I had made an appointment weeks earlier, then dropped off my car at the Covington Costco to have my Michelin Pilot Sport AS tires rotated (btw, ended up replacing at 25k, but was supposed to last about 40k). Later I received a phone call from the service rep. He told me a rotation wasn't recommended because the rear tires were a bit more worn than the fronts. I thought that's fine. Apparently they felt they didn't need to rebalance the tires either since the tires didn't need to come off, so I had to let them know I still wanted it done.
When I picked up my car, the service rep told me the mechanic left one lug nut off each of my rims intentionally because he said they didn't fit. Well, they sure fit when I bought the car five years ago. They have the correct thread, but were just a bit longer than the other lug nuts. What a lame excuse to have to do less work. I had to put them on myself after I got home.
Costco tire service is really bad. They're great at selling you tires, but not much else. I will no longer be buying tires at Costco. read more
