I have been coming to Allen Tire Company for about eight years, but unfortunately this experience will be my last. I called ahead and spoke with Anthony to ask how long an oil change would take. He told me about 15 minutes. I arrived 14 minutes later and was helped by Mike. He immediately told me it would take two and a half hours just to get to my car because another customer ahead of me needed four tires and a wheel alignment. Anthony stepped in and explained that my request was just a simple oil change and suggested they could have a technician from the back complete it while he went to pick up the tires for the other customer. Mike refused. Anthony again tried to find a solution and explained that my car could be done without me waiting two and a half hours (they close in an hour and a half, unsure who I could even possible be seen today if that's the case). Mike then turned to me and said it would be two hours before they would even start on my car. At that point, no, I'm OK. Anthony apologized but Mike said nothing. Anthony clearly tried to help and find a solution and for him, I would give 5 stars. He's not the manager but clearly knows how to run a business. On the other hand, Mike's attitude and refusal to accommodate a very simple service completely changed how I view this business. The previous manager (who was there for decades) always made customers feel welcome and never turned me away. Because of Mike's actions today, I will never return. read more

Service here was fast and amazing!! Got a flat tire on the way to work and was panicking because I was far from home and don't know the area that well. The manager and his mechanic took care of my tire as soon as I got there. They showed me the cause of the flat, told me they could probably repair it, but worst case scenario they could get a new tire for me today. Sometimes tesla tires are not in stock so that was a relief. Fortunately they were able to repair my tire, so they saved not only my tire but also my wallet, and I was on my way to work in no time. I went here because the one located on Woodruff and Carson did not have the right machine to do my alignment on my Lexus IS they referred me to go to the Downey location. I did have to wait quite a bit about an hour and a half but they were able to help me as a walk-in and also gave me a discount because I waited so long they have the right machine to do lower cars alignments on the tires. Where to begin! My boyfriend paid for a oil change with tire rotation through Groupon at Allen Tire Company on Woodruff in Downey and he works all day so on my day off he asked me to take his car in for him to get those done. I came in on Tuesday 07/29/25 and the old man at the front desk, who is the manager, I believe his name is Mike, said it's by appointment only so I set an appointment for the next day 10am for drop-off with a "2-3 hour leeway" verbatim. I show up and greet the same manager and he greets me and I let him know I have an appointment at 10am for oil change and tire rotation, he gives me a confused look which already bothered me because mind you HE set my appointment not even 24 hours prior and I let him know he's the one who set my appointment. He then lets me know it's for drop off and 2-3 hour wait which was fine since he expressed this to me yesterday so I was prepared. He then asks me if I wanted further inspections in the car and I said it's "my boyfriend's car so I'm sure he would want to be there in case further things came up". I wasn't going to okay something for a car that is not my own and the second I said that, In my eyes he seemed to get condescending with me. He proceeded to say "without inspection I won't be able to do the tire rotation only oil change" and I was already annoyed and responded with "what is being paid for then since the Groupon includes tire rotation" and he rolled his eyes and he said the inspection includes tire inspection which if he can't inspect the tires he can't do the rotation in case their bald, I didn't mind what he said obviously his job is to let me know it's the manner in which he spoke to me which was extremely condescending and off-putting. I don't know anything about cars or what's involved with an inspection, I assumed if tire rotation is paid for it automatically includes being inspected to see if it can be done or not but he spoke to me as if It bothered him that I questioned about what is being paid for because he said "without the inspection the tires cannot be rotated". I lost my patience immediately and let him know to not speak to me as if I am stupid and that he needs to learn how to talk to people. I expressed the obvious twice that these are services being paid for not given away and he replied with "you said that already" . obviously I don't deal with car things everyday so he could be more patient In how he explains things and that my boyfriend from what I knew had his tires changed a month or two back and he said "well you did not tell me that". The man did not bother to ask me and again I do not know if it is something he needs to know or not, I am not a mechanic or work for an auto shop. He just sat back with a smirk and literally folded his arms. THEN to make matters more annoying he proceeds to get petty and tell me closing is at 6 and they have until then to give me the car, I said "I thought you told me it is a 2-3 hour leeway" and he said "approximately" which was not what he said yesterday. Saved my life after Costco down the street said they needed 5 hours to just patch my tire (I'm from out of town) Anyhow, really good customer service, they're chill and took care of my issue in like 20 minutes. Took my car in for tire service . When I picked up my car they messed up my driverseat where the hinges came off. Jose right of the back said we don't know anything abt that. When my seat was moved all the way back for the person who serviced my car drove it in the shop . Allen's tire shop denied any wrong doing. I wish I hadn't purchased the warranty there cuz I ddnt like the service I received. Oh & they were selling me old tires instead of new tires like we requested. They were already expired & one front tire had a flat bottom instead of being round. Had to go back & request fairly newer tires no later than few months old. I came in the other day to just seek a quote for a new set of 4 tires. Tyler G was the one helping me and from the beginning he was straight forward and provided the quotes and out the door estimate. I was not planning to get them done on the same day butt experience from the start was smooth sailing. The guys were willing to take my car that day so I could be on my way. During the tire swap, they pointed out I needed new rear shocks and explained why it was necessary. Tyler didn't pressure me to purchase the shocks he provided additional quotes for that and it was still very reasonable knowing how much a pair can range from. Tyler went the extra mile by making a phone call and getting a set of rear shocks over that evening. The next day I was able to pick up my vehicle and already felt the difference. Overall, the guys working Friday afternoon were all friendly and helpful. My interactions with Tyler sold me on making Allen Tire Co my spot for future tires and car needs. Thank you Allen tire!! First of all, they're closed later than every other tire shop which was sooooo freakin helpful when my AAA lagged and I was feeling hopeless in getting back home with no tire. Not even just that but the fact they made a comment they would be kind enough to wait a couple minutes after closing time if they really needed to help a client. If I could leave a 0 star review I would, I came into this location with two groupons that I had just purchased for two oil changes. When I arrived there was only one other car that workers were working on, after going inside and telling the front desk employee that we came into to redeem our groupons, the manager came out and immediately told us it's by appointment only. We were surprised because on groupon it was advertised as no appointment needed. The manager was condescending and said that he also couldn't do an oil change on one of our cars because it was "too low" something that was not mentioned on the groupon advertisement either. Unfortunately the vouchers were final sale so we had to figure out a way to use them. He told us that the soonest appointment was next week, mind you there was only one car they were working on and it was 3pm on a Friday. He said they were "too busy" at the moment and that he didn't have enough workers to do an oil change right now. He said he had to give priority to his tire appointments because they are a tire shop not an oil change place like Jiffy Lube or Valvoline. We decided to book an appointment for one of our cars on the following weekend but he said it would be drop off only as it could take hours. In the end we left and called another location where they were much kinder and booked us an appointment for next day for BOTH of our cars despite one being "low". I definitely DO NOT recommend this place if you are thinking of buying a groupon voucher as the manager here is rude, condescending, and has a terrible attitude and tone when dealing with customers. read more

I got off work early and needed an oil change, I walked in 7/17 around 11am/12pm the old man at the front desk was already annoyed from me walking in which already made me feel uncomfortable and clearly unwanted. He said there's a very long wait, they can't see me til next week because they have a bunch of "high end cars" he specifically kept pointing out that they work on fancy cars and big trucks and made me feel as if my little Honda was so much less than. Mind you, I came in with a Groupon for an oil change and he again made me feel "unworthy". I already paid for it or else I would have left right then. I would have definitely understood them being busy as I just so happen to get off work early so I was testing my luck. It was all the unnecessary comments and rude behavior he gave off that I did not like. He eventually made me an APPOINTMENT for Sunday at 10am. Perfect. I left, I arrived with my daughter right before 10am. Same old man at the front desk, I'm standing there for at least 10/15 mins while he's flirting with a pretty girl in heels ahead of us and couldn't even acknowledge us to say "hi, ill be right with you" NOTHING. Then he finally finishes with the lady and goes outside and starts talking to a man who just pulled up. Again, not saying one word to us. I have been in customer service for a very long time and never ever is this acceptable. Finally he finishes with this man and finally asks "how can I help you" I let him know I have an oil change appt at 10. He says "ok it's for drop off and should be done by 2" ABSOLUTELY NOT. Now I'm very upset because you made me an APPOINTMENT. If this was to be Drop off then he should have told me that when he made me the appt. He mentions someone called out. Again, this is not my problem. You made an appt for me at 10am, he should honor that appt. That should be priority for the appt time. If that was something he knew he couldn't fulfill then he should be respectful and apologize and offer to reschedule due to their lack of scheduling. I'm a nurse so I understand that shit happens, but this was unacceptable behavior from my first encounter to the last. I will never be going to this place again and now I am out that money because I refuse to go there even though I have already paid for it. To me, he was taking advantage of how patient I was being and again, making me feel so low and unworthy like I was nothing compared to the "high end" people walking in. That was disgusting behavior and i would never let my customers or patients ever feel that way. I am so disappointed. read more
