I called to schedule an appointment for new tires and an alignment and they were able to get me in same day. They were helpful and able to advise on what tires would best suit my needs and car. It was about 1.5 hours of waiting for the service (as expected), they did a good job. I am satisfied with the service received and felt the tired were reasonably priced. read more

I bought 4 new tires recently, and there were several issues: 1. All were mounted inside-out, even though INSIDE is stamped in 5 languages on the sidewall. For asymmetric treads, this completely negates the water-evacuation aspect of the tread design, a safety hazard. 2. All were inflated to 35psi, instead of the recommended 44psi. While not a big issue, it seems like they should be able to read the label on the door frame... 3. I was told that there was a loose ball joint on the front left, and they'd be glad to fix it. I took it to my usual mechanic, and there was nothing wrong with the ball joints, but the right rear suspension knuckle was quite loose, which can lead to catastrophic failure, another safety issue. This lack of attention to detail is disturbing. For over $1000 in tires, I expect more. read more

Went to Belle Tire on Westnedge in Portage, Mi on Friday the 20th of Oct with a front right tire losing air and they told me they couldn't get me in but to come back at 8:00 A.M on Saturday the 21st of October. Got up early and was at Belle Tire before 8:00A.M. And they asked me if I was going to wait and with me having to be there at 8:00 A.M. I figured it wouldn't take long and I would wait. When I told them I would wait they said it would be around 2 1/2 hours before they could get me in. I told them I was told to be he re at 8:00 A.M. and they replies hey we're busy and it would take at least 2 1/2 hours before they could get me in. After getting up early I was not happy and told them I was leaving. It will be a cold day in hell before I go back to Belle Tire. When I left Belle I drove one mile north to Discount Tire and they got me in in about 20 minutes, pulled the wheel/tire and could not see anything so they took the tire of the wheel inspected the inside of the tire looking for something sticking thru to the inside and didn't find anything. Next they replaced the valve stem and core, put sealer on the rim, reinstalled the tire to the rim, balanced the tire/rim and put the wheel back on the car. They next handed me the keys and told me no charge have a good day. I will go back to Discount Tire. read more

I met Chad Richardson one day, because in the news the township where the store was, were giving Belle Tire grief for their big flag (jerks); I stopped by to thank them for their patriotism and to get some work done. I used to exclusively use this company for the past 20 years, as I had gotten very good service and product recommendation from Chad - the FORMER Manager of the Westnedge Road store. Chad was very good at pricing, but even if I had to pay a little more that was ok; Chad was real good about a good discount for my loyalty and being a Vet. The relationship was very mutually beneficial, as over the years, I had referred anyone I knew that was looking for a good deal and good CS. I trusted him at a point to where Chad's word was good enough for me, when he would say: we noticed this and so this or that is necessary and I trusted him so DO IT, and it was always done right. So, I had called because I needed some more work, as was customary and I got the new guy, who let me know Chad has left for Indiana (a promotion - good for him) When I asked a couple of questions, it was clear to me that I was just another person and the discounts were a thing of the past and when I got work done, it was not only more expensive, but they started charging me for things that were not expenditures in the past. When I brought this to the Counter guy's attention: "sorry, we gotta make money." I showed up early like always is recommended and didn't leave the shop, until 4:00 pm (1600hrs) for simple fixes....they didn't even get to it until like noon, then of course they needed parts....the excuses just started rolling off his tongue. Also the quality of the work that was done, wasn't done right so I had to wait there, until they could get the mechanic to double check his work on his reinstallation work... Its gotten more expensive, with more attitude from the counter people and the quality is waning.....it was clear to me that it wasn't business as usual, due time to find another mechanic. read more

I have been a loyal BellTire customer for many many years! They are just a very reliable business. My aunt and uncle use them and they are in there 70s and they treat them so well, very patient and explain everything in detail for my uncle who is hard of hearing! I have gotten a whole new copper break line in my truck, tires, my aunt and uncle have gotten a whole new break line and more! When you walk in the place is newly remodeled. Lots of comfy chairs, free coffee. Free WiFi, a big tall table top to sit out with plugs to charge your phone. USB ports also! Super handy. Clean bathrooms and munchie machines too!! They are also located on westnedge right by aldi, Taco Bell, and many other distractions! I very highly recommend coming here for your car needs!!! read more

We got a good deal over the holidays, but it was the store manager Matt, and front end employee Tyler that really made the difference. Took the time to explain everything in detail and you can tell, they take pride in their work. Matt went above and beyond when the "ID Check" for a discount didn't work, instead of making us jump through hoops, he just took care of it through the shop. Front of house, rude, uncaring, after quoting price they added on all the extras that were not discussed during pricing. I should have walked away. Back of house lazy, incompetent, and equally uncaring. The whole place is a joke. Returned 2 weeks later with slow leak. Told me I needed to replace the rims. Suggested leaving and they might get to it later in day. No acceptable. Suggested going on line to schedule an appointment. Unless I was buying tires or service for alignment or car service there was no place to schedule and appointment. Left with not offer to look at tire or restore air pressure...nothing...just go away. Took vehicle to DISCOUNT TIRE. easy to make appointment. checked in, got vehicle in to check out problem, found leaking valve stem. Fixed in 10 minutes. All for a NO CHARGE AND EVERY CONTACT WAS WITH A SMILE AND WARM CONVERSATION. My hope is that Belle tire goes out of business to save others from supporting this crooked business. I had a flat tire. It was 4:55pm. I called Belle Tire. Matt said to come on it and they would get it fixed for me the same night. To say they were SUPER busy is an understatement. After driving back from Indiana, I noticed the next morning my drivers side rear tire could not keep air. I drove my truck in and Issac said he would try to work me in at the end of the day. And... he was able to ... a 3" screw was in the tire. The tire was repaired and they sent me in my way without a charge. I'm stating at Belle! Great team read more

So the Buick dealer gives me a coupon for $30 full synthetic oil change and tire rotation with a vehicle inspection. That took over 1 1/2 hours and then comes the report. I need control arms on both sides of the front suspension. The parts price was almost 3 times what a 20 second google search showed. I left and went for a bid from Westnedge Belle Tire. Matt looked at my dealer report and said he would have his guys check out my car for free. Sure enough I only needed one control arm replaced. The repair estimate from the dealer was $1300 and the final repair cost from Belle Tire was under $400. Scheduling the repair to my needs was no problem and completed on time with no surprises. This place is a joke, Brought my truck in with a rusted brake line and was told they would be glad to look at it. Next day They called and said nothing could be done as the brakes were to rusty to work on. @ 4 months prior another shop had all ready replaced my front brakes (calipers, rotors , pads new master cylinder and also my rear brake pads) When I went to get my truck it was in the same exact spot where I had parked it outside. This time, I had to buy new tires and I had never purchased any before, by myself. All I knew was I wanted the same brand I had and that there was something about prorating the old tires. (Didn't know for sure what that meant). The gentleman I spoke with first also drives a Traverse, so I felt good going with his recommendation for the Michelin Defenders. Do not go to Belle Tire on Westnedge in Portage, MI. Bunch of shadiness! Had a 10:30am scheduled appointment and just left at 2:45pm. About 2 hours in they told me my car was ready. Well I walked out to my car after I saw them pull it out and the same tires I drove in on were still on it! Did they think I wouldn't notice!? I had ordered the tires online and had set the appointment 3 days ago. The CSR said he would walk out with me after I came in and told them. All he could say was hmmm. Then the Asst. Manager jumped in and said that they had to drive up early this morning to Plainwell to get my tires and they didn't discover until they got back that there was a defect in one of the tires (he had it sitting there behind the counter). Well guess what? Not even the tires that I ordered. He said I would need to reschedule and that they would have my tires on Monday (mind you when I did the appointment online and selected the tires I wanted, it said they were in stock at this location). Then after more time they said they had them and they had been "misplaced" and they would get my car right in. My car was pulled back in and sat up in the bay with no tires on for quite some time with no action. Then I went outside and it was parked. I went out to check and they had the tires on finally. He asked if I wanted an alignment and I said yes, but you're not charging me for it. At 1:50 I left a voicemail with the corporate office to call me. He said I would be next for the alignment after the white truck that was in there. When I saw them pulling a different car in there instead of mine I told them I was out. Got in my car and my tires were between 39-41 psi (my car is supposed to be 33 psi). They couldn't even do that! OMG BEWARE!!! They blamed it on being short staffed. read more

I was on the highway when a metal strip fell off a truck in front of me. I swerved but could not avoid running over it. When I got to town, I noticed that pressing the brakes made the car wobble and I wondered if the minivan was safe to drive. During the Covid 19 pandemic, Belle Tire (Portgage) was one of the only businesses on Westnedge still open at 7 p.m. My dad said the store had a good reputation, so we asked them to determine if my minivan was safe to drive. The workers, particularly Emilio, were kind and helpful. They did a quick safety check and got me on my way again. (Luckily I had not damaged the car, the wobbling noise was corrosion on the rotor from leaving the car sit.) The safety check was free, they treated me like family, and they all wore protective masks. They went above and beyond. Thank you Belle Tire of Portage for treating me like family. Got tires put on same day during COVID-19 and service was good. Javier was respectful and provided good customer service. He kept me informed regarding service progress and wait time. He was able to provide service same day. While putting on the tires they found I needed a sensor battery and informed me about it without pressure to purchase. That is why I added the sensor service as well. They appeared honest with this new repair need. All service was completed within a reasonable time frame. Inside they were respectful of social distance all furniture and standing area for service set up was arranged to allow distance and it was clean. Great service today. I will return. read more

My wife went into Belle Tire about a month ago to have a leaky tire repaired and also have them quote some suspension work. After shopping around we found that we could find a lower price going through the dealership (who in actuality was going to do a bit less work). When the day arrived for the dealership to do the work they found that our lugnut key was missing (which Belle Tire would have used for the tire work earlier). I called Belle Tire, expecting a battle and the Manager quickly and sincerely apologized and offered to make it right as soon as possible. Not only did he take care of the issue he offered to do the original suspension work at a lower price, more competitive with the dealer's cost (even though they were doing more work). Considering the amount of work they did they had the car out quickly and did a really nice job. This level of service (even when you've made a mistake) is the way you win a customer for life! read more

4 stars because Belle Tire reminds me of the Red Wings.....just kidding. I actually went in for what I thought was a bead leak, turned out to be a nail. Offered me 1 new, 2 new, or 4 new option. I was set to take the quote and run with a spare but he was able to hook me up with a used tire (exact model / size) after some checking of used stock. Fantastic! Now I can postpone the $1000 set of new tires for the winter. Are they slow, yeah. Walk-Ins accepted, sure, when they are absolutely dead. Do my tires fail on off hours, NEVER! 1.5 hours later I was out the door. Tires (new) seem cheaper at Discount Tire, at least they were for my truck, BT didn't even carry them. read more

I took my daughters car in with what I thought might be a bad wheel bearing, they looked at it, told me the front brakes were bad (which I knew), but no problem with the wheel bearings. Less than 2 days later, I took it to http://www.airportautoservice.com/ and it was diagnosed as a bad left front wheel bearing. had them do the repairs and no surprise, the noise is gone. don't waste your time with Belle tire, they obviously don't do a thorough inspection, and fortunately she was not hurt. read more

I find it odd that this place seems to find something wrong with the ball joints of all the vehicles I've sent as well as the vehicle a friend of mine sent. My mechanic didn't find anything wrong with any of them and I had no driving problems. My recommendation would be to get your tires here (they do have good prices), but have your own mechanic make the call about any major front end work. read more
