I've been here twice for tire issues. The first was me popping a tire. That time it was around $300 for the right size tire on my SUV. Funny enough, I came back in for a leak on that same tire 6 months later. This time it was only $20 to patch the hole from the nail. Will never take another vehicle there again! Sunday I rolled my passenger side window down and it wouldn't go back up. We normally take our cars to Car X in Newport but they are closed on Sundays, so we brought it here. They told me the motor needed replaced and it would be $315 and it wouldn't be done till Monday. I told them that was fine. Monday they called me at the end of business and told me that the motor was fixed but it still wasn't working so it was also going to need a new master switch and in total it would be $1000 and the part wouldn't be in till Wednesday! I immediately called Car X and he told me that it sounds like they misdiagnosed it and they need to check to make sure the motor was actually bad before I pay for it. I called them back and they told me the motor was definitely bad. I told them that I would be in the next morning to pick up the old motor and I was having it tested, and that I would not be paying for a new one if the old one still worked. The next morning when my husband went to pick it up they said it was back in the car and magically working and I only had to pay for the switch. Interesting huh? At this point I was livid and called corporate. Then the next morning I get a call from the store manager who had been off for the last 2 days and said he came in to a note from one of his mechanics saying to give me my car back and not fix it. I guess they were mad that I called corporate? I told him that they've had my car for days and that it needs to be fixed! I explained to him how they tried to screw me over and told him I would call corporate again if need be so he apologized. He gave a discount on my service and threw in some free wiper blades but the entire thing was an absolute nightmare and if I hadn't asked for that old motor back to have it tested they 100% would have charged me for a part that I didn't need! read more

Great customer service!! Called about a valve stem issue I just discovered. Chris asked me to stop by so he could see it. Arrived and bays were full, lot was full, and a couple people in waiting area. Chris came out grabbed a tool and fixed in less than 2 minutes. Also checked the other tires. I highly recommend that you avoid getting your vehicle serviced at this location. If I could give them negative stars I would. They tried to lie about their warranties and charge me for services that should've been covered. When confronted about this, they tried to backtrack & the charge me for a service that should've been included anyways. They also failed to verify my callback number which required me to call them to find out what was going on with my vehicle. They also failed to do one of the services that I specifically brought my vehicle in for. I was also not informed that they broke 2 bolts on my air box while checking my air filter. I've been trying for almost a month to have someone contact me so I could address my concerns. This company has decided that customer service isn't important anymore. We scheduled an appointment for our daughter today at 10 AM to get a battery for her car. She arrived, they made her wait 4 and a 1/2 hours to get a d*** bathey. Didn't treat a right, they told her she couldn't use the restroom. It was awful. Don't go to thise Store. read more

Ihad a flat tire on a Saturday afternoon.i pulled into the firestone in newport.they were able to replace my tires within the hour on a busy day for them.a couple weeks later I realized my tires were not balanced.I called the store and was told to come in whenever it was convenient for me!I returned yesterday and all my tires were rebalanced at no charge! Being a senior on limited income,I was so happy.the staff at this store location are the best,even working together on cars and helping each other out! I've been getting my oil changed here for about 4 years and I've always had 4-5 star service with multiple people involved. Recently, I took my sons car here for a power steering problem. They did their full diagnostic check and found a very long list of things wrong. I have some mechanic experience and felt like they were honest with me. We went through the list and prioritized each item to determine which problems we needed to be fixed now and which ones could wait. Rude, unprofessional, and outrageous prices. The transmission for my wiper blade broke after a snowstorm - I went to Firestone because it was a mile away. Be warned - even if you pay to have your issue fixed, they will still charge you the diagnostic fee (mine was 43.00). A friend told me that no auto repair places charge the diagnostic fee in addition to repair costs - they remove them, if your car is serviced. So I called them later in the afternoon to ask that the fee be removed. The manager, Mike, was incredibly condescending. He told me that he refused to remove the diagnostic fee. Then he offered to "take the part out, and you can come pick it up." -as if that offer was anything but a snide remark. Soooo, $275 to fix my windshield wipers and a real comedian for a manager. Sketchy and expensive. I went in with a flat tire (nail puncture) that could easily be patched. They charged $36 for patch work ($2 material fee, $34 labor fee). They called and said I need to get my brake pads replaced too. I knew they were overpriced and wanted an idea of what pads should cost and how you check them yourself, so I called them back and asked how low the pads were (a.k.a. how long I could wait to get them changed). They said "I don't know, we did not check them, we can check them for ~$21 dollars if you want." I asked how they knew they were low if they didn't check them and they said "One of our technicians glanced at it." If it's simple enough to check them that you can glance at it, don't charge me $20+ dollars to verify. If it isn't that simple, don't try and trick me into paying for an expensive repair (general brake pad replacement cost: $150-$200 each axel -- I'm sure they would quote me at least $300). Very disappointed. It is in a convenient location, but I will be finding a new auto repair shop read more

I had a wheel bearing that was going out and had a road trip coming up. These guys fit me in next day, and got me out same day. Price was a bit up there but that was mostly due to the cost of Audi parts, which they also sourced same day. Slipped an oil change in while it was there and they used great oil for the German engine. Thanks, Firestone. She drives like a dream again. I'll be sure to bring the Honda S2000 in next. read more

My young son took his car in for an assessment last Saturday, after a car wreck. The car sat in their parking lot for the next FOUR days until they could 'get to it.' Meanwhile, he is taking Uber to school, 40 miles from his apt, both ways. Called daily (again, they never called him) to get the status; was told they hadn't had time to look at it. Finally, this morning, he called to be told the car needed body work before they could see what needed to be fixed. Probably took them 2 minutes to make that call - FOUR days sitting in their lot; meanwhile my son is shelling out hundreds of dollars for Ubers so he doesn't miss required attendance! I'm guessing because my son is young and easy to brush off. The service manager today was very defensive. Couldn't explain why a 2 minute assessment took four days. Inexcusable, sloppy, and terrible customer service. Any why does website say 'Complete' auto care? If he has to go elsewhere to get body work, this is NOT 'Complete' Auto Care! read more

As of 06/28/2023, I am no longer a customer of Firestone. This Firestone in Newport, Kentucky are VERY dishonest and they lie. I went in for an oil change, they said that I had a leak, they put something in my engine, I got in my car and my entire car reeked with gasoline! The guy sprayed off my engine, I asked them when will I know where the leak is coming from? Chris said to bring my car back in 2 weeks, and they would be able to tell me. After I took my car back for the gas smell for the 3rd time, the guy had an attitude with me. Since Jeff isn't there, this place has gone down hill. A few weeks before this, my daughter took her car in for a simple oil change. It never happened, my daughter's car sat on their lot for over 4 hours and the oil was never changed, that day. I was VERY upset with how my daughter was disrespected and treated. I talked with the guy and I told them that I wanted them to make this right and they I would give them another chance. So he agreed to give my daughter the oil change for another day, and told him that I wanted it done for free, he agreed. And then they treated me the way they did to me on 06/10/2023......I won't be back. read more

I'm used to auto places where a technician isn't friendly, just does the task and I'm on my way. This location of Firestone is far from that. I called in and Brent was able to tell me the wait time if I brought my car in at that moment. So he just schedule me an appt later in the day. When I arrived they quickly took my car in and the place was well kept and clean so I felt comfortable sitting in the waiting area. Jeff then explained to the tire issues and options I had to repair. Since I was there I decided to inquire about a spare tire for my Fiance and Jeff also went above and beyond looking up a price, he called another location to make sure I was getting an accurate answer. Both gentlemen were so very kind and welcoming. They really cared about helping me instead of just doing a job. It was a breath of fresh air to meet 2 people that genuinely care about helping others and take pride in their work. Thank you both! read more

3:30 PM: Discover I have a flat tire. 3:31 PM: Call Firestone and confirm that they can look at my car right away. 3:35 PM: Drop my car off at Firestone. A friendly and polite gentleman takes my keys, asks me a few questions, and says they'll patch the tire if they can and courtesy check my fluids, but will call before doing any other work. 4:30 PM: Get a call saying that the screw has been removed from my tire and no replacement was needed. Courtesy check came back with a few recommendations, but nothing major was needed. 5:00 PM: Pay $20, pick up my car and I'm back on the road. Can't ask for better than that. read more

I was very disappointed with the service at Firestone. I felt as if they were trying to take advantage of me because I'm driving a Fleet vehicle. Went in because I had a nail in the back passenger tire. Upon review the technician told me that I need 4 new tires and highly recommended that I get this done. I just got new tires put on a year ago. I remember this clearly because the Fleet company made me take pictures to prove I was in need of tires. After telling Firestone "no, just patch the nail in the back tire." I come back to pick it up and they put the donut on! The tech told me that because of the nail I had worn out the tire so bad that they didn't put it back on. They placed the tire in my back seat with the rim! Took it out and it looks exactly like the other 3 tires! My assumption is that they didn't like the word "No" and they was too lazy to patch it so they just threw on the donut. FYI. Took it to another tire shop and they agreed with me!!! Patched the damaged tire and replaced the donut. DO NOT GO HERE! Shady employees and they will try to take advantage of you. read more

I set up an appointment at 3 o'clock for an oil change because they said it would be faster with a set time in place. After about an hour of waiting, they informed me that I needed new tires. I knew that my tires were about due to be replaced, so I agreed on a set and was told they would take care of it "quickly." Two and a half hours later they were finally done. In other words, I definitely suggest you leave your car and not wait like I did. Also, I'm hesitant to call any car place crooks; but I noticed one other odd thing while waiting in the lobby. Every single person who had scheduled some type of service were inevitably told that they needed something else done to their vehicle. My first visit, I purchased 4 Destination tires because they gave me the best price. When I punctured one of those tires 25,000 miles later, they repaired it for free due to my road hazard protection. Also included was a rotation and balance. I took my wife's car in to inspect a funny sound coming from the brakes. Came out 500 dollars later with a broken lower control arm and two rotors which they said they replaced only to discover later they were the exact same ones. They charged me 100 dollars per rotor. Boy my ass hurts. Take it from me stay away from these assholes. read more

I took it to Bill's Standard Service in Latonia, KY and it was a broken bracket holding the muffler. $62! I will never go back to Firestone. read more

I've been going here for about six years now after moving to the area. Jeff is always so nice and remembers me by name over the phone. They do a great job explaining everything to me that may need work with my car. When I first started coming I had a very old Camry that always had issues (over 200,000 miles). A couple times I felt like the person I was working with was not giving me the best deal but since then things have been great. I now have a newer car that they take great care of. They have given me some suggested maintenance options for the mileage on the car but never pressured me into getting everything done. Oil changes with an appointment never take too long and the customer service is great. It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust these days and I trust these guys! read more

Took my wife's car early in the morning to have a leak in the tire repaired. Told them I'd like to have the car back by lunch time. I was called and informed that both rear tires had issues. The right rear needed to have the sensor replaced, and the left needed to have the sensor patched. The sensor replacement would cost some money, but the repair to the left was covered by the road hazard. 30mins or so later I was called again and informed that the tire on the left needed to have the sensor replaced also, but they wouldn't charge me. I had both tires fixed, rotated and the oil changed within 2hrs. Great experience! read more

Ahhhh where to begin...3 years ago on a hot summer day (see Firestone Covington review). 3 years, 12 visits and $1400 later it's still a hot summer and I'm melting in my car like ice cream on blacktop. Have you ever seen someone who has had the makeup literally melted off their face with a blow torch? This is me today. No pics, I don't want to scare the kids. I'd wipe it with my shirt but that looks like I'm geared up for a wet T-shirt contest at the Possum (fine, maybe a nursing home) Anyway I made my way to these nice folks (also Ted Bundy was nice so that gets you no stars either) because after 9 visits the Covington Firestone was unable to fix my AC and Nick the district manager decided it was time I got it done right. I giggled as I wrote that. Anyway. 3 more visits (tally of the miles, hours & gas I've spent in the past 3 years can be provided upon request). I'm not sure what school of Freon shenanigans these folks all went to but let me tell you it's borderline frightening. So I melt. And wait for winter. And they keep offering to fix it. (For free. Hmm. Is free incompetence better?) Let me stick my hand in that fire a few more times. I can take it. I've ridden in a mobile version of hell for 3 years. Also the promised rental car is about like Uncle Daryl's promises to stay sober. Ain't happening. Unless I quit my job and show up during business hours to get it. In person. And pay for gas. No I'm not kidding. The hits just keep on coming. As far as entertainment goes it's not cheap. But you can't make this shit up. And if they want royalties for the movie rights that's a big no. Went here in a pinch for a flat tire. They just told me the nail in my tire was in the sidewall and not repairable. Furthermore they said since my car was AWD I would need to replace all 4 tires at a cost of $575. I left and once I was able to get an appointment at my regular HONEST repair shop. My regular guy said the nail was no where near the side wall and repaired it for $25. This is a clear situation of dishonesty and manipulation. Beware. read more

This was the first time I've been to Firestone in Newport and the service at this place is fantastic. I'm used to feeling incredibly uncomfortable in auto care establishments because I'm a small woman who doesn't know very much about cars. The past few times I've gotten my car worked on people have taken advantage of my situation and overcharged me or straight up harassed/given me the creeps. NOT HERE. Lindsey who works the front desk is a ray of sunshine and super polite, explaining what I need done, and being flexible with my schedule when there weren't appointments open. The woman who worked on my car was also incredibly helpful and polite. AND they have tons of deals on tires and oil changes so I left saving much more than I would have if I'd gone to the Midas a little further down the road. They really seem like they care about you having a good experience. I will definitely be getting my oil changed there from now on (Also give Lindsey a raise). read more

This is the only place I come for my car repair, and I am always pleased with my service each and every time. I usually deal with Jeff who is so helpful and nice. This most recent time, I came in without an appointment. Somehow, the plastic splash guard for my car had come unbolted on one side and was dragging along the ground. I came here straight after work and asked if it was something they could fix that day, as I didn't feel safe driving the way it was. I also mentioned that my car was due for an oil change and asked if I could make an appointment for that as well, thinking that without an appointment it would be enough if they could just reinstall the splash guard. She said they would be happy to do both at the same time while I waited. I was given an estimated time of an hour and a half to do the work, but was pleasantly surprised when they were finished in about 45 minutes. Additionally, the cost estimate I was given prior to the work starting was exactly what I ended up being charged - a whopping $28 for both an oil change and reinstallation of the splash guard. If that's not a deal, then I don't know what is! The splash guard only needed a few bolts, but I was still expecting a hefty charge for it, so I'm not complaining! I never feel like anyone here tries to tack on needless expensive repairs. They did suggest I have my brake light changed, as one was out (I already knew about this), but otherwise they gave me no other maintenance suggestions. If you need some car repairs and want fair, honest pricing and service, I'd highly recommend Firestone! read more

Great service for me. They were able to honor a coupon for the next day since they could not fit me in the day it expired. I was also able to get an oil change for $20 that I needed. They did recommend a few things to fix but since they gave me a printout of what they are I can fix them when I need to on my own.
