. read more

We have taken my Yukon to many places, but never again will I take it anywhere else. I have 24" rims, have had many problems with them. This place goes above and beyond what I ever expected. They ordered new back tires for my truck and they were delayed due to the hurricane, so this man drove up to Detroit and got them. Come to find out they can't be on my truck because of the size . So the tires we got , ordered earlier this year for the front , were wrong and didn't catch it . Andrew went out of his way and I'm so appreciative! He is giving me 4 new tires and rims. And it turned out to be cheaper! I will always stand behind Discount Tire! I highly recommend coming here for your tires! I will be coming back hopefully later rather than sooner ! read more

Discount Tire - Love the fact that an 18 year old girl works here, right out of high school and the manager said she is one of the hardest workers he's got! - Tires Near Me - Kalamazoo, Michigan

Had a flat tire and brought it to DT. Josh was fantastic, he checked all the tires, and the flat was repaired in less than an hour. When I came to pick it up I was told that there was no charge. I have frequented DT for many years to have my tires filled with air, I tip them well they deserve it. FYI, tires can be tricky and they know what they are doing. They are the only place to buy or repair your tires when and if you need them. Thank you, Josh and the folks that worked on my car. read more

My father referred me here due to a slow tire leak. I went to the check in counter where a gentleman was walking out with 2 customers. I stood there and waited. Another worker Evan, was at the check out counter. He never looked my way or acknowledged me. He finished the phone call and went out to the bay. After 12 minutes of being ignored I asked a female who was returning a vehicle, was there anyone there that could help me? She informed me in a rude tone of voice to wait a minute there were only 2 people working at the desk. There was no one else in the store, so I guess no one else was trained in acknowledging customers who provide stores with business. I sat down because no one was there to acknowledge or help me. Evan returned and I asked if there was anyone that could help. He informed me he didn't know I hadn't been helped because I was sitting. So silly me I didn't know if he had a visual deficit and could not see the woman standing at the counter. I left there NEVER to return again. Anyone that was working needs a diversity lesson and customer service etiquette training. The customer is not an interruption but the reason you are employed. My girlfriend stopped in 5/2/2023 to see why tire was low. Was told had screw in tire and wouldn't be long. 2 hours later Finally pulls car in garage, then goes from screw to piece of metal and not repairable. With the Normal crooked tactic of trying to sell her a tire for $170 plus. When she called me I said "just get air and drive 1 mile home I'll handle it". Some rude technician looked at her and said "I figured". I'm even more upset because whoever took her black rim off vehicle, has put scratches in the paint. read more

Helpful staff but the website needs to reflect the long wait time on rim's of all varieties.

Went to Discount Tire after having been given a run around at Belle Tire on Westnedge. Belle Tire on Friday told me to come back at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday for them to fix my tire leak. I arrived early on Saturday and Belle Tire told me it would be around 2 1/2 hours before they could get me in. Not happy with them changing time on me I left and went to Discount Tire on Westnedge in Portage, Mi. Discount tire told me it would take a little while before they could get me in. Discount tire examined the outside of the tire and could not see anything that would cause the leak so they broke the tire/wheel down so they could inspect the inside of the tire for anything sticking thru from the outside and saw nothing. Next the pulled the valve stem and replaced it, put sealer on the rim, remounted the tire, balanced the wheel/tire and reinstalled same on the vehicle. When they handed me the keys I asked what the bill was and they said no charge. I couldn't believe it. Discount Tire has earned my future business. read more

We have been a customer at this location for decades. The business sells us the tires we want and rotates them and keeps them inflated at the proper pressures. We have zero complaints. As fans of the Tire Rack website and as fanatic believers in Michelin tires, we do come in prepared knowing beforehand the tires we want, so the sales people don't try to sell us tires we don't want. We find the location's service to be prompt and attentive. read more

The price for the tires were fine and the cashier was friendly enough...but what is he point of an appointment if it isn't acknowledged. Arrived for appointment on time, cashier said an hour or less. I walked across the street to grab lunch, came back in exactly an hour and they were just jacking my car up. I had respect for their time by being there as promised but that should go both ways. Probably won't return. read more

Went in for wheel balance and Andrew at discount tire told me I need new wheels because the lug nut were over tightened and lug nut were not right (acorn vs ball). Fact is I torque all my wheel to spec which is 75lb/ft and lug nut are acorn which is fitting for the wheel. Took the car to Belle down the road and had them balanced and the highway shake was fixed. These sales technique don't work on car guys like me, and I can tell Andrew knew he screwed up when I recited him the exact spec of my lug torque.
