its so refreshing to work with mechanics who actually like their job! They did really nice work for my older car and kept it on the low to medium price rang. (for anyone who wants to know the specifics I went in for a alignment, and they noticed my inner right tire rod was extremely bent, so bent that they had to do something ab the the"threading". if I'm being out of town, you know what I'm saying right but anyway anyways.. the threading was bad. On very short notice they had to order the parts for it and absolutely harassed the delivery people for lying about when they would deliver it (the good kind of harassment lol) I think in total the end amount was 400 and like $20 which was even lower of an amount than what they quoted me.) Also, I went In for a simple diagnosis about my serpentine belt. These guys really could have told me I had To replace the whole thing and I would have believed them because thats honestly what I thought was gonna happen. Instead, they told me the truth and that it really wasn't a problem that had to be fixed right away. On top of that. Their mechanic Chris noticed my battery was loose so he tightened it, diagnosed like three other things for me free of charge, and even filled my windshield wiper fluid. he didn't even mention doing any of that.. Had an oil leak in June '24 that they fixed / replaced an oil pan. About 2 months later... noticed it's leaking oil again and the pan isn't even attached properly... will be going back to have them do the job correctly, and without them having the vehicle for a full week. read more

And I know it's a garage, but they could make their store/customer area a little more presentable. Desk and waiting area looks like it has never been cleaned. Do not bring your car here. I signed up for a simple oil change only for them to have my car for 2 1/2 days. The "technician" drained my transmission fluid instead of my oil so when they went to start it the car wouldn't start. They had no idea what they did so they kept it overnight. They figured it out only to overfill the oil so the car was burning off oil. The car smelled of oil for days. The worst part was the assistant manager who was a total a$$ and acted like I was being a jerk for wanting my car. He was arrogant and rude to me and my wife. Eventually I got the car but I took it to the dealership to make sure they hadn't damaged anything. The manager of the store took care of things but at that point it was too late. I had needed new tires for a long time. The tread on my back tires was dangerous, so finally I took the time to replace them. I had checked Firestone's website to check prices at first. I figured I would settle on the four tires that would come to the total of $450. Instead of booking online, I decided to call in to see how soon I could get in. I was told that I could drop off my car the same day and pick it up in a few hours. I was informed that the best tires came to the total of $490 something. I asked about the difference in what I was looking at online. I was told that the difference was that this price included a specific warranty. It frustrated me that the business would include the warranty without asking if I wanted it. I'm sure there are lots of people who would have just called and paid that price without questioning it. Especially in a time when cash is tight for a lot of people, it seems inconsiderate to upsell someone without asking their permission. Regardless, Firestone switched out the tires and called me within 2-3 hours (great timing!). They did a great job and I thought that the price was fair. I'd definitely come back and get other services done, but I'd definitely make sure to do my homework that I knew what I was paying for. read more

I signed up for Yelp just to write this review. I had two tires replaced along with my rear brakes about 3 years ago at Firestone in Covington. Two days after I ran over a nail, they replaced the tire for a small cost because of the hazard warranty and my brakes weren't squealing anymore, everything seemed OK. Though I was confused because it looked like there was still some rust on the rear brake area, but I know nothing of cars. About a year ago one of the tires I had replaced started slowly leaking, after a few weeks I took it to another shop to have it looked at. They fixed it and showed me a rusted nail they said looked like had been there for years, I can only assume Firestone did not even remove the nail or replace the tire, simply made a patch and let me go on, unsuspecting. I swore them off from that time. About a week ago I took my car in to another shop because my starter had gone bad and my emergency brake wasn't working. When testing the emergency brake, the shop told me the rear brakes I thought I had replaced were no good at all and I needed new brakes and rotors. The rusted area was replaced on the rear wheels and all is good now. I would not recommend even walking into this shop for pricing. Act as if it doesn't exist. Never again will I take my vehicle to any Firestone shop. read more

I need a flat tire fixed on a new tire. I know if it's anywhere near the wall of the tire you cannot repair it, however this one wasn't.. and they were trying to sell me a new tire for a hundred and fifty bucks. When I said no thanks the overly friendly guy walked away like I was on fire. I went down the street and they plugged, it as I knew it could be, for ten bucks. I hate rackets. read more

Average experience. Seem to be nice and the prices are average but occasionally on the higher side. I've had oil changes, brake work, and new tires at this location. I recommend getting estimates from other shops around the city. I use this place primarily for convenience and location. P.S. Really liked how honest and up front these guys were. I had took my car to two other places to get a quote on fixing a bent rim, from a Kentucky pothole on I-275, and flat tire. The two previous Firestone shops both immediately said that not only the tire was shot but also the rim. Thankfully Joey, at the covington shop, not only kept me positive but also said they had specialist that they could fix the rim! Within 30 minutes they had notified me that they had fixed the rim and the tired didn't need replaced. Since my tire fell under the warranty, it was a pretty painless process. Why is zero stars not an option. Took my car here nine times. NINE. To get my AC repaired. Still riding around in a hell hot car like it was "fixed" by the devil himself. Eighteen times I got rides, spent gas money, my time and my friends' time who had to take me to pick up & drop off. Pick up and drop off ( repeat 7 more times). Over $1400 later. No AC. 4 hours into a 9 hour road trip, and thanks to a pothole on 75, we needed a new a tire! Located this company from google maps while husband was putting the spare on. My car has a tire size that is not common or kept in stock at most places. He was able to order it and have delivered in a couple of hours. The store manager recommended a restaurant within walking distance (unfortunately closed for vacation so we opted for a coffee shop). The tire came in and they got us back on the road in no time. Even charged less than original quote, which is always good when your on vacation and things like this happen. read more

She takes the time to explain everything that's being done to your vehicle and makes recommendations that are useful and not just a push to add on additional services. After a bad experience with Smith Mufflers and Brakes, I discovered this Firestone location and until I have a car problem they can't fix, I will be taking my business to them. I've recommended them to three of my friends and all have been very satisfied with the service they received. I came in today because my company car, a 2008 Chevy Colorado, was experiencing some problems. I liked how personable and friendly the man at the front desk was. I'm not sure his name, but he was great. I also enjoyed how quickly they were able to get my car looked at and diagnosed. Long story short, the timing belt was loose. One of the most important qualities a mechanic can possess is honesty, and everyone here was very honest with me and thorough in their explanations. They all seem to be genuine, knowledgable professionals. The only name I manager to remember was Clayton Norton. A very helpful, honest man. I would have previously said nothing but good things about this auto center. Until now. Being a previous resident of Covington I have been a loyal customer. Again, until now. I spent over 5 hours at the auto center waiting for my car to be put back in a functional state. After ordering the wrong piece 4+ times I was then notified... Mind you after 2+ hours of waiting. They bought me lunch.... Could have taken care of my oil change which was the original reason I was getting my car tended to. Being in the service industry I understand the science of providing a service or product. I can honestly say that I will never return because while they may have paid for my $20 lunch, I spent $400 to sit in a less than entertaining waiting room. While the situation is understandable, apparently I have a very rare part in my Ford Escape... but the handling of my situation is far beyond repair and infuriating on many different levels. Lifesavers. My wife and I were on a road trip from Toledo to Texas while driving through Cincinnati we blew a fuse, our motor fan went out and we were five for. We called Firestone at 6:55 (they close at 7:00) and were able to go and get some help. One if the men, who was very nice stated after hours, helped us temporarily fix the problem, directed us the a shop that we could get a part and didn't charge us for his time. Without his help we would have not been able to continue our trip, and we are so grateful for all of his help and the amazing service that was provided to us. read more

I will never do business with this location again. I came in because I was having a tire issue (one tire kept losing air). Turns out I had a nail which was why my tire pressure was fluctuating and this caused pre-mature wear on my front two tires. I had originally purchased four tires at this location so they prorated the two new tires that I needed. They also told me I needed a front end alignment which cost 79.99. So I got the tires and alignment, I was there for four hours. When I left the car was driving really rough, I figured there is as break-in period for the tires. When that didn't go away and gotten worse I took it back to Firestone and they re-did the alignment again at no charge which tells me they new it wasn't right when they let me leave the first time. Hello safety issue. Again I still did not feel it was right so I took it to the dealer and they checked and found the alignment was not correct. I had already had Firestone do this work twice and they haven't gotten it right. So I am having the dealer fix the problem. I did go back to Firestone for a refund of the alignment charge which they did no questions asked but for only 49.99, there apparently was a thirty dollar credit for the alignment on the original receipt, maybe they new the work wasn't done correctly from the get go. read more

I took my truck in to have one damaged tire replaced. I was given a quote over the phone and then given the same quote in writing when I dropped my truck off. I left it over the weekend and when I went in on Monday morning for pick up I was told the new tire was installed but the price would be $40 more than quoted. There was no prior notice or attempt to notify me of any price change and when I disputed it I felt pressured into just paying the extra. But this was very bad policy and anyone going there should be aware. read more
