Stopped into the Becky road/ Battle Creek Michigan store for tire repair due a road hazard damage, eventually purchased a replacement tire. When following up on my appointment sales associate Matt answered asking for my information when Matt found that he was not the salesmen he refused to answer any questions eventually hanging up on me. I called back with Matt answering the phone becoming dismissive mention I was wasting his time I need to call back to speak to my salesmen then being disrespectful to my questions. They never have enough desk help and are always trying to sell a new set of tires. "Discount Tire" is a misrepresentation. I recently shopped around and found them to be within range, but no savings to really be had. Then they never ask if you want their "protection plan." If you don't speak up they just automatically add it to the total for new tires. Shop around is my best advice. read more

Discount Tire is worthless if looking for a good deal on tires. I've been getting tires from Discount Tire since 1976. This past week they would not mount some new tires and TPMs senders that were given to my wife. Never been a problem in the past, but now they tell you if you didn't buy the tires from them, at their inflated prices, then they will not mount them for you. They will tell you that they price match, but that is a lie. Over the past five years, I have taken them a price to match on three different occasions and all three times they couldn't get within a $100 of the price, let alone match it. Save yourself some money and purchase your tires online and arrange for installation at time of purchase from someone listed local that isn't Discount Tire and save yourself $100+ on your new tires. After buying tires for myself, the wife and two kids since 1976, I'll never spend another dime at the Battle Creek location. If you have to deal with a Discount Tire you might try the Kalamazoo or Jackson locations, because they have both beaten Battle Creek's location pricing by large enough amounts to make the extra driving distance worth it. Battle Creek Discount Tire has gone to hell over the years and doesn't care about their customers, only the money. My 16 yo daughter needed an emergency flat repair due to road debri. She called Belle ( tires came from them ) and she was told store closes in 10 minutes so would be left till next day. Had a flat and a low tire issue and came here after Walmart didn't have the tire I needed and recommended this location across the street. I showed up right when they opened at 8am and there were 3 customers waiting outside the door. I was seen within about 15 minutes and they were very helpful in determining what I needed. Obviously they're going to upsell, but I didn't find it pushy. I was there about 2 hours all together which I was a bit unhappy about, but it seems that people who had appointments got first dibs (naturally) and pushed me back. If you can get an appointment, I'd recommend that- I couldn't in my situation, but I would for next time. They weren't weird about some special situations with my car either. The employee who helped me out front (Julian) was very friendly and helpful, as was the employee in the garage itself. I noticed as well that all of the employees made an effort to greet every single person that came in the door promptly, answered the phone in a friendly way, and at one point someone came out and offered everyone waiting bottled waters. I had purchased Michelin's for my truck and they would not run out smoothly, they rebalanced them without improvement. They then replaced the tires free of charge after it hadn't gone away after a few thousand miles. Awesome Customer Service! I returned today for my free re-balance and rotation and was in and out in 30 minutes on a Saturday Morning! They also pointed out something that if it gets worse for me to come back in and they will work with me to get the tires replaced. I had 4 new Michelin MS/2 tires put on my Ford motor home chassis last Friday. The replacement went pretty quickly and the technicians inflated the tires to 80 psi required by the loads in the rear axle. When I checked the tire pressure next morning, there were only 45-50 psi remaining in two of the tires, fortunately, one low pressure tire on each side. Had the low pressure tires were all on one side the motor home could lose balance and cause major accident! I inflated the tires to 80 psi again and continue my drive to South Dakota. When I checked the tire pressures in the morning on the third day, the low pressure tire on the left had only 30 psi and the one on the right only 55 psi. Unfortunately there is no Discount Tire store in the Sioux City IA area where I stopped overnight. I had the tires inspected by a technician in a local shop. He found the Battle Creek Discount Tire store technician forgot to tighten the valve stems when they replaced them and it caused the leak. I was shocked by such a sloppy workmanship. All customers pay $16 per tire to replace the valve stem/tire installation. I would never go back to this store again!!! read more
