I had a sudden flat tire while driving along Hwy 509 this morning, after attempting to inflate up to 36 psi (my portable inflator ran out of charge), the tire pressure went back down to 25 psi in red alert! I decided to call AAA for emergency towing to Les Schwab of Covington where my tires were purchased, I called-in and talked to Kyle, without further question as I have informed about flat tire and coming in, he let me know to bring my car in! Everyone was accommodating and gave a satisfactory service from Grant (front desk) to Easton. I believe, it only took more or less an hour to take care of the issue! Totally different from Costco, I used to be a loyal tire department customer being a member since 1997! Now, with my husband's prodding of trying Les Schwab after frustrating experiences with Costco Tire Center Customer Service, such as: not honoring their warranty as they seem to add unwritten policy; requiring to purchase four sets of tires every time one tire is busted, again, with unwritten policy Tesla requirements quo, even though Tesla staffers specifically said that even one tire is replaceable not all tires!; Having to wait days of loss income as their facility is small to stock most tires; Limited bays to take care of busy customers; Michelin EV tires has only two years warranty (20k miles), too soft that nails penetrates easily! I'm glad I hid my husband's advised! I have been turned into a Les Schwab Loyal Customer now! The Covington branch has nine (9) bays to take care of cars and extra bay specifically for trucks! Their "free" tire rotation is part of a scam to make you feel sick of wasting your time (3.5 hours) and just get a new set of damn tires. Tire maintenance which is what flashed in my dashboard when I start my car. I went in (even called before I came in) asking if I may do so without an appointment. The lady at the reception told me if you have 2 and 1/2 hoirs to wait, we can get that done for you. It turned out, my tires may be low on air pressure OR it may have a nail on it. Long story short, I waited 4 hours and my car was not looked at. Only when I decided to make an appointment for a future day is when it was made clear to me that due to customers having an appointment for the day, my car would not get any attention and / or will be pushed back at the end of the line. I would have appreciated being told that fact when I came in at 8:57 am. I left LeSchwab feeling very disappointed. A little courtesy to have them tell me that it will not get done today. I've done business with other Les Schwab locations and was always happy with service. No problems today. Found a screw in tread of tire. Tried to get into competitor (where we got tires). Two locations had same answer: They couldn't help me until Wednesday as they only had one technician. Soooo.....I'm supposed to miss 2 days of work (unpaid, btw) just to fit into their schedule? Tomorrow is a holiday, so I would actually have 3 days unpaid. In any event, I showed up at Les Schwab at 7:40 and was 3rd person in line. First person had appointment and the majority of people coming in were walk ins. Was done by around 8:45. They fixed the tire and did an inspection as well. No charge. Since the company changed hands a few years ago, my family has noticed a decline in the quality of service at the Covington location. There are other locations, and competitors, for hassle-free service (and car tires). Came in to buy one tire, and after a 3hr ordeal, I left with no tire! This location's staff showed poor customer service and tried to strong arm me into purchasing products I didn't need. I went into the Covington location to purchase a single tire. The location tried to use strong arm tactics to force me to immediately buy the other three tires (that were in very good shape), which they then would only install the next day due to "their" schedule. After much discussion and repeated pressure to buy, buy, BUY!, I requested that my spare tire be mounted instead of the new tire. On top of it all, I understand waiting 2hrs because I didn't have an appointment. But taking an additional 1hr to change a single tire once the car is in the bay is ridiculous and incompetent! I finally had a chance to come back & give the Covington Les Schwab another try - I was stranded in the Costco parking lot with a dead battery, and even a jump start wouldn't get it going. Pulling the old core, I walked over to Les Schwab to see what they had in stock. The young guy behind the counter looked up what options were available, and set me up with a battery & a decent warranty period. He even told me that I'd need to 'reset' the computer of the car, to make it 'recognize' and accept the new battery, but they'd be happy to do that for me. I hiked the new battery back to the car, and it started right up! Driving back to Les Schwab this time, they got me right into an open bay, reset the computer setting, and I was off & running. Told tire has been discontinued, but they located one somewhere else and arranged to have it shipped. Told it would be here in two days, but no guarantees due to winter driving conditions. It's now 3:00 pm on day three. Still am being told tire should be delivered today. I don't trust businesses to call when they're supposed to, so I drove here and let them know I would be waiting. Had a clunking noise when stopping. Spent over $1,000 for tie rods and control arms etc. made more noise since. Took it took in again and to another Les Schwab who said not enough grease was put in. Said they fixed it. Nothing wrong. Still more noise. The car now creaks, moans and groans and still clunks. It's quit scary to drive and it's my kids car. Never heard so much noise from any car I have driven. I will just stick with tires from this company. Looked today. Huge amounts of grease oozing out of tie rods. Sprayed all over back of wheel. Today there is huge amounts of grease oozing out of boots. All over back of wheel. You message back saying you hope I give you another chance. I spent most over a thousand dollars and no offer to fix your mistake. Update: Got car into my mechanic finally for suspension issue/noise. They found multiple parts worn out and in need a replacing. This was after the all clear from Les Schwab several times and just filling up the boots. Mechanic said no matter how much grease was pumped into new boots it wouldn't have fixed the other issues. Today Les Schwab promised to inspect my vehicle's brakes and rotate my tires. They told me that the vehicle would be ready in 90 minutes. I thought it was a generous offer and I trusted them. I asked if they were sure and they said 'certainly'. I arrived to pick up the vehicle and they had not even been looked at it. No apology offered or even a 'sorry'. No indication it would be looked at by day's end. The broken promise, condescending attitude of the front desk and a wasted few hours is all I have to show for taking an afternoon off. Pedal goes all the way to the floor. You would think they would train their techs to TEST it BEFORE customer leaves the shop. We will not be back after they make it right. TRAIN YOUR TECHNICIANS!!!!!! Bleeding the breaks properly is entry level skill and not difficult to get right. You endanger the safety of your customers. read more

They charged me to replace all of my brake rotors and nothing was wrong with them, first brake job on car with 95,000 miles on it. Manager said come back next week and they would turn my old rotors and install them. So I asked why wouldn't you just give me a refund and leave the new rotors on the car and save the added labor. Manager replied he would restock the rotors on his shelf. Also I questioned the mechanic why the rotors were replaced and he said they were heat cracked, so I took them to the neighborhood auto parts store for a second opinion and they stated that they looked good. I never went back for my refund, the thought of them working on my car couldn't bring me to trust them ever again. Not to mention he admitted to installing used parts on cars. read more

Went in for a small job. Told it would be about. 4 hours. It ended up being longer than that. No problem. It's a Monday. They were way busier than I was expecting even though I knew they would have people needing their services from Sunday. I'm no Karen. I understand that they were busy and sometimes, when working on someone else's vehicle, people don't always give them the full, honest story so of course, they run into unexpected problems. Maybe they squeezed someone in front of my vehicle because of some circumstance. I don't know. I know that each time I walked in, they were hustling. They were friendly. I could see that they were doing their best and honestly, it looked like they were short handed as well. I will always bring my vehicle here. I have for many years. At least for the work I don't want to do myself. So even though i wasn't able to do everything I wanted, it was my fault because I could have made arrangements to use another vehicle and plan to pick up my vehicle later. My lack of planning and being prepared for the unexpected does not put them at fault. Especially when i don't know the circumstances for my vehicle taking longer than expected. He refused just because the schedule is full and people are waiting. How much time does it need to tighten a lug nut??? He does not have any sympathy to customers in trouble. I went in this evening to open an account so that I can get new tires for my car. It wasn't long before closing, so I anticipated that I would get my account setup and set up an appointment for tomorrow to get my tires put on. At 6pm (closing time) I was all set with the account and ready to set up an appointment for the morning. Tabitha was great, and said we can get you in tonight, which was great, since my tire wasn't repairable and wasn't holding air more than a day or two. At 6:25 I was all finished and out the door. I would not feel safe with the quality of work done here and the attitude of the technician who worked on my car. I took my car in to be serviced last month and had it worked on by Jeff. I drive a 2007 compact with pretty low mileage that has been well cared for-- he called my car a "throwaway car," not because of any mechanical issues but because it was an imported economy car, and then suggested work that no body shop would touch because it was unsafe and would have voided any warranty on my vehicle. Usually come to this center for my tires. I came in to get a flat repair as my tire lost air and I was able to find the nail in the tire that was causing it. When I came in I was told there were just couple of people in front of me...so no big deal right. 2 hours later and about 6-8 cars later...still nothing. Ridiculous wait for a flat repair. Last time they did it, it took couple of minutes and they didn't even had to remove the tire. Slow service. After requesting my keys and telling them that I was going over to Firestone, I was seen next. The most recent service, I made an online booking 5 days in advance, hoping that this would guarantee prompt service.
