My family and I have been coming here for YEARS and it's safe to say that they're losing they're touch. My car broke down Friday night and I wasn't able to get it towed 'till Saturday morning. I like that he was able to answer all my questions and give me genuine recommendations. It also helps that he used to be a mechanic, so that just makes him credible. I called ahead for help and Priscilla (?) was great over the phone so I came in over concerns about tire pressure. Once there I waited several minutes for help despite it being a slow day. There was a lady ahead of me and Priscilla spent a lot of time just shooting the s*** with her as I waited and waited and waited for help. After considerably more time passed, she asked what my issue was. I reminded her that I called about tire pressure and was directed back outside to move my car to the service area. The tech was efficient and professional. No problems there. He determined that there was an issue with my tire and advised me to go back inside to ask for a replacement tire. I go back inside. Priscilla is still making small talk with the same lady. I waited. And waited. And waited some more. After a while, she acknowledged me. I told her what l the tech said and I told her the tire was under warranty . She then tells me after, waiting 30 minutes to even check in, that they might be able to replace the tire in question in a few hours. Ridiculous. I left. I understand that I was a walk-in with no appointment but there's no justifiable reason why it took so long on a slow Tuesday just to tel me I'd have to wait hours for a tire change. I hadn't even checked in for the 30 minutes I was there. How long would it have taken to replace a tire? At a garage that specializes in tires lol? Won't return. read more

Furthermore, they inspected a screeching noise that was coming from my breaks. The team was able to fix it with no problem. My breaks no longer squeal! After 3 hrs I came to check on the progress and my car was still parked in the same spot I had left it. I understand that the shop is busy. But why am I even making an appt with a 3. I went in on 3/21 at 4pm with no appointment and the guy said the wait was 2 hours min so I asked him what about if I make an appointment how long would the wait be and he said an hour and a half max so I made an appointment for the next day at 4:30pm when I get there another guy tells me the wait is 2 hours and 45min min with an appointment what the heck with an appointment the time almost doubled!! Very slow service. Came a few weeks ago to changed all four tires. We had an appointment. Still took more than five hours. When it was done, it still took them a while to just give us the keys. Beware of this Firestone Complete Auto Care. I went into this establishment to purchase two Firestone tires, which were sold at a very competitive price, but I also got multiple sales pitches about work that was "needed" on my vehicle. I was told that my brakes were "metal to metal" when in fact, my front pads have 5mm left, and my rear shoes are at 2mm to 3mm. They are not anywhere near worn out. They also pitched multiple system flushes, most of which are not really needed. I was able to get out of there for just the tire replacements, but I wonder how many people are having unneeded work done. Beware. read more

Going in, I needed an oil change and also wanted to see if I needed new alignment for my car and two tires. I can visibly see why the front two tires needed to be repaired. I go in and I buy the oil change and also car care package that fully inspects whats going on in my car. Mind you, I have a 2017 honda accord with only 22,000 miles. This worker named, Olmes assisted me and said he will call me back after they look at what is going wrong. I go home and about 2 hours later they say that I def. need an alignment and that I needed the two tires. He said the total will come out to around 800 dollars with service. I was pretty shocked about the price and then said I will just get the oil change. When I come back, he was so rude. He didn't tell me what was wrong with the car and just said that I needed an alignment. The next day I go to another auto repair store and after looking at the car and doing some inspection, they said my car didn't need an alignment and just the two tires that came out to 200 dollars even. I later call the firestone store and the manager picks up. I verbalize my frustration and that this is why auto repair shops get such a bad rep. They try to swallow your money and esp during these hard times. I was so upset and am looking out for other people. Guys do your research and go to multiple auto repair shops. Just don't go to this one. This man Olmes really needs to get retrained on basic human customer service and decency. read more

So today I called this location because I needed a battery for my vehicle. My battery was dead and I needed help and figured since they were located in the same mall plaza where I work that it would be an easy thing to resolve. They place me on hold for over 10 minutes and when I explain my situation they say I can only be helped if I bring it in "right now" (my battery was dead) how can I bring it in immediately? Then they said if I brought it in any later they would not be able to help me today. Unbelievable! No intent to help a customer in need. A lack of empathy! Then I decided to call sears auto which is also in the same mall and not only did they say yes, and offered to help me; they were kind enough to call mall security to go to my location and jumpstart my vehicle so I can drive it to their shop. This place is clean and convenient. I was very impressed by the service both times I was there. This last time, Chris, was my point person and he was fantastic; very professional, knew his stuff, and kept me informed. There was an issue with my car when I got it back (service engine light was on), which was fixed 2 weeks prior at the Firestone in Cerritos, but they took care of it right away under warrantee and gave me a free oil change for next time. Your management/service has gone down since Chris left, the new manager is too busy chatting with coworkers and unable to multitask making customers wait way longer than necessary. I have been a customer at Downey firestone since 1986 when I purchased my first car have always recommended them to everyone but over the past 2 years I have had a change of heart and they are no longer going to be my mechanic or my sons, brothers, fiancé, mother, mother in law and best friend. They try and have you purchase things unnecessarily such as custom lugnuts they claim are stripped 2 years ago that were checked by the dealership and said they are fine still to this day, stating a cabin filter needed to be replaced when it was replaced 3 weeks prior, had new brakes put on there and when I complained they were squeaking they stated I needed new rotors took the car to the dealership no new rotors needed only new brake pads as they use the lowest quality product on the cars and charge higher prices. I could go on and on but this last visit will be our last to Downey Firestone. read more

I told them that I have to be at work and they did not care. No apologies from the people there and they tried to reason out. I called looking for a set of Indy 500s for my WRX and they had a set of 4 in stock I picked them up today and Juan was very helpful 1 man was taking care of the whole front. I was able to get a good deal on a promotion they had. I did not install them there but the buying process was very easy and fast. She was out and the guy that took my information said she would call. One week later no call. I called again and left a message and still a month later no call. Horrible I had an appointment for 1130am it's going on 100pm for an oil change. They told me it'd be an hour. I walked around the stone wood mall came back and my car hasn't even been moved. I've done walk ins here with no appointment and have been in and out way quicker than this bs. When asked the employees answer was just a simple mmhm well we appreciate you allowing us more time. Do not trust this Auto Care with your Vehicle. I made the mistake of trusting them. I took my vehicle in for an all wheel alignment. I purchased the lifetime all wheel alignment. When I drove my vehicle away, the problem persisted, my vehicle continued to go to one side on its own. I posted my first experience in a review, soon the Manager contacted me to bring my car in again so they could properly do it for a second time. In this second visit the manager informed me that a bolt had broken while they tried to take it apart, he told me to be at ease and he would replace the broken bolt for free due to the trouble of me having to come back a second time. It turns out he never changed it and just put the broken bolt back on my wheel. This could have cost me my life and the manager promised me he would change it. He lied to me by making me believe Firestone would take care of this issue and by putting my life at risk. I hope this Auto Care goes out of business before they put another person's life in danger. To be honest the woman in front her name was Priscilla was amazing. I got the last appointment of the day. I sat in and waited for my cars oil change. She was such a breath of fresh air , since I work retail and since covid people have become so impatient and savage. She was a multitasker, kept her same energy even though she was nonstop front the time I walked in till I left. We need a lot more Priscilla's in this world. I have been a customer since 2004 in three states. I visited the Downey Ca shop on 04/24/20 to address a nail on my front left tire.  The tech found 4 more nails. Three on the front right and one on a rear tire.  And even though I had insurance on all tires, they gave me all the reasons why they couldn't fix them.  My rear tires were worn down significantly. I admit, but the front tires had plenty of thread. The service advisor was trying really hard to sell me tires. No tires no service.  A friend of mine recommended American Tires.  He said they fix flats for free. I called and they booked me on that day. They had no problem repairing the front tires. The rear ones were too worn out and I agreed. Turns out the nails in the front tires did not penerate thru so patching a flat was not necessary. I appreciated the effort they made so I purchased two continental tires to replace the two Bridgestone tires in the rear. I usually get good service but if Firestone doesn't want my business I'll be happy to go elsewhere. read more

Why doesn't Yelp allow negative reviews?! This place is a complete joke. This is the second time I've visited this location where I'm made to feel as if they're doing me a favor for even talking to me. They don't show respect nor have any respect for their customer's time. The first time I came here with a flat & was told that they couldn't help me, that they were short staffed & couldn't help me until 5 hours!! A few days ago I made and confirmed an appointment online only to be told that they didn't see any appointment on their system. Nevertheless they told me they could provide an oil change but it would take 3 hours! I decided to leave my car (terrible mistake) & confirmed that my car would be ready in 3 hours. 4 hours later I show up to pick my car up only to find that they never performed the oil change! I received no apology nor any offer to rectify the situation. I've visited another Firestone location in Huntington Park and at least the staff there is friendly. Please save your money and time and go elsewhere. Pretty unprofessional business! Ugh! (I'm currently at Valvoline on Firestone & they finished the oil change in 15 minutes). Brought my Navigator car in for a air suspension conversion to struts. Was told this is a very common service plus alignment. Would be ready same day. Happy canceled my dinner appointment because I needed to get my car before they closed. Received a phone call 15 min before pick up that it would be ready tomorrow. Fine. The next day comes and they said the afternoon it would be ready. Ok I call at 4pm they said 6:30pm. So at 5:45pm get a phone call it won't be ready till next day at 10am. Get here at 10:30am and car hasn't gone on test drive Still waiting past 11:00am. I want to drive In a safe car so I have no other option but wait a little bit longer. Their lack of communication has caused a lot of inconvenience for me. Asking neighbor for ride to pick up my car canceling my plans when I could have just rented a car for 1-2 days. They told me I need to get over 4K of services So I'm hoping my Navigator wasn't tampered with. Ugh read more

Total ripoff! For brakes under warranty they charge $120 each service on top of $100+ per wheel at the first visit. I can get an entire brake service from Allen Tire (light years better service!) without the guise of this warranty crap that just tries to lock you in. They scratched my car!!!! Worst experience ever!! My husband took our car in for full service inspection and an oil change. We called ahead gave them the make, model and year of the car and made an appointment. Even with the appointment he had to wait for over an hour. When they finally went to service the car they decided it was too much of a hassle to do the full inspection and could only do the oil change. Once the service was done the returned the car with FRESH SCRATCHES on both sides of the car!!!!
