November 2021 My wife went for a simple oil change, after they Changed her oil a technician/sales staff told her she really needed to change the filters in her car without telling her the cost right now or her car would no longer work my Wife doesn't know about cars so she believe them. Months later after the simple close to $400 oil change my wife stops at another garage for an oil change at a quick glance under the car the technician tells her that they cant change her oil do to prior damage to her car when the technicians at Firestone caused. We called the original firestone we changed her oil at told us that they wouldn't take responsibility without seeing the car we get there 20 minutes later and the front desk lady tells us that she knew who we were but couldn't help because 1 hour before they close they don't have any technicians that can help they all went home. At 6:00 PM I have to run around all of Charlotte to find a single place that can do an oil change in the last hour of the day. thank God that take five exists they have technicians on site until closing they were able to change the cars oil and showed me the damage skid plate when the technicians at Firestone placed the skid plate back they used so much force on the screws tightening it that they wore out the pilot holes for the skid plate and it was hanging on with just the by stings of fabric the take 5 technician got my oil changed placed a fix on the skid plate until we could get it fixed all under 10 minutes and only charged me for the oil change.I greatly appreciate their service and can't recommend them enough to everyone in Charlotte. read more

I took my car into Firestone to have the engine mounts replaced. Unfortunately I had to bring the car back because they placed the wrong mount on the car. (The mistake was very understandable. The correct mount was identical to the one they used. ) Jason the manager was extremely apologetic. He stated he would replace the mounts for me at no additional costs ( there was a $200 difference between the proper mount and the one they'd used) and he could do the work himself to make sure all was well the second time around. He stated it may take a little more time if he had to do it but he didn't mind. He also told me they had a master mechanic that could do the work in less than an hour. We would simply have to get me in to get the job done and the sooner the better. It took me about a week and a half to get my car back to them. During this week my dash board lights were flickering and I wasn't sure why. While at work, on the day we agreed to fix the mount problem, my car acted as if it didn't want to start. I drove into Firestone, I let Jason know I had arrived, he called his staff, as he was not at work that day. They took my keys and began working. 30 minutes into my wait one of the gentlemen told me they had to jumpstart my car and it seems my alternator has failed and I needed a new one. He explained he could order a new one and have me all ready to go in less than an hour. I said please do, so they fixed their hiccup and the bad alternator in under two hours. The service was absolutely superb. I really appreciate them being willing to go the extra mile to accommodate me. They were willing to take me to work and pick me up so that they could fix the problem they created. They we're courteous and worked quickly. I didn't have to wait for hours although the alternator was a surprise problem for us both. I will continue to take my car to Firestone on Steele Creek so that I continue to get 5 star service. I'm giving them 5 stars only because it's not just them finding themselves short of expert staff. It took trip to four different auto shops to fix the knocking sound on our 2012 Honda Pilot. Settle in and I'll tell you the tale. 1. Honest One 9200 Monroe Rd Location: They diagnosis struts and give an overpriced quote 2. We pick this Firestone for their more competitive rate. New struts doesn't fix knocking. This Firestone recommends the dealership. 3. Hendrick Honda 8901 South Blvd shrugs their shoulders and just charges us for the diagnostic. 4. A year later Tuffy's 9909 Charlotte Hwy has a go and recommended the strut being replaced as it was either a defective part or installed incorrectly. Back to Firestone- they honored the warranty even though we were two months outside it. They replaced the strut -but said the knocking persisted until hey tightened a control arm. Finally it runs like a dream. Conflicted: beyond grateful that the problem is finally fixed. Charmed by Firestone's great front office staff...but it would have saved us a lot of time/$ if their mechanics had got it right the first time around. Rob at Tuffy's says there's a mass exodus of experienced mechanics from the field. They're being replaced with newbies who just throw new parts at a problem until something works. I overheard the employees joking about how they had messed with previous customers, and I'm pretty sure they just like screwing with people in order to glean some kind of perverse satisfaction from the discomfort of others. I was traveling through this area when my car wouldn't start. It just so happen to be close by in the Harris Teeter parking lot. One of their customers recommended this Firestone. Since it was close and the tow truck wouldn't have to go far, I reluctantly chose to come here which I regret now. First of all, I consider myself a mechanic too but being out of state with no tools and no machine to read the codes to tell me why my car wouldn't start, I trusted this place. They stated they would have to do diagnostic test and said it would be $59. However, the service advisor came back later and said it would be $99 for a full diagnostic test. Troubleshooting the problem: After a couple hours, they called me to the desk and said i would need the following: Starter Battery Fuel Pump Fuel Filter Vacuum Line I thought to my self, there's no way all those auto parts went bad at the same time on my car. They gave me a price of $229 for the battery. I told them I can buy it at Advance Auto Parts for $169. So, I bought it at Advance and brought it back and put it in myself. However, I had someone else to check battery and they said all it needed was a slow charge. The mechanic said that my starter was "fried" which the manager agreed was not very professional words used by the mechanic. I didn't believe anything was wrong with my starter. So, I told them to just put the fuel pump, fuel filter and vacuum line on and we will see if it will start up afterwards. For these 3 parts and labor they gave a price of over $1204. My investigation: I called up a neighbor Firestone in Fort Mill and the woman gave a me price of $584.87 for the fuel pump, fuel filter and labor. Why is the price so far apart in difference. I questioned the manager about the call I made to Fort Mill Firestone and told him the woman gave me a price of $584.87. He said " can't be". I repeated myself and said I just called them and that's the price she gave me. Again, he says "can't be" while shaking his head. I felt like he just called me a liar. I also called up some other repair shops and they were a lot cheaper too. Most prices were in the upper $550 to $590 range including a Firestone in Cleveland, Mississippi. Another price difference: I called up Advance Auto Parts and they gave me a price of $269 for the fuel pump which has the fuel filter with it included. Yet, this Firestone want to charge me about $450 just for that fuel pump. This is not a parts house. They buy their parts from places like Advance, Autozone and etc then add a markup to that price. Final Thoughts: Yes, I know I helped their profit here big time. I trusted them. I will never use any Firestone in the Carolinas again. I just feel like I was done wrong. I didn't need no starter. Amazing!!! Came in on Sunday dead ass tired from a NOC shift and needed breaks! They hooked me up! Then Monday I noticed a leak brought it back on Tues. Turns out the week before Valvoline forgot to put my oil cap on after an oil change I had oil all over my engine! Disappointed, she quickly rearranged the scheduling and fit me in immediately, all while handling the front desk by herself with the phone ringing off the hook. I was having trouble with my AC. Some air was coming out but wasn't as cold as it should have been. Also, the 2 center vents were not working. I took it in to have it looked at. Was charged $95 for a diagnostic...no way getting around this. I was told I needed a new compressor, needed to replace the filters and refill on the Freon - grand total was $1500. I was expecting to spend maybe $300-400 but NOT $1500!! So I called a friends husband and explained to him the issues. The first thing he said was DON't DO IT!! He gave me instructions to test out the vents (1) Turn on high heat & blow through top & lower vents for about a minute (2) Do the same with the AC. Once I did that, my AC has been working fine. There must have been some dust buildup inside the vents. Whatever it was, it WAS NOT the compressor and I didn't need to spend $1500. I am LIVID about this and will NEVER go back to Firestone again. I went in to get an inspection in may and spent 2k to pass it. Needed 2 tires but then was told I was leaking power steering fluid. And needed new brakes. It was apparent that a hole was punched in the bottom of where the steering fluid was because I never had a leak. Had to bring me out to show it pouring out of the bottom of car. Said I had 3mm on my brakes so needed them. They now squeak and I know they werent changed. They also claimed to change wiper blades which they did not. I had an oil leak all over driveway after changing oil because the put the filter on crooked. Those were fixed. I will be calling corporate to get my brakes fixed this time. I was told by another mechanic that they Were not changed. I was a satisfied customer for years but they blew it. Stay clear of this place!!!!! Update! Fixed brakes under warranty, mis diagnosed my air conditioning and now would cost me another $250 and changed my oil for $65. Put the oil filter on crooked again and had to go back to have fixed after leaking on driveway again. Refunded oil change. Awesome!!!! read more

They took their time and gave me a descriptive description of the vehicle and repairs that will be needed in the near future. Because of their time and clear explanation I feel more confident negotiating and purchasing the vehicle I had inspected. I sat there for 45m-1hr while they inspected my vehicle and could tell each person took pride in their job. Another location was taking too long to deliver an item and they sent their own person to go grab the part to help expedite the process for the customer. I did in fact need new brake pads, but I called my dealer (Hyundai) and received a quote for $628. Needless to say, Hyundai received my business. Since I've moved to the Northside of Charlotte 5yrs ago, I've taken a couple of vehicles I've owned to Firestone on WT. Harris Blvd & always seem to have issues but continue to give them the benefit of the doubt because of location convenience for myself! They alway make excuses that they are short staffed & point fingers at everyone else instead of being accountable for their own errors or faults. They are completely unprofessionally slow! They will give you an estimated time frame which is inaccurate by several hours or even days! The last vehicle I had they preformed my oil change & I ended up with a crack in the oil pan which I ended up needed to get replaced & they denied causing the crack... I let that slide. This time around, I have a completely different car & took it in to be serviced after being told my taillight & brake light was out. I also had TPMS service light on which needed to be resolved, needed an oil change and a wheel alignment! By the end of the day I was told I needed approx. $2000 in repairs! I was told I had so many issues with my car which I don't know if it's true or not cause I know nothing about cars. However I've only had this car about 4months & never had any major issues at all! So basically I'm starting a new job & need my car I'm working condition my the work week, so I go through with all they recommended repairs! I went in at 9:40am Saturday, 6/18/2022 & was told my car would be ready within 1.5hr to 2hrs max. So I decided to wait till my car was ready... or at least what I thought! I ended up being there all freaking day until they closed at 6pm to then being told they had to order some type of hose for the oil change cause I MUST'VE taken the car elsewhere for service & they placed the wrong hose on my car. Which I then informed them, they (Firestone) is the only place I've taken my car for service since purchasing my vehicle a few months back. Firestone then tells me the wrong parts was sent to them multiple times in regards to the hose needed. They already stripped what was there & drained the oil so my car was not capable of being moved. So I was then being told to leave the vehicle over night & repairs would be ready no later than noon on 6/19 when the correct parts arrive again. So I give them till 2:15pm on Sun 6/19 being I haven't heard anything back from them & now being told yet again... they do not have the correct parts & stating that I told them I took my car elsewhere & the other placed f'd up my car with incorrect parts. (Which is a complete LIE!) I never told them that... In fact as I stated repeatedly... FIRESTONE is the only place I've taken my care for repairs & oil changes. So again pointing the finger & not being accountable! So now I'm being told they need to keep my car till 6/20 cause they now cannot get the correct parts till Monday. I'm suppose to start a new job Monday morning & do not have another vehicle... this is completely inconveniencing my life! This weekend was Father's Day weekend & Juneteenth weekend! I had plans for the entire weekend I had to cancel due to not having a vehicle... I also have a new job I cannot get to cause I have no vehicle... Firestone have not done anything to try to compensate me for any of this chaos... other than tell me they will replace my oil pan for free due to this mess! Alright guys.....i rely on reviews...its only proper to let you know my experience here. I needed an alternator changed. The price quote was $468. They told me that they would check and assess car and if that was the problem that would be it. They stated that they would call to confirm if that was the issue. Mind you I was barely five minutes from there, the phone was right in front of me. They shy dialed me.....can you imagine. How can a call go straight to voicemail without ringing in a good reception area. After I hadn't heard from them over 1.5 hours I called .......how shady is that. So something that was to be done by two pm.....was done almost 4pm. I was not happy about the run around. On top of that they wanted to charge me to replace my belt..... to bring up to 579. i decided to seek those services elsewhere. went to my appointment at the Firestone on Highway 55 in Durham, North Carolina on June 25, 2022. Upon arriving, I saw a staff person approach a vehicle, enter it, and speed from the front to the rear and back to the front of the Firestone parking lot. I quickly entered the office and told the store staff James of my observation. I advised him that I did not want that individual driving my vehicle in such a manner. I remarked that I did not feel comfortable having him work on my BMW. I am not the manager, James said, "Okay, Ms. Ryan; I will inform Mike the manager." I am not the manager, James said, "Okay, Ms. Ryan; I will inform Mike the manager." I waited a long time, so I went to James and inquired how much longer I would have to wait. James said that he did not know but would check. James did not provide any response afterward. I decided to search for my car via the front lobby glass. I spotted instantly who I now know to be (Jason) working on my BMW. I reported him because I didn't want him working on my vehicle based on what I saw him doing. I began recording using my mobile phone! Jason is now smiling and staring at me together with other individuals in the bay area. I filmed for some time. I immediately came outside and walked towards the bey area to inquire as to why an oil change is taking so long. Although I was still recording my automobile in the bey region, I am not in the bay area. Suddenly, Jason began ranting at me, demanding to know why I was recording him. With all this happening I felt threatened and full of anxiety, and I take anxiety medication. I said that if you are working diligently, you should not be disturbed. The manager, Mike, arrived to instruct me to stop filming. I said that I am not in the bay area and that I am recording around my car. Mike shut the hatch in my face and instructed Jason, Get HER vehicle out of here. Jason slashed my tire, sped in my vehicle from back to front, and when I asked for the keys, he refused. This was all on my phone being recorded. I submitted a complaint that day, but have received no answer. Bruce Andrews attempted to offer me a tire that did not match my other tread, brand, etc. I informed Brue Andrews that I ordered four matching tires in February 2022 and have invoices from a previous purchase with a warranty at a different tire store. Other concerns Oil change was NOT performed; I went to a different Firestone to reset the oil change interval, but it is still set at 8,000 miles as of 7/27/2022 with is Not accurate. Bruce text me several times about this case but never resolved it. He never asked to check my vehicle out regarding my complaint. I have texts of other Firestone staff sharing how Firestone is racist towards women of color, she was not able to help me or she would be fired by Firestone, she told me over the phone that Firestone was racist red necks and has been treating women of color like this and they will not change. Jennifer the regional manager has been asked and was said to talk to me to resolve this case but she has not contacted me and no one has contacted me to resolve this case they just ask as if they do not care about customers' property. James stated to me that he would let the manager know that I did not want Jason working on my BMW Jason worked on my car, sped in my car and messed my car up all on camera. The other firestone manager stated he was tired of working on cars that got messed up at the Firestone I initially went to On HW 55 in Durham NC. I am not sure my oil change was completed properly. I filed a complaint with BBB after numerous texts to from Bruce and phone calls to Firestone Corporate offices since June 25, 2022 to no avail. BBB reported my complaint to Firestone but They requested BBB not to contact them anymore with complaints. So again, I have video footage of Jason speeding in my car and looking directly at my camera laughing at me. He would not give me my keys when I requested my keys. Mike the store man did not try to mediate the circumstances he escalated the matter by closing the bay door in my face as I was filming. I honestly can't believe Firestone operating like this and not caring about customer vehicles. My car costs too much money for Jason to damage my car and Firestone thinks it's ok. I have been trying to resolve this sine June 25, 2022. I have pictures of the oil hand smudges they left on my car hood. I had to hurry to get it off before it messed my paint up. I took my car in because it was making a strange noise in the front right. I dropped it off strictly because it is so convenient next to my workplace. They called me shortly after to say the wheel bearing on the back right needed to be replaced, I needed two new tires, new windshield wipers, a light bulb over my license plate was out that needed to be replaced and I needed my tires aligned. I told them to go ahead and do everything except for the windshield wipers since they were not giving me any problems. I was called to come pick up my car and as I was halfway there (walking) I got another call from them saying one of my front ball joints was bad and that they recommend I replace it and to not drive on it longer than 1-2 weeks. I told them I have my own mechanic who I will go to to have him check on that (I was in a panic before because of the strange noise, should have taken it to him int he first place.) When I arrive the run down everything they charged me for and they said windshield wipers. I told them I did not say I wanted that and I would not be paying for that. The man told me it looked like they had approved all the work before they even called me to ask and then didn't take it off. Because of this they did not charge me for the windshield wipers. I drove the car to my mechanic and had him look over the bill and my car. He told me they also should not have charged me the $90 for the alignment because since they said there is a bad ball joint they cannot do an alignment. They called me and admitted the mistake and issued me a refund on that as well. It's very unsettling that they left the charge for the windshield wipers and the alignment on. Should've read the previous Yelp reviews beforehand. Went in for an inspection, was told my rack and pinion was leaking, mind you my car was recently serviced and there was never a sign of any leaks. Was told it would cost $1,048 to repair just as other people have complained about. Showed pictures that this shop had sent me to 2 other mechanics and brought it to another place, all said this was unnecessary. I will never be back to this place as they obviously have some type of scam going. Do yourself a favor and find another place to get your car fixed. You've been warned! read more
