Came in for a minor tire issue and was honestly expecting it to be a hassle, but everything went super smoothly. The staff were friendly, quick, and very easy to deal with. Really appreciated the honest service- Mahalo for not charging us!!! read more

I ran into some issues with my front tires. One went flat and I had to use the spare for a little bit and then I found out the opposite side tire had a 3 inch long gash that was deep enough to expose the metal wires inbedded in the rubber. I decided it was time to get new tires and was recommended to Firestone on Fort Shafter Flats. I called the phone number listed on their Yelp page and they answered right away. I told them I wanted to replace all 4 of my tires, required an alignment and wanted an oil change for my 2003 Tacoma. They had an opening the next day but I had other appointments so I took the opening that was available 3 days later. It was scheduled for a Thursday at 1pm. On-site, you need military base access to get to this Fire Stone location. When I walked in, the waiting room was actually empty and someone was able to attend to me right away. I checked in with him and he suggested I get their free maintenance check on top of the tire changes, alignment and oil change. The whole job would take about 2hrs so I opted to wait it out in their waiting room since I had no where to go. They have public restrooms and vending machines available outside their building. The waiting room itself had AC, chairs and a TV so I was comfortable enough. When they were finished, the mechanic went over all the documents with me, printed everything including the itemized receipt and handed me my keys. Everything cost me around $800. There was also a whole list of items they found during the maintenance check that they suggested should be worked on soon with estimates for costs. I didn't schedule anything right away but could have if I wanted to. While driving away, I was super happy with the work they completed. My truck drove so smoothly and my steering wheel no longer pulled to left. I purchased their base tire brand and it worked out well. I just wanted to thank Firestore at Fort Shafter for getting me in quickly and doing a job well done on my truck as a 1st time customer at this location. I recommend their services to anyone with base access and look forward to working with them again in the future. read more

As the closest auto repair shop to work, I regularly use this Firestone. I'll alternate between services here and a nearby Honda dealership for my Fit. Prices are decent and repairs are good. Check out their coupons before stopping by, there will usually be something you can use. I use the Firestone app & website to keep track of my auto service history. It was very useful, especially when I lived on the Mainland and regularly took road trips. It was nice that any Firestone affiliate had access to my vehicle service history. One of the best things about Firestone is their lifetime (as long as you own the car) warranties, especially their alignment. It comes in handy with the bad road conditions in Oahu and Michigan. Good workmanship, decent rates, what more can you ask? Will repeat and recommend! read more

Well here's another update on Firestone Pearlridge a little better customer service this time. A little advice make a appointment if your just changing oil for your car. They ask you over the phone if your going to wait for your car or just dropping it off. Tell them your just going across the street to Pearlridge for lunch and they normally call you back within 2 hours telling you your car is ready . If not they take there time and it could be like 4 hrs like my last experience. Another tip go to their website for their oil change coupon it's only $24.99. Most places it can run you $49.99 and up for regular oil not the good synthetic type. Support local whenever you can read more

Honest and do only what's needed. I brought my old, dinged up, slightly corroded Toyota in for annual inspection. I'm a car person so I know pretty much what condition it was in. Despite the poor looks they came up with what I thought. Everything was OK, brakes are starting to wear, but with the low miles we put on the island they can wait. That was 5 years ago, same result each year. Prices have got up a bit, but so has everything, still reasonable. read more

They were very knowledgeable and helpful and the woman who works there was very kind to me. Thank you Firestone!

Absolute crooks! I go there for a safety inspection, and they wanted $80 to replace a $4 lightbulb! I went to autozone, bought two bulbs for $8, watched a two minute YouTube video, and did it myself in less than 5 minutes!!! read more

Quick and convenient. Always good service and communication. The job is always great and servicing is quality.

Can't say enough about the service at this location. Jessica was beyond helpful; she called when she said she would call, tracked down the tires my vehicle needed, and worked with my schedule to get me the appointment that best fit my needs. For me, that kind of support is what keeps me coming back to a place; I don't care about amenities or freebies or whatever...I care about courtesy, professionalism, and being genuine. I'll be coming back here for all of my needs, thanks to Jessica. read more

My friend told me about this location as it had good prices, great service and is not busy/crowded like out in town or Schofield. Went in to get a quote on new tires, and after going over the sizing and what not, the lady at the front desk asked if I wanted to do it at that moment. I was shocked at first cause i never expected that, so without hesitation I took the appointment. Good work and great customer service. This is a great location, a hidden gem if you have base access. read more

Warning: do not get this location: mistaken for the 1414 Dillingham Boulevard location. This is an updated review for Firestone. I simply used the Yelp app to check in as normal but I did not verify the address. It turns out that the Yelp app will probably check you in for the Fort Shafter Firestone location simply because their mailing address is in Kalihi. So the moral is as always, trust but verify. In this case verify that you have the correct location. Firestone is offering synthetic oil and filter change for only $19.99 plus tax until May 31st 2014. A really fantastic benefit is that with your oil change, they will also do a complimentary mini inspection of your car. Its a great deal and highly recommended. I also recommend that you make an appointment by telephone before bringing your car in for fastest service and least wait time. read more

I will first say that despite all the negative reviews, my visit at Firestone at Ft.Shafter Flats was pleasant. My mother had access military base access, so we decided to take my car here for a "check-up" and oil change. This was late last year. Why such a low star review? They tried to rip me off!!! I know a TON of auto mechanics and never had any intention of having any services done at Firestone or any other auto shop (other than the oil change). Anyhow, I dropped my car off at Firestone so they could "run diagnostics" and change my oil all while I went out to lunch. I get a call telling me the status of my motor vehicle. I am read a list of services that need to be done. Of course, I deny any services from them and request a copy of the diagnostics report upon pick-up. Vehicle pick-up went smooth and I paid the oil change fee... I went on my way. Days later, I purchase some parts (an alternator, an engine mount, and some belt) that needed to be replaced based on Firestone's diagnostic report. I ask one of my auto mechanic friends to install said parts. Get this, the ONLY part that ACTUALLY needed to be replaced was one of the engine mounts. THEY TRIED TO RIP ME OFF. My friend literally took out my alternator and put it right back in! It was Costco that sold me a faulty battery (which I replaced, no problem). I ended up returning the new alternator & belt that I had purchased and got my money back. Imagine if I told Firestone to go ahead and do the "repairs." They probably rip people off daily. read more

This place (if you have access to the base) is great. Timely and reasonably priced. However, depending on who is at the desk would also depend on what answer (or how good an answer) you receive. Overall. I am a fan. read more

I love coming to this location since I can get onto most Military bases. It's easy scheduling an appointment for an oil change as this particular location isn't that busy like the rest. I usually call ahead to schedule my oil change so I don't have to wait that long. The workers here are always professional and friendly. Plus, they have a tv to keep me entertained. Restrooms are easily accessible and there even are vending machines that are reasonably priced for drinks and snacks. read more

Made a same week appointment, dropped my car off in the morning, and walked across the bridge to work at Ft Shafter. It's great having a Firestone nearby in which you can drop your car off to get serviced and not have to wait at the shop. I had an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment scheduled, but added the fuel injector cleaner service upon arrival since it had been some time. I was called a few hours later by a technician inquiring about replacing my air filter because it was dirty, and the alternator drive belt that was cracking to a small degree. My car is a 2015 with 45,000 miles so this was rather surprising but I didn't want to chance not replacing the belt. I didn't change to their $22 air filter since I'm pretty sure I can find it at a parts store for cheaper and replace on my own. I received another call later that my car was ready. They close at 7pm and I picked it up at 6:45pm without issue. read more

I have been using this site for 3 years now and have always had reliable work. This is the only firestone on base I recommend on the island.

Total ripoff!!! Even though they tried to rip me off they were professional-hence the one star rating. I was a target as soon as I walked through the door. I already had 2 strikes against me 1) Female, 2) Military. They tried to charge me overall $4,500 for recommended work, but to pass state inspection a minimum of $2,500 of work was REQUIRED before they would pass me and hold up my vehicle registration. I politely declined and took my Boss's advice and actually take my car to the manufacturer- Nissan. THANK YOU JESUS, I did. Got the same items fixed for $1,100!!!! Plus I got a recall on my car fixed that I didn't know about!Shout out to JJ at TONY NISSAN in Waipahu for the excellent customer service, up front pricing and NOT taking advantage!!!!!!!!! read more

People were friendly and nice. Went there to get 2 brand new front tires. They even replaced a broken wheel lug stud. Finally got the tires replaced after 2 hours. It's been 4 weeks since and there was noise sounding like wheel bearing coming from the front. Turns out the lug nuts were loose on both tires. The mechanic never torqued the lug nuts. Someone could have gotten killed or serious damage to car. read more

Wow first review for this location? You would think the main location in town would have a review Anyways took my car here for a oil change/tire rotation. First experience with Firestone overall and it was alright. A couple of tips -Maybe better to do online appointment a couple of days in advance. It's pretty easy to do. I set up an appointment on thursday for the next monday. -Maybe better to drop off early. I had an appointment for 9am and the place was pretty full. Waiting in the lobby area were about 5 other people. -Look online for coupons. They have some pretty good specials overall for firestone and everything on their website is honored locally. Here are some of the better coupon sites for them: http://www.gasonomics101.com/coupon-all.html http://www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/offers/ http://www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/gasonomics/coupon-all.jsp -If your looking for straight up oil change & tire rotation they may have the best deal. I've seen coupons as cheap at 15$ but I just got mine for 23$ after tax/fees -For oil change/tire rotation I dropped off at 9am and they said the car was ready by 11am(although they did say it would take 1-1 1/2 hrs to complete) so be prepared. I walked to costco for some shopping. -Along with their standard oil change they do a courtesy check where they "look" for things to sell to you. Most of mine was scheduled maintenance, but they did point out that I did have a weak battery and some brake fluid that needs to be flushed. -Be specific with what your doing and do only whats cheap. They try to reel you in with the awesome oil change deals to try to convince you to get other services. Don't bother or unless its absolutely needs to be replaced, i'm sure you can get a better deal or at least look for a coupon to get your price cheaper. They wanted to replace my battery for 109$ for a Interstate MT 35. I drove the car to Sams club for the same battery installed for $61(costco nearby also sells batteries). Overall firestone seems solid and for oil changes it isn't bad. Good prices, using synethic blend as well as tire rotations and "courtesy Check" should help you keep on track with what your car needs. But if you need some major work be sure to shop around and split up the jobs to keep cost low. read more

Took my car here for tires and received great service. I appreciate their friendly attitude but was disappointed that they didn't offer transportation to help me get to work : ( Returned a few wks ago to take advantage of my lifetime tire rotation services and also request a diagnostic for an engine light that came on. They were able to diagnose for $100 but unable to repair the issue. It seems a little strange that they'd have the tools to diagnose the auto problem but no staff with the skill set to fix it... read more

I'm usually happy with Firestone, but not this time,I brought in my PT cruiser bc it was running hot,I changed the fan,the thermostat, and radiator cap,it still ran hot,I did a Google search and saw that other pt cruiser owners had the exact problem, all it needed was a radiator flush bc gunk would settle at the bottom of the the radiator,I told this to the people at the shop on 1414 dillingham, but they said they didn't have a master mechanic, and sent me to Firestone on fort shafter,so I towed the car there, they kept it overnight and told me that it "might" be a head gasket,I said,no,I believe it needs a radiator flush,I was dismissed as if I didn't know what I was talking about and was charged 88.00 to get my car back.. I found a back yard mechanic that helped me get my car to his place, worked on it,and BEHOLD,it just needed a radiator flush.... how 2 Firestone CERTIFIED MECHANICS missed this is beyond me,but I should be reimbursed that 88.00 read more

I asked them to replace my front disc brake pads and nothing else. It's been 2 hours and my vehicle is still on the lift with ALL 4 tires off. What do my rear tires have to do with my front disc brake pads? I continue to lose faith that these guys know what they're doing versus giving the service the customer ordered. Sadly, the front desk guy doesn't what's going on. read more

I went there for a brake replacement. They changed my brakes; then, a week later, they started to squeak really bad. I took it back to them, they said it was because I chose the cheap brake package and they could fix it if I upgraded to a more expensive package. I told them to go f*ck themselves. Here's the crazy thing. I went to another place and they told me that my brake caliper was bent like someone hit it with a hammer bent. Shady. Very, very shady. Don't go here. read more

Dont go here! They dont know what they are doing! Changed my tire here because air pressure was running low and they said a nail went in and I had to get new tires. Spent 350 dollars on getting one tire. The very next day, air pressure became low the in the middle of the street. I was soo worried tire was going to go out on me in the middle of the road because I had a baby with me the car. When I made it there with a super low tire pressure, they didnt even say sorry and said something was wrong with the sensor and they will fix it. However, the next day tire pressure became low again. WTH. They checked again and said there was a crack in the rim. Duh~ why wasnt this checked when I took in my car in the first place? What a waste of time and money! read more

I go to this place whenever i really can't find what's wrong with my car. I have a 2005 Ford Mustang and they have taken well care of it. They have fixed the AC, and it wasn't even that expensive. Fixed my tires which i got the lifetime warranty for rotation and alignment; pretty good deal, and of course the oil change whenever they have specials/offers. They are really professional people, always polite and will let you know if is going to take forever or it might be just a couple of hours. It works better if you call in advance and make an appointment that way you don't have to wait so long. read more

We were stuck, this was the closest repair shop. I knew what was wrong with the car but they diagnosed it and charged me twice as much for the part as it cost retail! That bummed me out. I asked them about it and they said they had no choice. It would have taken more time/ money to take it somewhere else so they had me stuck. They fixed the car within the time frame though I did have to keep calling to keep them on track and even to know when it was ready. Don't they want to get paid? That seems to be the case with every car repair place on the island however. In any case, the car is fixed, the location was convenient for us, so for now they're on my good list. read more

Need a tire? But it better not be urgent... you need to make an appointment in advance. Very friendly service and pretty decent prices here, but they are busy. I had to change two tires and went in to check the prices. $180 for two of the cheaper tires for my civic. It was cheaper than Costco and they had the tires in stock. Two other places had to put in an order for the tires. Cost wise: Anything less than 200 bucks at an auto shop is a relief for me! The only bummer is if you need tires urgently as they hada 2 day wait. But that's not too bad. I scheduled my appt for a Monday morning at 7am and my car was ready for pick up at 12. The work included install, rotation, and balancing and came out a little over 200 bucks. (A little higher than the quote since I agreed to pay for the balancing.) Overall happy with the service and price. I also appreciated the honest non-pushy service. read more

Took my car here for an oil change and new tires on two separate occasions. There are coupons on their website that you can definietly save you some bucks. They can get really busy, so you should make an appointment. But even with your appointment, you can wait a little over the time promised. (That's okay, b/c McDonald's is right there with air condition, and you can grab lunch/snack with free drink refills! And you can see when your car is finished just by looking out the window.) Anyway, when you pick up your car, they give you a receipt and a survey code at the bottom where you can save $10 on your next visit of $25 or more, but you must use it within 6 months. But sometimes, this isn't a great deal, as their web offers save you more money. I wish they would give more savings to returning loyal customers. But overall, the staff are friendly, service is good, prices are reasonable, and I have a great running car! read more

It was easy to make an on-line appointment for an oil change. It was easy to find the location and drop it off at 9 in the morning. It was nice to be able to change my status from "will wait for car" to "will pick up later". I really appreciated that because so many things had piled up throughout the week and I was going to check them all off my list that day. I thought things were going great for my first time at this Firestone (I had moved into town from Aiea). I did not appreciate being told that I would receive a phone call when my car was ready and not didn't getting one. I called 5 hours later to ask if my car was done and was given a "Yes, it's ready. We close at 'blah blah blah'" answer. No over-the-phone apology about forgetting to call me until I walked in to pick up my car. Who would have known if I would have received a call at all that day. I had driven through the area 2 and a half hours later and would have loved to pick up my car as I was passing by. Also, they put a sticker on the inside of your windshield reminding you when to come in (either a specific date or mileage). I got mine saying when I came in but they didn't put when I should come back in for a new oil change. I think I'll be going back to the one in Aiea. read more

Took my vehicle in to have rough idle low power looked at. First off it cost me $106 to hook up the scanner to tell me cylinder one had a bad plug/ coil pack. To make matters worse I then got quoted nearly $1200 to replace all of plugs and coil packs. when I looked over the invoice for the work what stood out to me was the spark plugs they wanted to get and install were $42 each!!! I had to ask him to repeat the cost yep $42 bucks apiece (I could not even find anywhere that one sparkplug costs $42) the coil packs were $494. this has got to be a joke? Nope it was not, nor was it funny. I ended up replacing everything for $120 sure it took a few hours but it was not hard. Bottom line this place is on a military base so one would think they would try to take care of service members the best they could. a $1300 repair is not doing that. Go elsewhere SHAMEFUL way to take advantage of service members. read more

My work Truck broke down on a Thursday and this Firestone is right near my house. So I knew this would be my best route to get my Truck fixed. I have a small landscaping company and I depend on my truck to earn a living. So I was hoping Firestone could fix it in a day. They were very helpful when I called. They recommended a great towing company that got my truck to Firestone within a hour and a half. From past experience this was quick. So they got my truck in and it was my fuel pump and that's exactly what I expected it to be. So they quoted me a price and said it would be done today. It was a little pricey, but if it gets me back to work that day or the next it's worth it. Now they call me back a few hours later and told me when they started the truck my water pump had a bad leak. Also I knew this too I had seen something was leaking that Morning but wasn't absolutely sure but I knew it would be a problem. So another pricey quote but it still will be ready the same day. AWESOME. So I pick my truck up that afternoon around 5 or 6 and go straight home and back in my driveway. The next morning I leave for work at 5:45am. I roll down my window and vent/ rain guard on my driver side window is broke. So I go to Firestone a little after 6 am in hopes someone will be there. To my surprise there is... Scott listened to me explain what had happened took a quick look and without question said if I buy new ones they'll reimburse me. So overall a Great experience. A little pricey but they fixed my truck in a very timely matter so that I could be back to work the next day. So that in itself was worth it to me.. read more
