I mentioned a few issues I had in addition to the main problem - wipers quit working. They looked my car over and found the problems, providing me with details and what could be fixed now and what could wait. They provided me details, cost, etc. and kept me apprised of progress. Additionally, they provided me a loaner car. This was a godsend as I was going to daily radiation therapy for cancer. I was so pleased with their care, I also asked them to give me an oil change as I knew it would be needed soon. TLDR: 1-VERY POOR COMMUNICATION-while total price reasonable…read morethey totally incorrectly quoted price 2-HAD CAR WAY TOO LONG FOR A 1 HOUR SERVICE-3 days 3-DID NOT DO INITIAL SERVICE REQUESTED-did rear instead of front differential 4-Overfilled fluid-required service at other shop 5-Front desk person not helpful, manager condescending even though I have plenty of mechanic experience Called to have front (and if necessary rear) differential fluid change on kid's AWD car due to front axle binding while making turns. We were quoted $160 for this service by phone and text. LJ at front desk accepted car, we did not hear from them for more than 24 hours. Daughter received text stating cost would be $250 including a "diagnosis fee", and she declined to sign (I had diagnosed the problem). On phone they then said they only changed REAR differential fluid (NOT what we asked for or were quoted) and front problem persisted-we were polite during this time. We were then quoted additional $200 for front diff service. We went to store, LJ was at computer and said "It will be a minute" while we waited.... After 2 minutes he finally looked up and engaged with my daughter, then went to get manager. Manager mostly pleasant but only addressed me (owner daughter standing right there) and was condescending when I asked specifics regarding the work to be done stating "you let me handle the mechanics of the car". They finally did the front diff/transmission fluid change at a "discount" of $150 after having car for 3 days! Checked and they overfilled fluid by at least 1 quart. Had front diff serviced again at another shop.

I was a…read morelittle apprehensive this time as I found a new owner but I thought a new owner would not make a difference. I was very wrong! I asked them to replace brakes in our Lexus Nx200t. They charged me to replace both brake pads and rotors, front and back. The brakes were functioning normally but the car started making a squeaking sound whenever I was turning right. They agreed to look into it but I had to take it back twice; the first time they sent me back although they told me to come on a Monday morning. After the second visit, they said that my wheel bearings needed replacement and the squeaking sound had nothing to do with the brake job. I argued that the sound came only during turning sharply, but they were dismissive. I took my car to Doc's automotive, and they were surprised that the brakes had not been greased. Doc's Automotive fixed the noise but I had to pay a good amount of money, which included three hours of labor. I need to mention that the Lexus came with a lock for lug nuts and they used unnecessarily high torque to shear the lock and lug nuts in the front wheels. Doc's automotive said that the back ones were crushed and new wheel lug studs had to be put in. I will never go back to this store again.

We were driving home from Up North and, while stopping at the Lansing Costco, we noticed a scraping…read moresound coming from the right rear of the car. It was a Saturday afternoon and the dealership's repair shop closed at 3:00 PM. We saw Mavis Tire & Brakes had a 5 star rating and drove to the shop. The signs say "Tuffy Tire & Auto" but it was the correct address. I went in and described our concern, and Brian (who had been at the service desk) said he'd look at it. Within a minute the car was in a service bay. Brian gave everything a quick inspection, confirmed the sound was coming from the right rear, and took the wheel, caliper and disc off. He discovered an emergency brake spring that was loose and causing the sound. He got everything sorted and had us on our way in less than 20 minutes! When I asked him how much we owed, he really surprised me, telling me that he wasn't going to charge us for such a small job! It might have been an easy quick job for Brian, but it saved our day for sure!
