I made an appointment the day previous to have my tire repaired so I could reduce the wait time. I told the person over the phone that I had plugged it in the tread area for now to slow the leak. I show up the next morning on time and the guy tells me minimum 2 hours. Wow, ok so 1.5 hours in the guy tells me sorry because you plugged it we can't fix it. Waisted 2 hours of my day. Then the guy tries to sell me tires...no thanks. So I called Led Schwab and they said they could fix it for free in an hour. Horrible service!! I went to get a tire replaced on my car. I arrived around 430. Left the building somewhere around 545 after seeing my car has yet to be pulled into a bay. When I arrive back around 645 I get told that my car had a leak on the bead and that they fixed it for me. But I should look into getting a new tire. ??????? Wait what!?!? That's why I came in here in the first place. I ended up leaving 15 after closing time WITHOUT A TIRE and was locked out of the lobby to wait for my car outside. What a joke. I made an online appointment for a simple tire rotation. Confirmed for Monday at 9 am. Service writer was rude and claimed it was for Tuesday. I showed him the email confirmation for Monday. Got some BS story that he never confirmed it....only has one tech around today and 3 other jobs at 9 am today. I will never purchase anything from Firestone again. If I get a flat tire in front of a Firestone I will push the car to a competitor. The Covington Firestone can close even faster than it opened and nobody would miss it. Maybe they could turn it into a car wash. I had my vehicle towed into them on Saturday before 1p.m., and was led to believe my vehicle should be seen on Sunday. Nobody called me on Sunday so I called and they said not until Monday. Monday came nobody called so again I called them. They said the master tech couldn't see it until Thursday, so I explained I got the vehicle towed to them on Saturday. The tech took a listen to an engine that wouldn't start, didn't have time for a full diagnostic but would do one on Thursday. I was told he thought from just listening to it it sounded like a timing belt. I explained I just had the timing belt done, that seemed to shock them. On Thursday I was told that it was my fuel pump modulator and that it would be $3000 to replace, that sounded outrages to me so I said to hold on the repairs. I did a lot of research and looking around and found out that was way to high. I called back, but then was told it would only be $1300 or so. I ok'd the work to be done at that point but then got another quote, saying there was an issue and i would have to pay close to $2000. After that I started calling around, including the dealership and found out it could be done for less than $1000 at most places and a few were under $800. So I decided to have my vehicle towed to another location. But right as I got the towing worked out I received yet another price quote of around $1400. At this point I let them know a tow was on the way and asked to pay my bill over the phone. I was then told they no longer excepted payment over the phone an I would have to be there in person to pay it. When I got there they didn't even know which keys were mine or were my keys were. I was told (after the key fiasco) I couldn't have my car towed because the hood was up. Then someone tried to start my car(after someone put the hood down) and repeatedly turned and held the key trying to start my non-starting car until a female employee, returning from lunch, stopped them. read more

Show up and am told 2 hours to do this, currently at 2.5 hrs and it's just getting on the alignment rack. Got my alignment done, turned out pretty bad. I came in to get it rechecked because my car started squeaking. they ended up saying my frame was cracked and they couldn't do it. Took me 10 minutes under the car to find out what it was. One of the steering components was too tight. They didn't even bother to look under my car!!! Automatically assumed my frame was cracked???? I love Firestone and have used several different locations around the country actually. This location is not good. The first red flag I encountered here was when my car would randomly not start. I took it in to see what might have been the issue and they "found nothing wrong" after keeping it for a few days and trying to start it twice a day. Ok. More recently I took my car into this location because my preferred location was closed due to COVID. I needed one of my turn signals replaced because it had begun to click at a quicker pace than the other. The mechanic told me the increased signaling speed was "just a quirk" and that the bulb did not need to be replaced. I got home to see that the bulb was out. I will always be a Firestone customer based off excellent service from other locations, but the staff at the Covington location does not take customers seriously, communicates poorly and with way too much sass, and seemingly does not take the time or care enough about their jobs to provide even average service. I'm extremely disappointed after giving them multiple chances. read more

This is literally the worst Firestone location I have ever been to. After a horrible experience here several years ago, I started taking my cars to another location. Recently, I heard the service manager who was the source of so many people's problems at Covington Firestone had left and I thought I'd give them a second chance. Big mistake. I made an appointment for 8am earlier in the week and dropped my truck off early this morning for an oil change, brake inspection and tire inspection, fully expecting to spend $1500-2000 in repairs. Hey, my truck has 60,000 miles on it and it was due. At the time I dropped off, there were two vehicles in the shop and none in the parking lot. I was asked if I needed to pick up my vehicle at any particular time and I specified that it had to be done by the end of the day. That gave them 11 hours. At 3pm I started to get concerned that I hadn't heard the results of the brake and tire inspections. I gave them a call and discovered my truck had been sitting untouched for 7 hours. Unbelievable. I express my concern to the employee on the phone. He clearly didn't care. They were busy. I asked about my appointment. He didn't even respond. I had my wife drive me back down and took my keys back. And they still didn't care. Day wasted. Avoid this Firestone at all costs. They ignore appointments, they lie (previous experience), and they clearly don't care about their customers. After this experience, I will not be returning to the other Firestone location where I used to take my cars. I'm done. I'll be going somewhere else from now on. My husband and I had an unexpected flat tire and this was the closest place we could get to from where we were. Adrian was great! I was hesitant about getting my tires anywhere else but Costco because that's where we have always gone but the service and price was so much better! This was my first visit to Firestone, and based on my initial impression I would not recommend using them for any service, aside from the lifetime alignment, which is a decent value if you plan to keep your vehicle for a long time. I arrived at 3 PM for a scheduled appointment for an alignment, and was told that the car before me was having problems getting aligned and was still on the rack. I asked how much longer it would be. I was not given a specific answer, simply that they can "take a long time to get right if a vehicle has been lowered or lifted". After a 30 minute wait, I was told that they were pulling my car in. Not a big deal. My alignment seemed to take all of 10 minutes before I saw it being pulled out of the shop. I thought it was awfully quick, but assumed it wasn't that far off to begin with. It came time to pay, and my total was more than expected. I asked why the cost was so much more than anticipated, and was told there was tax and "shop fees". When I asked what the shop fees were for, and where it's stated that there will be an additional charge. I was informed it was for "rags and things" and the clerk pointed at a sign posted in the lobby which had very fine print. Needless to say I was irritated, but paid. I also found it odd that I did not receive an invoice to review charges until after the payment was processed. I'm sure it could have been provided had I asked, but feel this is done by the company specifically to conceal charges like this. In addition, no "complementary safety check" was provided. I was given a blank sheet attached to my alignment measurements with everything they would have checked. They also indicated my windshield was cracked, which it is not. In fact, it was just replaced. They also advertise that the vehicle will be road tested after an alignment. It was driven straight to a parking stall. Does that count? After doing more research when I left, I found that they do list a 6% charge on every invoice over $35 for "shop fees" up to a maximum of $25. I found this in the fine print on a coupon I had, of all places. Not transparent about charges at all. I was contacted by the shop manager (presumably) Dan. He apologized that they missed the courtesy check and that they would be happy to complete it if I come back in, and give me a free oil change as well. I told him based on my experience I would not trust my vehicle to get an oil change at his shop. He laughed, and told me they "do about 50,000 oil changes a day". I explained that I had overheard someone in the shop ask if a vehicle had oil in it. He said yes, they were just making sure before they drove out. To me, it's a red flag, maybe a mistake was made in the past and now they have to double check every car. read more

If I could rate this place with zero stars, I would. Firestone in Covington is a crappy place with crappy people who look at your car, try to charge you more than agreed on, turn a $320.97 job into a $874.92 job, and refuse to do the MINOR repairs they said they'd do because you don't want the extra services. The plan was to get my brake pads and rotors changed. I looked over everything before agreeing to it and told them before I left that that was ALL I wanted done. I said I didn't want any preventive maintenance done. They said that was fine and they would take care of it. I left my car in their care. The guy called me saying I wasn't required to get my calipers fixed but that he recommended it. I told him that wasn't currently in the budget and to please do the work he already said they would do. I also told him I would just get those fixed later if they really needed it. He said that was fine. He then calls me back and tells me that I should sign up for their credit card. I said no thank you. He told me that the calipers were so bad, that it was impossible to push them back in and I had no choice but to pay the extra and have them fix it. So suddenly a caliper problem that "could wait" turned into "if you don't get it done your car will start smoking and you'll just come right back here." At this point I knew something was fishy. I said "please put my car back together and do NOT touch anything aside from the brake pads and rotors." So suddenly his story changes: "Okay well if you don't want us to do the extra work then we're not doing any of it. Unfortunately we will not be fixing your car today." I reminded him that he already said they would do the work they promised, even if I refused to have additional work done. He then replied, "yeahhh, no." So I go pick up my car and they were cold and hostile with me. And guess what? The guy who said it was impossible to get the calipers put back into place put them back just fine. They said I had NO CHOICE because they wouldn't go back in. Hello, I'm not an idiot. My awesome Uncle who has worked on cars for a long time came over, looked at my car, and guess what? Nothing wrong with my calipers AT ALL. Now my car is fixed and I'm a happy girl! So a big thumbs down to Firestone "complete auto care" (BS) for being scheming, lying assholes trying to take advantage of a young girl. read more

As I suspected, my drive belt was perfectly fine. Jiffy Lube took a look at it while they changed my oil and didn't find any "cracks" in the drive bet and everything was perfectly fine. They mentioned it was a tiny bit loose but did not have continuous cracks which would have required a replacement. Despite beating a competitor's price for 4 new tires, I don't appreciate being told that something needs repair when it doesn't just to get more $$$ out of a customer. Tip: If you're having your vehicle serviced here, do not walk away or sit in the lobby, Watch the technicians do their job and ask questions. My oil gauge was getting erratic; often acting perfectly fine, other times warning me of low or no oil pressure - but the oil level was fine. This is a problem I've faced before on another car - replacing the oil pressure sending unit fixed things. My Father made an appointment the day before for Alignment, his appointment was scheduled for 11am we dropped off his car before 10 am cause we had to run some other errands and left my number for them to give us a call back once they are done. Time went by no calls nothing so I assumed they just forgot to give us a call and I let that go. They closed at 6pm that day, we came in at 5:30pm to pick up his car assuming they would be done since they had so much time to get it done since we dropped it off many hours before our appointment. We walk in and there is a man sitting by the computer sees us entering and goes back to the computer we stood there for atleast 5 mins until he came up to us to tell us they just took his car to get the Alignment checked... I was shocked. We had to wait another 30 mins for them to get that checked. I just had the most unbelievably bad experience at this location, with the manager. I made an appointment for an oil change and "tire rotation". I dropped my car off for said appointment and was told it would take 1 to 1 1/2 hours max to complete. I stated I was walking to Kohls and would be back to wait in lobby. I returned to the lobby an hour later and proceeded to wait. I watched nearly the entire episode of Dr. Phil an started getting a little agitated because I could see my car and see the technician laughing, joking with the other people and not tending to my car. At an hour and 52 minutes into this oil change and tire rotation I asked the gentleman at the counter, who claimed to be the manager, how long an oil change/tire rotation should take. He said, "oh but you asked for a rotation and balance and that takes longer". I told him I did not even know what a balance was and did NOT ask for that. He was so condescending and couldn't believe I didn't know what a balance was and that they wouldn't have done it if i didn't ask for it. I told him I just wanted my car done and for them to stop screwing around and that I'd been there an hour and have watched what is going on. He said, "I watched you walk in 15 minutes ago". I said "Bullshit". Are you kidding me. I'm 52 years old and this "manager" is accusing me of lying. Regardless, I was quoted 1.5 hours and this was pushing 2. He was such a JERK!!!! I will NEVER go back and would caution anyone against it as well. He told the technician to get my car done and backed out so I could leave. The kid didn't even know how to reset my oil light and had to get someone else to help him. Scary. Hope my wheels don't fall off. 1st time: Called to get a reservation to get a simple oil change. Reservation was set for early morning so I could pick up my children to get them to where they needed to go. Brought my truck in and asked how long it would take and was told 2 hours. Walked back after 2.5 hours and truck was still in parking lot and all bays were open except 2. Result: All kids missed their events, but got a free oil change and they apologized up and down. 2nd time: My truck was squeaking and grinding when I applied the brakes so I brought my truck in to inspect the brakes and I also bought 2 new tires while I was there because I was going on a long trip. I was told my brakes were fine, they just needed cleaned and a brake flush. Both new tires were put on but the lug covers were thrown in the back of my truck and brakes still squeaked and grinded. Was told it would be a week before I could bring it back in! 3rd time: Brought my truck in 2 weeks later for brake inspection at reserved time. 24 hours later, no call so I called them. Was told I needed a full front end brake replacement at $727.92 (that's after giving me breaks for bad service) And the front office guy said he called me. Not one message on my phone. Oh I forgot another time. I got a flat while driving in the mountains. Called my Aunt to pick up a back up rim at my house and get a new tire put on it. Firestone said they could not do it for her. This is bar far the worst Firestone I have ever been to. I've made 3 appointments with this location. Everytime they tell me no appointment was made. They will tell me over the phone what I need done will only take 45 minutes. When I get to the store they've told me it will take 2 hours or 2.5 hours. I know it does not take 2 hours to balance 4 tires and rotate them. I've been lied to on numerous occasions, and because everything has already been paid for and is warrantied they put me last because they aren't getting any money from it. This isn't the first Firestone location that has treated me with disrespect, I love the company, they have good products and solid work. Finally, I got a great alignment from a Firestone. I have a late year BMW that always seems to be out of alignment. I took it to several Firestone locations, but the car never felt connected to the road properly even from the dealership I had to take it back to fix one time. Finally, I changed my control arms (@50kmi) and had it aligned at the Rainier location who still told me I had damage on my front right suspension. They left my steering wheel off-center so I later made an appointment at Covington to fix. The Covington location has the newest alignment rack that keeps the suspension compressed when they align your car. For newer BMW's I believe this must be the trick and finally my car feels like BMW again. They also got everything in-spec and didn't try and tell me I have damage when that's not possible because of the parts I literally just replaced. -1 star for previously making me wait hours when I had an appt. I got a flat after a truck lost its retread tire. I hit the tread that was scattered all over the road. Firestone was able to get me in and out in just over 2 hours, without an appointment. The mechanic was fast, most of the waiting was on the sales guy to come back and report the tires details. 1 hour wait for car tire to get looked at, 20 min to remove the tire, 30 min wait for sales guy, and 10 min to put it back on. Update: after messing up again for the third time Firestone Corporation finally stepped in. They not only made up for lost time, but also spoiled me. They replaced my wheel bearings, and gave me new wipers, and fixed a loose bolt. I gave them 3/5 because of all the headaches. One word "horrible" I bought two tires from them. I asked if my new tires could be in the back (it's also company policy) and my back old ones be in the front (their only 3 months old) and they said yes. Also I asked if they could also Check the wheel bearing because the tires are already off and if they needed to be replaced I would let them. I asked them this four times and they said they would. I was there for four hours even tho they said it would take an hour and half max with an appointment which I had. I wasn't too upset, except I missed work because I was already over an hour late now, but my boss understood. Long story short they put my new tires in the front and didn't check the wheel bearings, they didn't put enough air in the front right tire, and my front right tire isn't feeling right it shakes, they also didn't do an alignment check. I came in the next day told the manager but they were busy and so i made an appointment for Tuesday the manager made everything right and I was happy and I reassured it would only take 90 minutes he said yes and I was once again happy so I ended up asking for a new air filter and everything. So I came in today(Tuesday) 20 minutes early (9:40am) and I told them to call me when it's ready because my friend and I went shopping I came back a little over two and a half hours later after my appointment was supposed to start and they haven't been touched it (even though four mechanics were on break the other two were joking around) and I had work in an hour and so I asked how long would I t take and the assistant manger said 3-4 hours and I had to keep my cool and I responded " so it would take 7-8 hours total just to get my tires rotated and my wheel bearings checked and an alignment test" he's said "yes" so I had to reschedule AGAIN so six hours of waiting to have my tires installed correctly and the job isn't still done. Before today the manger also said if I needed an alignment (worth $80) it would be free but I missed a seven hour shift so that's $105 in lost wages plus waiting today. I would have been able to pay for an alignment test and still have money in my pocket. I'm frustrated with the whole situation I have another appointment with them tomorrow now to have everything fixed but it will be another three hours they said so all in all if they do the job on time tomorrow correctly, it would be a total of 10 hours to get two new tires on my car. With a loss of $135 because I have to come into work late and skip my math class today and missed work the other day, plus gas wasted going to Covington and back three times from Hobart is a total of $150 lost in total, this is unacceptable. My family is done doing business with them we are more than disappointed they lost five customers in my family and we're telling all of our friends and family, making sure that no one we know will go there. read more

I live down the street from this Firestone and and have used it several times for low air in my tires. Great staff, always helpful. What I really like is that they answer whatever questions you have, and will elaborate as needed. This helps build trust. Last summer they were awesome, when my daughter ran over what seemed like at least 100 nails. The low pressure warning went off, and we headed straight down the street to Firestone. Honestly, the tire looked like it had been attacked by a metal porcupine. Firestone was very nice as they explained the extent of the damage from the nails, and why we needed to replace the tire instead of patching it. All around great service every time! read more

My husband took his vehicle to have the oil changed on a Friday. He made an appointment and dropped the car off at 8am. We left and waited for a phone call which they said they would give once the car was ready. At 3pm, concerned that we had not received a call, my husband called Firestone. He was told they had not looked at the car but would shortly. What is there to "look" at. The car was there for an oil change. Also being in the automotive industry my husband was patient and requested a call when the oil change was complete. At 4:45 Firestone called. We went and picked it up. On his drive home my husband's foot slipped off the clutch because there was grease all over it. The steering wheel was also smeared with grease. We returned the next day for my vehicle to have an oil change since I had made that appointment a week earlier. My husband told the counter person about the grease and I stressed the fact that I did not want my vehicle returned in the same condition. The counter clerk appeared a bit put off by my "reminder" to return my car clean. He then addressed the technician who had worked on my husband's vehicle and returned to tell us that the tech would meet us at the car to clean the grease. It was very evident that the technician was not happy about having to do this and errantly sprayed glass cleaner and wiped the areas down while we waited in the pouring rain. After he finished my husband thanked him and we got into the car. It was then I noticed it reeked of petroleum. When we got home we saw that the floor mat on the driver's side has greasy foot prints on it. As for my car I dropped it off at 9am as per my appointment. Once again no phone call to let me know it was finished. At about 1pm my husband called Firestone and was told they had not looked at it yet! What is the purpose of an appointment if you are pushed to the end of the day. Finally at 5pm they called. We picked up my car and again I noticed a petroleum smell. The next day I pulled my driver's side mat and found greasy foot prints on it. I cleaned it and that took care of the smell. My husband had his car detailed and that removed the smell also. I would caution against going to this Firestone location if you don't want to wait all day and have greasy foot prints on your mats and grease on you control pedals and steering wheel. Totally a bad experience for us. They simply do not take care to not dirty customer cars. Paper mats should be used but are evidently not used. Making appointments is useless unless you plan on leaving your car there from open to close. The entire two day experience was unacceptable. I warned my son not to take his car there! It is a shame because we used to come here regularly before we bought new cars. Now that the warranty has expired we thought we'd take our cars here again. Big, big mistake. read more

Absolutely horrible experiences, purchased tires for my wife's car they had car for three days and did NOT even balance the tires, car shakes when we get over 65mph and the best they could do is a apt in two to three days, not to mention guy chucked thought it was funny and was rude on phone, this is second complete waste of time, took my Jeep there for a alignment and steering wheel was 90 degrees off and way toed out, could tell wothbtape measure, went to another tire shop and looked at alignment machine and Jeep wasn't drive able, do not spend your hard earned money here place is a sham!!!!!!! read more
