When I returned, the supervisor, Eric, was extremely rude and dismissive, refusing to check the issue and telling me to come back next week. There are three Discount Tire locations in Kalamazoo - this one is our favorite. We learned this the hard way, after waiting extremely long times at the Westnedge location. ACK! Hopefully, our experiences will save YOU some time. Two things we prefer about this location: 1. The free tire check is almost instant. WOW! No waiting - pull into the free tire check area (when you buy tires here, you get free checks - yahoo!) and you are immediately helped. Also, the people that help you? Super friendly and very speedy. NICE! 2. Honesty. We went in to get our tire fixed (nail - no thank you, random person that likes to throw nails into the street. But I digress). My husband had a quick question on the sensors, and the person helping us ascertained the problem, offered several solutions (with prices), and worked quickly to get the tire changed and new sensors put in. There's free wifi, padded chairs, lovely windows to let the sun in, and fast service. Before we had gone to this location, we had decided never to patronize Discount Tire again. I had a slow leak in a tire so I brought my vehicle in to get it looked at. While they were checking it out they showed me that my tread was super low on almost all my tires, and recommended a replacement. The price for 4 brand new tires was SO reasonable and I also opted to get the warranty which was only $15/tire and it applied at any discount tire location. They told me it would probably take 2-3 hours because they were busy with appointments, but they had my car back out to me in under an hour! Very pleased with the speed and level of customer service here and would definitely recommend. read more

Every time I've been to discount tire I leave satisfied. I've been here before to use my warranty certificate, I called at 5:15 and they worked me In and had it done and ready to drive before they closed at 6:00. Then today, I went in for snow tires and they didn't have the ones I ordered In stock due to a manufacturer back order. They upgraded my tires, at no extra cost to me, and had my car ready to go within an hour. I always get great service and never feel like I'm being ripped off or taken advantage of which I appreciate. You guys are fantastic and you'll have my business for as long as I can come to you. read more

I purchased a full set of tires for my vehicle on Discount Tire's website. I scheduled an appointment for installation on line as well. When I arrived for my appointment, I pulled in to the coned lane for check-in. As I was trying to check in online, and employee came out to check me in. (Supposedly you are ahead of any existing walk-in's if you pay online).... My appt time was at 10. I was back in my car with with my new tires installed at 10:39am. Very quick. No problems at all. Employees that I came into contact with all were wearing masks/face coverings as well. Very much appreciated during the covid pandemic. A lot of "mom and pop" shops are not following masking guidelines so that is something I highly appreciate at DT!. Worked an overnite shift inKalamazoo& was headed home when check tire light came on! I stopped & my R rear tire was flat I called Discount Tire, spoke to Dan, & got set up to get tire fixed! I had arrived at 3:50pm for my 4pm appt but didn't get to talk to someone until 4:10pm. Once I checked it, it was a quick appointment. How much do I love Discount Tire right now? So much. So, so, so much. Not as much as I love air, but close. I got a flat on the road today. Such a bummer. I was taken to another tire shop that was going to charge me $615 to fix my tire on a wheel with cross-threaded lug nuts. That is a lot of money. They also couldn't fix it yet today. I'd have to wait until tomorrow. I was an hour's drive from home, what a mess! (I am thinking rental cars, hotel rooms, all sorts of what have you...) I called the Discount Tire near my home where my wheel was services in Feb. wondering how this could happen. The manager advised me to head to the local store and they'd "take care of me" and "get me mobile tonight". Aaaaaaaaaand, much to my delight, they did. One man had to run to the auto parts store to get the pieces he needed for the repair, and both Tim and Travis worked well after close, but they got me on the road, tonight. I am everso grateful for their commitment to being a company built on integrity full of employees who are people with high ethical standards. There was a small mistake made in another shop, and the Kzoo folks helped me in my time of distress. Super shout-out to Tim and Travis. I am home safe, with my car. WHEW! Love these guys! The only issue is that I had 4 used tires and 1 unused tire and asked them to install the 4 unused tires on the car and keep the new tire for a spare. So,my wife has been driving the crap out of my car lately. I bought 2 new tires off of some web site. They finally showed and we needed to find someone to mount. So we called discount tire. They got us right in and did a great job. Wifey apparently was bouncing my car tires off of every curb she could find and today she get a flat. One day after the new tires are mounted she rips up a valve stem on one of the old ones. I called discount and talked to Justin. The tow truck dropped my baby off(my car). We waited about 10 minutes and BOOM bring it in. Since wifey thinks she's driving NASCAR I figured we should change both old stems. Justin hammered it out in about 5 minutes. Who doesn't love a new set of tires on these Michigan roads?? It's a great day! I'm getting a new set of tires (I'm singing that line in my head). We always get our tires here. Friendly and fairly fast service. Free rotations and reminders if you need them. You can also come and get the air checked, especially during season changes. It helps the wear and tear, who knew. They didn't try to up sell me today. I researched the tire I wanted ahead of time and bought those. They were actually a hair cheaper than Costco. They have a comfortable waiting room with complimentary coffee and water bottles too. So if you stay here while you wait instead of walking to Sweetwater Donuts you won't ruin your diet, another plus. read more

I bought some winter tires here last fall. When I came in the spring to put my old tires on, the salesman was trying to talk me into getting two new tires and telling me he didn't think they were going to be able to use two of my tires - even though they are the ones that took them off last fall and bag them and told me they looked fine. Of course, they charge $80 every time you change your tires so if you do it twice a year - that's $160. I was still going to do it and I waited over an hour and I guess because I didn't buy a new tire from them it was going to be even longer. I left and decided instead of spending $160 per year changing my tires around that I was just going to buy some all season radials. when I asked them about all season radials they tried to sell me some tires that were $180 per tire. I did some research online and ordered 4 of them on Amazon for $190. They are rated at 5 stars. Higher than the ones they tried to sell me. Now I don't need to change my tires anymore. I try to shop at brick-and-mortar stores whenever I can - whenever it makes sense, but they have their agendas and I just can't seem to get a decent deal at any of them. Update. Dropped my wife's car off this morning at 8:30 to put on snow tires. She had an appointment. Been there two hours already... they are not answering phones. That means zilch... there is absolutely no benefit to making an appointment at this place. It means nothing. read more

First time customer and had a great experience. I called to schedule an appointment which they said wasn't necessary. So I took it in for them to check one of my tires and was helped immediately. Originally was told it might need to stay overnight. After they looked into it I got a call 10 minutes after dropping it off. They told me what needed to be done and they could do it then. I got my car back in less than 2 hours after dropping it off! I won't go anywhere else for my tires from here on out especially because of the warranty!! read more

Update: This should have posted in April. For some reason it didn't post when I originally wrote review. My mom went here yesterday to get a new set of tires which went great but the service guy started arguing with her when she said she wanted to take the old tires with her. Then he tossed the tires into the back seat and trunk uncovered so the dirt and road yuck got on the fabric of the seat and carpet of the trunk. It was completely unprofessional. read more

Terrible Service. I purchased 4 snow tires. During installation they showed me a tire pressure sensor they said was stripped. If I didn't replace it that tire would leak air. The sensor was just fine when I took the car in, no pressure light. It wasn't stripped when I brought the car in. Ok, put a new one on. I left Discount tire and started driving home. The tire pressure went on after about 20 miles. I checked the tire pressures. They should have been at 32 psi. They were at 40, 38, 38, 36 psi. I also had a severe vibration. I went back there I explained my concerns. Why were the tire pressures so wrong? He said they have been having trouble with their tire press gages. They said they would take care of it. When they told me the car was ready. I was told the weight on a wheel fell off. I got in the car, started it. The pressure sensor light was still on. I told him and he needed to sinc the pressure sensors that he didn't do. I Will Never Go Back there. I called Discount Tire and was told (we can give you back the $15 for your gas. NO. You keep the $$. I will NEVER go back. read more

Just wanted to say thanks to the people that helped my daughter, Lizzie on March 29th & 30th with the flat tire on her CRV. She is a college student at WMU. They helped her with her flat tire (that she drove on to get there). Recommended alternates for replacing either a single tire, a pair or whole set. We went with a new set of Michelins. My company has over 100 company owned vehicles, my purchasing manger thought Lizzie received a great price. Great service. The guy went through his required up-sell routine on me, then when I said I could only afford 2 tires, he quoted me a standard price for two no frills 40,000 mile tires. Then when I asked him if there was anything he could do he said he'd give me two 65,000 mile tires at the same price and that if I came in during the next 6 months he'd sell me two more at the same price. That price happened to also be significantly less than what Belle Tire quoted me at for the no frills 40,000 mile tires. Once we had that settled the wait was great. 30 minutes after agreeing on the price I was out the door and back to work. Granted I went there during the middle of the work day. Overall, great experience. I'll happily give them more of my business. read more
