The I brought up weekly pay. Told my manager that bi-weekly pay is looked at as employers controlling our money because we aren't good with it. They did NOT like this. Less than an hour after suggesting weekly pay, I was fired. I hope my mop job on the floor leaves a taste in their mouths for years to come. I spent a good 10 hours on that lower bay mopping and cleaning up years of garbage. Avoid working here.

When I called to make an appointment to bring in our camper van for an oil change, a voice I hadn't heard before answered the phone, and I was surprised to hear someone besides the manager, Ken's voice since I'm fairly sure he was the only one to ever answer when I called in the last 15 or so years. The person I spoke with said that they can't service my vehicle because their large vehicle lift is broken so they can't service trucks and vans currently. He said he couldn't give an estimate for when they would be repairing that bay, and recommended a different Midas location for me to reach out to. And a case of what a small world it is in Kalamazoo, I wound up running into Ken at Sam's Club later that same day and he let me know that they had fired him after 15 years of service. Midas corporate made a huge mistake letting go this incredible manager, and I will be taking my business to the place where he is now employed. I have never had anything but incredible experiences with the customer service Ken and his team provided, and he really set the tone of professionalism for the business that was mirrored by everyone on his team. They were always prompt, professional, welcoming, and informative without being pushy. He had my complete trust, which is often hard for a woman to find in a mechanic. The three star review is an amalgamation of the many many five-star experiences I have had at this business and the absolute absence of stars I feel for the corporate office who let go such a stellar employee.

They broke the hood latch on my truck- it's a newer vehicle so it opens a little differently and…read morethe tech pulled it too far. $1100 in damage. I had to take it to the Ford dealer to get it fixed- and they were able to confirm that they were the ones that broke it. The manager tired to tell me that it came in that way- that somehow the last people to open the hood broke the latch. In order for this to be true they would have had to break the latch, get the hood open (the ford dealer had to tear the front end apart to get it open), and then close it without bothering to tell anyone. Little do they know the last person that did the oil change was the Walmart on 9th street. Regardless- they broke it and can't be bothered to even attempt to make it right.
